Ouch, Double-X .... Their question is the same as mine. Can you wave a "paid full" or "We're done here" notice in their faces? I'd make them dun you on paper so you can dispute them in the open. Hopefully your prior "settlement" was not a verbal agreement, or had language to the effect that the forgiven balance was not to be pursued or sold off.

I settled a debt with them a year ago for $50. Now it's almost a year later, and they're saying that I never paid the bill or settled the debt. I told them I did--with them--and they asked if they could send them a record of it. Get it together and stop calling me!!
I am constantly harrassed by their calls.
Independent Recovery appears to be a collection agency who specializes in medical bills.
Called my cellphone (I am on the 'Do Not Call' list) twice, left no message. The calls are an annoyance. Since I see that others have received annoying calls from this place I'm guessing it's not just a private person who misdialed. Anyone know what recourse we have?

I dont know who they are but they call everyday and I have no way of telling them Im not who they r looking for!! Its annoying and costing me minutes!!
