Don't hang up on them!! They will still call you again and again anyway, press option #1 like you wish to speak to them and just leave the phone off the hook. When they pick up, you're not there and now you waste their time. Or better yet, give the phone to your 4 year old to talk to them or perhaps your dog.

Credit card services. 772-664-4005 has the same recording and routine as 305-595-9680 and 305-392-9247. They claimed they would "add my number to the do not call list" when I asked to be removed, but 3 of the 4 previous people I actually talked to said the same or similar. I reported it on www.donotcall.gov.

RE: "mike" (IN ALL CAPS): Please don't report these calls to your local police department, people. They truly have better things to be doing. There's no proof that these calls are illegal or a scam. They might be, and probably are, but there's a simpler answer. Simply hang up or don't answer in the first place. Pressing "2" to "remove your number" from their list only acknowledges to them that the number they have is a valid number and that that person actually took the time to listen to the message. Of course you will get more calls! As far as the police are concerned, the whole DUI argument is ridiculous anyway. Patrol handles DUI's while detectives handle identity theft. Would I rather have them working on DUI enforcement or ID theft? DUI any day. Leave the ID theft to the FBI.

second call today from a "miami, fl" number (the other one was 305-392-9247 which has been already reported as fraudolent ) that turns out to be disconnected when called back. how do they do this? I think from now on I will answer only when I know the caller.

A robocall about my credit cards leads to an agent who tries to get my personal details after asking about my credit card debt. She claimed that my lenders gave them my number, which is unlikely as I don't have any. When I asked to call them back later, they hung up. This time they claimed they were in Kansas City, KS. Probably my 10th call from them over the last few months, but they change numbers every few weeks.

PLEASE EXCUSE ME FROM TYPING IN UPPER CASES. THIS IS A SCAM. A ATTEMPT TO STEAL YOUR IDENTITY. I HAVE BEEN RECIEVING CALLS FROM THEM FOR TWO STRAIGHT MONTHS, DID NOT ANSWER DUE TO UNVALIABLE BEING IN CALLER ID.THEN I RECEIVED ANOTHER CALL WITH THE NUMBER OF 561-482-7092 FROM BOCCA, FL. GOT SICK OF TWO CALLS EACH DAY FOR THE TWO MONTHS WITH THREE RINGS UNTIL I ANSWERED ON 04/21/08. IT WAS A RECORDED MESSAGE FROM A COMPANY CLAIMING TO BE ACCOUNT SERVICES GIVING ME THE OPTION OF PRESSING 1 TO SAVE ON MY CREDIT RATE OR 2 TO NOT RECEIVE ANY FURTHER NOTICES. I QUICKLY PRESS 2 TO NOT RECIEVE ANY FURTHER NOTICES. GUESS WHAT? THAT WAS ON 4/18/08 FRIDAY. IT IS 4/21/08 AND THEY ARE AREADY CALLING ME AGAIN. AFTER REVIEWING THIS SITE ON 4/18/08, I KNEW THE TWO CALLS I RECIEVED TODAY WERE FROM THE SAME SCAM. THE NUMBERS TODAY 4/21/08 SHOWED 305 392-9247 (MIAMI, FL) WHICH BY THE WAY IS ALREADY DISCONNECTED AND 202-000-0000
(UNAVAILABLE). PEOPLE THIS IS SERIOUS!!!!. THE FIRST THING TO DO IS GO TO YOUR PHONE COMPANY. TELL THEM YOU SOMEONE IS ATTEMPTING TO STEAL YOUR IDENITIY AND USING BOGUS CALLER ID NUMBERS, (ALL OF THEIR NUMBERS THEY CALL FROM ARE BOGUS).THEN TELL THEM YOU NEED TO TRACE THE NUMBER. ONCE THE NUMBER IS TRACED YOU NEED TO FILE A POLICE REPORT ABOUT AN IDENITIY THEFT. DON'T LET THEM PUSH YOU AWAY (POLICE DEPT) AS THIS IS SERIOUS. WHILE MOST DEPARTMENTS WILL PUT MOST RESOURCES IN LOCAL DWI'S, THIS IS A PERSONAL SAFETY ISSUE. I WILL POST AGAIN TO LET YOU KNOW THE PROGRESS BUT WE MUST ALL DO THE SAME TO BRING A QUICK CLOSE TO THIS SCAM!!!!. THANKS FOR SITES LIKE THIS.

A recording was left on my voice mail. It said to take advantage of an offer to "lower the interest rate on my credit card" by pressing 1.
The voice mail missed the first part of the recording because it started playing as soon as my voice mail picked up and the beginning was played over my voice mail greeting, but no bank I ever heard of refers to their card as a "credit card," it's always "your VISA" or "your Discover card." They always use the product name.
I am completely certain it was a scam, and just like email scams, they can spoof the origin to make the call or email look like it's coming from a personal number or email address.

Automated system called and left a message on my voicemail. The message said something about my last chance to lower my interest rate so I think it was related to one of my credit cards.

I got "Heather" too saying they could reduce my interest rate on my credit card. So...I pressed 1 to get a representative. A Lady(no name given) answered with "You want to reduce your credit card rate?" To which I replied "I don't know who is calling especially since I have NO credit cards." She promptly hung up.

My call was from "Heather" who said there was nothing wrong with my credit card accounts. "Heather" has called, always automated, saying she wants to speak to someone about different interest rates. Then it says you can push #2 to be removed from the list but she keeps calling back despite being on the do-not-call list. My caller ID just says Miami, FL.

Guy answers "Hello" after I press 1 (recording beforehand was blah blah credit card without mentioning company names). I ask what company he is with and he hangs up. Can't call back the number because the number showing on call-id is not in service. Weeeee! Looks like there is no way to make this stop since it is a BS scam. I am on a no call list. No way to report it.

was told by friends that telemarketers would be allowed access to cell phones as of this past saturday (4/12/08). register your # at donotcall.gov. It takes 31 days to kick in but then you can register complaints. In the meantime register complaints with FCC. I'm sure these are scammers.
