CRS called twice this morning asking if we knew someone named Robin ___. I told the first caller we did know her or her husband. She argued with me, saying they had used our name as a reference and how else could they have gotten our phone number. I told her I did not know. She continued to argue with me and I hung up. Within 1/2 minute, a man called back trying to convince me they all was well and they were just trying to get in touch with these people. When I again told him I didn't know them, he called me a liar. I won't repeat what I called him. Nice way to wake up in the morning.

These thugs can't keep their own threatening scripts straight, Nancy. Don't make the same error as prior commentors here. Save those messages, make recordings of those and live calls if possible. They will be useful if you threaten suit yourself. Making legal threats and acting in a deceptive manner give you two counts already. Should it reach a court process, the opposition pays your legal expense when they (I predict) lose and cut you a settlement check.

As Jude mentioned, there are laws to help you at the Federal and state levels. Learn how to exercise your rights as an alleged debtor at FTC-dot gov.

CRS - collection agency. Mr. Howard called to tell me that their client, Safeco Auto Insurance was in the process of suing me and that he was representing Safeco Insurance. I had no idea why in the world Safeco Insurance was in the process of suing me! I never had insurance with Safeco. Mr. Howard then informs me that he is willing to make a settlement offer and leaves his phone number and a file number. He then says his client is Citi Auto! I think he was referring to Citi Financial Auto. What happened to Safeco Auto Insurance? I listened to his message three times and had my daughter listen to it as well. He definitely says Safeco Auto Insurance at the beginning of the message and then switches to Citi Auto at the end. Needless to say, I will not be calling back.

A Mr. Johnson contacted me indicating the same message as Steve below. He had the same messages as Jude's in subsequent messages. I deleted them and will be sending in a Cease and Desist letter as well. They are relentless and continue to call even though I have told them there was no one by the name they asked for. Very unprofessional! By the way, the numbers used were (214) 324-9575 nad 800-214-5362...

I received a call today from800-214-7887, but these people used 800-214-5362 on 5/30 and 6/12. On 6/2/2009 they used (214) 324-9575, which is their main number. They are sneaky. This is a collection agency called Commercial Recovery Systems of Dallas, TX. They are the absolute worst of a bad lot of scum sucking bottom feeders that give cat fish a bad name. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) is a joke to these vermin. Download the full 26 pages of the act from the fEDS.

A Mr. Evans called today and said that "he had received my case from a client, a bank, and that the IRS would be involved". No company mentioned. No "purpose to collect a debt" per FDCPA rules. Just a threat.

The stink of this call sent me back to my collection call log. On May 30, 2009 a Marcus Lee called from (214) 324-9575 and said that he was "processing a complaint against me in his department". He called back on 6/2; same threat. On 6/12 he upped the ante by saying that he was with the "Law Enforcement Division of CRS", and that he had a "complaint against me for falsifying information", but he was giving me the "benefit of the doubt". He concluded with "you have been notified".

Send your best CEASE and DESIST letter (download from Internet) with the enumerated violations (download FDCPA from Internet)and send the certified letter to:
Tim Ford President & CEO
8035 ERL Thornton Freeway
Dallas, TX 75228-7018
(214) 324-9575
FAX 214-319-9673 ( I usually fax and mail)

ANOTHER PHONE NUMBER USED by CRS is 800-214-5362.

I also send priority with a delivery confirmation, but certified is best if you can afford it.

Other officers are David J. Devany VP Systems MGR, and Jack Cecil VP Marketing.

These people are liars, abusive, and EXTREMELY PROUD of IT. They are REALLY in need of some 19th century TEXAS FRONTIER JUSTICE from Roy Bean.

Good luck,
JTO
