they use 571-261-0105 and 571-261-0103

Elizabeth was correct. Third party collectors have a bad habit of breaking verbal agreements, and some try to walk from written ones or fool you into breaking them. Gee, kinda like the major lenders do, who got you in that debt mess in the first place. Anyway, when collectors call it is best to move the discussion to a paper trail and hold them fast to the FDCPA. Learn your rights at FTC-dot-gov.

People like Carl and "Annoyed" are slightly misinformed. The FCC has little jurisdiction here beyond TCPA, and the DNC registry exempts collectors. They can act directly to control or cancel the behavior of rogue collectors, and so can you with a little homework.

I find it amusing that people have posted that they "settled" over the telephone. Or "came to an agreement." They will agree to anything over the telephone, but until you have paid every last dollar, they will continue to keep calling and/or sell the remainder of your debt to another collection company. And they will not remove the bad debt from your credit report.

I know - my grandfather was a collector.

These people continue to call me twice a day, seven days a week. Sometimes it comes up AACC, sometimes Asset Acceptance, but lately it's been coming up unknown name unknown number. I know it's them because they call at almost exactly the same time every day- once at 8:20 AM and once at 11:45 AM. They are calling to try to collect on a debt that was on my credit report for a little while because my doctor screwed up and sent my claim to the wrong insurance company, then neglected to send me a bill. The first notice I had that something was wrong was when I got a letter from a different collection agency almost a year after the date of service. I got everything straightened out and it was removed from my credit report. Then, lo and behold, about a year later I begin receiving calls from AACC. I had asked them repeatedly that I disputed this so-called debt and they should send me written documentation that I owe. Once I let them know that I knew my rights and wasn't messing around, they started calling me from an unknown name unknown number and hanging up on me when I answer. I'm preparing a cease and desist letter to send them, then I'm calling a lawyer. I'm tired of this junk.

Got a call from them while out, called them up and spoke with a rep about a very old debt. Rep was professional and respectful in talking with me about the debt and we worked out an agreement.

I dont owe any money, so stop calling my number!! This is Asset Acceptance and they by old debts from credit card companies and try to get you to pay on old or already paid debts. They buy these for pennies and try to scare people into paying money that isnt owed. I found out that most debts that they try to collect on, are beyond the statue of limitations. Dont be scared or scammed!!!

9:20am. AACC on the caller ID. Looking for someone who is nonexistent here by automated message

 May 28th, 2010
I called the number back because they call my home on a daily basis but NEVER leave a message. Caller ID stated AACC - Jamel (I guessed at the spelling) told me they are a "finance company" and they "finance everything". Told them to take me off their calling list as I am on the "Do Not Call Registry" and I have nothing through them.

Persistant folks won't stop. If I don't answer when they call they call 800-210-0434. I'm seriously considering having house phone removed after 40 years, I bet that will stop them!

These people (Asset Acceptance)are bottom feeders!! They buy up OLD debt- 7-10 yrs old for pennies on the dollar. These debts have already been written off. DO NOT TALK to these guys. Lets say this debt is 6 yrs old and you talk to them abouit this debt, now thw debt is renewed because there is activity on it again. DO NOT respond- Tell them wrong Number and do not call again

Got couple of automated phone calls from this number ( 571 261 0105 ) looking for person xyz. Today, I finally called back on same number and waited beyond 'if you know your party's extension, dial it now' to get connected to a live representative from "Asset acceptance". Informed him that there is no person xyz on this number and this number is a cell number for the company i work for. The representative on phone asked for my number and indicated that they will remove my number from their list.
Hoping to not receive any further calls.
Thanks,
Sam

I told them the person they are asking for is unknown to me. I also informed them that I have lived at my present residence for over 50 years and have had the same telephone number the same number of years. So, obviously, their information is incorrect. I then politely asked them to take my phone number off their calling list. That's when they showed their true colors. I told them I am a senior citizen and I'm sure their mother would be very ashamed of their behavior. I then hung up on them mid sentence. Obviously, this is not a reputable company. I now have them on my scam list and will let my answering machine take care of their future calls.

This is the 3rd call in 6 days; we have been harassed by this co. for years, asking for someone who had this phone # over 5 years ago. We made a formal complaint to the Haymarket police Dept. They found that the company is in Michigan, using a VA phone number. Police are pursuing complaint for us.

I've been periodically receiving calls from Asset Acceptance, looking for different people at different times. I've informed them that they're idiots, and are wasting their time since I've had the same number for over 15 years. These companies often attempt to collect money through harassment and intimidation, from individuals whom they know aren't even the legitimate debtors.

Asset Acceptance is the name of the company. Calling for KC Clausen. I've had this phone number for years. No KC Clausen. Once a year I asked to be removed from their list. They continue to call me. Next time I sue.
