The phone is ringing, and I don't recognize the number, All Caller ID says is, "NAME UNAVAILABLE".
Please help me figure out who is calling and what they want
Don't call someone, then not say a damn word and hang up. If your scamming or wanting to get information, FYI your not going to get it. If you call me again I'm going to call Minnesota PD.
To: Jessica: One of their games is that they like to fake emergency phone calls. Their idea is that if they call at odd hours of the night, or the early hours of the morning, you will think it is a phone call about an emergency, and rush to pick up the call. Then they hit you with their garbage. The thing to remember is that these "monsters" are nevertheless making money, so they continue their nasty routines. How can you defend yourself against them? This site and other call complaint sites do post information about devices and practices you can use. Good luck!
These people need to stop calling me everyday!!!! They call so early and wake me. So annoying! Need to find something better to do than bug people.
stop these calls imediately
Got a call today telling me I was entered into a drawing for a free iPad and needed to verify my information. They started to read an address that I have never even heard of, let alone lived at. This is the second phone call today from two different numbers scamming me for personal information - the first from PA and this one from MN. Don't know whose database has been compromised, but I suspect that some website I've used has been hacked recently.
they have been calling almost every business day the past couple weeks. I have not answered b/c it has been inconvenient for me. I googled the phone number and google maps pulled up a location in Hastings, MN.I did a satellite view and it looked to be a rundown house and neighborhood. I just wonder how they got my number.
The company is called Viking Magazine, and they are a scam. They called me earlier today, and thankfully I did not give out my credit card.
Received calls from this number on 02 Jan (twice), 04 Jan, 07 Jan, and again today, 10 Jan 13. Ignored calls until today, and they left no message. Picked up the phone this afternoon and voice claiming to represent some sort of sweepstakes outfit said I was in the running for an IPad or some such. The young female caller then claimed she needed to "verify" my information. She had my street address, my name, and my email address. She then asked if I had a major credit card, I said yes. Then she asked which bank that credit card was with. I asked why she needed to know that. She said because her boss wanted to have all the information verified. I replied that she did not need to know that. She then asked my age, which I stupidly provided. Then she claimed I would be contacted by phone or email about the sweepstakes prize. Really wish I had recorded that call. Seriously suspect I should have let the recorder answer this call instead of me. Not a good feeling about this at all. Call sounded like it was from a young teen aged female in a room full of other such individuals making the same sort of calls...a classic boiler room operation. Actual caller id on this call was "V11017291200131". Very worrisome.
I received a call from 651-829-3109 on 12/16/11. Since the call was on my cell phone only the number showed up, however the caller was extremely rude and also sounded like a teenager surrounded by friends. They claimed to be calling about a sweepstakes that I had been entered in for using my visa card. When they continued to be rude I ended the call. If anyone knows who the caller is or what business or whatever this may be is, I would like to know so I can report them.
I don not answer unknown numbers. They can leave a message if it is that important. I do not deal with telemarket calls. Leave a message and stop calling if I don't return their calls. This is annoying and I have better things at work than to answer these annoying calls on my work number and cell number
