What is it about "DO NOT CALL" that they don't understand???
WP7WhoCalledMe Jun 26th, 2014
Calls over and over, late at night and early in the morning, even on Sundays. Jerks. We will never, ever answer them, guaranteed.
They've been bugging me for two weeks out of every month since sometime last fall. On February 4, I called Verizon to be put on the "do not call" list. The recording said it could take up to 30 days to go into effect. The calls for February finally ended on Feb. 15. I just got the first one for March. They've got a few more days before the 30 days is up and I will allegedly be on the "do not call" list. But frankly, at this point, I think the "do not call" list is BS. I will never ever upgrade with Verizon for reasons that have nothing to do with this harassment but involve other practical considerations. Furthemore, I am satisfied with my current service and would prefer to stay at that level. But with every call, I think more seriously about switching to the local cable company. If they don't even honor their own "do not call" list, why should I continue to give them my business?

I received a call from this number today, 2/24/14. I never answer callers I don't recognize. They left no message, of course. 516-570-9227. I see from the comments that this is Verizon. I'm tempted to drop Verizon. They've been a real pain right along.
This is a legitimate phone number from Verizon harassing customers to upgrade. This has been going on for weeks, I had 5 calls today, 6 or 7 yesterday. I called Verizon and was told I will now be added to their Verizon 'do not call' list. Get that, I had to be added to a 'do not call' list from a company I already use. Verizon has to win an award for THE most annoying company.

I have them blocked on my cordless phone and they still continue to call from this number! Over and over and over...
They've been calling every couple of minutes tonight. About a dozen calls so far. Insane!

Received a call from a very similar number - 516-570-9227
- and it's listed on this site as Verizon. It wouldn't surprise me...I have Verizon FiOS but only for my internet connection. They want me to bundle my phone and TV to it as well. I'm a renter - can't do it!
No message left on voice mail.

I keep getting these calls from NASSAUZN01NY too. I have no idea who they are or what they want because they don't bother to leave a message.
It should be really simple. If you need to reach me and I don't pick up, leave voicemail. That's what it's there for. If you explain your purpose and I want to talk to you about it, I'll call you back. If I don't call you back, then I'm not interested in talking about it. If you won't even bother to leave voicemail, that tells me right there that it's not something I will want to talk to you about. Calling me over and over won't change that--it will only confirm that I don't want to talk to you. If you're a robocaller and that's why you don't/can't leave voicemail, then I'm quite certain I don't want to talk to you.
I think robocalling should be banned except for emergency warnings from local government in case of hurricanes or other possible disasters.

We have the number blocked on a Panasonic phone. The phone gives a blocked caller a busy signal. (It also rings once, so it interrupts us every time a blocked call comes in -- not the greatest design for a phone.) Guess these jerks think the busy signal means try again, because they keep calling every few minutes. It's like Ann says below -- they're calling over and over and over, at 3 minute intervals.
I don't answer my phone and I let them listen to my outgoing phone message, which says: "If you are a solicitor or a telemarketer, please add 123-456-7890
(I state my actual phone number) t
o your do not call list. If you are calling for a member of the household, please leave a message. thank you. By law, they have to add you to their do not call list because you have just requested it. I very rarely get another phone call from the same telemarketer. Good Luck!
99 out of 100 calls are telemarketer dickheads. I'm ready to cancel my land line. with a 1% hit rate, who the fuck needs this shit?
Numerous calls, don't answer no msg. on machine. Sick of this crap.
They called 13 times in 35 minutes. Unbelievable.
No message left, and a spoofed caller ID. Now, why would I want to answer a call like that? Not gonna happen folks, so just bugger off!
Left no message. ID showed NASSAUZNO1NY
