Just another bottom feeder buying up old out-of-SOL debts. The best recorse with these folks is to send them a debt validation request along with a cease telephone contact demand at the same time. 9 times out of ten, they will give up and simply sell the account off to some other 10th-party debt collecter. Also see listings for WWR under 800-286-9403 for more info on this outfit. They appear to be a law firm, but are pretty much a zombie debt collection agency (wolf) wearing sheep's (lawyer's) clothing.

Know your rights. Under FAIR DEBT COLLECTION ACT, it is illegal for Weltman, Weinberg and Reis to harass you by phone, not identify themselves as collection agency, or give impression they are law firm. You must send them certified cease communication letter, you can do this even if you owe the debt. But first demand that they send validate of debt. IF old they cannot collect on charge off. Please read you rights on US federal Trade commission website: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre18.shtm Do not let these guys harass you. IF you send letter and receive harassing calls afterwords you can sue, even if you owe the money. Take copy of certified letter and phone bill to state court.

This is a law association working as debt collectors, especially for junk debt buyers. Based in Ohio. They're known for their questionable practices, especially early morning calls. Name given to me was "Jocelyn"...but number to return was 800-286-9403.

They called me and stated that they are a law firm...Is this so? He said that we owed an old Wal-Mart credit card debt. I am trying to find their address so I can send them a stop calling us letter. Does anyone have their direct address...I looked it up and they have multiple locations. Can we demand proof of this debt...Never been through this before. HELP
