This company is truely fraudulent! A sales rep entered my office and sold me a machine and processing with the condition that I could cancel within 2 months with no penalty. When I called to cancel, I learned that I could cancel the processing, but NOT the machine lease. LOCKED IN! When I called back to tell them the machine and processing were sold to me on a conditional basis, the lady at Encore Payment Systems told me that I should have read my lease and that they are not responsible for what the independent contractor verbally told me. Well, I did read my lease and questioned the sales rep. and he clearly told me that I could cancel.
Then when I made a claim with the BBB about this company, I was told that the lease would be reversed. About 2-3 weeks later, I get a collection letter AFTER I have been sent to collections without the ability to rectify the problem outside of collections.
So, a lease was sold to me fraudently, then when they are unhappy about your measures to clear this faulty lease, they will reverse the lease and send you to collections at the same time. Once you get to collections, your ONLY resolution is to be forced into a settlement, where justice is not a concern. This company needs to be exposed for who and what they do to small business owners who are the backbone to the US workforce.
From now on, my employee will be converted to an independent contractor so that I cannot be held liable for what they tell. Thanks Encore for showing me the real way to do business. Please walk into my office so that I may scam you!
Hello everyone. Patriotism is your conviction that this country is superior to all other countries because you were born in it.
I am from Burundi and also now'm speaking English, please tell me right I wrote the following sentence: "Ca is your online source for cheap flights and travel deals."
Thank you so much for your future answers :p. Migina.
Here is the number for Ben Sparks.

Just got this call, boiler room call center noise. Ironically right after I got one from 214-451-6687
, same speil
Just got one, typical call center/boiler room noise in the background.
I see that these folks called me back in December. This time, Whitney wanted to the owner. Wouldn't give a call back number, but said she would call again when she got to another phone. By then, I'm sure I'll have another set of questions to confuse them.
they called me, but I did not answered!!!
I hate these telemarketers!!
I will file a complain
Answered the call, but no response from the other side. You know, you'd think if they were telemarketing, they would at try to talk to the people they are calling... I mean, I would never work with a company that hangs up when you ask who they are. In fact, since they hang up when I do ask, how could I?
This company calls us and erases our messages on our machine. I believe this company is running a scam or identy theft ring
To stop them: Call 214-451-6687
and leave whatever message you want!!
You might want to block your Caller ID so they won't have your number
Caller was slow in responding when I answered; asked for me by name - I asked who she was - then she asked to speak to owner - I said no owner and hung up - seemed like she had potentail to be rude. I looked up this number in Dallas & it is shown as a number in west Dallas - somewhere in zips 75247; 75235; & 75212 - not Addison which appears to be their corporate office. Actually this office appears to be located across from my AAMCO service store - maybe I'll go knocking on their door when I bring my car in the first part of July. Also I believe the State Attorneys General investigate nuisance calls: State Attorney General of Texas, 209 W 14th St, Austin, TX 78701
Well I asked my trainer and was told that "the few bad apples" get fired if it is found that they are mis-representing the company. All calls are recorded and randomly listened too.
Any apointments that are set have to be confirmed by a superviser, so if you would like to talk to a superviser go ahead, and pretend to be intrested and make your complaint at that point.
refuses to leave messages or tell what they "offer"
I am currently in training with Encore. While everything I've seen so far looks very beneficial to my future customers, hearing all of these complaints about the people that are supposed to be setting up my appointments sounds very upsetting. I will ask my trainer why these calls are not being done in a professional manor, depending on how complete the answer is I'll report back asap.
Caller from this number hung up when I answered
Erick is defending them. He must work for them to. It is fine to save money but not to have ppl call you over and over and over after NO.
They call at least once a day! I am tired of them.
I got this call at work today and what tipped me off is they asked for the name the line is listed under which is NOT our name and two they asked for the owner and said his name wrong... It is Todd not Tom. SO, I knew it was just sales calls and now I know who also has been calling my home number. They are are to understand and RUDE RUDE RUDE. Good luck to all... How do they get away with this tuff???

I do not want to waste my valuable time at the office or during meetings taking these fraudulanet calls.
Would not let me take a message, sounded like a sales call - would not like to hear from them again I was explaining why I needed to take a message and they hung up
Repeated calls asking for the owner. Will not leave a message.
They did not introduce themselves, asked for me by name, I wasn't in, they asked for a co-owner and when non was available and they where asked to identify themselves they hung up the phone.
They called and ask to speak to an owner -- when I questioned them, they thanked hung-up on me without identifying who they are. This doesn't sound legit.
They should not be calling our phone number as we owe no money and we plan to file a complaint with the no call list.....
They called a number that is in the Do Not Call Registry. I have filed a complaint with the Do Not Call folks at:
Note the https? It's their secure site.
Another option to stop them: Call 214-451-6687. The phone system will tell you the mailbox is full, but if you listen long enough, you will be prompted for other options, including searching the company's phone directory. Enter this, then enter "A" for the "name of the person you're trying to dial." You'll then be in the co's voicemail system and can scroll through the employees by touching 1. Find a voice you like and leave a message with your name and number and ask to be removed. I left a message with a guy named Roger - he called back in an hour or so, apologized profusely, and told me he'd seen to it himself that they'd never call again....
A lady called offering their service to process checks for my business. After telling her I was not interested, she still kept talking. I hung up, and within a minute, they called back. I refused to answer.
Called, but did not leave a message.
"Payment Systems" calls everyday at least once. A real pain. To get back at them, call their toll free at: 866-909-8910
and ask to speak to Mark Harrelson - presidnet of the company. You might mention that you've got some questions about your "credit card processing" and that he suggested you contact him directly (which he did in an article he authored on the subject). That should at least get you through to his voicemail, wherein you can do your own variation of "telemarketing" or rather, "tell-a-marketer where to go!"
Thanks to Carol who posted this ...

I called got an answer from Sharon right away on the first ring. She said she would remove the number immediately. We'll see. Please call her 20 times a day for me.
Credit card processing solicitation. Pretended to be current processor saying they wanted to send updated info.
Continued to call back several times after I hung up.
We get the same thing, they call every week sometimes twice a week. we tell them the we do not want to use their product or service and they keep on calling.
The companies name is Encore Payment systems and their web address is http://www.encoreps.com we filed a complaint with the BBB at http://www.bbb.org and the National Do Not Call Registry at http://www.donotcall.gov I might suggest everyone else do the same, maybe companies like this can be stopped.
These assclowns call me all the time!! I continue to tell them that my company is no longer active and to stop calling...but the still call. AAHHHH!!!!
Got a call today. I did not answer and got no message.
I AM on a do not call list ! It does not stop them.
Called today to inform me they were updating their files.
When I ask them what this was concerning, they wanted to know if I still owned my business at (address) I ask again what the call was concerning and what it had to do with me. We do not do sell calls via phone. I was informed that did not apply to them. I ask again, And why are you calling, since we do not do business with you. They ask again about business location. I ask again and this concern me how ? They hung up !
I filed a complaint online with BBB after repeatedly telling Encore to stop calling and they continued to call. Here's the response I got this morning via email (enjoy the contact information enclosed):
I am responding to your complaint to the BBB on 4/2/07, we are a credit card processing company that only calls business to business, we do not solicit consumers. Unfortunately you did not include your number so that I can be sure you are on the Do Not Call list. If you would please send me the numbers that are being called I will make sure they are removed from our database. I apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused you by our calls.

this number calls and is trying to FAX! I tried to call back to let them know they were trying to fax to the wrong number and EVERY option I pushed went straight to a voicemail! HOW ANNOYING to have to keep hearing the beeping and squelching of a fax machine!
They called yesterday about stopping by today re: credit cards, bad cell phone connection. She transferred me to her secretary-a man, who wanted to verify info. I hung up on them, and they have called back repeatedly since then. They even called early this a.m.
My response got truncated...
I own an internet business and we accept credit cards thru a merchant account with my bank. This company called today and said they do the credit card processing for my bank. (I know that Nova process cards for my bank, so I knew something was strange about this call.) They wanted to "inform me of new rate changes and wanted to know if I would be in my office tomorrow at 1:45. I said why do you want my schedule? They said they wanted to deliver the rate change in person. I said you are NOT coming to my office. They said "you don't want this information floating out there." and I repeated that they were not welcome to show up at my office. I finally hung up on them. (Of course, we are also on the do not call list, but that obviously does not stop these people.)
I own an internet business repeated that they would not be welcome at my place of business! I've called my bank to report this; maybe they can warn other merchant account customers. We are also on the Do Not Call list.
I have been getting calls and hang ups from this number. The company Encore Payment Systems appears to be owned by HSBC bank as shown on their website. I send HSBC an email along with a complaint on the Do Not Call site and BBB.
This scumbags call with regularity once a week. Each call ends with them saying that THIS time they will definitely take me off the list. I called their 800 number888-247-6504
), and spoke to a woman named Cat in sales, who connected me with the operator, who said she would take my number off the list. If the donotcall people don't prosecute this group, then the law is toothless. I think individuals need to band together and start a class action lawsuit against these people.
I keep getting these calls on my house number. I told the last caller that I have been inundated with these calls on my home number and to take me off the list or machine or whatever and never call again. So far I am still getting these calls.
Exactly the same thing Steve wrote: they called and my caller ID only showed the phone number, i didn't answer, googled the number and found this site.
I got on their do-not-call list. Here's how:
Called the number, got "invalid mailbox," pressed zero. The operator was very nice and took my number for their DNC.
tangocharlie Mar 14th, 2007
they wanted personal info and claimed that they were my credit card service provider. scammers.
These people call everday!!!!!
Please put them in jail~!
Jill Johnson Mar 12th, 2007
They continue to call repeated. Used them for Processing, was a total nightmare. EVERYMONTH I had direct pay, from my back...but they continued to call and say my account was late/over due...even though I had bank records to show different...EVERY MONTH! Still calling a year later after I discontinued use!!!
This company keeps calling.
Who are these people?
This came up on my caller ID as: Payment Systems. They called while I was not at home.
They called but I didn't answer. Googled it and found this interesting website. Good to know that they were a CC service. That would have been a waste of cell minutes
IF you are rude to someone, expect them to be rude to you. Maybe just the nice ones talked to me...maybe the people answering the phone have no people skills.
They called me today and asked for the owner. I told them this was a residence, and asked the rep to put me on their dnc list. In a rude manner, the rep said only an owner could do that and hung up. May I suggest that if you are called by this company, Encore Payment Systems, you should file a complaint with them both the fcc and the BBB of Dallas (http://www.dallas.bbb.org/).
They called and asked for the owner. I said she wasn't in and they asked for the owners cell phone number. What nerve! I told them I would never give that number out.
Had a meeting with them, good service. Just cause someone calls you on the phone doesn't mean it's a scam, just means they are looking for business. Verizon calls me twice a week, are they a 'scam' company?
Called 2-15-07, saw ID, didn't answer, left no message, read your comments, filed complaint. Thanks everyone!
Called and left no message
Thanks to the person who posted the idea of wasting their time... LOVE IT... and will try it if they call me again!

To Erick commenting on 1/14/07: You either work for Encore or you are stupid. From all the comments on here, this company is dishonest and rude. Any company that has to call and harass people is not worth doing business with.
Called asking to speak to the owner. When I said he wasn't in (and asked if it was a solicitation), she said no and had "a few other numbers" she could call to find him.
Call from "Quincy Hall", sounded more like Barry White. Hung up when asked what the call was in regards too.
They've called 4 times, but I blocked them after the 1st call. We're on the dnc list also, but they don't care. They just need to pay a little fine to have their attention gotten....
This is one of several calls in recent weeks from this number. When I answer, they are either silent and do not respond to my queries, or they/he/she just hangs up. Today, I did not answer. I let them listen to the message on our corporate answering machine. They hung up when they heard, "This call is being recorded and monitored for security purposes."
Why do I keep logging this phone number with the FTC/donotcall.gov yet they still call me?
We are on the Do Not Call list, yet, we have received 2 calls from them today already. I was hung up on when i asked to be taken off their telemarketing list.
I just want to clarify that I have never commented on here before. Someone has wrongfully used my name. The comment on 10-20-06 was NOT me. Funny how that person and the comment by Marcus have the same IP address... Encore is NOT a scam! They can beat your current rates and save you money on your bill! I guarantee 90% of you merchants out there are getting overcharged and double charged on your statements, and you dont even know! ENCORE WILL SAVE YOU MONEY!
I have my number on Indiana's do not call list. I do not know if that puts me on a national do not call list.
I have recieved calls from this number before and decided to look up. The call is usually a single ring that disconnectes when I answer.
Said her name was Pam, asked for the owner by first name, when I asked what it was in reference to, she hung up on me.
Just got a call from "Victoria", asking for the owner. Told her he was on travel, so she said she would call again later. Hung up and checked this site...she won't be talking to my boss any time soon!
You guys are harping on the fact that you're getting calls from a company that wants to earn your business and save your business money. I guarantee you that Encore can beat the rates you're currently paying, offer you better equipment and services. Why not give them a chance what do you have to lose. I don't see your current processor beating down your door to save you money, increase revenue, and offer a better service. Do you?
Calls and repeatly hangs up when I answer.
They never leave a msg, but I see their # on my caller id when I get home from work. Googled their # and found this site. Thanks-now I can block their da&% #.
Wanted us to use them for credit card processing. Sounded worse than telemarketing of old.
Called and left no message. Thanks to all who posted detailed info here. I don't do business with telemarketers. If I needed credit card processing, I'd call someone else!
Wanted us to fax retriever info on our card machine to receive reduced rates...yeah right
They have been calling for 3-4 weeks - no messages - i do not know who this is. Want them to stop calling mu cell phone.

I am reporting this call as a fraud.
Told them my business was out of business, they said sorry and hung up. They Called two days later and I didn't answer the call. They are now on my do not answer list.
What scumbags! Left a message on the machine that sounded like a drunken party. I'm on the National and Ohio no call list too!
I have received several calls from here, and it's the same speech every time left on my BUSINESS machine.
I have transcribed the message here for you all to see the line of BS they are pouring out. You see where they claim to be non-profit, this means they are no subject to the Do Not Call list!
Don't fall for this; I too have asked many times to be removed from their list several times.
Also, there never was a letter sent as it claims.
Hi, this is Cathy with financial freedom. You may recall receiving a letter saying that you have been approved to consolidate you credit cards down to as low as a 1.5% interest rate. This is not a new loan; you have already been approved by a certified non-profit agency. So if you can please have your statements ready when you call, my number is 1-800-706-6208
. Again, may name is Cathy and you can reach me at 1-800-706-6208
until 10 tonight.
I have had several calls from this number and each time they are rude. So this time I did not answer. Also one of the times I asked them to place me on their do not call list and the lady said they check the list all the time and this number was not on the list.
We've got a nifty trick on our small business PBX. It says "Press 1 for sales or service, press 2 to speak to the owner." Press "2" and you're sent straight to a voicemail box without ringing any of our phones. It works every time! They called 6 times in the last two days, according to our PBX logs. Hung up after leaving an empty message each time.
They have called and called and called and called. I answered once, asked them to put me on their donotcall list and that I was on the national list. They still call everyday. What a waste! Don't they realize that telemarketing just doesn't work with the saavy internet generation and if I wanted CC services, I'd find someone reputable!
They seem like thear aree listed with the Dalas BBB, so everyone call them and complain.
..or call/email their recruiter line and fill up the mailbox with complaints.

Encore called saying the name of their company was "Payment Systems". I called back and found out it was Encore Payment Systems. My cell number, which is the number they called, is on the donotcall.org list.

My cable phone service (Comcast) allows me to block up to 12 numbers. I just put 2144516687 on on my blocked list. No more calls from them! Check to see if your phone provider offers this.
Have no idea who this is. All I can find out is it is from Dallas, TX
They called, asking for the owner, and when asked to remove us from their calling list, was told that only the owner could do that. I let him know that is not the case, and he was very rude, and hung up on me. Called the number back, got an answering machine, and left a message letting them know that I will be placing a complaint with the FCC.
I did not answer. They did not leave a message.

The people from Encore keep calling the business line where I work. It is a bit annoying but I've learned to turn this kind of people into my entertainment. I drain their time.. talk nonsense, put them on hold n forget 'em. Today when a rude guy called from Encore.. I told him he has to give me three references and a credit card number before I can transfer him to anyone. Encore and others... they 'Make my Day'....
After reading some of this thread, I called the number and got a recording about Encorereps accepting interviewees during certain times, then I had an opportunity to leave a message. So I did, telling them not to call our office anymore. We'll see if it works . . .
