How is it that ''unknown'', ''Joanne'', ''Catherine'', ''Rick'', ''Andy'', ''Sam'', ''Cathy'', and ''Amandeep'' all have the same story over a 3.5 year period? You know, about what swell peaches with perfect diction are found at the legally compliant NCI call center? These are all shill posts from a single source.

NCI has a long history of collection behavior which is devious, hostile, and illegal. In October 1998 it was the first debt collector to attract a seven-figure penalty from the FTC -- one mil for FDCPA violations. NCI has been named as a Defendant in federal courts about 55 times within the past twelve months. That figure has held steady from the prior five years, with about 4.5 cases per month in 35 states. The cases primarily involve claims under FDCPA, FCRA, and TCPA. Imagine getting sued almost every week of every year, then telling everyone with a straight face how ''legitimate'' you are.

Whether you are called a debtor or some collector thinks you can flush one out, you have rights and options. Most are simple to exercise if you only learn how. The FTC and the CFPB can start you on your homework. See also if your state laws grant additional or stronger rights.

This is a collection agency call. They say they are collecting for American Express. All agents are foreign and understand little english. Also calls under 888-297-7414. Don't deal with them - since they are calling from a foreign country, they rarely follow the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and will likely stoop to any level to get your money &/or identifying information. If you know what they are calling about call the creditor directly and disregard these parties whom don't identify themselves but request for you to identify yourself intimately.

Jeff is correct, those Indian callers are rude and ignorant, they need to learn English before calling America, in fact they whole collection agency business is very corrupt, the law shows they have no pull at all, they can do nothing at all.
They cannot touch your bank account, wages, home, vehicle, income tax returns, nothing, all they can do is threat, but only if you answer the phone.
Make them talk to your answering machine,it's all they deserve.

Jeff you got it right, thanks for your post.

Jeff is correct in the fact that we should not be giving our jobs to foreign countries. We need to keep the money in our own country.

I have no idea y jeff is acting so worked up on this situation. I have dealt with NCI and I have had no issues with their language. I am a speech therapist and they sound extremely clear and rather speak better english than we americans do. They follow the proper grammar. So I guess jeff its you who does not know how to speak the right way. You will be upset cos you owe a debt and dont wanna pay it, so dont slam people who are doing their jobs right. If u have so many issues with these people just deal with your original creditor directly. Stop being a racist, you are not in the 17th century to be talking the way you are doing right now. Pay back the freaking money you owe, instead of passing wiseass racist comments against people. Seriously, people like you make us Americans look racist and rude. A@@Hole!!!

I have gone back and forth as to if I should sue them or not. The complete conversation was recorded and there is a disclosure at the beginning of the call. I am trying to get things paid off but if 1 person files a lawsuit or gets a judgment against me I am filing bankruptcy. It is amazing, the companies who respect me and help and don

Jeff is correct! This is shady company, and it is easier to work with the creditor directly. I do owe Amex money they are willing to settle an 18000.00 balance for 3200.00 and report it as paid in full legally for less than what is owed. However if I can

I dont knw why you people have a problem with people from india...i myself am a former debt collector for NCI...we follow strict rules and regulations as to guidelines set by AmEx..
as well as we strictly follow the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)..if you think we are going to stoop so low to get your money YOU ARE SO WRONG...
