No, it is not always Comcast. Especially when they give you a slightly different number to call back. They are now doing with the telephone as what they do with the pishing (Hope I spelt that correctly) email. You cannot let your guard down. I once had some idiot call me telling me that they were about to shut off my xcel because I hadn't paid my bill - I had a huge credit balance.
Called multiple times in less than 15 mins, never left a message. I’m not now & never have been a Comcast customer so I’m sure it’s a cloned-# scam like others reported. Finally answered the phone ... but in another language that I speak. Presto, NO MORE CALLS, ha!

I suspect hackers trying to impersonate comcast. They left an 855-484-1450
number to call back on, which is close, but not comcast. Facebook search of that number brought up a bunch of Arabic which I could not read.
They somehow know that I'm waiting upon a call from the real comcast!

This number is Comcast. They were just calling to verify an appointment I have tomorrow.
whether this be Comcast OR not, if it is and this is the number to their service reps for appointments, rule one: I. AM. A. FORMER. COMCAST. CUSTOMER. I NO LONGER have an account with them. could be, they did not want to let go of my phone number. when they call, I don't answer the phone. rule #2: I WILL be changing my phone # in the next day or two to rid me of unwanted calls....hopefully. thanks for the input everyone. yes, THEY ARE RUDE customer service rep's for a company who keeps raising their cable rates every six or so months, particularly in an area they have a monopoly on when there are no other cable company's to compete with.
This is 100% Comcast. I have reported them over two dozen times for violation of Do Not Call, I have opted out by phone, in person, by email, and by Certified mail notice but Comcast just don't care. There is a reason they have been the second most hated company in the US for several years running.
Received call from Comcast concerning charges on statement that was not clear. Rep would not explain and when I tried to cancel service was told I could not because I am not listed on account. This is ridiculous! They have no problem what so ever accepting payment by me, so, why can't they explain their charges unless they have something to hide! I have ordered service from them, signed for service and had other reps give me information, so, I believe it's a little late to shut the barn door, so to speak, the donkey is out. i understand the privacy act and generally have no problems; but, to not give info onion account that I solely have taken care of is CRAP.

missed call from this number. no message. if this is comcast, i'm not sure what they want with me, as i haven't had cable since 2006.
I see many of you have been talking about the poor customer service from Comcast. I had a call from a rep who was very rude. He was trying to get me to pay on a balance that had cleared my bank several days before. I tried to explain this to him, and he said "That's what everyone says", then he got angry and when he said "Listen here" I hung up. UNBELIEVABLE! Unfortunately my condo association won't allow satellite dishes on the building or I'd be gone.
A guy calling from this # left a message saying my full name in a NON PROFESSIONAL WAY. Comcast just lost a customer!

Yes, it is Comcast. They have the poorest customer service I have experienced in a long time. I am shocked at how their employees are allowed to address clients! I had a bad feeling right from the 1st call that I made to possibly add some services. They tell you whatever you want to hear so that they can get you hooked up. It sounded like someone from a great distance who wanted to make his bonus no matter what "misinformation" he had to ply me with. Every call made had someone telling me something different, then there were the screw ups in my package and sending it and fees ... My goodness the fees!!!!!! They make them up as they go along!!!! I had a 15.00 fee for the " user installation fee!!!!" In other words, I set it up myself!!!! They said I could have free service to install but I'm familiar with the equipment so said I'd do it... and was charged for that!!! Where's my pay cheque??? I probably would have been charged for service as each person who made promises told me they didn't see the last promise on my file. I may be going to another company with satellite and Internet. APPALLING! Still can't get my head around the fact that such a bug company is so unprofessional ! If a company with great, professional, skilled people came in, I do believe that Comcast would lose customers more quickly. I might be the next one. Good luck! :-)
Its from comcast had 3 calls in 2 weeks, once to remind me of my bill, then to alert me for my service window, the final one was a survey, IT SPELLS COMCAST its the generic number that almost all departments call with, 2c 6o 6m 2c 2a 7s 8t
I have gotten calls from this number the past 3 nights between 8:30 & 8:50 pm. Automated message ask me to wait & be patient and then disconnects. Annoying!
Comcast has the worst customer service!! I called asking about a balance and the operator whose name was Nate started arguing with me. I had started by asking why there was a remaining balance on my account when I had just paid $136.00. He started talking over me and I asked him to stop he said, " Well I'm just doing to you what you have been doing to me this whole conversation." I asked to speak to his supervisor whose name is Ron and he was worse. I explained to him what happened and he sat on the other end silent. I asked him if he was really a supervisor or if he was just a friend sitting in the next cubicle to Nate, this must have touched a soft spot. He too started to argue with me and tried to end the conversation on many occasions. He was talking over me, back talking, and was telling me that I was wrong. How is it that customer service has resulted in such poor manners? I am extremely appalled at what service i received.
The people who say this is Comcast are correct. I had a service window today and they were calling to confirm it.
This was a legitimate call from Comcast to verify adding someone else to my account.
For us this was a legit call from ComCast cable, notifying us of the 2 hr window when a technician was coming out to our home for a service call.

Why can't anyone who claims to be a professional, especially an organization who claims to put their customer's satisfaction at the top of their list NOT be respectful and courteous enough to: 1- Use an identified phone number that shows who they are! And 2- Have the common decency to leave a proper message on the voicemail or answering machine of the person they called so we the call recipients can know who, what, and why???? I guess it is way too much to ask???!!!! Too bad they don't take the time to review what folks are saying about them on sites like this one. They wouldn't need to do surveys!!!!!

Blonde: No one else reading this page can ''put you on'' any list. These forums are strictly for call recipients to share their findings. They are NOT direct open channels to the phone bank boiler rooms we comment upon. Comcast, or whatever the call source, is not going to dutifully study online complaints and cannot magically determine which numbers should not be called based on anonymous comments.

Received a recorded notice about an upcoming planned service interruption. Message left.
I had issues this morning begining @ 06:30 EDT with intermittant connectivity and 'dog slow' when it was connected. on hold for 10-min. Hung up and called back @ 07:00 - was told it was my equipemnt they were showing a connection - my modem said not. They could only 'resolve' the issue by sending a tech tomorrow. @ 08:00 EDT the connectivity became consistent and also the speed picked up. At 09:40 EDT I received a call with no ID - I do't answer those - and there was no message left.
I guess from what everyone else is reporting, this must have been Comcast. I spoke with them today about reducing what they charge me on my cable bill. They graciously agreed to give me a $15 per month discount for 6 months when I told them they needed to do something to keep me from switching to satellite.
If you can't leave a message and don't show a name, don't call my cell phone!

The number is 800-COMCAST. Pretty self-explanatory.
Since the federal govenment is regulating everything these days, they ought to require companies that hide behind these 800 numbers (and for that matter the 877 and 866 numbers) show their true identity on the Caller ID. What's "unavailable" or "unknown"?? Nothing. The number(s) have been assigned to someone or some corporation, like Comcast. 'Fess up, you idiots. If you want my attention, let me know upfront who I am dealing with. Comcaset's ads claim to be so available to its customers. Then why the hell do they allow their robo-calls/follow up calls appear as "UNAVAILABLE"?! Contradictory, counter-productive, and beyond annoying.

. This number calls me. If it goes to voice mail I sometimes get no message. sometimes I get a very long message of background noise only then a hang up. A couple of times when I answered this call, I go long pauses then a hang up, and a couple of times I answered this call, I got a pre-recorded messages saying, thank you for calling Comcast. Yet I did not call them, they called me. The call my cell phone which is on the Do Not Call list. They also call my 2 home phones, both on separate numbers, and my business phone, a different fourth number. My cell phone and business lines are in separate area codes than my home phones. They call three different area codes and four different numbers, and I have yet to speak to any live customer service agent. So far I have gotten more than a dozen calls in the last three days.
This was a return call from Comcast Technical Support. When I contacted them @ 10:15 EDT, the technician indicated he would contact me in 15-minutes to verify the change in MAC address for the cable modem was successful and I was able to get to the internet with the new modem. Voice mail was logged @ 13:05 EDT.
This number called 3 times this morning (the first 2 calls were very early, and woke me up, but not in time to anser the phone). After figuring out it was Comcast, I waited for a 3rd call (which I knew was coming) before I called myself. The third call came in, and was an annoying robot asking me to take a survey regarding my recent customer service, or installation (whatever). The only problem is... I DON'T HAVE ANY COMCAST SERVICE! I called the number back, waited for about 5 minutes, and the lady supposedly put me on a Comcast do not call list. *SIGH*

It was Comcast, again. 9 times in 3 days. I had reported an outage resulting from Comcast fixing my neighbor's cable--it took my service down but fixed the neighbors. Anywauy, I flagged the Comcast tech down and he was great, checked my cable, said it was old and that he would request a replacemetn. In the meantime, he got me back up and running (I work at home and need this 7/24).
Comcast now seems to want to call but never talk. Its a robo-call and not a very smart one. Certainly Comcast can see my Internet traffic on the line from my Cable connection--why do they need to bother me to ask if its working? Trust me, I will call if it is not working! Pain in the ass.

Definitely Comcast. Automated system. I've had a few problems with my phone & tv service recently. The customer service people were great at helping me fix the problem when I called them. Unfortunately, the fact I called them with a problem must have been sent to their outbound telemarketing/customer service group who has bombarded me with calls over the last few weeks. It's unfortunate since I believe the company thinks they are providing better customer service by reaching out to "survey" us on how they handled our incoming call, when in fact - I believe they are alienating their customers with nothing more than nuisance calls. I just emailed them on the "Email Rick" link at www.comcast.com and asked to be removed from their outbound call list as I am also on the "National Do Not Call" list. If I want a call from Comcast (or anyone else), I'll ask for one.
They called, I answered, no reply, so I stayed on for 1 minute adn hung up..........dang comcast cant even reply to my hello, there the ones calling me, if I get another I will call them and ream a new one, imagine that
They called my house at 11pm to tell me my service had been restored, which I already knewn because the tv and net were back up. I had called customer service to report an outage earlier in the evening and they were now responding.

They didn't leave a message on my answering machine. I didn't answer because the Caller-ID doesn't say their name, just "TOLL FREE CALL". I would've answered if it said their name. Individual people are usually smart, but large companies (like street mobs) are as dumb as a bag of rocks!

They are calling several times per day. They don't leave a message and if you answer it, it's silent. I think it's comcast. I am trying to block it but I am having problems doing that.

Likely was Comcast, although they did not leave a message. Cable box was malfunctioning last night & I had set up a service appt. It was working fine today, so I called them today to cancel. They told me problem was their end.
Called to do an installation appointment confirmation. No message left so I called back. Had to press 0 repeatedly to get to a human.
It's definitely Comcast. I had scheduled a service call and I assume they are checking to if I'm happy. Oh, and the guy didn't show up -- the problem miraculously fixed itself!

Just one more indication of lack of customer service from Comcast. It's common courtesty to announce yourself when you call someone. Obviously, Comcast needs a lesson in etiquette.

2. I just talked to Mike 1.800.266.2278 in the retention department at comcast, and asked to opt out of their marketing calls, and it took him most of... 2 seconds to do it. a bit skeptic, I asked if that was it, and if it's effective immediately, he said YES.
WAIT! I think I was duped. this Mike didn't even ask for my name, phone number, account number, JUST my address... this sounds so fishy.

Comcast - something about channel changes. But what exactly, who knows? They idiotically programmed their robot to speak as soon as there's connection. But my recorder only recorded sound after my greeting's beep. So the most important first half of Comcast's message never recorded. What MORONS. Ya think they could program their robots to detect whether or not it's a person, or outgoing message, before it delivers its spiel. With customer service that stupid, they'll never get any upgrades from me - that's for damn sure!

Comcast calling to sell you a digital cable box.. I took years to get rid of the original cable boxes now they want to bring them back for digital.
Automated recording from Comcast, alerting me to a service change. (Around tomorrow's date, I'll no longer get TV Guide channel unless I get a converter box.) Tho' I usually hate recorded messages, I do appreciate this warning so I won't be mystified why the channel suddenly disappears from my lineup later this week.
