Ever since i subscribed to national geographic, i get calls, if i dont answer, thet just hang up. I will never order anything again from them, i paid to be bothered by this . Pfffft
National Geographic called with a "fantastic offer" for a subscription to a bunch of videos. I told them that I'd recently lost my job (true), and couldn't afford a subscription like that, and politely refused to accept the videos.
If they call, just refuse the offer. They haven't called me since.
Nat Geo a$$-hats. Hang up calls. Tiny wipers of other people's bottoms. I fart in your general direction.

Another stupid hang-up. Nat Geo: you're pi$$ing me off.

I continue to get call from this number but I have reached a point where some action needs to be taken. Will look into!! Its too bad we don't have more rights as consumers..that we can't just plug in the number and never recieve calls from that number again!!
I was getting calls from this number 3-5 times per day. I finally answered and said "So, you're the folks calling 3 -5 times per day. THIS was her response: "Not me personally (chuckle) but we are excited to talk to you." I told her to get rid of my number. I then wrote an email to firstname.lastname@example.org (there is NO customer support address) and got a canned thank you. However, two days later I got a response from the company doing their calls for them. In short, it was taken care of ... I would suggest to anyone - even if you tell them to remove your number, write an email to Nat Geo at the above address...you WILL get a response and perhaps if enough people do it - they'll realize that the call center isn't winning them any friends!!!
This number is showing up on my parent's phone, and they've been getting daily calls during the weekday. They are both in their 80's and don't need this kind of harassment. They have a wonderful magazine that my parents subscribe to, but these calls take all of the enjoyment and respect out of their company. It seems that they are as low as any of them.
Keep getting calls from this number. When I answer they just hang up the phone. Its annoying, went ahead & register with do not call list Gov website ( https://www.donotcall.gov/ ) Hope this will work.

A callback to this number said it was National eographic DVD and Video customer service. We never ordered anything from National Geographic and haven't subscribed to the magazine in over ten years. If they want to do us a service they can leave us alone.
In past couple months, received frequent calls with no messages left. Customer service with zero sensitivity. I have not tried to call back. Can't be bothered.
These idiots keep calling and when I answer they just hang up the phone...what is the point?
Like all the other people,we also have a subscription,as soon as it runs out......THATS IT!!!!no renewal for us! they call EVERYDAY....lucky we have 'call blocking'(only rings once). So much for a quality publication!!!
These assholes are relentless in their mission to inject themselves into your life. I used to have a fairly high regard for National Geographic, but they have now morphed into a sleazy 2-bit operation that pays back customers with a lifetime of telemarketing harassment.

Like others, I receive multiple calls daily from this number. I sent an email to National Geographic expressing my concern that someone may be using their company name. Just after I sent the email, I decided to try calling the number to see if it actually reached National Geographic. Much to my surprise, I did!
This number is their DVD and Video division. The woman who answered was very courteous. She asked for my last name and zip code. I provided them and she said that I wasn't in their database. She then asked if I'd been receiving phone calls. I confirmed and she said that she would remove my name from the call list. She then asked for the telephone number and removed it from the calling list. She said it could take up to 24 hours for the change to take effect and apologized for any calls that might come in between.
Will post again if the change doesn't take place and/or if I get a response back to the email.

Telemarketers from National Geographic from IOWA 515-248-7685; complained but to no avail. They will NOT stop.
As an update to the previous comment I made. I did just call 515-248-7685, and got right through to a real person who identified herself by name in Customer Service. While my call was being connected, a recording indicated that 'all calls are recorded for quality assurance.' I asked her the company name, and she replied National Geographic DVD Sales. I summarized my Internet research, and she said it is the DVD Sale's Marketing Department using an automated dialer. Automated dialers obviously cannot leave messages. Automated dialers are also notoriously known to have a call connected, but no representative available to take over the connected call.
515-248-7685 "Iowa" calls at least once a day. Does not leave a message. Today I picked up, and it was just dead air. Although I do have a subscription to National Geographic, they have never had my phone number. I have never received anything unsolicited from National Geographic because I previously sent them an opt-out/mail preference request. More than likely, this has to be some type of a scam.
Have registered calls from the above number and ID for several years. I never answer.
Scam. Not the national geographic. They have no offices in Iowa.
If this is National Geographic, then it must be because my wife has subscribed to their magazine in the past. Naturally, they pay us back by harassing us in our home. Nice job, National Geographic.

They've been calling 2-3 times a day. Never leave a message and it shows up on called ID as Des Moines, Iowa. I've answered it once and no one answered back so I hung up. This is annoying and I'm on the DO NOT CALL list for over a year.

Been getting calls from this number...we do have a subscription to NatGeo, so we just ignore them. If you want to file a complaint, you may want to try the
FCC (Federal Communications Commission) instead of the FTC (more for consumer issues like...got a lemon of a dishwasher, etc...)
http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm Good Luck...
Natinal Geographic - trying to sell more items. Told them to leave us the H**L alone - didn't work. Keeps calling - no message. Has been put on DO NOT CALL list for a year - lodged complaints with FTC - no avail. How long does it take to have some action taken against these predators??? We just leave the phone on mute - if anyone really needs us, they either leave a message or send the cops... pretty sad, huh? And I pay for home phone service??? Land line phone companies better beware... folks are getting really upset about your lack of integrity regarding phone abuse... if you are losing customers - look in the mirror for the reason why...
I get several calls on my home phone every day. Three so far just this morning. Twice I picked up and nobody was there, calls dropped. Been this way for months. How do I stop it?
This call is definitely NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC and they identified themselves as such. Told them to stop calling!!!!
Number kept coming up on caller ID about twice a day so I answered one time. Sure enough, it was National Geographic trying to sell me something or another.
I let my subscription to National Geographic expire. The company obviously thinks this is just a terrible oversight on my part and they're desperately trying to get hold of me to keep my money, er, my subscription coming. Yikes! It's like trying to leave the mafia or something! They just call and call. You'd think they'd give up after the first hundred no-answers, wouldn't you?
if you are National Geographic trying to contact us, I WOULD APPRECIATE A MESSAGE OR TWO.
I DON'T LIKE GETTING UNNECESSARY CALLS DURING THE DAY. If you are trying to get us to buy something. STOP CALLING US PRONTO!
Called and asked for my husband, I said he wasn't home, and nothing else was said. Annoying. We do have a subscription.
And to make matters worse, judging by the quality of the TV programs they produce, they've lost quite a bit of intellectual integrity.
Got a call today & caller ID said "Out of Area". Looked it up here and got concerned. I'm also registered with the "Do Not Call" registry. Will file a complaint if this persists.
None stop for 3 months now.
They like to call during dinner time.
leave me alone May 03rd, 2008
Answered call but didn't say hello, caller never said anything. Believe to be computer generated call.
They have called four times in the past three days. I don't answer, and there is never a message.
They call 2+ times per day - computer-generated calls. My #'s registered w/Do Not Call Registry - filed complaint w/FTC.
This phone number is not National Geographic. I called National Geographic and they are not known by this telephone number. I am getting law officials involved in this very irritating matter. They call me six times a day. I don't answer.
a crazy sounding woman asked for incorrect first name, correct last name of my husband - who is NOT listed in the phone book, so assume some kind of prior knowledge. (He did receive National Georgraphic last year.)
woman asked for me by name, had a bad buzz in connection, she said she heard the buzz too and would call right back. I subscribe to National Geographic, but the caller ID said "Unknown"
My son got a subscription to Nat'l Geographic Adventure magazine for his birthday and now all telemarketer calls have increased! So sad. We can't get through dinner without this and 3 others bothering us.
The caller told me (he did not ask) that I'd be receiving a map and video in the mail, and that if I "liked it as much as he thought I would" I could keep it an pay some price (I think $9.95, not sure). I asked him if he was asking me it I wanted it or telling me I was getting it. He got a bit defensive, but said (in response to an additional question) that if it arrived and I did nothing, I'd be charged. I asked to speak to his manager three times, at which point he hung up on me. Doesn't reflect well on National Geographic, in my opinion.

THEY CALL AND CALL AND CALL, BUT NEVER LEAVE A MESSAGE.
Linda DePeel Jan 31st, 2008
Hung up when I answered. Reported to FTC/do not call complaint.
