Is their activity illegal? Other than complaining to the FTC, what can I do about these calls?

we are registered to the DONOTCALLLISTS...but still get unknown numbers that calls us every single day especially at dinner time...this is one of the numbers...its very frustrating getting up to pick up the phone and just find out that theres nobody on the other line or just telemarketers that wont even take No for answer...So what is the DONOTCALLLISTS purpose is...just a question bec this is going out o hand...
Got the same call as everyone else but it was a man with a foreign accent that kept wanting to know when to reach "Wendell" and when I said over the weekend, he kept asking the same thing until he said "OK, thank you, goodbye."
The female caller with a foreign accent asked for "Jeffrey". I have received several calls from different people asking for Jeffrey, possibly a bill collector...
Got the same type of call as everyone else, however the thick accent asked for my husband's deceased grandmother who has NEVER used this number.. she has been gone for over 6 years

I just wanted to add another voice to those being harassed by this company. My story is no different than the others described. Hopefully it will soon stop.
They called me last night at 10pm. I tried to reverse the call and it says it is not a number in service. It is definitely from a foreign country.
They justed called over and over. We were bnot home, and they called back numerous times. Never left a message.

Just had ninth call from this number in three days (this was first time I was home). Lady with accent, asked to speak with homeowner about refinancing home. I reminded her of the frequent call history, told her I knew she was calling from Nationwide (thanks to this website) and told her not to call again or I would report it to FCC. She apoligized and said it would not happen again.....we shall see. Thanks again to this website!!!
Repeat calls several times a day
Regardless of what Excell Services says in its comments, this number is still repeatedly calling. I received 3 calls today alone!

I have had two calls in two days from this number, both callers identifying themselves as "Senior Loan Officers" with "Home Loan Services." I had a long heated conversation with the first caller about their violation of the do not call list. At several points, the caller recited my home address, and said he would be coming to my home. He refused to give his address. I got this number wit *69. I've made two online complaints at the federal do not call website so far. In that my guess is enforcment is probably directed to the highest number of complaints, I urge everyone to file complaints for every call they get from this number (just google "do not call list" and the gov site has an online complaint form.

Thanx Bob. I used your toll free number info and called - turned the tables on this company. Each time they call and hang up on my answering machine, I call them and say nothing. It just makes me feel better...
They call us all the time. Half the time they ask for Mary, the other half they hang up. I have repeatedly told them there is no Mary here. It now seems like harassment. Whenever I call the # back it says "Lines are temporarily busy, please try again later.
I have gotten several calls from this phone #. No message ever left. I did talk with someone who claimed to be a loan agent about a loan. He gave a name of someone close to mine and wanted to talk with them. The "loan agent" had a mid-eastern/Indian (India) sounding voice. BTW if you call it back, it says the phone # is discontected or out of service. I get "unassigned" as caller ID.

This company has called a couple of times a day all week. Sometimes when I have picked up they never pick up their end. Today I picked up and they said hello, I said I was not interested in whatever they were selling and that I did not want them to call back, before I could finish my sentence they hung up on me without saying anything.
I don't take calls with Unkown Name. I just pick up and hang it up.

This company solecits infomation pertaining to home loans.
Several calls a day. Usually rings three to four times and quits. When we do answer they hang-up or just sit there silently.
They called at 3:40 AM and woke me up! They also called last Thursday evening. No messages were left either time.
Getting calls from this number with no sound. When I called the number, I got a recording that says it is a non working number. Then how does it show up on the Caller ID?

I get the same call. Actually I'm speaking to Kelvin right now (the manager) He's real persistent. I'm going through the process right now. He wants to lower my monthly payments and interest rate.
How unorganized is the FCC if they can't take this number and cut it off. I've been harassed by this number for the past month and they just keep coming...all hours of the day. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that a government can't take a simple step and block this number. I'm going to call my state attorney general about it. There's no other way to stop it than to just keep reporting, but don't hold your breath!
This phone number calls at least twice a day - we have never heard a voice
I have received 5 or more calls per day this past week from 'Excell Services' aka "Texas Call" and no one speaks except one time and he told me it was a mortgage company. I am on the no-call list and this company calls from 8 am to 9 pm. I noted calls on 3/27 at 8:54 pm, 3/30 at both 11:59 am and 1:23 pm, and 3/31 at 6:10 pm. Help?

I've gotten multiple calls as well and as recommended from a posting on this site, called AMR Home Loand at 866-436-2689
x115 and asked for Kelvin Smith. I got someone with a thick accent who told me his name was Eric Johnson, who asked for my name, number and said it would stop. We shall see.
I am so sick of them calling us and hanging up. Don't they have anything better to do? I'm definately going to call my phone company so that they can catch these people. It's so annoying and bothersome.
We are on a No Call List and are getting multiple phone calls (multiple times a day, sometimes just 1 1/2 hours part) from 214-270-1696. Name shows up "unknown name" or "Excell Services" and no one is ever there and messages are never left.
It is irritating for our home phone ringing all the time to find out is them.
Apparently from the website whocalled.us this number has been reported 33 times and each posting references the same experiences we have had.

I have gotten at least 12 phone calls from this number up to 3-4 times a day. When you answer, no one says anything. When VM picks it up, no message is left. We are on Missouri No Call List and I would and am tired of this company calling us morning, day and night.
We have been receiving 3-4 calls a day from this place also. most of the time there is no one on the line. one day they talked about lowering our mortgage rate. places like this need to be put out of business.

Jason is right. I called the number he listed and the voices match the people that have called us nonstop all this week. My son & I have been ringing their phone non-stop (with a cell phone) to give them a taste of their own medicine. My son is 5 and screams "STOP CALLING!"

We have had the same trouble as many here -- we have received multiple calls from this number. When I pick up, there is noone there or it appears as if someone hangs up. Since I have never spoken to a person on the other end, I haven't been able to tell them to stop calling....it is definitely a problem!
We get repeated calls. The more you tell them to stop, the more they call. Sometimes its a voice - sometimes nothing. Trying to report through do not call list and asking local phone company if they can block number.
I have received the same calls as all of you. What I have done is put the call on hold and let them continue to tie up their time. The calls still come, but not as frequent.
It is nice to hear that I am not alone in having this number on my caller ID. I did get one call from some sort of Mortgage Company and told them that I was not interested but the calls have continued to come everyday. The calls have come at such random times that I was afraid that someone was trying to find out my habits and when I was home. I am also on the 'do not call list'.
We informed the caller (from this number) that we were reporting them and he started badgering me, saying how scared he was. He then started to tell me "my personal" information including where I live and said "he will see us tomorrow" and hung up. We are now getting many hang-up calls from this number. 5 already today (3/3)
Here is who you complain to your own local phone utitilties companies they can put a tracker on your phone and catch these people. What they have done is grabbed this phone nuber and put it on our caller id's it is not theirs they do not own it. So call your phone company and public utiilties and file a formal complaint they can track them and catch them.
These people call several times a day now and then someone will say something. I have requested to be taken off of their list told them I am on the Do No Call List and they keep calling. I have reported them 7 times to the Do No Call Website. How do you get them to stop.

Excell Services does not make outbound calls. We had 214-270-1696 as one of our inbound numbers but we have cancelled it due to this problem.
Some other company is making these calls and they were using our number.
One report we received indicated that it was a company called Nationwide Mortgage Company.
We have reported this to our telephone company and they are investigating.

This call comes in several times a day. Nobody talks when I answer the phone and nobody leaves a message. A call back to the number gets no ring. ID says Excell Services 214-270-1696. How can I get this harrassment to stop?
