credit protection is not licensed in any state I could find. I have been researching this company since I had to default on my loan with payday max. your personal banking info you give these payday loan sites are shared or sold to one another. vantage funding and your loan funding started taking money from my account. I had never heard of these companies until they took my money. they will not refund your money no matter what they say. I closed my account and paid off all my loans via prepaid debit card but credit protection depot wanted 1440.00 from me for a 600.00 loan. I paid all but 100.00 of the 600.00. My first payment to payday max was 150.00 and only 25.00 went to the principle. I refuse to give them another cent. They can take me to court in the state of Minnesota if they like. Attorney General Lori Swanson would love to have a conversation with them. They do not have a license in MN nor do they comply with the banking laws of MN. Maybe that is why the are being sued by Pennsylvania, Oregan, Illinoise and several other states. You can find this information on the internet all you have to do is google the company and read back 6-8 pages. worst mistake I ever made getting involved with payday max. now that I know the are affiliated with my cash now and discount advances I don't feel bad about not paying all of the 600.00 They can take if from all the inflated fees I paid to my cash now, discount advances.

Theses guys are a scam and the FBI, FCC, Texas Attorney General’s Office and BBB have all been alerted. This is part of an elaborate scam run by a handful of people in one office who have roughly ten different 866, 877, 800 numbers and go buy about ten different company names. Sometimes they pose as a Payday Loan place trying to collect on a loan that they say that you took out - but in reality you did not, the next time they pose as a Credit Protection Place, and the next time a Collections Company trying to collect on an old bill that you say paid off years ago.
In every instance they say that you owe them money and they want your personal information. The money (if you pay it - but did not owe) is a bonus for them. What they are really after though is your personal information of which they piece together to eventually do ID theft on you.
How they work is over a course of say a month you will get various calls from these guys, about two calls per day from different 866, 877, 800 numbers from these folks posing as different businesses. In each case they say you owe money that you do not, and they need your personal information.
What do you do - DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY, and DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION. Just tell them they got the wrong number and hang up. Then file a formal complaint with the FCC, Attorney General’s Office, and BBB.

Have received many calls from this number. We are on Do Not Call registry and still get calls. I thought by registering my number they were not permitted to call.

I constantly get calls for a person (who never paid his bills) who apparently used to have the same phone number as I have now. This is what I found for 866-645-1661.
