These people keep calling but never leave a message. In the last couple of weeks these numbers have called. . wireless caller 224-545-5813 and no info shown except unknown name - 312-492-4309 , Illinois - 312-470-6679, illinois 773-598-5719, 716-990-6232, illinois 312-470-6696, toll free 1-800-531-5000, illinois 312-470-6656, unknown name 224-374-1360, antioch illinois 847-603-4524

I have called to find how who they are and the name of the business said is not intellgible - muffled- but sounds like Danania & assoc - something like that (I am just guessing at the spelling) and if they go on to say by continuing to listen you are agreeing to talk to them and that their business in part deals with debt collection blah blah. We have never received any mail from this entity to anyone else . We have no outstanding debts. Zilch, nada I called one number, listed to their introductory message and got a customer service person. I told them I don’t know who they are, they never leave a message, we have received no communication from them, we are on the do not call list, I am not agreeing to have any communication with them, and to stop calling us, and all of these numbers are being reported to the federal do not call list for violating the do not call law, and reporting them for violating the fair debt collection practices law. The woman I talked to was rude and wouldn’t say who the business is. Although they do not warrant a call back, call and talk to a customer service and do as I do and say the same. Then Report them for violating the debt collection practices law.

And if you haven't put your name on the do not call list, do so right away. All numbers including cell numbers opt out of all credit card company info sharing with non required 3rd parties.

This is frustrating. The message that is left, when they leave one, is that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that we should call back as soon as possible. We don't have DirecTV, so when the call went to them, I was sure it was for another person who seems to be using our number. We get a lot of collection phone calls for the same person, someone that we don't know. But, DirecTV didn't have any record of our phone number and of course, no account information or any knowledge of calling us. Their suggestion was to answer and ask who it is that is calling and who they are trying to reach. I'm just tired of all the phone calls. So, who is calling and how do I get the calls to stop? Is there a way of reporting all of the collection calls, not only from this number, but all of them calling for this girl? I thought that I had finally gotten to the end of them, but now they are starting up again. I've considered changing my number, but I was told once that sometimes that can be as bad if not worse.

This was Direct TV. They call every week and they called twice today. I tried putting my number on the Nationial Do Not Call list, and they call anyway. I tried calling them back and got the Voice Activated Response run-around. It finally gave me a number to call, where there was just DEAD SILENCE. it is 800/531-5000. They are good at shit canning angry callers. I don't have an account with Direct TV, I will never have an account with Direct TV and they can go to HELL!!!

For Customers, Call DirecTV back on their 800 number. Ask them to be put on the internal Do-Not-Call List they have for their customers. They do have one. When you call them back it is on their dime. Try to keep the rep on-line as long as possible, the burdened overhead for phone reps is 80 bucks per hour.

I didn't answer but they left a voicemail and said it was DirecTV. It was a call in response to an email I sent them questioning why new customers get offered such sweet deals (my mom got a thing in the mail offering four rooms free installation, free upgrade to HD DVR, 150+ channels for only $23.99 until 2011, and a $100 prepaid Visa card), and those of us who have been with them for years get nothing. I said if that is the case, I am going to see who has a good deal for me if I'm a new customer and maybe I'll switch to Dish or Comcast. They wanted me to call them, and I told them I can't because I get people where we have a complete barrier where they don't understand me, I don't understand them, and we get nowhere so I don't call anymore. Guess they decided to call me. Wish I'd have answered to see what they had to say for themselves!

This is definately a SCAM , I do have DirecTv and have never had an outstanding balance. These SCAM artists made the mistake of calling on the same day I get my DirecTv bill. It showed $0 past balance so there was no doubt. While they were on the phone I also logged into DirecTv's website to my account and it showed "Current Balance:$0.00" There is also a "Payment History" button, it showed no bill had ever been overdue. Never Never Never give these guys a credit card number. If you do have a balance due, you can pay on DirecTv's site securely. Don't be a chump, ALWAYS contact DirecTv using their site or the number on your bill. Mine shows 1-800-531-5000
Never give your credit card to someone that calls you saying they are DirecTv, hang up and call DirecTv's number off your bill that way you know you are REALLY talking to DirecTv

Direct Tv needs to stop calling their customers! The system they use hangs up on you after 10 after you answer. They are calling to offer additional services that you do not have, but what is going to happen is they are Pissing their customers off. Lets remember their are many other companies that offer the same services. I wish the so called Executives who come up with these ideas, might want to figure out that they are over paid for the their skill and knowledge! I was a Director of National Call Centers and Business Sales and I would never allow these kind of mistakes to ever happen. I had a problem with a service interruption but I thought it was on the night of 10-21-2008. DVR was off and took some tries to get it back on. I didn't miss any scheduled recordings though as I didn't have anything set up for that day of the week.

I thought it was nice of them to have an automated message call about it, at least.

Call DirecTV at 800-531-5000 and tell them to take your phone number off their promotional calls list. While you're at it, tell them to take your name and address off their promotional mail list.

The federal Do Not Call list does you no good if you have a customer relationship with DirecTV. To stop these calls, call them and tell them to take your number off their list. Ask the rep for their employee number. They're required to give it to you if you ask for it. This lets them know you're serious.

maybe we should flood his office with calls. cause I paid my bills on time and they gave me terrible service, terrible install guys, terrible equiptment, I spent at least 20 hours in 3 months on the phone because their billing dept and techs screwed up our service so bad we cancelled it. I am not broke or poor, Direct TV has NO EXCUSE for the way they treated me and my family and I will not ever pay their "illeged" termination fee, especially after being a customer for almost 4 years on a 2 year contract, their "automatic renewal" is illegal and was not authorized in any way signed or verbally. I'd rather file bankruptcy and ruin my credit than pay them a dime.

Ok.. As many comments made, it's DirectTV. I called their 800-531-5000, got their automated crap asking for your phone number.. i let it error out 3 times, then it asked for "why" you were calling.. I stated "Customer Service".. then it asks more detail, I just said "Promotional removal" (just made it up, probably didn't matter).. It then transferred me to a live person, told them I wasn't a customer anymore and was getting their promotional calls and wanted to be removed, she asked for my phone number I used to have an account with, she pulled it up and said she was taking me off their list for phone calls and snail-mail. She said it may take 1-2-3 days to stop as it cycles down to their call centers but it would be removed. You have to do about 3-4-5 minutes of work but worth it for the to stop! Hope that helps..

Called this number again and talked to a DirecTV representative who reassured me that they have escalated my "do not contact" status despite being called by this number yet again.

Most likely it is an automated system trying to insure my ability to receive their new high-def channels launching soon. At least the number is easy to recognize. If they call from this number again, I'll answer it and see if that will take me out of the automated system and stop the calls.

I didn't answer because I didn't know who it was, just 800 number and the number or something like that. Research tells me this is direcTV, I am a direcTV customer, but my balance is ZERO so I know it's not a collection call. maybe they are trying to sell me something like an HBO package, who knows. I called the number back, but to select ANY of the menu options, I have to know WHY I am calling. Since I don't know WHY they are calling, I do not know WHY I am calling back so I could not select any of the option from the menu. I tried pressing zero over and over and it gave up and hung up on me. .... oh well.
