This phone number is calling to try to SCAM money for the Fraternal Order of Police. I have NOT called the number, nor will I. It directs you to a customer service department that can answer questions using potentially manipulative techniques, help you waste your donation on fundraising fees, or anything else related to the FOP getting a small fraction of your donation, 12% to 27% Some fundraiser's pocket as much as 73% to 90% and up. Also, there’s information on www.badgefraud.org on the massive numbers of warnings put out by FOP Lodges that do not use so called professional fundraisers and Real Police and Sheriff and Fire Departments. But you can contact them there with any questions or requests.
BadgeFraud (dot) org is doing a lot of really great things for POLICE OFFICERS FAMILIES and the people that post are NOT trying to raise money, they are trying to protect the money of the people who protect us, and that is something very good.
also x-refs to 281-763-7522
as frat ord police. they make $3500 a month to start. i'm making 0 so how
in their theory am i supposed to give to them?
I told them to put me on the do not call list but they still call anyway this is a scam a rip off do not give them any money
Some male calls from tnis number at least twice a week. Ask for lady of the house, then goes into talking about wanting money for some Law Enforcement Organization, I hang up on them. The calls are getting to the point getting on my nerves.
214-453-6782 is calling to help the Texas Fraternal Order of Police with their fundraising efforts. I called the number back and was directed to their customer service department. They can answer your questions, help with donating, etc. You can also go to texasfop.org for more information or to contact them.
The FOP are doing great things to help police officers and their families.
call came in at 6:16pm CST, caller ID listed it as NBA EVENTS. Did not take the call, and no message was left.
Called this evening at 2013. Caller ID displayed "TX FOP Found", number was 214-453-6782.
Did not pick up, caller left no message.
They called on 10-30-09 from number 214-453-6782
, said TX FOP on caller ID. Requesting donations for some sort of Texas police officers fund. Told them I wasn't interested. Called again on 11-13-09 from number 281-463-7522
, said TX FOP on caller ID so I didn't answer phone. Rang 3 times and they hung up. Different phone numbers, same business.
They called on 10-30-09 at 7:25pm. Said TX FOP on caller ID but the phone number was from 214-453-6782
. They were asking for donations for Texas police officers fund of some sort. I was barely listening because I knew I wasn't going to donate. They called again on 11-13-09 at 9:15am and it said TX FOP with phone number of 281-763-7522 on caller ID so I didn't answer it. Rang 3 times & they hung up. Different phone numbers, same business.
I have asked them to stop calling, yet I keep getting calls from this "fund raising" company every day. They keep changing the number that they call from, so just blocking one number does not work. They call from 469-718-0642, 281-763-7522
just to name a few. They disrupt my home business with these continued calls! SOD OFF, WANKERS!!
How many times can you answer "NO" to TX FOP to make them stop calling? Who knows because they don't stop.
Interesting: these people seem to have two numbers that they're calling from. Maybe two call centers? Both show up as TX FOP on caller ID...
Interesting... Nov 10th, 2009
These people called me asking for donations and there is no way that the real police call and ask for money. they have funding events to help the police officers. I want these people to stop calling and harrassing me!

Yeah, it's a scam. So you still need to do all the do-no-call lists, contact your lazy-ass, bought-and-paid for, lying, thieving, murdering (lawyer) legislators, AND ALSO go get yourself a phone that has built-in call-blocking functionality. [Do NOT pay for "call blocking" from your local phone company--that's another scam, because although their computers will retrieve and display a consistent caller id and source number from spammers, they CLAIM their equipment isn't smart enough to block those calls--that's what they get for outsourcing to India, Russia, Slobovia...] Get yourself a smart phone, pay only once, and let IT do the blocking! Once their revenue plummets, they'll bribe the legislators and move on into their next barely legal rip off.
Call TX FOP at 512-832-1367
and tell them you want on their Do Not Call list. By law they have to stop calling even if they're a charitable organization.
got phone call from TX FOP but from 214-453-6782
which is not my area.
I didn't answer because didn't recognize number or name. They started talking anyway not paying enough attention that the answering machine answered, went through a little speel then realizing no one was talking to them said they would call back. I also googled. I finally found one of the organization that had their mission statement etc. And it their description sounded like a union.
Constant calls every month from this number,no one is on the line or they hang up when you ask who they are.
There was a story on the local news about these people. They have no association with any Texas police department. It is a scam. The police department was interviewed and they said the get no funds from this so-called organization. The real police have their own fund-raising organizations. Report said steps are being taken to shut them down.

Go to the Texas FOP web site, contact us http://www.texasfop.org/ContactUs.aspx -- enter your first name & phone #, and put a comment that requests them to STOP CALLING!

Man said with TX FOP..then laughed..& said I wasn't in trouble. He started to tell me they were "helping" police widows, etc. I cut him off & said I wasn't giving. Good friends who are cops in this area said they, widows, orphans, etc. get nothing from these places & to never give.
no answer it was from Tx FOP FOund

Called twice in 5 minutes. First I answered and they asked for lady of the house. Then they either hung up or didn't respond. Called right back and I hung up on them.
I called and had both my numbers removed off of their list. They answered Texas Fraternal Order of Police each time.
I just called the TX FOP FOUND phone and talked with one of the workers, I explained to her about this web site and the bad publicity TX Fraternity of Police is getting. She stated she will remove my name off their calling list. She will also report the calls and no one speaks and hangs up. So if you are having the same problem, just call them and ask that your phone number be removed from their list. (Let's see if it works!)
Just got a call from above phone number, did not know who it is so I called it and got the recording of Texas Faternal Order of Police. After I answered the phone and said hello "TWICE" they hung up. These calls are very irritating and rude to begin with. Why call when you aren't going to say anything? If they are truly POLICE....they should know better! Can't the police stop these shinanigans?!
Some guy stating he was from Tx Fraternal Order of Police..."don't worry you didnt do anything wrong" (Laugh). Said they are raising money for officers injured or widows and families of officers killed in the line of duty. Advised him I will have to check out the organization he said, "Thanks bye" and hung up. I am on the DO NOT CALL list. I want these calls to stop. Really makes me mad they are preying on people's sympathy and natural support of our peace officers.
Called and didn't leave a message. You'd think they have better things to do with their time. SCAM calls are annoying.
just another in a long line of them If I don't know them I don't answer.. Nice to know it is the police of TX bagering me..
Called asked for me by name and then they hung up
THEY ASKED FOR MY SPOUSE BY Name and then they hung up. I dialed back and no answer.

Caller ID said "NBA Events." Did not leave a message.
Tx FOP Found--Didn't answer phone
The person calling and leaving the message didn't mention their name, just that they were calling with TX FOP. Mentioned someone else's name that the message was directed to, charges against that person, last four digits of social security number, case number, 800 number to call regarding case. Even mentioned sending someone to the residence and place of work to serve a summons. Is this for real? The person they were referring to is an aquaintance.
Very ticked off Aug 29th, 2009
From another site, I got the information below. I cannot confirm it, but enough different postings point to the same thing that it's probably true.
When I answered, they did not comply with the law. (By the way, it's stupid to not answer, because they'll just call again and again. It's even stupider to answer -- then say yo're not there!) I was told they'd put me on their Do Not Call list.
Instead of merely whining here, more of you need to:
1) Complain to your lawmakers about the loophole that allows them to call even if you're on state or federal Do Not Call lists.
2) Complain that a "non profit" has a loophole even if it is not a charitable organization, or its charity amounts to 1% or less of its revenues.
3) Learn the law (It's easy to find, and pretty clear.) then sue them for even the tiniest infraction when they call you. If enough people file enough lawsuits, they will have to comply 100%, or go out of business 100% because their legal fees will exceed whatever they can make with their illegal tactics. Many people have been awarded (and collected) tens of thousands of dollars for illegal telemarketing. In Harris County, Texas more than one lawsuit resulted in awards exceeding $20,000 per call.
A whine is fine, but wouldn't you rather get cash?

I also received a call from them today and just like everyone else, they asked for me by name. I told them I was not in and he said there was no message to leave, he could call back later.
Today I anwered the phone about 4:30pm. The man asked for me by name. I responded to him by saying this is she. He said do not worry you are not in trouble. I said I did not think I did anything wrong. He said thank you for your time and hung up. I tried to call him back. All I got was an answering device asking me to dial an extension or stay on the line. I diecided to hang up. I then thought to look up the company and came axross this site.
THEY ASK FOR YOU BY NAME THEN HANG UP.
Caller hung up before message left.
Called this morning and immediately said that I was not in trouble. After listening to his comments, I said, "I suspect that you are a telemarketer and just like the TX State Troopers group who calls (at this point he actually said, "Uh huh."), you are not legitimate." No denial from him and I hung up at that point.
Organizations like these almost always eat more than 75-80% of donations to professional fundraising. They call on the good name and reputations of local police and firefighters but there are ways to support the same causes elsewhere, where at least 80 cents of every dollar will go to the program instead of 15-20 cents like in these cold calls. When folks like this call, my first question is always: How much of every dollar goes to fundraising and administrative costs?
Caller launched into a spiel about Fraternal Order of Police & "haha don't worry you aren't trouble" & how lucky we are to have these defenders, at which point I hung up.
This was a first time call from this number for me. I answered but there was no response, although it did sound like an open line with someone listening on the other end. I've was informed by my local police officers that the Texas Fraternal Order of Police Foundation is a telephone scam and that they are in the business of making money for themselves. They use the bare minimum for charity so they can keep their tax-exempt status, which makes these guys common con-artists who use a convincing website to sucker people into giving.
The left no message, I did not answer. The Caller ID showed the name as NBA Events.
A man said, "Hi. Bye, bye." When I called the number back, a message said, "The number you've reached has either been changed or disconnected." In less than 5 minutes? I doubt it.
I hate these rat-bastards. I wish our fine legal system would stop these scamming jerks.
Texas Fraternal Order of Police, uh-huh. The guy sure hung up pretty quick when I informed him that MY son was a police officer, LOL !!
Make that 33 reports listing the identity as TX FOP FOUND.
They have called many times. I don't answer.
Tried to say something several times and never would listen to me. Told the man have a nice day and hung up.
They called my telephone today at 3:40 p.m. Caller ID showed TX FOP FOUND. Like all calls from numbers or names I do not recognize I did not answer. I am on every DO Not Call list there is, but that obviuoly does not matter to scammers. I used to pick up the phone and then put it back down immediately just so the call would go through as completed and there would be a charge. Today I just stood there and watched it ring. They did not let it ring very long. (I do not have an answer machine nor call notes.)
They called Wed. evening. Identified themselves as Texas Fraternal Order of Police but said "don't worry, you're not in any trouble with the police, chuckle, chuckle". I did as I always do, laid the phone receiver on the floor and let them wait and pay for the call. After a bit, the line starting buzzing and I hung up. Don't expect to get another call. A coach's whistle works wonders on the other end when you blow it into the mouthpiece!
Listen folks, the police are funded by the state or local governments. We do not need donations from the public. We get paid enough.
Do not waste your hard earned money on telemarketers. They are a fraud and do nothing to help us. If you wish to donate, wait until your
local police or fire departments go out on fundraising. Then you can give as little or as much as you want.
Capt. F. M. Aug 13th, 2009
Fraternal Order of Police...doubt if they are anyone except the 97% to telemarketer/3 % to charitable beneficiary folks.
Telemarketers perform a valuable service (some don't know of their prduct/service)(some are shut-ins who appreciate the opportunity), but this one seems like one of the less reputable ones.

To EDDIE: No matter what the web site says, they are scammers. A web site can say anything.
I'm not whether they are legit or not, but it irritates me to receive phone calls from these people. I have asked to be removed from their list, but to date am still receiving phone calls requesting money. I, too, have told the caller that I prefer to receive requests for donations through the mail. Nothing has ever been sent.
This is a sleezy fraud fund raiser. No legitimate charity raises money by calling and annoying people. Please don't give them a cent.
If you google FOP you get. Fraternal Order of Police in Texas. They will give you a story about an injured officer or officers widow. I ask for the widow's name and address, I'll be glad to send her a check. As another poster said, these people take the vast majority of the money and send a pittance to the beneficiaries. They have nothing to do with President Obama.
A male voice asked to speak to,"Joseph." I knew it was not a legitimate call. They are hoping you will volunteer some information related to your phone number. I,too,am on the "do not call list," and I will report the event to them!
I'm on DO NOT CALL list, but this one called today. I believe they called last month; I requested they send something in the mail as I'm not about to give a credit card # to just anyone who phones asking for money. Never received anything.
My phone is in the Do-Not-Call list, however, I still get lots of calls from different phone numbers. Some have TX FOP FOUND and others unknown, they never leave a message.
FOP stands for "Fund Obama President", Stop calling and collecting money that you don't need from our Tax Payers!!! You Already Get Paid Enough.
Wonder who these crooks are. The man asked for my husband who has been dead for 4 1/2 years. I just told him he had the wrong number and he thanked me and hung up. When I hit call on my caller ID to dial 214-453-6782 their answering machine came up with a message that the number had been changed or was no longer in service. Neat way to dodge the bullet. Guess the real police are hot on their trail. In the past they have talked to me, but I always refused donation, so guess they thought they would try the man of the house.
No message left but caller id shows nba events
Has anyone reported these idiots to the police? I support our police, but not a bunch of thieving telemarketors!!!
I am on do not call list. Should not be receiving these calls everday.

TX FOP Found. Called it back and got an operator who answered Fraternal Order of Police. I asked to be on do not call list. They said it took 48 hours.
They are a fraud... one of those who take 97% and give 3% to the police fund. They have nothing to do with the police - they are telemarketers pure
The FOP stands for Fraternal Order of Police....I assume this is a request for a donation
TX FOP FOUND, did not leave message. "Fraternal Order of Police"???
Called wanting a donation for some type of police fund.
