This appears to be a legitimate call regarding a prescription drug discount eligibility form I recently received from Social Security Administration. I checked both the internet site (.gov) and the 800 number provided in the recorded message; they both took me to legitimate Social Security sites.
Social Security reminding you of an appointment for the next.
Pennsylvania Mar 01st, 2018
I received a call from 972-497-1400 with a voice recording purporting to be a reminder of a Soc. Sec. appointment. However, there was a mistake in the information, so I called the call back number left in the message, twice, and each time got a telemarketing message, not the Social Security office. I called the caller i.d. number and got a recording saying it was not available from my calling area.
I received a call from American Voice, 972-497-1400, at 11.02am. The voice recorded message was legitimate as it was only a reminder of a phone appointment I have scheduled tomorrow with SSA.
North Carolina Dec 21st, 2017
Despite what other commenters have said about this number, it is definitely LEGIT. I received a voicemail this morning (11-22-17) from 972-497-1400, which IS from Social Security; it was a reminder to complete and return a form concerning “extra help” for prescription assistance from the SSA. I know for a fact this is not a scam, I have been receiving prescription assistance from the SSA. Recently I withdrew from Medicaid which prompted the form mailed to me by the SSA to reapply for the “extra help” program.
I was wary at first but it's legit. They left me a voicemail that started halfway through, asking me to complete and return a prescription-assistance form that i never received. The callback number they left checked out 800-772-1213
), and I was RIGHT... it IS LEGIT. They did not ask me for any info and told me the message was to inform me that the form was on the way and to look out for it.
It is just a recording reminding you of an appointment you have regarding Social Security. Not a live person
Reminder to fill out/return a form regarding prescription copay assistance from SSDI. Totally legit. I actually received the form in the mail about a week ago
SCAM!!! A "partial" voice message said to sign and mail a form or call Social Security. I called SS and they assured me they had not placed a call to me nor do they have any pending correspondence with me. They then asked me to repeat the phone number that called me. 972-497-1400 is NOT a valid phone number for any Social Security office.
almost every week ( 972-497-1400 and 817-363-2371
) called who are they? what they want? the autority didn't know ?
My call from them was legitimate. It was SSA reminding me of my hearing date and time. Was an automated recording.
Pennsylvania May 03rd, 2017
I received a phone call from 914-296-0201
when I answered the phone an automated message came on and said my ssn had been disabled, asked for me to hang up and call back to discuss this matter. I did NOT instead I researched the number online and found out it was as scam.
we received a call from this number and it asked for our snn... they said we need to be in Atlantic Georgia for a hearing...Due to our disability...the number 972-497-1400 came across the caller ID... when we tried to redial the number... it was no longer in service... So we called the SSN for conformation.. and this number was a scam...
This number called me today I missed the call, but when I got to the phone no message had been left. I can assure anyone this is NOT Social Security. (I'm from MO)
This number called me today I missed the call, but when I got to the phone no message had been left. I can assure anyone this is NOT Social Security.
its legitimate. i got call i didnt answer but it left voice msg reminding me on thursday of monday ssi hearing which i do have so it legitamate reminder service.
Social Security robocall followup to ensure a form they'd mailed had been received.
Call was appropriate and did not ask for any information or request any suspicious action.
I believe this call was what it claimed to be.
Caller called twice in short time. When I picked up phone and said HELLO a few times I hung up and no one was on the other end. It's getting these crazy people that don't have enough to do that they want to harass others. Get a real job or go fishing.
I received a legitimate call from this number to confirm and remind me of an appointment I have with Social Security. When I spoke with Social Security I was told I would receive this reminder call. This call comes from a service that Social Security uses. They did not ask for any information. They stated the exact time of the appointment I made and give me the correct Social Security phone number to call if I wanted to change the appointment. People calling this a scam do not know what they are talking about. If a call reminds you of a real appointment, does not ask for any information and gives you the correct number to call, it is legitimate!
Left msg trying to sell something.
It said that I had a court date with a judge tomorrow september 3 yet I have yet to speak to an attorney about my disability

The best thing all of you can do to help STOP ALL of this Junk is to file a complaint with the FCC.. If more people actually TOOK THE TIME TO DO THIS, it will eventually slow down and STOP.. We all know the Do Not Call Register is not the Best Tool in stopping this. Therefore a formal complaint daily will do more than you think.. Please notify and file with the FCC anytime you receive any of these calls.. Do your part to stop these calls.. Also, anything you see on an ID that says "Unknown name, Unknown number is coming from a foreign country/criminals.. To date we have little control over these criminal calls but with the help of All persons filing complaints.. one day we may see results.
Obviously some scam. I am nearing Medicare enrollment time, and I am getting all kinds of calls and mail from insurance companies about it.
Call was from Texas = Social Security confirming an appointment
Claimed to be Social Security Admin. They ARE NOT SSA
L.M.Lemmond Feb 03rd, 2014
Autoresponder for the Social Security Administration—appointment reminders, paperwork, and such. Expect a call if you have valid business with the SSA. If you don't, someone else may have outdated or falsified contact info.
Got a call from 972-497-1400 and they left a message about a disability court date which I don't have, when I tried calling back my carrier told me that number was not in use.
They left message that they had not received the signed paperwork. Sign and return. This is for the extra help for drug prescription overage. If I have any questions, call the Social Security number 1-800-772-1213
I received a phone call from this numer telling me Anthony wants to talk about my financial matters.
I got a call from this number today 5-30-2013 stating it was the social security administration. They had my social security number. Told me I have an appointment on Tue. With an administration judge????? I called one of the headquarters 800-772-1213
... They told me it was not from the SS administration . What can I do about this scam?
E.w.saylor May 31st, 2013
this is a automated phone call to remind the person that they have a telephone appointment with Social Security. Do not ignore it but if you do just call the Social Security Office and explain the call was ignored for not recognizing the number and they will assist you further
S.S. message conerning prescription drug assistance. Said they sent me a letter but I never got it or I thought it was junk mail and threw in before reading.
This is a 'Legit" reminder phone call, for those whom have a phone/appt. interview for disabilty.
I got a call from that number today and it was an automated soc security call regarding filling out paperwork previously mailed about their prescription drug program. They left a number to call if you need help filling out the paperwork. Think it is legit.
regarding a recent letter sent from Social Security about a prescription plan and whether I qualify, seems legit.
It was an automated recording that wanted to remind me of an ajudication hearing in Alberquerquee, New Mexico. They said my hearing was two days from now on 10-24-2012 and that I have not yet completed the required paper work. Last time I checked, I am no juvenile who needs to attend a court hearing, so the word ajudication threw me off... lol talk about a fail.

AMERICAN VOICE 9724971400 is a call for someone at you number receiving reminders of phone contact appointment by a Social Security Agent or a hearing etc. An answering machine or voice mail should pick this message up for you. It is a legal no spam number and a voice mail system Social Security Administration uses to leave a automated voice message for the recipient who gave them you phone number for contact. Calling this number back will render useless. You should never block this number.
Received a call from this number today and did not answer as I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize. No message was left. If it is Social Security (which I doubt)they wouldn't be calling me on my cell phone, they would be calling on my home phone. Me thinks it is a scam.
american voice called left message on recorder would this have anything to do with my disabilty?
robert hollis Jul 07th, 2012
Since my brother has been in touch with the social security office, we can accept this as a legitimate call.
MATT TEXAS 1962 Jun 25th, 2012
I received a call from this number, caller ID said American Voice. This is a message service from the Social Security office reminding me of my appointment for the next day. Because it is a messaging service you cannot call that number back but the message does states a legitimate call back number for the Social Security office.
i got some call with a recorded message, reminding me of some hearing relating to some disability discrimination or something. I was supposed to check my summons for information, very non-specific. Of course I did not have anything of that nature and the inclination is to call back where I assume they offer to look up your details for you. In other words they are fishing for information by encouraging you to call them, thinking yu missed something important.
American Voice called us twice but when I try to call the number I get a busy signal.
they called me a week ago. when i picked up and said hello. i got no answer. i said hello again and still no answer so i hung up.
They left a message saying it was the Social security Office....I tried to call back but the call wouldn't go thru. So I researched the number and seen this and wanted to report it !
Cindy Henry Oct 11th, 2011
Yes, they left a message. It is the SSDI office, calling to remind you of a meeting. It isn't a scam. But, because it's an automated message you cannot call back. What gets me is, if they would just check their own mail, they'd find my confirmation long ago. Sheesh!
This call is from the Social Security Office. It was calling to remind me of an appt I have.
I received a call from (972) 497-1400 at 10:30 AM, May 20, 2011. Caller ID showed, "American Voice" as the caller. The caller laimed to represent a Medicare prescription service. I did not provide any information and hung before the call was completed. After having filed complaints with the National Do Not Call Registry, ATT and the Social Security Administrtion, I found a legitimate number for American Voicemail. I called that number and voiced my complaint. The operator who answered my call told me that number had been deactivated two years previously and that American Voicemail is taking steps to identify and prosecute the caller.
ANY CALL ORIGINATING FROM (972) 497-1400 IS UNQUESTIONABLY A SCAM!
Social Security Adminstration says they do NOT have another party calling with reminders. That happens via local office, your attorney, or mail. I plan to pursue this through the legal system. Someone has MY information and I DO NOT like it at all. Yes, the number is DISCONNECTED if you try to call it back. BIG RED FLAG PEOPLE.
What is this? Why is there no way to find out who this is and HOW they got my phone number. U can run but you can't hide forever ass wipes.
I think that this is a full scale scam. There are a numerous amount of people on there stating that the calls are from different places yet with the same number. I received an automated message that they were the court house from Chicago calling to remind me of my scheduled court date. I have blocked their number from calling me again. I love digital phone systems with blocking features.
I went to call this number back within 30 minutes and the number was disconnected!!
This is an automated system of the Social Security Admin. to confirm phone appointments. It is a legitimate call back regarding appointments. The return/callback number is 800-772-1213
I was told I have another telephone appt. with social security on Friday. The appt. I hade with social security is supposed to be in person. I work at night and will only have a couple of hours sleep so I want to know that the appt. I have is in person and not a phone. I have already had the phone appt. and would like to see someone in person. Please let me know by email or phone to set this straight. I have been bounced around already once before. Thanks.
Mr. Laurence Larsson 541-476-8904
yes - I received one from them as well - they hung up before I could tell them my number is on the dnc list and I would report them should they call again
This is not AmericanVoice.Com calling members it is Social Security office. AmericanVoice.Com does not call members only faxes all Lawmakers free.
Actually, it's the Social Security administration on an automated line------they are persistent but definitely well meaning!
Understand people it is from the social security administration office. government office. they are calling to remind someone of there appointment that give what ever number to contact them by. people do understand some people chang their numbers or it can be a telephone number that is off by a number or so this is not a scam. if you are awaiting for trial is a good thing to pick up and listen for the reminder message or you will miss your court day. if you did not get the confirm letter in the mail.
Concerning a social security appointment
it is the Social Security Administration
They started calling me yesterday. I have not answered any of the calls. If I don't know them, I don't answer. I'm in TN and according to notes below this is from SS. I don't have any appointments set, so I am going to ignore them.
was a recording regarding a form that had been sent out to be filled out and sent back. i did not receive a form to me or my husband...if this is a legal thing they should send another one or explain if it was for some one else .my grandson sometimes receives mail here but again i have seen nothing from s.os. office..thank you Grace Edmond
grace edmond Oct 11th, 2010
Didn't answer because I never pick up on strange callers. If I don't know them I don't answer. Couldn't be calling me for Social Security because I am in my 20's and live alone and not disable so what's the deal?

Caller Id.: "American Voice"

Phone call was recieved at 1337 (1:37 pm) central on the 30th of August, 2010. There was a voice recording on the line stating a court hearing notice for the 1st of september in the state of Virginia. Actions requested to be taken were "press 1 if you recieved a notice, press 2 if you did not recieve a notice".
Mizzle2010 Aug 30th, 2010
They got me to today said there from social sercurity
Sandy Huffman Jul 26th, 2010
Completely legit. As you've guessed by now, it was a reminder of a Social Security hearing next week.
I think it is Social Security confirming an appointment..
Social Security confirming appt.
Call was to confirm meeting with Social Security tomorrow.
I missed the call, saw the number on my ID and tried to call back, but got that the number was invalid.
Since I do have an appointment with Social Security on Monday, it would appear that this is the company contracted to make sure of contacting us. Would be nice of them to leave a message, though.

I call this number back and it was for Social Security
I Got a call from this number stating that it was from social security about prescription benefits. I had no idea what they were talking about. They I received information in the mail about this. Well if i did and it was social security from Texas then I threw it away. I don't live in Texas.
On my caller id. I did have a S. S. appt. the next day. But why would they not leave a message on my answering machine anybody else would about appt's????????!!!!!! We need to let S. S. & the Better Business Bureau know!
I didn't answer the call from American Voice, 972-497-1400. I thought it strange that they would call twice within an hour. The web says American Voice is a radio station in Texas. I didn't look further to see if there any other businesses with the same name.
This is who you are dealing with!! SCUM
FF - Paramedic Aug 20th, 2009
I got two calls from this number on 08/11/09.It said Texas on the caller id and when I picked it up there was nobody on the other end. I doubt it was Social Security like others have claimed. I have gotten calls from Social Security before and the caller id said US goverment or Social Security.
My call was a legitimate call reminding me of an appointment at local ss office. I did not answer the first call, looked it up here and when that number called again I answered. It was a computer calling not a real person.
Yeah - for me it was a reminder about an upcoming interview with the Social Security office. Legit. Not a scammer.
from austin Jul 15th, 2009
Caller ID showed American Voice.
Female voice robot said they'd recently sent a letter regarding prescription benefits and i should respond.
i called the number they left, 800-772-1213
, got a recording said "social security".
Their automated message also said "go to www.socialsecurity.gov" which i did and it wouldn't load.
Social security is instead www.ssa.gov which did load.
i believe it's aome high end fraudsters.
Obviously a contracted company for SSA. A wake up call, if you will. I wanna know what happens to the list ? And WHO is buying them ? I am amazed, we now use these kinds of services for gov't biz. Unbelieveable !! Does anyone know who owns this company or ? Or place of origin ?
Left voice mail that suggested someone in the house had a phone interview appointment with Social Security tomorrow. No one in the house has any appointment, so our gut suggested scam. Interesting that other folks seemed to receive legitimate reminders.
my husband passed away in april last year. got uncerimoniously thrown out of his parents house, where he & i had been forced to live because he was disabled, 2 months after his passing. a couple of months ago his parents recieved a phone call from some company or whatever calling themselves american voice. they said they were looking for me about trying to get me my late husband's social security. my husband had been disabled since 1997 had filed 10 different times & was denied all 10 times. every time i try to call the number i was given either i get a busy signal or a voice telling me that my call canno't be completed. i am in a desperate struggle to survive without ending up out on the streets. it sounded like i finally might be able to get someone to help me but after reading all of these other posts i'm beginning to think that this american voice thing is nothing but a scam. i really don't know what else i can do or where else to turn for ANY sort of help. i'm going to end up on the streets & most likely will end up dying there.
Got a call, March 24, 2009 asking me to confirm appearance in court. Pressed 2 since I did not get notice. Then system asked for name and phone number, which they just called, then asked for ss#.....Whoa! This is a scam to get numbers and may not actually originate in USA.
This was a missed call on my cell.
voice message received: This is from the office of disability, judication and review, Judge Hatfield. Reminder of hearing in long beach, ca on January 21. Press 1 if you received a notice, press 2 if you did not receive a notice.
It was a reminder about an upcoming appointment at Social Security
This was actually the contractor for the SS office reminding me to show up for my appointment. In my case, this was not a scammer.
Will Sterr Dec 16th, 2008
This is a legitimate call. As soon as we got the call, we called the return number to check and see if it was true and it IS the SSI Administration. A family member had applied for benefits and it is an 'automated call' . The message does say that it could be an error if you have already spoken to them, but they go from original time the appt was entered.
FINALLY a legitimate call--
THANKS FOR THIS WEBSITE

Automated recording reminder about an appointment with Social Security
O.K. this phonecall was legitt.I do have a app.for social-security on monday.american voice, reminded me,or what number to call in case i can't make it.very strange the the have to use a company in Texas,i live in NJ.
Call from the Social Security Administration reminding me of an upcoming interview.
Recorded message confirming Social Security appointment
Phone rang 3 times and they hung up. No message left.
scam regarding a hearing date...asked for social security number on a machine.
Got the call a while back (6/08/07 10:12am). Looked up the number it lead me here. Something about Social Security. My mother died the month before we got the call, tried calling them but an automated voice goes "Invalid number, please try again". F'n weirdos!!!!
the number called and said something about having a court meeting in front of a judge which i knew nothing about then it asked to press 1 or 2 then after pressing 1 it asked for name and social security number. that makes me very uncomfortable
On 8-9-07, I got the same call that "private" did: It was a pre-recorded voice mail from the "Office of Disability Adjucation & Review in Minneapolis, MN calling to remind you of your court date in front of Judge William G. Brown on Monday, August 20 at 1:00pm. Refer to your notice of hearing for the exact location. Please arrive 1/2 hour before your hearing. If notice of hearing was received, press 1, If notice of hearing was not received, press 2." - ????
Call came at 11:14am on 7-26-07. In a rare instance, the wife picked up the phone on an unknown identity. But....it was from the Social Security Administration reminding her of an appointment the following day.
