Wanna REALLY stop these calls? If you have a regular land-line (wired) phone, get one of these:
http://www.digitone.com/
http://www.telezapper.com/
These plug-in the phone jack, betweeen the wall and the phone.

Digitone is a "phone buttler". If somebody does not enter the correct code, your phone NEVER rings.

Telezapper puts that 'DO-DAH-DEE' sound on the line when you pick-up your phone. The sound registers on their computers as a disconnected line, and they take you off their list. Watch the unwanted calls just drop to nothing! Just make sure you tell your friends and contacts, so they just don't hang-up when they hear it!

You can thank me later ...

(Full disclosure: I do not work for, I do not sell, these products.)

Received a call today from this number "Omni Op" with the recorded message "Please press 1 for a recorded message about Capitalism." I swiftly hung up and the went to the DONOTCALL.GOV site and reported them. I recommend everyone do the same to get this garbage to stop. https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx

All of these calls come from the West Corporation of Omaha Nebraska. They USED to be an outbound telemarketing company..they have a HUGE infrastructure and handle / handled the American Idol calls. If they call you owe someone money. West Corporation’s telecommunications infrastructure became self-aware on November 13th 2009 @ 12:15 CST; Judgment Day is inevitable.

I have a zapper that zaps computer originated calls. I bought it at Radio Shack years ago. I only get this type of call once from any individual number, but it is still annoying. The zapper supposedly tells the computer that my number has been disconnected. I don't know if it is still available, but if it is, and enough people get it, we might fight back against the robo-calls, render them useless.

Got a call from them tonight, the recorded voice was already jabbering even before I said "Hello". I did hear "Press 1 to hear something about Capitalism". I didn't press anything, just listened, half expecting to hear "Press 2 to remove your number from our stupid call list!"
I did call the number back, only to hear yet another recording saying that 'due to the number of call backs I'd made, my number was temporarily blocked, but would soon be unblocked'. She babbled on about calling a customer service number to be reinstated, but that number was never given out. Am I surprised? No.

Have received multiple calls. Tried to answer once, just dead air. Tried to call back once and call would not go through. Am reporting to FCC as a violation and will block the number. I report each and every one of these type of calls. It only takes a minute to go online and report at the FCC call violation site. The more people that do it, the better results we will see. This administration may actually care about this kind of intrusion.

Received two calls and both showed OMNI OP in caller ID. I hung up after listening to a few seconds of empty space and called their number back. Got a crazy recording about I had used up my alloted phone calls etc and I hung up because I was afraid it might be some scam where they get your permission to make a zillion long distance calls. I tried to have their number blocked from being able to call me at AT & T and lo and behold, AT & T cannot block any calls for me. Something wrong with that picture. I pay every month for a phone service and I can't get an annoying number blocked??

THANK YOU Det. K. Richter for your info. These calls are not from those teabagging, right-wing freedom fighters; they are from those conducting research who support one world Government. (EUROPEANS). The government is allowing this research. The questions are, what info are they gaining, and for WHAT purpose??? The Owner of company is Tom Zoretich, WHO is also Treasurer of CMOR; GO TO: http://www.cmor.org/enews/CMOR_eNews_October_06.htm AND, "CMOR's Director of Operations, Donna Gillin, attended the WIN Meeting in London September 17th in conjunction with the ESOMAR Congress. WIN - World Industry Network - is an agenda setting forum for global leaders in the research industry and a communication platform to inform and update associations, aligning and involving them in industry projects. There are international WIN meetings, as well as written updates to discuss trends and critical issues and to develop collective responses and plans for action. CMOR has provided government affairs information for inclusion in the WIN newsletter and attended the WIN Meetings (attended by other associations and key industry leaders) to provide the US government affairs and respondent cooperation perspective on issues such as industry codes and standards, as well as recruiting and training research personnel." ESOMAR is a "world organization": "http://www.esomar.org/index.php/about-esomar.html ESOMAR,"EUROPEAN SOCIETY FOR OPINION AND MARKETING RESEARCH ASSOCIATION." THIS ESOMAR IS THE PRO-NEW WORLD ORDER ARM of marketing/researching people on how to bring about and (brainwashing) people to be acceptable with the upcoming New World Order. READ the articles "global, global, global". See book: "E.S.O.M.A.R. Conference on Marketing and Research under a 'New World Order,':
Tokyo (Japan), 6th-8th, July 1992
by Advertising Research Foundation, Esomar, Japan Marketing Association"

It is also interesting that an ACORN office is a 1 minute walk from this "OmniOp", or Citistream Communications.

So, STOP BLAMING AVERAGE AMERICANS WHO ARE CONCERNED ABOUT GOVERNMENT SPENDING AND TAXATION of THE U.S. INTO NATION-WIDE POVERTY AND FOREIGN OWNERSHIP. GET YOU HEADS OUT OF YOUR BUTTS AND SEE WHAT'S REALLY GOING ON PEOPLE. It's about GLOBALIZATION AND PUTTING AMERICANS UNDER THE NEW GLOBAL CONSTITUTION, TOSSING OUT OUR US CONSTITUTION.

Just for your info 402-982-0729 is listed under Citistream Communications INC.(1625 Farnam St ste 860 Omaha, NE) They change the phone numbers and are using without permission Legimate Company names like OMNI OP etc.. What I find interesting is the ACORN office is less than a minute walk away at 319 South 17th Street Omaha, NE in the SAME BUILDING but on the south side giving a diffrent address and ste number. I also find it strange that so many complaints are stating the caller is talking like a crazed nut going on about Tea Parties then hanging up.

Not saying this is connected just pointing out that it is very strange that these two offices are so close together.

This is not the place for political opinions Plumber Joe (especially if you are foolish enough to believe this administration cares about the middle class - sorry, you started it.). But this calling party is a nuisance. They hung up as soon as I answered. When I tried to call them back to ask them to remove my number, there was an odd recording that said something like, "800-475-0560 because of a large number of recent calls from your phone, your telephone number has been temporarily blocked from calling this number. "

What nerve! I wish they would permanently block themselves from calling MY number. I have never called them and my number is register on the National Do Not Call List.

All of you people who have caller ID (and that's just about everybody), USE IT TO SCREEN YOUR CALLS. You're paying for that service, get the most out of it. If it's a number or a name you don't recognize, DON'T ANSWER IT. I have 3 phones in my home, and the only one that has a ringer ON is the one in the room I spend the most time: my home office. If I get one of those 800 calls or other nuisance calls, it's easy to just turn off the ringer until they stop, and then turn it back on. Let's face it...the DNC registry is not helping (there are just TOO MANY LOOPHOLES), so we have to combat these idiots as best we can on our own. Hang in there.

I received a call from this number on my home telephone. An automated voice told me to "press 1" to hear a message on "capitalism." Since they were the ones calling me, I didn't press anything, hoping that there would be an option to remove me from their calling list instead. After a few seconds, the call simply disconnected. The caller ID said "Opinion One," which is a survey firm. Unfortunately, since political speech and surveys are exempt from Do Not Call regulations, reporting them to the FCC or FTC probably wouldn't do much good. If you get this call, simply hang up, since some commenters have suggested that pressing 1 confirms your number as active and adds you to another calling list.

Got the "press 1 for an important message about capitalism" thing. Reported to donotcall.gov. Unfortunately, since it's 'political', they're probably just within the bounds of the law, but perhaps if enough people complain they'll come up with some better rules for these jokers to obey.

This is the number of an auto-caller owned by Tom Zoretich who uses it determine if there are “live” people at the numbers so his staff can call back and conduct market research on for whatever company or organization hires them. He does this for two companies, both of which he owns:

Opinion One
3340 Mall Loop Drive
Joliet, IL 60431-1057
815-254-1937
tom@OpinionOne.com
and
Keller Fay Group
65 Church Street, 3rd Floor
New Brunswick, NJ 08901
732-846-6800
tzoretich@kellerfay.com

He is willfully violating the National Do NOT Call law. Worse, he is the treasurer of the Marketing Research Association, which printed the following about fighting this law in its recent newsletter: “This past year, we engaged in a wide range of lobbying activities to educate legislators at both state and federal levels about the detrimental effects of the FTC’s revision of the National Do-Not-Call bill as it pertains to calls to cell phones.”

I urge EVERYONE to report him (and all his numbers and information) at http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm because the government won’t do anything about him unless they receive multiple complaints.

I also urge everyone to SEND HIM MULTIPLE, AUTO-DIALED E-MAILS TO JAM HIS E-MAIL BOX and PUT HIS OWN PHONE NUMBERS ON AN AUTO-DIALER TO DO TO HIM WHAT HE’S BEEN DOING TO US.

Every night the phone rings - the caller ID says "Opinion One" and the number is 402-982-0729. It rings once or twice and when I pick up, there is no one there. I tried calling back and it could not go through. This is disgraceful!

Opinion One robocall -- to be aware of the teabaggers and all the uprising going on...just "boogeymen" stuff--they are just like it says in your rearview mirror--"Items appear larger than they are".

WE are registered on the national do not call list. We have someone in the home whom is termanally ill, with hospice care. WE get two to three calls from "Opinion One" a day. No one is on the other end to notify them to quit calling. Are calls to this number are blocked. We want these calls stopped immediately!
