I READ SOME COMMENTS BELOW AND NOTICED SEVERAL PEOPLE LINKING A STEVE CHAPA TO THE AUTO WARRENTY CALLS. HERE IS SOME CONTACT INFO FOR THEM. THERE IS A STEVE CHAPA JR & SR
1052 S Cloverleaf Dr
Saint Peters, MO 63376
called yesterday when i was working, i asked the name of the company and he told me "warranty helpdesk", i then asked him how they get their numbers and he hung up on me.
These callers are NOT trying to sell auto warranty but a fake front for some scumbags. *If they were trying to sell something they would talk to you or send you something, even if they don't have a call back number.* This is a fake front to give calls to harass few people and its just made to call several people so its hard to pin point. Name of this scumbag is Ed Liu, but until there is proof, report these to your police, get them traced, file complaint with your phone company, FCC, BBB and as many bureaus.

Please file report with the police about these calls, everyone. The name of the motherfucker behind these calls needs to be arrested.

this number called my phone. it left no voicemail. i tried to call back and the number was diconnected. i googled the number and found this website, apparantley this number scams people into buying warranties for your car. i dont own a car.
Have received so many of these calls on my cell phone only that it's not even funny. Too many numbers to track saying the same thing. My car is 11 years old and has been out of warranty for more than half the time I've owned it. I just don't answer the phone anymore if I don't know the number - then if it's a business call (I must use my cell phone for work) I call back from the message left.
Spoke with Mike. Asked for the 5th time to stop calling and remove from list.
Rcvd call on my cellphone. I didn't answer it and no message was left on my voicemail.
When asked for their location/address, all the guy said was "Atlanta Georgia" and claimed he wasn't authorized to provide more information. When I pressed the issue (explaining that Google and Facebook (as an example) provide contact information to their head office) he hung up.
He also claimed that he was the supervisor when I had earlier said I wished to talk to his supervisor.
I'm considering starting a site to track this particular scam... A place to track all information we have and collect numbers they have used. More info later (if I get it up).
warranty BS called me today. used to get these same calls a lot and then it died down. this is the first one in many months.
TO EVERYBODY THAT GETS A CALL FROM THIS #!!!! FEB.26,2009
THE CALLS STARTED IN THE MIDDLE OF OCT 2008 AND THEY SAY THAT THIS IS THE LAST CHANCE TO GET THE CAR WARRANTY. NOW ITS AT THE END OF FEB 2009, THEY ARE STILL AT IT. LOOKS TO ME THEY ARE TRYING TO GET MY MONEY. I HAVE BEEN PRESSING 2 TO GET ME OFF THERE CALL LIST, THAN THEY USE A DIFFERENT # AGAIN
TRYING TO REACH ME. I HAD A CALL COME IN TWO DAYS AGO. I PRESSED ONE THIS TIME TO TALK TO A REP, SHE WAS VERY BUBBLY AT FIRST, UNTIL I TOLD HER THAT HER COMPANIES SYSTEM WAS MESSED UP, AND I WOULD LIKE FOR HER TO PLEASE REMOVE MY NUMBER PERSONALLY WHILE I WAS ON THE PHONE WITH HER. SHE DECIDED TO HANG UP ON ME.
I USE TO WORK FOR A COLLECTIONS AGENCIES A FEW MONTH AGO. I KNOW THE LEGAL SYSTEM. PLUS THE COLLECTIONS AGENCY THAT I WORKED FOR IF YOU HAD THAT NUMBER ON YOUR CALLER ID AND DECIDED TO CALL IT BACK YOU WOULD GET THE COMPANIES NAME AND YOU WOULD GET A REP ON THE LINE! THIS COMPANY HOWEVER YOU DONT GET ANYONE AT ALL. IF ITS REALLY A COMPANY THAT IS ATTEMPTING TO SELL THE CAR WARRANTY THAN YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO CALL BACK AND GET A REP. WHEN I TRIED CALLING THE NUMBER BACK THAT THEY CALLED ME FROM. THE MESSAGE SAID THAT THIS NUMBER IS NO LONGER A WORKING NUMBER PLEASE HANG UP, CHECK THE NUMBER AND TRY AGAIN
HERE ARE SOME POINTERS:
1 YOU GET A REP ON THE LINE AND TELL THEM TO TAKE YOUR NUMBER OUT, AND THEY DONT,ITS NOT LEGAL
2 IM IN CENTRAL TIME ZONE AND THEY HAVE CALLED ME PAST 10PM AND ANOTHER TIME THEY CALLED ME AT 6AM, NOT LEGAL.
3 DONT NOT TELL THEM ANYTHING ABOUT YOU OR YOUR CAR.. NOTHING!!!!
1 TRY TO GET THEM TO SEND YOU A LETTER
2 TRY TO GET A WORKING # TO CALL BACK ON
3 TRY TO GET THE COMPANIES NAME
4 GET A MANAGER ON THE LINE!!!!!
***IF ANYONE WANTS TO GET A CAR WARRARNTY PLEASE GO TO YOUR CLOSEST DEALERSHIP, TALK TO THEM, DO NOT GO THROUGH THIS GAME WITH THIS COMPANY, YOU HAVE NO PROOF!!***
LOOK AT THE OTHER COMMENTS THAT PEOPLE HAVE MADE, SOME OF THEM DONT HAVE VECHILES, SO WHY WOULD THEY BE CALLING, JUST TO MESS YOU AROUND, GET YOUR MONEY, AND EVERYHTING ELSE YOU HAVE WORKED HARD FOR. LIKE I HAVE SAID I WAS IN COLLECTIONS AND I KNOW THE LEGAL SYSTEM, WHAT THEY ARE PULLING IS NOT LEGAL, DO NOT LET THEM FOOL YOU. SO UNTIL I OR SOMEBODY IS ABLE TO SHUT THIS COMPANY DOWN THEY WILL KEEP CALLING YOU.
TRUST ME I KNOW HOW FUSTRATING THIS IS, JUST TRY NOT TAKE IT OUT ON THE REPS, THEY ARE JUST LIKE US TRYING TO MAKE A WAGE, THEY JUST DONT UNDERSTAND THAT THE PEOPLE THAT IS GIVING THEM THERE PAY CHECKS ARE TAKING AVANTAGE OF GOOD PEOPLE LIKE YOU AND I.
I got a call from this number tonight on my cell I dont even own a car and I only have a permit to drive and I am in KY so I am no where near where the company is supposedly at.
Nothing specific yet but still working on it.
If anyone gets a call like this again, take this advice from www.killthecalls.com, and post any info you get here!
"When those bloody calls come in, your blood starts to boil and all you want to do is scream at them. I tell you right now...DON'T! These people are trying to make a sale. Convince them you actually wish to buy their crappy product or service. They will be so happy that you have not cursed and hung up on them - like the previous callers - that they will love to stay on the phone with you. The key is to get the information as to who they are (or who is contracting out their services, as such folks are equally culpable) and thus failing the complaint or taking them to court.
"You most definitely DO NOT want to give out real information about who you are, such as your name, social security number, etc. Instead get yourself setup with an online fax account (see links on the right of each page pf this site). Tell the telemarketer that you are REALLY interested in whatever overpriced garbage they are trying to sell you, but tell them that you must receive something in writing (use any excuse under the son - say you have a hearing impairment - whatever it takes). If they will send you something in writing (via facsimile or email), than you will have more information to track down the responsible parties or to file a complaint. In the case of those awful car warranty calls, ask them for a copy of the warranty to be faxed or emailed to you. Unless they are a 100% scam-based outfit that is just taking money but not actually selling anything, the warranty paperwork will have the name and addres of the company underwriting the warranty. Bingo! There is the party you take to court or file a complaint against."
A bit of googling and going through comments such as these are pointing to a company called "My Progressive Warranty" at 25 Crescent Dr Pleasant Hill CA 94523. I believe this could be true as I'd also been told that the company was in "southern CA" when I asked for the name of the company and their location. Pleasant Hill is near Oakland... but obviously we should take whatever the company tells us with a large grain of salt.
I'm attempting to retaliate in some way and will post results and recommendations here if I find any.
Scam trying to sell car warranties.
They called my Skype-Out phone number - Skype has a "Block This Number" feature, so unless they call from a different number I should not hear from them again...I wonder why more systems don't have a "Block This Number" feature - maybe only VOIP's have sufficient database access to do that.
Got a call on my cell phone 10 minutes ago.
NO one has my cell phone number so I guess they were just trying computer generated-numbers hoping they'd 'get lucky'.
Thanks for previous feedback, team!
The robomessage said this is my second notice that my vehicle warranty is about to expire.
Call me all the time I just ignore them
Taking some fo the info from the person below I found Steve Chapa, Realtor has the domain registered vehicleservices.net.
Odd Realtor selling scam warrentys
Received a call from this # on my cell on 2/24/09. My cell # is even on the do not call registry list so don't know who sold them my cell number. I tried calling the # back and got a recording saying that the number I was trying to reach had been disconnected.......go figure!!
Dipshits ..... I've been getting similar calls for couple of years now .... somebody sold my cell no. Only if I could find out who sold my number ....
Got a call today 2/24/09 they left a message about a car warranty expiring.
I called the number back but it was busy. The call came on my mother's cell
phone and she doesn't own a vehicle nor does she give her cell number out
for anything other than family. U.S. Cellular
i have gotten a call from them probably 5 times in the last 4 months they say they are taking me off the list but they never do im sure it is a scam i wonder how many people they get to fall for it that may never even find out
stupid butt holes keep calling me
These calls are driving me nutz! I am sick of it.
I didn't answer it. I googled the number since I didn't recognize it. And found this website.
Caller Type: Telemarketer
Phone Number Owner: Warranty Help Desk
Phone Number Report: T Mobile prepaid owner - never again! Service is good but they must have sold my cell phone number and that just not acceptable! Last few months have been really bad. No problem at 1st but now my phone doesn't stop. Last few days I received calls from: 443-461-1097
Car Max 847-232-3321
- Teleeurope bv Illinois 770-843-8406
Extended warranty 973-751-0835
Utah collection agency 310-361-7110
Car warranty 877-728-9891 Problem with me warranty The FCC or other reps need to do something about this fast. Cellphone companies better start to realize that this nonsense will lead to many cancellations & they can't afford to lose any business. T Mobile, AT & T, etc. fix this problem. Thanks.
Apparently w/ these hard economic times there are people out there doing whatever they can to scam honest folks. I got this scam just this morning along w/ an American Express scam last week.
THIS IS WHAT ALL OF US SHOULD DO TO GET THESE CREEPS. GO TO:
AND FILE A COMPLAINT W/ THE FCC. If enough people complain maybe they may investigate these scammers & prosecute them.
WHAT TO DO Feb 21st, 2009
I didn't answer it. Called back & recording said the # was disconnected. I don't drive a car.
Car warranty scammer with fake callback number as usual.
didn't answer - tried to call back, but, got a busy tone.
tired of it Feb 21st, 2009
I believe these people get the cell phone # from auto trader web sites. I've never had this number call me until I sold my truck on auto trader.
Apparently some kind of phone scam (phishing). I do not have a warranty on my vehicle.
See the report on this number from http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-877-728-9891; apparently it's another "your car warranty is expiring" scam call.
Number disconnected on call back
This number came up on my trac phone. This number has only been given to family members and close friends. When I see the number show up, I don't answer it.
When I hear the recording, I hit 1 and wait for the scumbag to pick up. When they do I quickly tell them "F...You this is a scam" and hang up. I don't think it will really help until they get 1000's of such profane remarks. Unfortunaly I know it's just some guy trying to make a living on the phone, but they are part of the problem. Too Bad! Take your frustration out on them. It's fun! They may be annoying you, but who are they ripping off. Your Mom, Brother, Neighbor...They deserve much worse.
Below is a list of other numbers I get calls from.
I fell for it. Sort of.
This number came up on my cell phone. I answered it before I saw the number.. got the "This is the 2nd notice for car warranty." Now, the weird thing is.. the dealership where I bought my car went out of business a few days ago.. so I was thinking this might have something to do with that... but.. just an ugly coincidence. I gave my name, address, and phone number. Talked to 3 different people.. girl (forget her name, who "verified" my information), Kevin, and Bruce. Kevin directed me to the website www.vehicleservices.net.. told me to disregard the "website under construction" signs. This had scam written all over it, lots of high pressure.. I made note of the number on the website, which is 866-925-1783
. This is VSI Vehicle Services, Inc. Apparently a total scam.. I hope I didn't give them too much information. They offered me a full bells and whistles warranty for 7 years on a 7 year old vehicle. I think I've still got a year left on mine.
They rang my cell phone. I called them back and got a recording that said the number was disconnected.
Caller called twice, missed both calls, no message left.
2nd notice that my car warranty is about to expire... don't own a car ... reported
Just got a call from this number today. I need to figure out how to block it from our ShoreTel system.
Good Heavens. Second time in two days. These people, whoever they are, need to be put out of business.
calls every other day 3x. i don't answer restricted numbers or no names on caller id.

These "warranty" calls are scams, and are a way for a con artist to convince people to give up information that can then be used in identity thefts. Car manufacturers & dealers almost never call to notify you of a expired warranty. If they did, they would have all the information already in their files, and would have no reason to ask for you.
i dont know what note " this is the second notice of your vehicle warranty expiration " and i call back , nobody say anything, stupid !!!
ugh they dont stop calling me about warranty crap
Call began... "This is the second notice of your vehicle warranty expiration."
I receive calls from this number almost daily.
Have gotten numerous phone calls regarding car warranty. Today they called my cellphone. I've asked that they remove my name from their calling list and have spoken to the sales person and told them this amounted to harassment. I would like to file a harassment complaint with some federal agency. Would that be FCC?
Receiving weekly calls, got a call but nobody said anything. Call back, "All circuits busy."
got a phone call but nobody said anything
Received a call and when I called back it was a fast busy signal. This number has called multiple times of the past few weeks.
Call to sell Car warranty , I have no car or do not drive.
They have a few numbers that come up on the caller ID.
Call about car warranty running out. We have no car warranyty.
got calls from this number before. selling car warranty (cold calls) they have no info but keep calling back pain in the neck....
Called my cell phone repeatedly. Finally wasted my minutes and listened to one of the voice mails. It is for a warranty..... I realized it was just a waste of my minutes & hung up, not listening to the rest of the message. This is such BS!
They called my cell phone with a recorded message that our auto's warranty had expired. I'd received the message before so this time I pressed one to talk to someone. I asked which vehicle it was regarding and said they don't have that information but do I have a vehicle between 1999 and 2007. I asked him to remove me from the call list and in order to do that I had to give him my number so he could mark it to remove (probably not a smart move on my part).
They called my cell phone which I never answer. I then called the number (from Skype so it wouldn't give them my number) and the message said "press 802 for sales or 801 to be removed from the calling list". There is no indication of what company this is or what they're selling. I called back several times and can't reach a human.
Oddly, this number doesn't appear anywhere in a Google search which is rather unusual for random telemarketing calls.
