I keep getting these calls from 360-xxx-xxxx, this one is 360-322-6030 as "out of area" on June 26. Every one I have answered has been a scam. The name is usually reported as Ind Sur Group although sometimes it comes up as a mis-spelling of that or as "unknown" or "out of area". It's a fake survey to "win a cruise from our sponsor". It's may actually be a way for you to part with your private data and MAYBE buy a cruise - I don't know, I never get that far - but others' report it so. NEVER give your personal information to ANYONE over the phone! You do NOT know who is on the other end! Other numbers I've reported include:
425-390-8930 on June 29 as Ind Sur Group
360-460-1844 on June 28
360-461-4559 on June 20,
360-474-3936 on 6-18-2012,
425-390-8919 on June 14,
206-496-0953 on June 11,
360-474-3915 on June 7,
503-457-1368 as Ind Sur Groiup on June 4, and
206-496-0946 as Ind Sr Group on May 31.

The trick to making these calls stop is to convince them that they are wasting their time and resources to call you. This is very difficult to do since the resources that they waste are small and the reward of scamming you out of your money is so great. I have found a way however. You must proceed until you get to a live person. Then tell that person in the most forceful, obscene fashion that you can that they should go engage in intercourse with themselves and then call you back to report the results. This conveys the idea that subsequent calls will not be productive and they remove your number from the list more certainly than any other way that I have found. It also is very good for relieving the frustration that they have caused you to feel.
Perversely, this is also what is best for them since it prevents them from wasting time trying to wheedle you into changing your mind.
Try it, you'll like it.
Feel free to cut and paste this advice on similar sites!

360-474-3936 on 6-18-2012, 425-390-8919 on June 14, 206-496-0953 on June 11, 360-474-3915 on June 7, 503-457-1368 as Ind Sur Groiup on June 4, and 206-496-0946 as Ind Sr Group on May 31. There were more prior to that but I'd already erased them. It is NOT a survey, it is an attempt to sell you a cruise. It starts with a teaser recorded message that you can win a cruise from one of their sponsors if you just take a survey. Press one to talk, press nine to be removed from the calling list. They obviously got the message wrong - it should be "press 9 to get ON to our SUCKER list." Atlanta, GA area.

You would think by the volume of these B.S. calls that the Feds could make a few bucks by simply fining them each time they don't observe the DNC list. Maybe if they start calling members of Congress something will get done.

I hope more people check into the fact WHO stands to profit most off those that get on the internet and look up these numbers that call.So many calls and no one answers ?

Once one goes and looks the number up again and again with different numbers changing all the time it may appear someone could possibly be a way to herd people like cattle to these sites that make monies off your ad clicks and the use of your IPO address that now follows your movements with tracking cookies.

Just think of the traffic this type of search generates!

You will notice the more this technique is used the more companies you see come online that offer information in your search for unkown numbers.

Very profitable way some companies can generate a whole hell of alot of revenue.

Eventually this if it is a scam is getting closer to being revealed.

These people are calling my cell phone when I'm in the doctor's office, in bed asleep, etc. Can't the POWERS THAT BE do something to stop these scammers. I don't want a free cruise for answering a survey. The survey is useless. The expenses, taxes, transportation to the cruise boards, etc. will be quite expensive and you will end up losing on that deal, even if you actually got a 2 day cruise. You can block up to 5 numbers from calling your cell phone. Follow thru by adding this number to your blocked calls.

Called my PAY PER MINUTE CELL PHONE. I have never given the number to any company, just to 3 friends. So they have no legitimate reason to call me, they must be dialing numbers at random.

When I didn't answer, they didn't take the hint. They left pre-recorded voice mail from "Sarah" at "Independent Survey Group" offering a free cruise if I would take a 30 second election survey -- free that is except for gratuities and a "small tax".

Why can't we get a law making it OK to string these people up by their toes and treat them like piƱatas?
