i think its funny that you say to check the DLA with this agency. They are a non reporting agency. They don't even appear on your CBR. the 2 reps i dealt with at this office were more than helpful and they gave me everything in writing. what you need to do is make a site about debt management companies being worse than collection agencies. We wouldn't entirely disagree with your assessment on debt management firms...

These were the first I ever came into contact with. They are rude calling 25 to 30 times a day. Finally they got me to pay money. Big Mistake. That was before I became smart and understand I have rights. They are thugs and will lie to you about everything. They also ever give you anything in writing.

We have been dealing with United Recovery Systems on my husbands Credit card debt. They were calling numerous times a day. One time they called over 11 times in one hour. They contacted my husbands employer even after being asked by my husband and the employer to stop. They contacted our neighbor, parents, and siblings. We were already in contact with them so they were not trying to locate us. I eventually came to an agreement with them after much negotiating with a manager in the organization. He was really helpful, very courteous on the phone and I thought our problems were over. We have made two payments as agreed that are automatically taken out of our checking account each month. Yesterday we received a call from the company telling us that unless we could settle the debt that day they were sending a 1099C form to the IRS stating that our unpaid debt was considered non wage income and we would be taxed on it. I tried explaining to the lady that we were paying on the debt. That we had an agreement in writing and we had not breached the agreement. She said I had 15 minutes to call her back with the payment or she was submitting the form. I asked to speak with the manager whom I had already dealt with. He assured me that this form would not be sent and that it was not actually even intended for that purpose but is instead used if we settle the debt for a lessor amount. He assured me he would look into the matter and that it would not happen again.

These people are RELENTLESS. Dana Dean and Elizabeth Mitchell call my home, place of employment, cell phone up to twelve times a day. When I told them that I simply cannot afford the debt, they told me they wanted to sue me for fraud. They then called a member of my family and told them about the debt and encouraged them to file a police report! Then when Dana phoned again I told her that she was in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and she hung up on me... And the games continue...

This is a debt collector that harasses people by calling your neighbors, co-workers (until you get fired because of them) and anybody your family has ever even remotely known.

They try to embarrass you and ruin you life as much as possible on behalf of Discover card and others.

The people who should be held to account are the ones who hire them to do what they do.

There should be a class action lawsuit against Discover card for this unsavory business policy.

The best thing to do is ignore them because if you return one of their calls then they will know that you will respond to their tactics and will increase the level of harassment and embarrassment to an even greater degree.

If you must complain then call:
Mr. Sean Keegan
National Marketing Director
713-977-1234 ext.3718
713-458-4926

or

Mr. Jim Crawford
Vice President Sales and Marketing
