The phone is ringing, and I don't recognize the number, All Caller ID says is, "NAME UNAVAILABLE".
Please help me figure out who is calling and what they want
No provided |
noprovided calls from 10 phone numbers:
This is Home Depot credit service. They want to speak to you
regarding your credit account with them.
It would be nice if they left a message on my phone so as not
to leave me guessing it might be a telemarketer.
This number calls our house 6 times a day in pairs of two(morning, afternoon and evening). I asked to have our number removed and asked to speak to a supervisor over 10 times. She finally said she would try to find one and hung up. I am so tired of these people calling!!
I called them back to check and it is definitely Capital One.
Called our house late & never left a message
They phone over and over again never leaving a message on my work phone. This has been going on for weeks.
This number has been calling frequently. I think it is because the first time, I told them not to call. Was not interested. But now they forget and just hang up. Still a nuisance.
They are an harassment. They continue calling daily every two hours and don't leave a message. They need to blocked from the phone system. They continues violating the law by harassing people.
it a ready perk card an incentive from maybe capitol one.I recieved a actual $50 card, but its just the credit card if you owe them trying to get payment I think anyways
my card is not working
Ms. Terrell, it is unwise to publish a phone number you meant to protect in an open forum where any data harvester and scammer can find it. Your caller does not maintain this site or this web page. You will not get compliance with your orders until you deliver them DIRECTLY to your caller.
Cap One has been known to use third party collectors which then pose as C-1 when making contact, which violates the FDCPA. Be certain who is at the other end of that phone and send dispute letters and/or cease-comm notices accordingly.

NCO FINACIAL COLLECTION ON BEHALF OF CAPITAL ONE THEY WANT YOU TO MAKE A PHONE PAYMENT. THEY PUT THROUGH AN OVERLIMIT CAR RENTAL THAT I WAS RETURNING TO PAY IN CASH, CARD IS ONLY FOR 300 DOLLARS THEY PUT THROUGH 372.OO NOW THEY WANT ME TO BRING DOWN OVERLIMIT 18 DAYS BEFORE IT IS EVEN DUE. I have a CAP.ONE CARD.and called customer service number on the back of the card...my account is in fine standing and they said NO ONE is calling from CAPITAL ONE,and they couldn't find ANY reason that they would.THIS IS A SCAM!!!! DON'T give any info. they never leave message,I also called back this number, and was asked to give card number DON'T do it!!! If in doubt, call the customer service number on the back of you're card.
WARNING!!!! This is NOT from Capital One. This is a scam trying to get your credit card number and social security number. I saw this number on my Caller ID a few times. This morning I got a call so I decided to answer. I do have a Capital One Platinum card and also a card for my business. None have ever been delinquent, not once. My credit and account are in excellent standing. When I answered the call, no one said anything. Eventually they hung up the phone. I called back and got the Cap One greeting and was immediately asked to enter my credit card number. I did not. I said "Customer Service". The prompt insisted on a credit card number. I insisted on Customer Service. I got the hold and was told I was being transferred. I got a piece of a message saying it was 'Raymond', then the call was cut off. I laughed. These scammers would go to any lengths to steal people's money.
Hang up call to cell.
I have been called many times by numerous "research" or telemarketing services and have discovered if you answer the phone. . ."________________Police Department, what is your emergency". The calls stop immediately!!
I have been getting 3-5 calls PER DAY from this number for quite a long time. How do I get off the list? This is definitely a harrassment and infringement on our personal lives. I turn on the phone and lay it down until I hear the beep hangup, thinking it will kick me out of the system...hasn't happened. I answer it and ask them to hold until it beeps...still get the calls! If it WERE a charity that I care about, I WOULD NOT contribute because of the way they harrass! I WANT NO PART OF THIS!!
Charity call for come childrens charity. I hung up.
a man called saying it was a research call regarding radio stations in the area. i just said i listen to XM and they said thank you and hung up.
We have been harassed several times in recent days by this number. A call-back reaches a auto-message saying that we've been contacted for "marketing research or a sales call".

I usually don't answer this type of call, but got tired of them waking me up, so I did and they asked to speak to me by name. I asked who's calling and they said National Caregiver's Services and started their speil. I interrupted and said, Would you please remove this number from your calling list? They said it would take up to 30 days, but they would remove it. I then called the number back and a recording said I had been contacted for marketing research or a sales call.
Have no idea who they are. Called my cell phone. Don't know who they are but I have blocked them.
Answered - donation solicitors for Skyward Bound Ranch in Brownwood, Texas.
This was the first time I answered - they have been calling once or twice a day for MONTHS.
Well, I only answer calls I want to answer...and I never answer with truthful information. I never lie, I just don't supply information. Now, I hava had it with calls from phone banks in India. I am in no way, shape, nor form, a racist...but I simply tell them...that I do not speak with Harijan...or any other Wogs. I also lecture them about taking jobs from Americans...and have been known to leave fake names like, Mai Whang or Hugh Jorgan. I don't care if you owe a debt or not. If they are calling instead of writing and serving you with papers, they have already deemed that your account isn't worth screwing with. Just tell them to FO.
I wonder if this is some scam. They want to know if a person lives here that I have never heard of and how long I have had this number and they will take the number out of the system. I said I wanted to keep my number. I attempted to call back this so called "Signet Bank VA" with no luck.
I see from other callers this is Discover Card. Contrary to what some have said, we DO have a Discover Card and we are still getting these. Unfortunately that may mean in our case they are not in violation of DNC. Thank you for providing this info:
"Customer has to call 800-DISCOVER to be removed" I will give it a try
Called and no one was there upon answering. Called it back and got the recorded message of "you have been contacted for a marketing or sales call." repeats then hangs up. Will report to do not call.
got a what seems to be $50 Ready Perks card in mail (readyperks.com) says to call this number to activate card. looks like a real prepaid credit card! when they answer, it is Capitol One! seems like a scam just to get information from you. cannot activate card!!!!!
Thay are ascking for a name wich i know, to do some bussines.1-800-955-6600.Every day this No. is coling us.How to stop this calls.???????????,How to STOP thise HARRASSMENTS.They asck for a person never had live here.I do tell them the same story. This person is not living hereand do not call here PLEASE.
I hate when a company calls for my husband and won't say who they are... especially when it is a woman and they sound all secerative.
I have NEVER applied for Discover and i get them every day several times a day ...and no I'm not picking up
same number keeps calling me!
Not doing Discover right now. Doing cold calls for some phone related company trying to develop leads by having someone answer questions for a "survey". Forgot it. Maintain a personal "Do Not Call List" - it is called BLOCKING and it works great. No calls from BLOCKED number get through. Hey (800) 295-7193 call as often as you like as it will just keep ringing in your computer's ear with no answer - YOUR BLOCKED!
If you are recieving calls from any company go to your local Attorney General website and file a complaint. The more info you have regarding number of calls, the phone numbers used and the name of the company the better.
They will contact the company and they WILL stop contacting you...plus you get a nice a little letter of apology from said company. It's harrassment...plain and simple.
Rude caller, asked for someone that doesn't live here. Then wanted to know if my number was new, told her it was none of her business. She told me it didn't have to be so difficult. Asked what dept she was from and she wouldn't tell me. Hung up on the witch. Called the number today, the recording asked for my acc #, don't have one, then it asked for my social security number. Totally out of line. I have emailed Captital One.
Called my cell phone but did not leave a message.
answered, no one there but returned call. is Capital One Credit Card.
He's right, you guys checked the box yourselves that allowed Discover to make these calls to you. So, essentially, you apparently simple people told Discover, "Here's my phone number, go ahead and call me with things you're selling in the future!". Well, they're calling, and you morons forgot. Do you want to know the best way to get them to stop calling? PICK UP THE DAMN PHONE! They only need to here the words "not interested" and you're home free, never called again! You people are a joke. Instead of answering at least once to see what they want, you cry about the Do Not Call list that is apparently supposed to be a magical shield against any foreign phone calls. Jesus Christ people, use your brains!
Wow, you people are really hostile. I make those calls for a living and if you people had any sense you would listen for a second instead of being ignorant and in security of your 'do not call' programs you needlessly applied to. Answering Machines ARE the reason you get called multiple times in a row. The more you dodge the call the more calls you will get. And the 'do not call' list DOESN'T APPLY TO THIS because you YOURSELF applied to discover for a credit card and checked the box allowing you to be called for promotions. The DO NOT CALL list doesn't apply to you unless you actually say the words 'do not call'. Get off your high horse and open your ears for once, it's a good product.
we don't answer, they wait until the "beep" on the voice mail and than hangup
Called here on Saturday. Do not have any business with them. Do not want them calling here again!!
I'm getting phone calls from them...it's because Chevy Chase Bank contacted them about some fees I had with them and never paid.. They were several $ 35.00 fees they charged my account because I was not using it and had it "parked" for a long time.. so now they are trying to collect on about $ 90.00 I'll eventually pay it most likely..but yes the calls are from NCO a debt collection agency used by Chevy Chase Bank aka Capital One Bank.
423-467-6999, shows up as Associates Commerce on caller ID, appears to be a collector for Home Depot Accounts.
After just receiving my 9th call of the day I decided to call a number that was mentioned on this page - 1-800-347-2683. I talked to a gentleman who works for DISCOVER in Utah. He said he would put my name on their list of do not call and apologized. Time will tell.
I just received my 8th call today. I do not have a DISCOVER card. I blocked the number but it still rings once before they are disconnected. I also want them to leave me alone.
I called back, got a recording that it was a sales call or marketing research call.
This is a BS call and next time they call, I'm going to step outside and answer it. Two can play this game. I'm also on the DO NOT CALL list.
THIS NUMBER HAS CALLED ME ABOUT 15 DAYS IN THREE DAYS. I DON'T ANSWER MY CELL PHONE AT WORK. HOWEVER, AFTER BEING COMPLETELY ANNOYED, I CALLED THE NUMBER BACK. IT IS A RECORDING:
"YOU HAVE BEEN CONTACTED FOR MARKETING RESEARCH OR A SALES CALL"
The thing is, Capital One (didn't know who it was 'til I got home and dialed from my blocked landline) called me on my mobile phone, which is incredibly rude, as it costs me when they do that. But here's the KICKER: I closed out my account with them, oh, easily nine years ago! But every once in the while, they start this little onslaught of phone calls to me. I never pick up. In the past, I've called back to complain, and each time, I'm promised any and all calls from them to me will cease and desist. HAH!
Last night, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, they called my landline three separate times.
Now, to be fair, this may NOT actually BE Capital One. The automated system answers with a recorded female's voice stating "Capital One," followed only by requesting one's credit card number. Since I don't go further than that -- I mean, I don't punch that in but, instead, just hang up
TO ROSS C.: YOU call the FBI! Actually, it's even simpler than THAT. Just go to their website (fbi.gov), and find the page where you can lodge a complaint. When I did it about six months ago, around 11PM, an FBI agent called me back in less than FIVE MINUTES, and no kidding!!! He said it was slow in their headquarters. Crazy, huh? But YOU call the FBI, since you're suggesting others do that.
They Called & Asked For A Phillis Delpugit, Person That We Don't Know, And I Told Them That "She's No Longer At This Number" Because We Got A New Number Since April. The Person, Who Has A Strange Accent, Caught An Attitude And Asked Me "How Long Did You Have This Number?", Then I Said "2 Months". And Then, They Were Rude And They Took Our Number Off Their Call List. They Hung Up On Me Without Saying "Bye Bye".
It's Capital One and they have a special offer for you. They have left messages on my phone several times now.
Receive four to five call a day from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm
Send me,you know what.
I received multiple calls from this no, I would hear a automated recording, after a few days a live person called me from the no. I advised I never had a capital one credit card no, they asked me for my social security no to confirm, I would only give them my full name, the rep. verified the name was not the same they had on file for the credit card, but explained since I would not give him my social security no, he would not remove my no. I asked for a manager the manager said she would remove my no, after I called her from my no, to show that I was not who they were looking for, since they do have caller id. I had peace for 2 days and the calls continued. So for a bout a week of speaking to a manager after each call, I changed my no.
calls several times a day on my CELL! no one there when answered!
Call 4-5 times a day. When answered, no ones is on the other side.
They call and call and call. Three times today and it is only noon
For those that get hung up on when they get a call, it's probably an automated call checking to see if someone answers the phone. The number is then added to the sheet a rep needs to call for the next day. It seems their system has a lot of erroneous numbers though. They probably do a bulk search for any number that matches the name or some other piece of information on file.
This number calls our house 6 times a day in pairs of two(morning, afternoon and evening). I asked to have our number removed and asked to speak to a supervisor over 10 times. She finally said she would try to find one and hung up. I am so tired of these people calling!!
Called my 81 year old mom and kept asking for my dad, he was in the hospital, wouldn't say why they called. Now someone is calling with a local number and asking for someone we don't know and won't leave a message. Calling 3x a day driving my mom nuts. They don't have a capital one card. When you call the local number it says it is disconnected and not in use. I think it is the same people.
this number called my home phone for a period of more than 6 month, called 3X a day everyday.
Same crap here...Capital One, I dont have an account with them and I have asked them twice to stop calling 10 times a day. Some idiot today told me that my number must have been someone's else number at one point. I told the fool that it was a new area code and number when I got it 10 years ago. Stupid fools
i work here and its not a scam and its a simple call like any other call lol
This business SIGNET BANK , Va keeps calling my Mother's NEW PHONE NUMBER , she is 87 years old and doesn't need this very rude and annoying company calling her.I called this ph no.back and it was Capital One . She has no account ith this company.... and the government needs to put a stop to these Credit card companies and their tactics.
How can I stop this harrassment ? I have put her on the do not call list many times and so has my Brother ,That was a waste of time.I need an answer to all this nonsense?
Thank you, Samariam
Called asking for someone named 'Mandy". The gal calling wouldn't identify herself or her company.
They are crooks sending out collection letters with no information on them whatsoever about who they are collecting for. I am pretty sure they are making up debts or using old information that was settled to try and get people to send them money.
they called and call and call no message. Then find out from others this is Citi Bank calling. so how does this large company get away with being able to Harass people and get away with it? This country has no concern for Joe Public. I am on the do not call list and I am wondering does that list work. ??
calls but calls several times a day no message... Harassment calls from Citi Bank.. the very one that is holding this country hostage in real estate.
several days of calls from this number. no one on other end of phone when answered. whenh i called back it was capitol one.
Call came to Kansas at 09:59 hours CST on 1-18-10. Call not answered and no message left. Other posters advised that this is a telemarketer for Discover cards.
If this is really Capital One then wgy not leave a message? I know the Privacy Act limits what they can say but they can at least have the common sense to leave a message that states something like. . ."This is Capital One with an important message, please call us at XXX-XXX-XXXX." If they cannot take the time to leave a message then I do not have time to call a number back just because it shows on caller ID.
CitiBank is their credit card servicer.
I doubt that Capital One is the owner of this number. I've had a CapOne account for many years and I don't think they've ever called. They notify by mail. The two calls I got today from this number were ID'd only as Toll Free Call, and they hung up with no message. Legitimate businesses don't do that.
When I get a call from an unknown number, I never pick up. If it's important they'll leave a message.
They called and left no msg. They call all through out the day.
I called the number and an automated message says, "You have been contacted for a sales call or marketing research". Do NOT answer this one. It will be a waste of your time, too.
I'll be more enthusiastic about encouraging thinking outside the box when there's evidence of any thinking going on inside it.
dull aching pain in lower leg relief pain in one breast identifier pain pill pain in boob ft jones lyric mike pain t
this number called me three times today. everytime i answer no one answers back and then they hang up. im sick of it!
tell them they have wrong number. they will take you out from calling their list.
it takes about 24hrs to be removed.
it is capital 1
For those of you that insist they call because we have debt with whatever company it is, you could not be more wrong. I have never had a credit card with capitalone. I'm basically debt free aside to normal living expenses. In the past if I was late on anything I would get a call directly from the company. They would leave messages that identified who they were calling for and who they were. I think, by law they cannot leave detailed info. on a phone message but at least you would be given a contact name and # to call back with. I receive at least 5 calls a day from #'s like this either at home or on my cell. Oddly
enough I changed my cell provider about 4 months ago & now have a new # so I know the call is not for me. They just want some fool to be dumb enough to provide their personal information. Best advice would be not to answer. I'm pretty sure if you owed money to someone, you would be hounded by mail as well as by ligit phone calls.
RDI Marketing Svc, Oxford, OH 45056 Telemarketing Services
My son lost his job, got behind on his payments, and keeps getting phone calls from these folks. Fair enough, I guess, because he IS behind on his payments.
BUT, sometimes when they call, if I don't have the answering machine on my phone will eventually ask them to enter the access code to check the messages on my phone!!! This doesn't happen with other calls. I have NO IDEA what they are trying to do on their end, but THIS is REALLY CREEPY!!!
Seven calls within 4 hours... No mesages were left ! When I did try to answer it no one was ever there !
Yeah, CitiCard phoned me about 7 times in a row last night (literally with no gap in between calls) and demanded to speak to my father. When I said he was out and offered to take a message, the woman started asking me a lot of questions and started getting really pushy. Even after I had asked her to try again tomorrow (it was about 9pm at night and my mother was sleeping as she had to be up very early the next morning) she left it about 5 mintes and phoned again. Terrible service... we don't even owe them money or anything, I don't see why they can't just leave a message like any other company and allow us to get back to them in our own time :(
Got fed up with these blokes. So I created a CVF card file for all currently known CapitalOne number assignments. The VCF file adds 35+ each w Home, Fax, Mobile and Business as incremental names for CapitalOne. Assigns to 'Ignore' group for silent ring or 'special' ringback tone. Import using BitPim.
Shared at 4shared.com. Exporting either single or bulk vCard entries from WhoCalled.US would be a nice feature addition

Call calls go to same country in India or something
No Message. They keep calling. I do not answer not provided Tel #'s for any reason.
What sense does it make to make a phone call and then say nothing when the person on the other end answers ? Seriously, what could they gain from something that stupid ?
Capitol One requesting payment from someone that does not live here!!
American Homeless is a real Non-Profit charity that does good work in Southern California, but they do not tele-market at all.
Press the #1, and then blast 'em with the boat horn ($7 or less at any sporting goods store) when they answer
Left no message. I called back and was prompted to enter my account number and SS number. I don't have an account. Who in their right mind calls at 9:20am on a Sunday morning?
they called at 8:30 last night, and NOBODY here uses capital one! so annoying!

Apparently, this is Mark Lee Bausch, "Grant Resources Of America", also at (702) 327-7085 [a T-Mobile cellphone]
according to the domain registration for grant-resources.com
Interesting -- an Anaheim, California address, with a Nevada phone number. How far would you trust this place? For ANYTHING? On an unrequested incoming (probably recorded) call?
Who is this guy brett? Sounds like he has a lot of anger in him. Best cool down before writing things.
I smell scam. Reporting to FCC.
"...for businesses, women and minorities..."
To all. I filed an official complaint at www.fcc.gov The FCC provides this website specifically for many of the same kinds of problems I see described here. This site lets you provide specific information for filing a formal complaint. They also allow you to digitally "sign" an "Attestation" page which gives them legal right to pursue the boogers.
I got a response letter from them about four days later confirming the information I provided.
This process at least lets your voice be heard. I whole hearted recommend everyone here, and those finding this site in the future, handle their problems in this manner.
these idiots call around dinner time every day often 3-5 times- never leave a message. We have no card through them. At my limit on numbers to block. Fed action like that with National Warranty is needed. Ill take their nice yaught when I sue them for invasion of privacy.
I'm broke and have no job because you pigs keep outsourcing all the jobs to *&%$#$%^ Inida. Capitol One is not broke, but they very well should be. So take my portion of your hog faced bailouts and consider yourselves PAID IN FULL PIGS.
Okay, this may piss off some of you, but then, I don't really care. As with so many in this country, I lost my job a year and a half ago. I've applied for over 400 jobs in this time. To date, nothing. Not even a phone call or interview. Nothing. So, I fell behind on my credit card payments for the last 3 months, across the board. (Or is that across the border, since all of my illegal alien neighbors have jobs)? Anyway, Capitol One has been driving me crazy. Look, you pin heads, if I had a job and the money to pay your asses, I would. And I kept this pay-game up for over a year with no job. Now, I'm broke, and VERY pissed off. So who calls and leaves messages from these banks? Hindu Harry from India. It's enough to make you wanna go in the street and scream at the top of your lungs. (I asked these banks for a customer service job a year ago, but then again, I'm not bi-lingual and don't speak Hindi). So the way I look at it, I've paid taxes, (just like all of you), over the years. That bail-out the bastards got? Consider your piggy asses paid in full. I'm done with the banks. They can all kiss my big, fat, old ass.
We came across another phone number on these tax payer bailed out thugs and crooks after they started terrorizing our family and refused to stop, even after showing we DO NOT HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH THEM! This number was listed on another web site dealing with Domestic War against America Citizens.
Capitol One Legal Department
888-567-2271 Extension 4538741
This takes you directly to one of their little Legal Pukes where you can return the harassment they are perpetrating toward your family. We started calling this little puke right after each harassing call was made to us. It said to stop calling because we were harassing it. The nerve of these bastards. We said fine! Sue us and take us to court because we would love to discuss what is going on in open court. It hung up on us. After this continued for 5 days, the 8 month long Capitol One attack on this American Family stopped, or has for now.
Don’t count on the law or politicians to stop the war on your family by the filth at Capitol One because they are all in bed together (remember the $Billions$ of your money the Gov freely gave them!). They are all in bed together, laughing at you and me each night when they all get together for fine wine and steaks on your bill or Business Jet trips to Las Vegas for Gambling and Wholes also on your bill. You have to take their War back to them and take matters into your own hands. Turn the war waged on your family by Capitol One back on them and call the above Capitol One puke each time they call you.
These people called this time less than a minute apart. on my CELL no less. and I am current with both of my accounts through Citi Bank (Sears and Home Depot)
They call about twice a day. I will contact Discover next time they call. Thanks for the info.
Oh yea, I forgot to mention.... I also registed Richard Fairbank's Virginia number with all the off shore internet gambling sites I could find. My husband later found a site on the internet where you can enter your address and phone number to be part of internet marketing and survey contacts. We figured that Richard Fairbank would love getting all these mailings and calls.
Anyone know how to sign him up for phone sex calls?
I programmed my phone to simply forward calls from these pukes to that bastard CEO Richard Fairbank's Virginia number. I then got the idea to forward all toll free numbers and out of area numbers to that puke's number. It's beem real nice and quiet around here since. I hope that puke is liking his phone calls coming back around to him. We have no idea how this bastard fuck decided he could harrass us into payng the bill of someone we don't even know! I'm thinking of doing what I read another person on here said, getting a Capital One card and running it up and NOT PAYING IT for their sins against this family.
NCO this is not Debra Manninings #, media com gave usthis supposedly private #. It is no longer Debras'. We have had nothing but banks and Credit Card Co. call out of litterally a hundred calls only 2or 3 are actually for us. NCO think about the innocent victims you and yours are making. Every time the phone rings at dinner time and it's a caller or debt collector for DEBBIE!!
Citi Group shows up in the caller ID, they never leave a message
Wanted to talk to my husband who just happened to be home for surgery...I handed him the phone and they asked for his birthdate and social security number. I heard him giving it out his birthdate and why they needed his ss number, he thought it might have been his insurance company. I went and got the phone and asked her who it was and she told me not to be asking her questions and not to talk to her that way. I told her not to call my house again. We do NOT owe anyone for a collection agency to be calling us.
Caller ID showed it to be yet another phone number I don't need to answer. Just another person/place I don't need to listen to.
Hey Al leave the politics for conservative wingnut call in shows. Getting spoof calls is a bipartisan problem. By the way, you republicans cannot STAND it that you lost and that you are likely the permanent minority now. I think it is well-deserved and just the way God intended. I called the 877 # listed on their website talked to Nicole, gave her the FCC complaint # I received and told her that this is my 7th attempt to get off of this list. The address given is : 3087 Warm Springs Rd Building 7 Suite 100 Las Vegas, NV 89120
Thanks Fran. We are also victims of this company. We live just outside McLean so I will make it a point to at least find out what the resident address of Richard Fairbank is and post that on the internet. Usually if you get the name and address, you can get the phone number without too much trouble and get that posted on here. Its time to start calling this creep at his home for his sins.
Here's another address where this scumbag might be found hanging around. We can keep an eye on both and if we see him, follow him home and get his home address to post on the internet.

We were plagued by these Bastards calling here. We did not have a Capitol One account and never did and after this will never have one in the future. The fact that we were not the person they were after did not seem to matter to these ignorant fools because they just continued to call over and over. No wonder they are failing as a business, they are soooo STUPID!
Anyway, we were able to find out who the CEO of this sham company was.
Chairman, President, and CEO Richard D. Fairbank
1680 Capital One Drive
McLean, VA USA 22102
So, I called this fool. Never got around his secretary but I told her that as long as Capital One was waging war on this family, we would return the favor and call his office all day long until he stops his reign of war on this family. She transferred me to a “Senior Level Corporate Service Manager”. I told her that if the harassment did not stop I would just call ole Richard D. Fairbank at home next time (I really didn’t have that number but she didn’t know). After giving her the number that Richard D. Fairbank’s corrupt corporation had been harassing, she said to give her 10 minutes and she would call me back and told me what number she would be calling from so my caller ID would identify it as her.
5 minutes later, she called back and said she had confirmed that my number did not match the owner name of the person that they were looking for and that she had had my number removed from their calling system immediately and I would not have any further calls.
Okay, what do we see here?
1. You can’t deal with these brainless imbeciles at the numbers that are calling you; you have to go to the CEO’s office.
2. This lady was able to confirm the owner of my phone number in 5 minutes, So why do they have such a problem continuing to call the wrong number?
3. When they tell you it takes 24 to 48 hours to have your number removed… they are lying through their corrupt teeth. This lady had it removed immediately.
4. The people running interference for the Corporate Thug known as Richard D. Fairbank will do anything to keep this from reaching him.
So, give this Bastard’s Office a call if you want the harassment to stop and tell this that his phone number is posted on the internet because if this and you will call him at home if you get another call.
Recorded message was already playing when our answering machine picked up. Heard no name, just a chopped message about some good offer and acting quickly. Press 1 to proceed. NO option to take my number off their list.
These are the domestic Terrorist known as Capital One, A known and reported corrupt banking cell. Their last claim to evil was taking your hard earned money in taxes as a bail out for their corruption and buying TWO Gulf Stream Biz Jets with it to cart their pedophile big wigs around while they laugh at taking the people of America for a ride.
They are also known for terrorizing innocent American citizens over the phone trying to get them to pay bills for people they don't know or never heard of. It does not matter that these victims never had an account with these Terrorist or owe them a cent, they will keep calling because they are TERRORIST and that is what Terrorist do. If they were legit, then they would stop Terrorizing person A and stop trying to force them into paying person B's bills.
If I did have an account with these Terrorist, I would stop making payments just to SCREW them like they did this country. As a matter of fact, I think I will get a Capital One card, run it to the max and tell these Terrorist bastards to go screw themselves and not pay it.
"Thats Rignt we are seeking businesses in your area that are seeking free grant money"
Call # 3 for me
When I pick up, there's no sound on the other end. Then after about 1 minute, they hang up.
Some pre-recorded message about grant money at my place of work.
called 3x in one hour and alot yesterday too. I hope I am home for one of these calls, what do they want? they don't leave a message.
These people are relentless!! I have spoken to 5 or 6 people at Discover, representatives and supervisers at the telemarketing company all to no avail. Each person ASSURES me the calls will stop and of course they don't. Next call is to the state Attorney General's consumer affairs office and the local TV station consumer affairs investigator. Good luck to all others who are victims of these idiots!!!!
These guys called my mother just today, and got her REALLY angry. A man answered and was not able to pronounce our surname correctly. For the love of god, he couldn't even speak proper english! And these guys were trying to pass themselves off as Capital One Bank!
He said the due date of one of the family bill was on the 24th, and of course my mother knew this. He tried to get her to pay through the phone AT THAT MOMENT and give him her credit card number, and checking account number! He constantly insisted when my mother refused, and then he complained about her attitude!
The stupidity of scam callers will never cease to amaze me.
If these Pedophiles are legit then why do they continue to call a number where the person they are on a blood hunt for does not exist? We keep calling them back and asking them what their caller ID says and they confirm that the lst name they see is NOT the same as the last name they are on their blood hunt for but they keep calling. Maybe they are so stupid as to think I can shit this person out my ass for them. No, this all shows me that this is a scam or they wouldn't waste their time calling a KNOWN and CONFIRMED wrong number... Unless they are STUPID. However, after watching the news tonight, they confirmed that Capitol One and most others are STUPID along with immoral and corrupt. Just like their criminal buddies in Washington are that keeps feeding these filthy organized crime organizations tax payer money. I think I will get me a Capitol One card, run it up to the max and not pay it off. Then I will take that money and send it in as my part of their Bail Out money.
hit the #1 on your touchtone phone now! That is all that was on the prerecorded message.
Sorry but the Terrorist Robert WV is full of shit. I do not have one of his Terrorist Cell's Cards and never have. But I am being Terrorized by this Terrorist scum to give out my SS number over my cell phone. The Terrorist Organization known as Capitol One should be brought down like they did to us on 9-11
Called number back. Not in service. Must have been a "spoof". Wierd. I don't answer calls from people I don't know. Too many shoe salesmen out there.
Recorded message advertising available Grant Money. Second call, first call was Nov 2008
donotcall.gov does not work with these jokers
They should be shot, but tortured first.
This number is legit for Capital One. My boyfriend made some mistakes and was laid off and didn't realize/understand their ridiculous overlimit/overdue fees and how they keep adding on every month and it snowballed into 400 dollars over the limit. Since he was laid off I handle all of his finances and financial matters. About a month ago they were calling non-stop, sometimes up to 6 times a day up to 9 at night. I told them that by law they were not allowed to call that late but they did not care and kept calling. We made several calls trying to make a payment arrangement. When I accidentally went over my limit on another credit card years ago I called them up and they were able to raise my limit so I would not keep getting overlimit fees. Problem Solved. We asked Capital One to do this and they refused. I asked to talk to a supervisor and the supervisor would do nothing for us and they wanted over 150 dollars a month for 3 months to make the account current. We explained to them that I do not make that much money as I am going to school and working full time and he is laid off and we were more than willing to pay each month but could not afford the amount they requested. They still said there were no programs in place to help us and wanted their money right away. All they were willing to do was suspend the past due fees, not alter the amount due or the overlimit fees. Finally after much crying and yelling we were able to get someone willing to help us. She told us we could make a payment of 64 dollars a month and she would suspend the overlimit and past due fees for three months. When that three months was up we were to call back and make other arrangements.
So we made a payment of 64 dollars by the due date of 2/27. They stopped calling and I was relieved. But now we are getting calls again! It is only 2pm and they have already called 3 times! Apparently they are saying the girl we talked to never put a note on our account about the arrangement and they want their money! They said they cannot talk to me about the arrangement and need to talk to my boyfriend but he is out of the country and unable to call. They are more than willing to talk to me when I have my debit card in my hand though. This is getting to be out of control. We have been making the payments on time and yet they are still harassing us and refuse to accept 64 dollars a month. It gets better. One of the ladies I spoke to today told me that the reason we were not able to get help last month was because some jackA** put a note on my Bf's account saying we disconnected our phone number and they were not able to get a hold of us. UMMM, not true. I have had this number for a while and it has never been disconnected for any reason.
I don't know what else to do.
This is Capital One, not a scam. They are calling you because you owe them money. Pay your damn bills and quit crying like a buch of girls. You know damn good and well there is someone on the other line when you pick up, BECAUSE THEY WANT THE MONEY YOU OWE THEM![/quote]If they're calling legitimately, why then don't they have their number come up on the caller I.D. as "Capital One" with a phone number that directs back to them when called. Currently the 800-955-6600 doesn't reach anyone who answers, nor does it state you're calling Capital One. If I'm unavailable to answer the phone, and they're interested in getting in contact with me, why not leave a message?
Is it just a ploy to get around the FDCA, which limits collection calls to no more than one telephone call per day at a time convenient and appropriate to the RECEIVING party? By not stating who you are, why you're calling or leaving a call back number or message you can call repeatedly, virtually harassing the receiving party into picking up the phone and dealing with you?
I don't know if this is Capital One or not. If it is I'd be surprised being that I'm receiving calls from them, but haven't had an account with them since 2006. Lonn your comments are both rude and insulting and you seem to make a lot of assumptions when accusing people of wrong-doing when it is clearly this company making these telephone calls who is violating, in either the spirit of, or the letter of, the Fair Debt Collections Act.
I'm sorry but I still get a ** KICK ** out of using a canned ~ AIR-HORN ~ blast...I know they have those hands free headsets and they can't pull that away from the ears...lol...
If you don't want to go the route of keeping a call diary and getting the police involved, you might ask your phone service if they have call rejection or call blocking. For a nominal fee (either a one-time use or monthly), you dial in using your personal security code and then enter the nuisance phone number and that should stop the calls at least from reaching you. A list of nuisance phone numbers is kept in your phone's memory and can be edited to keep things current. It still might be a good idea to keep a hard copy list of the nuisance calls you receive because often these callers have an arsenal of numbers they can use and your Caller ID will still say either "Toll Free" or Capital One.
So don't get angry. Don't blow whistles into your telephone handset - that never really works anyway. Just get some kind of call rejection system set up through your phone service. If your service doesn't have one, maybe switching to a service that does might be better.
I've been receiving these calls at least 3 times a day for the last couple of weeks. I don't have any accounts with Capital One in any shape or form. When these calls started, I would pick up the phone, but not say a word. I wanted to hear if there was anything in the background that I could recognize and wait for them to become nervous about the silence and say something. When they did, the person calling would usually as for "David" and then hang up.
Today I stepped up my response to the annoying calls. When they call and you know you don't have any issues with Capital One, record the phone message even if you don't hear anything from their end. Tell the caller that the call is being recorded for the police. They don't know whether or not you are really recording the call. It's up to you to decide if you will actually record the call and whether you tape the actual call and/or make a call diary. This is evidence that can be used against them (even if they don't say anything) to charge them with harassment and take them and/or Capital One to court. All I said was,"This call is being recorded for the police." You don't say "Hi!" or "Hello!" Just start immediately with the mention of the call being recorded. They hung up in my ear very quickly.
So far the evening has been peaceful. The calls stopped around 3:30 this afternoon and no phone has been ringing this evening (almost midnight now).
They call me up to ten times a day, of course I'm at work all day, they leave no message, EVER on answering machine! I pick up phone when I'm home and no one says anything. They have begun to call on weekends up to ten times a day, including Sunday. I'm getting a little tired of them!
From all comments it would be best for everyone with a Capital One card or account join the ranks of HSBC, Well's Fargo, BOA & Citi customers, JUST STOP PAYING> Haven't they all scammed enough in bogus, fraudulent and deceptive practices. When will taxpayers realize the last 8 years were all lies? Look at the Madoff scam, the only money lost was what was actually invested, the profits or dividends were imaginary, therefore unclaimable. The cc companies live by the same fairy tale. The balance is never real, it's a vision. The only real tangible is the merchant purchase.
Have no idea who they are. They never leave a message. Probably another company on a fishing expedition. Ridiculous.
caller ID says 702-736-3066 name NOT AVAILABLE
returned call to that number: not in service
Google got this page
called the toll free line indicated
was told it takes a week to get a number removed
asked for supervisor
super is not in and has no direct extension. WHAT?
then she says "besides, our autodialer had been off for 2 months and someone else is spoofing caller ID"
I tell her that if this was true, removing my number from her list will do nothing and I could help track down the perpetrator. She transfers me to JASON
JASON is also conveniently not in, says Laurie.
I offer to help Laurie track down the alleged spoofer perhaps by giving jason's info to the robocaller the next time it calls. She tells me she will be sure my number is removed, then hangs up on me.
I call back and ask receptionist for Jason's fax number so I can send him "a proposal"
(Proposing to catch the alleged Caller ID spoofer is a proposal, isn't it?)
Jason doesn't have a direct fax number but the street address is
311 N Pecos Rd
Henderson NV 89074
By now I have certainly wasted more of their time than they have of mine.
Everyone should send them a postcard telling them that they won't make money annoying those of us who won't fall for their scam
called grant funding
I maintained a zero balance on my Cap. One card for ages. They persisted in jacking up my interest rate either because of, or in spite of this fact. Of course I did not wish to pay 30% interest, so I canceled the card for good. I thought this would stop the solicitation calls, but it did not. Now they persist in calling and hanging up. I am on the 'do not call' list, as I thought that was supposed to stop calls from businesses who you do not have a relationship with ... I guess they just ignore the rules and call anyway.
I told them to suck my balls, and hung up...
They keep calling and hanging up on me....SO ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will find out who is responsible for the phone calls from this number and they will regret ever bothering Me or My Cellphone!!!
Don't Worry Bout It.
Discover Card services fishing for offering svcs or products that are probably not needed. Must be getting desperate.
It is a robo call. They keep calling and there is no way to stop them. I called the phone company and they said they could not help.
Capital One Financial Corporation spent $1,132,000 in lobbyist fees on Capital Hill during 2008, and received $3,555,199,000 in TARP (banking bailout 'tax-funded' TARP funds) which was a 193944% return on 'investment'. Capital One will be on the receiving end of billions more in Obama's Bailout #2 for early 2009. Yet Capital One continues non-stop phone harassment attempting to con millions of potential customers into paying their massive credit card rates .
Or better yet, Lonn & Robert are scammers. Hey guys, GET A LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bet Lonn works for CapitalOne. Well, my bill is paid up to date and I keep getting hang-up calls on my business phone. I also get a ton of email & snail mail advertising from CapitalOne for car loans, retirement plans, additional card accounts, etc. THIS IS ANNOYING. It also keeps me from working! Leave me alone!!!!!!!!!!
For most of you it seems like your complaints are legit. For the most part anyone asking for your SOCIAL SECURITY # and or CREDIT CARD # over the phone is doing nothing more than fishing (SCAMMING) in hopes you will share that information I mean they obviously get you to verify your NAME//SOCIAL SECURITY # & CARD # so they can add money to there own pockets and or buy things off the internet (Imagine that?) Please beware of this kind of crap! Scammers are always looking for a way to steal your identity to make there lives a bit more pleasurable. To think we live in a non-criminal world is just preposterous.
Anyone else that has those dreaded hang up calls//or someone trying to sell you crap...Those are Telemarketers! You have to check with the laws in your state or do what I do......Go to the store and purchase an AIR-HORN CANISTER and give them an ear-full of obnoxious loud noise...Kinda like they do you! Enjoy and have a **KICK ASS DAY**
Oh yea and another thing...I would not give out my Social Security # and or Credit card # to anyone over the phone...You send me legitimate documentation of your companies name in the mail requesting said information and let me verify that you are who you say you are and I **might** give you that information your requesting but I'll be damn if I give you anything over the phone...NOT EVEN MY NAME! LMFAO! I am sure Lonn will not be back again because **It** reminds me of a hit n run driver...
It's to bad your not one of the brighter bulbs in the light socket huh? We pay our bill every month and for some unknown reason we lost track on a months payment and US-Bank calls us like 5x's a day over a $40 payment! I'd say that is kind of about as lame as your dumb comment on here. Then again every comment blog has to have a morron that speaks out of turn. It's okay! we understand! Remember though, "Wise people talk because they have something to say; Fools because they have to say something!"
We get this number on our caller ID numerous times during the day and evening- week-ends too. Sometimes, they start early in the morning and go late into the night. We've repeatedly told a foreign agent, (his or her English is barely understandable,) to take us off their calling list- the calls continue. We're sick of it! I've got a solicitor block on our number, but this one still manages to get through. What can we do?
They have been calling 2-3 times a day asking for my social security # or 16 digit credit card # I agve them neither and told them I was on the do not call list and when he said he could not remove my phone # from the list without either # I asked for his supervisor-he said the supervisor would say the same thing and hung up on me. I have reported it to the ftc and Citibank as well as the attorney general. I called back and spkoke with another man and he assured me he would take my # off their calling list within 72 hours-that was 2 weeks ago.
The calls are daily and incessant about some grant... ye gods, I am retired! A grant for what, my grave? You cannot call back because it's an ENDLESS recorded message. I looked up on Google and called their 877 number, JEN was vague and laughing and said she wasn't sure which number called my area and had no other info but to say it would take a week to get me off their call list. I told her to be prepared for 3 daily calls from me if I got anymore calls from them after 2/18/09. It's ridiculous that thses harrassing companies can't be found more easily and criminally dealt with. Is anyONE really stupid enough to believe this is a LEGIT company!?
annoying recording, "hello, if you need funding..." I hate these robo dialer calls!
Toll Free - Hang up 15 sec. after I answered
calls 2x/day to cell phone no one on other end
They will just have to wait for my "bail out" cash.
This company is called Grant Resources Of America LLC or GROA LLC, also known as Small Business Funding Company, The Corporation People Inc, and The Grant Center located in Las Vegas, NV. IT IS ALL A BIG SCAM!
Plus this Recorded messages not in compliance with FCC rules.
Report them here: www.fcc.gov
Why are they not being prosecuted by FCC, if they are violating a law?
Called at 8am Saturday
I have 2 seperate phones, they both ring at the same time and it is the same number. I am on the do not call list but apparently it isn't helping. I am business and I don't have time for this, very annoying.
This is Capital One, not a scam. They are calling you because you owe them money. Pay your damn bills and quit crying like a buch of girls. You know damn good and well there is someone on the other line when you pick up, BECAUSE THEY WANT THE MONEY YOU OWE THEM!
it is discover card calling
I received 4 calls from them today- one I actually answered
I decided then to investigate this number online and found this blog- if you're receiving calls from this number, READ THIS BLOG www.pcmech.com it's about a girl who also received these same calls, her experience and how the HELL to try and get them to stop calling you :-) good luck guys
They called three times today, let the answering machine pick up, never left a message.
The last time they called I answered ready to yell, I spoke to a woman named "lori" from discover asking for my mother, told her she wasn't home and said she'd call back later to try and reach her?
Sounds like a major scam.
No one answers
Two calls so far this afternoon. When I answer, no one is there.
"Yesterday upon the stair, I met a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today, Oh how I wish he'd go away." — "Antigonish" by William Hughes Mearns, 1899.
I keep seeing that people are saying it's bill collecters and I don't think it is, I mean I am getting this number calling me, and it's pretty annoying. I don't even have a credit card, let along with them, so why would they be calling me to collect? I call back and they ask for a 16 digit card number, and if you don't have that they ask for your SS# and I'm not giving them mine, considering I don't have a credit card through them. To me this looks pretty fradulent, and it is also pretty annoying to have this number call and not even leave a message? Most places are going to leave a message on the answering machine.
Called 3-4 times day for the past two days. No one, not even a recording when the phone in answered.
Phone company getting multiple requests to block this number. Contacted Discover directly, and it is a sales and marketing call with no regard to DNC lists, which is a violation. Customer has to call 800-DISCOVER to be removed. Oddly enough, card members are not solicited for this sales/marketing call. Enough reports on fines through Do Not Call should get their attention.
we get calls 5-10 times daily, NH. It shows up as signet bank va on caller id, but it is capitol 1
multiple calls, MANY blank 5-8 second voicemails with voices & noise heard in the background. when I finally answered the phone one time when I was home the person on the other end started their spiel about something fully telemarketer style....so then I queried the caller on why they were calling someone listed on the do not call registry, within 2 seconds they hung up on me. this is not the "discover card" as this site is saying it most likely is 1-800-295-7193 is definitely a telemarketing company (RDI research on my caller ID) as of 1-7-2009. file a complaint with the DNC registry, I just did.
You have been contacted for marketing research (on behalf of Discover card.)
Calls at least 5 times a day for the the past 3 weeks or so.
got one today at work
This number is a city government number, and all day, every day including weekends there are calls from the number above to this government number at City Hall.
Here we go again... Rec’d junk marketing ph call from 702-736-3099, did not answer. - [7:26 pm]. No msg left. Reverse Lookup provided a series of complaints. Call traces back to Las Vegas.
These dopes call at all hours of the night without any regard.
They never leave a message, but call incessantly. We never answer. We let it dump into voice jail—but surprise, surprise, they never leave a message. Clearly their intentions are sinister and devious.
That’s ok, for many of these dirtbags, we have their caller ID’s programmed to dump right into voice jail – much like spam filters for emails.
By the way for all of you Obama-supporters, and those of you who have no life, and believe in holding all night vigils, because you have NO life, how come you dredges of society, aren’t performing a truly worthwhile, and PRODUCTIVE service, like boycotting places and people like this?
Any dope can jump on the “greenie” bandwagon. Any retarded person can believe in global warming. How about those of you same, stupid people combating annoying calls of this sort?
I know, I know… that means work, which of course is the antithesis and contrary to your entitlement mentality!
3 to 4 calls daily
how do I make them stop ?
This caller apparently WAS from Capital One, but the gentleman actually asked me for my 16-digit credit card number. Um, you're calling ME, you should already have that. I am NOT giving my credit card number to someone who has called themself 'Capital One' OR billing information to pay it by phone. Seriously - this was how the call went. Asked me for the last four digits of my credit card. I said I have two CapOne accounts, so I don't know which one he's calling about. I gave him the the last four of the card I use most frequently, and said that was the account he was calling about, and ASKED ME FOR THE ENTIRE 16-DIGIT NUMBER of the card. Companies constantly warn about NEVER giving your card number to a caller, and their idiots are actually asking for that. I have written to complain, and intend to call as well.
Please don't assume someone is an idiot because they are alarmed by such a call. I issue credit cards from my place of employment and we had a scam involving that very issue just last week.
These people call multiple times a day and only responded once and hung up.
These are sleazy bastards who run a business out of Vegas. I tried returning the call and it was came up "the 3 you have reached is not in service...". This is a SPOOFED #. Here's what we need to do. Since we have determined that it's from Small Business Funding,GROA Inc. Why not phone THEM between 9 and 5 Vegas time @(877) 472-6814 is their # and it costs them every time you call it. Make sure you hit *67 first (which blocks YOUR caller ID) and call them. When they ask for an extension hit 256 which is Rick Anderson's #, ext. 255 is Andrew Burney's #, ext. 254 is Bob Brooks (who says "God Bless" on his voxmail greeting), ext. 253 is Barry, ext.257 is Tim Patrick...he sounds as if he may run the place. Call these guys on a daily basis multiple times and see how THEY like it. Disrupt THEIR f'n business for a change!!! THESE BASTARDS PISS ME OFF!!!
This is NOT Capitol One, many of the posts here and for other numbers are actuallly those involved in the schemes to begin with. The problem here has been getting worse and worse.
To: UTCRobert WV that said - "Anyone who receives a call from this number knows why they are calling you. You have a Capital One card and have past due balance. Dont waste our time writing these excuses. Pay your bill or call an attorney."
I do not have a Capital One Card and I never have had a Capital One Card. I have excellent credit and these people call countless times.
once already this morning (12/13 @ 8:55am)
3 times 12/12
2 times 12/11
2 times 12/10
3 times 12/9
So now what?? I called them. They said someone used my telephone as a contact number and they can't give me more info due to privacy laws.
Calls 4-5 or more times everyday of the week. I sent a certified, signature required letter explaining my financial difficulty, a token payment to show good faith and a request for no more phone calls. I informed subsequent callers from Capital One/ Signet bank the situation and request for discontinuing calling. One of their representatives acknowledged a cease calling note on the file. This has gone on despite numerous requests when they called. I am struggling to deal with my debts including saving my family home. During this stressful time I have begun to suffer from high blood pressure.
A recorded message from Linda at Capital One offering opportunities.
I'm another one of those that does *not*, and has *never* had a Capitol One card. They are calling me on my mobile, which I have had for over three years! I would love to know the reason for this. I have no debt, and no credit cards - for exactly this reason!
don't know who they are, don't care, i just want them to leave me the hell alone and quit calling. i'm sick of answering the phone and it's nobody but scammers, degenerates and people you don't have a crap about.
Hmmm... I'm a Capital One cardholder... wonder why they don't want to leave a message? Must not be in relation to my account! They've called daily for 3 days now.
these asswipes call me non stop at least 9 times a day every day even holidays. hey jerks, when i get some money, you'll get some money, so in the mean time F off !!!
Hey Robert DW - I received a call from this number this morning. I have a capital one card and I DON'T have a past due balance. You are both misinformed and rude. It is obvious from your unpleasant demeanor that you work for a collections agency or some similar occupation that delights in hiring sadistic people.
No one asked for your opinion. In the future, kindly abstain from giving it.
Yep that must be capital one, I only see the number on my caller ID, but I do have a Capital one card thats very very late. Woops.
They said that it was a 'courtesy call' from Discover Card. They asked for my wife and refused to talk with me.
I realize that the federal and state do-not-call lists do not apply when you have a business relationship with someone (and we have a discover card); but, you'd think that they would get a clue and tell their telemarketing departments to honor the lists -- as these are people who have taken the step of saying ``I do not want telemarketing calls.'' They are likely to be poor prospects. You're likely to just p*ss them off.
Call back gets recorded message: "You have been contacted for marketing research or a sales call."
This is Capital One Credit Card. They are relentless if you are in arrears.
They call several times a week and never leave a message.
I asked them why they only call during the day when I have repeatedly told them the people they try to reach (my parents) work during the day. I asked if they could stop calling or if they have a Do Not Call List since they wake up my daughter with their repeat daily calls. The guy laughed at me and hung up.
capital one again and again and again and again......
Called here and asked for my father...asked who is calling, telemarketer scumbag replied "Michelle", asked what company and she said "I can't tell you only Robert" and hung up. Funny thing is Michelle, he is here and I would have given him the phone...I guess you don't want to talk to people huh? Are you a lazy bitch Michelle? Is that why you are jockeying a phone instead of getting a real job?
Got 4 or 5 calls from them today with no messages.
called every hour during the day for the last two weeks. No name.. no message... Capital One is expected.
I get 4-5 calls a day, they wont take me off the do not call list
This is collections for Capitol One. I got a new cell phone for my daughter 4 days ago. Less than an hour after we got the phone, this number called and didn't say anything. No call the next day. Call on the third day and again today....the 4th day of having this number...they asked for Omar. They were rude and hung up on my when I told them this number was issued to me only 4 days ago and please stop calling it. They hung up on me. I called the number back, and Capitol One answered. They took the number and put it in the system as "wrong number", but I'm not holding my breathe that the calls will stop. Omar, whoever you are....PAY YOUR BILL!
Got a call from this number and they said that they were calling from Home Depot also named Citi Group (which is what shows up on the caller ID) and one other store. I don't have an account with the places named and told them so. The odd thing was that they knew who I was and clearly were able to easily access my information while I was talking with them. They also verified the last 5 digits of my social security (which was dumb of me). Now I am worried that this was an identity theft scam that I gave out too much info to. I looked up the phone number and found out that its a land line out of Kingspoint TN through United Inter-Mountain Telephone Company.
I am going to call Experian and make sure that my credit is in tact, but wanted to post a warning here that I think that this may be an identify theft scam.
I get called atleast 10 times from this number
These grant clowns called again with no way to get off the list. This is a federal offense!!!
Recorded message advertising available Grant Money
Not feeling encouraged by what I see here. Hope it's just election stuff and that I'll never hear from them again.
They call about 3 or more times aday. Just now they called 3 times within the past hour. When I called it back, it says I have been contatced for marketing research or a sales call. I am on the governments do not call list.
They call several times. If I answer they hang up.
Number calls, long distance. Pick up phone - regardless of me answering or not.. within ten second the phone hangs up. 2 times now within 2 hours.
Four calls in one day and it's not even noon yet.
Automated recording - "Hello, do you want to get free money - small business grants in your area ... "
I have been getting calls from this number for 2 weeks multiple times a day, I know its Capital One, but I am NOT behind on my payments. In fact I just recently made a payment and they are still calling. Its the same womans voice that says please call 18009556600. When I do call back it asks me to enter my account number. Im just going to keep ignoring the phone calls and report them.
This is really getting irritating – I won’t to strangle them !!!!!
"Michael called asking for a particular member in the household, wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise to further inquire about said call. He'd call back was a quick response and the call was ended.
I have been receiving these calls for 2 weeks now. I have 2 capital one cards and both are in good standing, never late. Having the same issues though..no message and no answer and they call 3-4 times a day starting at 8:00a till 5:00p
It's Discover trying to run a test credit through your new business credit card system. They are relentless, I'm fed up with them so much that I'm going to cancel my merchant accounts and just not use credit cards if this is how it is. They call AT LEAST 6 times a day. I am not going to run my credit card machine over the phone to anyone as a test, I don't care who they say they are!
Calls are received 3-5 times per day everyday... lasting over two weeks!
Two calls 21 minutes apart - no one there either time
They call all the time! I called the number back because I never answer it and they never leave a message. It says that " you have been contacted for marketing research or sales call. A lot of good
it's done me for putting my number on the due not call list.
I live in Florida.
Two or more calls a day; rings; I answer and no one there. Extremely annoying. I called the number back and it said, "you have been contacted for marketing research or a sales call
This was a polling call from JM Research on the presidential campaign. I'm assuming it was an "internal" poll by the McCain campaign as there is no "JM Research" in existance that I've been able to find. I live in Florida
I get calls from this number literally back to back. It's like being stalked. If I answer, they hang up and if I don't they call back like two minutes later and they have never left a message. Super annoying.
I have receied 10 calls from this number in 2 days
Calling my cell over 50 times in the last 24 hours!
Phone rings when answered therre is nothing
10 times today every hour on th 1/2 hour I do not answer but annoying while @ work
same story as everyone else. NOT behind in bills. call from 8 am to 5 pm, every two hours. do not answer.
Hey I found information on this number that has been calling me every single day. It is a company from Nevada called Grant Resources Of America LLC or GROA LLC It is all a big scam but its a real company doing I dont know what Check out www.grant-resources.com, that is the website for the company I called and finally got someone If you call and ask for Ron, he will help get your number removed or just piss the company off or him by everyone asking for him Give it a try I don't know if it worked, I just got off the phone with him.
Robert I've never had a Capital One CC and don't appreciate the non-stop calling and then leaving no message, for anyone, when I ANSWER THE CALL- The bitch just hangs up and calls back in 10-30 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111
Refuses to leave any type of message and calls 16-20/day. Basically From 8:30am-9pm Mon-Sun
DiscoverCard outsource offering free 30 day credit report adn them $9.99 per rmonth after that
They called today. If they call you, call them back. It is capital one. If you have a credit card you are being contacted because a payment has not been posted. call them before it gets too bad for you to deal with..
jerks trying to sell grants
It does not matter if your on the do not call list! Surveys, charities, and political, and people not selling you anything can call all they want get your facts straight or shut up!

When you get dead air is when the auto dialer is connecting to you and if you wait for a response someone will answer its not some conspiracy to find out when your home, its computer lag! If you don't know what your talking about you should not talk! The more times you open your mouth the more opportunities you have of putting your foot in it!

Western Wats is the largest survey company in the united states and all the surveys are confidential to both parties! Big companies, political groups and market research firms hire them to get important public views! Most of the employees are college students trying to make ends meet so if you care at all about other peoples lives and not just your own you will take the time to answer the 5-15 min. survey and help them and their family make a living, not waste their time and cost them pay raises! Being a human being is not too hard!
Calls early in the morning and late in the evening, every day including Sunday.
automated telemarketing scum
They hung up when answering machine started. I suspect this is just a "mechanical" caller, dialing at random and making note of numbers that are actually pick up, so that they can build lists for telemarketers.
they call al ours of the day you would think after they don't get anybody answering the phone they would just f@#ing stop calling. especially when they call on a sunday night around 10:00pm
We do not have a Capital One account. The caller, Signet Bank - VA calls 2-3 times a day 6 days a week for going on 4 weeks now. Caller sounds like he's from India and will not listen to reason. I've tried insisting they stop calling. Calls are for my 17 yr old son - unsolicited. Driving us crazy! Contacting better business bureau to file a complaint. Do Not Call list no good!
I have been called 7 times today. My wife has answered the first 2 and told them I was not home, that I wont be home until after 7. 8:30am 11:21am 1:16pm 2:54pm 3:22pm 7:38pm 8:24pm are the times called today. My wife is 32 weeks pregnant and has told Signet this and to stop harrasing her. She cant jump up and down everytime the phone rings. I dont get home till 7:30 and even then I have two other kids to bath and get ready for bed. The thing that pisses me off the most...these mother fuckers don't speak ENGLISH...they can't even get my mother fuckin' name right!!! Since I'm on the subject, when you call a number and they say "For instructions in spanish press 1" Oh hell no, for instructions in ENGLISH press one, all other languages can go the hell home!
Chase home finance trying to sell their home equity line.
Call 1-800-945-9470 to get on their do not call registry.
Several calls this morning with hangups about 5 seconds into my machine recording. After reading the messages here I should say that I did indeed get a Discover Card within the last year and will call them to complain.
Got at least 6 calls from this number just today!! I don't pick up the call. Do you think they will ever get the message?
We also have received the call, this sounds like a scan Please call the Las Vegas police and report this number, they are operating out of an appartment address 1478 Reno Ave Vegas Nevada 89119. Report it to the Las Vegas Police at 702-795-3111 also report it to the Attorney General @ 702-486-3777, FCC-@ 888-225-5322. Please do not give your information or credit card number.
don't let them hear your voice. make farting noises or something. flush the toilet.
register at www.donotcall.gov it's really simple and only takes 30 seconds.
This number calls and I can't get through to anyone alive, and when I try to call back the number is not in service. I hate them!!!
Capital one has become a real nuisance.
If it's really Capital One Bank then they are false advertising by it coming up on my Caller ID as Signet Bank-VA.
I do believe it's Capital One calling because we missed a payment last month. I might actually answer the phone if the caller ID would tell me who it is and not just "Tollfree Number".
Kari: LOL, you got Robert WVA (or whatever) right on. Smart thinker.
It is capital one. I owe them money and they call me all the time. the number is located on the capitalone website. They leave messages but it is always a recording never a live person/
I am starting to hate these people, no matter how often I push the button asking them not to call again they keep at it.
When I see any 800 # I just click the receiver button on and off...one ring...buh bye @ssholes!
I received 12 calls in 5 hours from this number.
This is 8-23 and so far they have called 14 times!!!! No one answers, no talking of any kind. have called the number back and asked for the manager, they don't know!!!! I do not have a C1 card and will never get one cause of the harassing phone calls. they start at 8am CST and continnue up past 8pm. told them i do NOT want a card and to quit calling. still the calls come.
F*ck Cap one ...they are vultures...max out your card; take their money, and ignore them..they'll just go away...write 'em and tell 'em to stop calling you. By LAW they must stop.
Based on others' comments, I believe this must be a telemarketing company hired by Discover Card. I am going to tell Discover to stop calling me for promotions. I was on vacation for 8 days and they called 20-something times while I was gone. I believe that is harrassment, but presently it is not illegal. So if you have a Discover card, don't report this phone# to the FCC--time they spend investigating this is time they don't spend investigating something that is actually illegal. Call Discover Card and tell them to stop the madness!
We get calls from this number all day everyday at work. Very time consuming and annoying.
represents themselves as capitol one
I got a call from this number. I do have a Capital One Card, but it is current. (I just verified that online to make sure I didn't miss a payment by mistake.) I called the customer service # on the back of my card to see why they are calling me and the rep said that my account is current and there is no record of a call made to me, so even if you do have a past due balance w/ Cap 1, I would be wary of giving your info out to a recording without being able to speak to a live person. Pay online or call the regular 800 # on the back of your card to be extra safe!
Called today-did not answer-no message...will block
Somethings going on here but I'm not sure what. I have a Cap1 credit card but I am not behind. I called Cap1 and they confirmed that this is a number they use for solicitation. They suggested that I just ignore the calls. Hey, how about not calling in the first place was my suggestion. They are continuing to call multiple times a day. To the folks at capital one: stop this right away, you are going to lose cardholders like me if you keep it up! Actually, it's too late I am cancelling my card immediately!
Called today Caller ID said "Not Provied"
Now that I think about it, my father did JUST activate his Discover card, from his cellphone. He mentioned that he was asked to input his home telephone number; so maybe that's where they got it. I'll have to tell him when he gets home, then.
Third party collection agent for Capitalone supposedly. Noone is ever there, and they called at 0747 in a Sunday morning. Biggest problem is, I am looking at my capitalone bill, and it IS NOT behind? Everytime I answer, I get put on hold, and after 5 minutes or so it starts asking me to continue to hold. I hang up at this point. I called the number on my statement, and they claimed to have no idea who SIGNET BANK VA was. Sounds VERY fishy.
after divorce and bankruptcy they stilllll keep calling....7 times within 6 hours is a bit much...do they not know bankruptcy laws? Bad things happen to good people.
These recorded free grant money calls come to our business every day. Is there some way to stop them?
No names showed up on caller ID, but after several repeat calls I answered. The guy said he was from Discover Card...but I think to sell something rather than from the card service itself.
They keep calling daily, and leave no messages. It is getting very annoying. I don't answer phone calls from callers with unavailable or not provided on the caller ID. If they were reputable, they would have more identifiable information on the caller ID.
Capital One - If you continue calling I will sue in small claims court under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
They don't leave a message, so I have blocked them.
I didn't answer but they have been calling me all day. They must have called me one time at least 4 or 5 times in one hour alone!
This number calls my house stating at 8:55 am and calls thru 9pm at least 6 times a day, every day. I let the answering machine get it and they leave no message.
has been calling me at least once a day, even sunday! Called back and only an operator asking for an account# (which i don't have!) and social security number (which banks NEVER ask, so clearly this is a scam!), plus no option to speak to customer service to ask them to stop calling me! This is the second bout of calls, first one was a couple months ago for a couple weeks, the stopped til the beginning of this month.
CAN WE GET A GROUP EFFORT TO REPORT IT TO THE FCC AND FTC??
I receive many calls daily from this number. They do not talk or leave a message.
Capital One -debt collection --calls 61 times in seven days (never answer)

These people keep calling on my trailer house phone and I dont node what thay want. Thay should node by now that I aint gonna pay this bill, never.
This is Discover Card, My advice- cancel your card or do not apply for this card- they hand out your number to idiots.
i called the place to be removed and guess what they didnt remove me from the list they still call about 17 times back to back and i work with a switch board so it makes it hard to get the important calls when they are the only ones getting through
These people call me all the time. I get woken up in the morning by them, and they continue to call at regular intervals throughout the day, sometimes one call right after another.
I received 3 calls today and 3 yesterday from this number, is there any way we can block this number?
Legit or not, some foregin idiot asks me for personal info he can stick it...good luck investigating fraud committed by some Paki overseas.
this number keeps calling my house up to 10 times a day and even on weekends as early as 7:00 am on a sat and sunday. I usually dont answer when I dont reconize the number but on the 2 or 3 times i Have thinking I would tell them to stop calling it would be a recording telling me to wait for an operator. I am not waiting to talk to someone who called me and they shouldnt be calling and not leaving messages if it is important. I am beginning to think it is probably a scam. It has been going on for weeks now and I am very sick and tired of it. What do we do can we do anything about it.
called and asked for a person unknown to me. My husband just opened an account and are not past due. I think sometimes they just have the wrong number. Funny thing is that I just set up my account for online bill pay and someone calls today for umberto(not my husbands name). I would never give my account over the phone, if they're calling you they should already have it. Plain and simple, if you don't have a C1 card and are not past due if you do have one, and are on the do not call list report them to the do not call registry.
It is capital one, I am not overdue on credit card bill. They called to verify my address and ask if my card was lost or stolen because of irregular card activity.
Every other hour for the past three days!!! Annoying!
If its Capitol One, I'm a little worried, I checked my C1 bills and they're current. maybe they're trying to sell insurance or something?
They have called here at least 10 times in the last 5 days. Left maybe 2 messages that just give the number without any reference or who they are even wanting to talk to.
Numerous calls, last one at 8:10 AM on a Sunday morning. If only there was a button on my phone I could push that would detonate a low-yield nuclear device on the other end. I have CapOne but I'm not behind.
Called me 4 times before I awoke at 7:40 AM on Friday. Called again several times before I awoke on Saturday morning. Left message, saying it was Karen from Capital One with some important personal business information about my account. I returned the call and had to listen to someone who could barely speak English. He kept asking me for personal information after I had already given some of it to him. He just kept wanting more, so I started telling him, "You called me. I'm not giving you any more information until you tell me what was so important that you have been constantly calling me this weekend." He just kept asking for more information and would not tell me why they have been callling me. After informing him several times I was giving him no more information and would hang up if he didn't tell me why he called, I finally kept my promise, told him good-bye, and hung up.
Called me 4 times yesterday. Once received voice mail with nothing more than the phone number repeated.
They call at least 3-4 times a day and never leaves a message. This is harrassment.
I called them back and they said they were HSBC credit card insurance
Home Depot Credit
I got this call several times while away on vacation. I do not have nor have ever had a Capital One card or any other dealing with Capital One. I picked up during one call and got a recorded message. I called the number and was asked for my 16 digit Capital One card number. I hit "zero" several times to try and get a person. Next I was asked to enter my SSN. I entered 123456789. I was connected to a person obviously in India who asked for my 16 digit card number. I responded that I did not have one. She asked for my phone number which I gave her. It is a listed number. She indicated that my number would be removed form future calls within 48 hours.
I strongly suspect this is a scam. NEVER CALL AN UNKNOWN NUMBER AND GIVE EITHER A CREDIT CARD NUMBER OR SSN.
I believe these calls have nothing to do with whether or not you have a Capital One card.
Calls are received 3 to 4 times a day. I have asked the calling to stop. Please take my name out of your directory I am on the National No Call List and I will report it the next time I get a 800-955-6600 call.
call numerous times a day, never leave a message. When I called back, I received an automated response that said "You've been contacted for marketing research or a sales call."
I am a Capital One customer and am current on my payments, however, I continue to receive calls from this number stating that they need to contact me abut a collection matter. Does anyone know who I can contact this. They are calling my home phone and the person on the other end is a female with a slurred voice.
I missed ONE $13 payment by 4 days and they are calling already!?!? OMG!!!!! So glad I'm paying them off in 2 weeks!
They are a very annoying collection agency who will call even if you explain that you're disputing charges.
Signet Bank is behind it, not Capital One, although Capital One is one of their companies.
This caller called three times today.
THese people do not give up. They used to call every night a couple of times. I would never answer....now they call about 8AM every morning......still do not answer. I have called that number and it says" you have been contacted by a marketing or research co." UGH......
Constant hang up calls driving me crazy!!! How can they be stopped?
Called twice today. Upon answering there was silence both times.
I was only off by 52 minutes as they just called me at 8:52pm EST pieces of shit.
Holy shit....5 times today and counting. I guarantee they call once more at around 8pm. It's 7:10pm EST now.
I have been getting calls from this number for several months. I have started to report this to the do not call registry. When they call no one is on the line. I am going to file a police report. Thes calls are harassment, especially since when they do answer, I get several different names.
I know it is Capital One. I call them and spoke with Jose, the first two times I called I got disconnected. I also read on the internet that several law firms are plannig to go after them. I think the phone company should go after them. This is a felony thay are committing. P.S I hope they go to Jail for it.
I never ever had a Capitol One account and I never will. I wish everybody who had an account with them closed their accounts. That should put them out of business and keep all of us from getting illegal phone calls. from them.
I do not answer any unidentified calls. Had I known it was citi bank I would have answered only to get a valid people answering phone number. I have been tying to contact them about my account for three or four months. I cannot make a payment because their computer has erroneously and arbitrarily locked my online account(i am disabled and going to a store would be a hardship). Customer service told me not to make any more payment until they fixed the problem. Every number I have called has answered with a recorder asking me to leave a msg. I have yet to get a call back. At least from a phone identified as Citi Bank etc.
The call is a major interruption of what I am doing. I have to much to do for this BS! I reported it to the donotcall registry. If you want to do the same, go to www.donotcall.gov . I have two other numbers I have also reported. I am going to be on this like glue to END this cr*p! Each one of these numbers calls me several times a day. It's insane and it's making ME insane! Why isn't there a law against this that actually fines the idiots who are doing it. I'm not paying to have a phone for their convenience. It's supposed to be for mine. No, they never talk. It's just calling to harrass.
have received approx. 40 calls from this number over the past week, I do not answer, and rarely is a message left and when a message is left all that's recorded is "THANK YOU" in what sounds like a recording, very annoying!
No answer when we picked it up
I don't owe a dime to Capitol One so I know it's a scam. I did report it to the proper authorities and it is a known scam to all....don't give out any personal or financial information...that is the purpose of the call: to trick you into giving them sensitive info and then they rob you blind.
Very strange...I picked up the call & a recording stated that "Someone is trying to call this (meaning MINE) number...Please hold while they connect.". I held on thinking it'may be important but after about 15 seconds, I realized "this may be a scam" and hung up! My I phone is listed w/the National "Do Not Call" list, but I'm beginning think that doesn't work! I just hope I don't get some weird charges to my phone bill!
these maggots have called my answering machine over 25 times enough is enough. this country blows. i would like to kill this sob...
No message-called business.
While Robert was correct and it is Capital One's collections dept. that was no reason for him to be nasty. When I received a call because I transposed numbers and was a couple of dollars short on a payment there was no one on the phone the first 6 times I answered. That was one reason I came here to check out the number.
The problem with this number is even when you answer it there is usually no one there.
I called them back today and it is for a credit card offer. I gave them my number and told them that if they did not stop calling me every day I would report them to the better business bureau and to the state attorneys general. Thanks for giving me your name so I can be accurate when I report you. Do not call me again. Then I hung up.
It calls me several times a day. I have 0 balance on my c cards, so, I dont know what they would call about.
Im in Charlotte NC
I keep getting calls from this number 866-831-4847. They hang up when I answer & the never leave a message when the machine picks up. Sometimes they call up to 7-8 times a day and never speak when I pick up the phone. When you call back the number its states that you have been contacted for a slaes or marketing call. Then hangs up. So you can't even tell them to stop calling you! I am registed on the do not call list & have filed a complaint. But I also filed a complaint with the FCC today. I encourage everyone to fill out this form so that they will do something about this company- whoever they are. The FCC link is: esupport.fcc.gov
Get calls almost everyday...Never had a Capitol One card so Sorry Robert and Rick...just because you are a deadbeats doesnt mean everyone else is
calls 7 times a day or more, get disconnect signal if i call it back. no message and no one is on the line. arg!
Capital One ... same electronic voice as their regular 1-800 number ... trying to get customers to come back?
Oh....and BTW, I do NOT have a CAP 1 Acct. Never have. The people in this room encouraging everyone to call are almost certainly part of this scam. I'm only surprised it's gone on this long before the FBI or State Dept has got involved.
Ok......I just called CAP 1 because I keep getting calls from this number. Although they do confirm that this is a collection number, they are very skeptical and think that fraud is definately a possibility here. They will be investigating the matter because it's definately hurting their actual collections effort. DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO THESE PEOPLE!
Calls frequently, several times a day and sometimes very early in the morning.
I called it back; Said "Thank you for calling Capital One. Please enter your account number".
Did Not Leave message.
W. Fetrow (from 2007-10-09) you're an idiot. It's the "DemocratIC Party", not the "Democrat Party"
This # calls me every single day, multiple times. I've picked up a few times to tell them to take me off of their list, but then they hang up on me. I don't know what to do, they are seriously getting on my last nerve. I have no idea who they are or how to get them to stop calling me. Once I even called them back, but this didn't clear up the mystery...I'm still just as clueless to their identity as I was the first time I received the call. Kind of glad to know I'm not the only one with this perpetual caller..
Ha. First they called from "Unknown Name" then from "Not Provided" like I wouldn't know the difference or even answer. Losers.
Sometimes when they call me I select to talk to them and they ask me to leave a message at the tone. It's fun to see how many swear words I can get out before their system cuts out. I wonder if we could slow down their phone system if we all were to fill up their voice mail storage with junk messages.
tired of these calls.
Caller left message saying it was debt collection and to call 1-800-477-1827. Could not understand name of collector. Since this does not apply to me I will ignore. I love caller id.
This number calls me everyday asking for someone who doesn't live here, and every day I tell them they have the wrong number and to never call again, but low and behold the next day at the same time they call looking for the same person.
Calls recieved 5 times last 3 days. No message
Called ID says Wells Fargo -
My hangups were from Discover -- I'm now on their donotcall list.
morons hung up on answering machine
LOL..get a VOIP. I have blocked this number, so it never rings, and they get a constant busy signal. With VOIP you can block INDIVIDUAL telephone numbers. It is a awesome feature, yet if you look at your call log online you can still see if they are calling..and yes these guys are still calling, but they will never get through on my line using this telephone number..hahaha! I use teleblend if anyone is wondering, but there are many others that offer a number block. I don't know why regular phone companys are so slow to adopt such a thing..perhaps a conflict of interest since they also sell your numbers.
3 times yesterday, and twice so far today. I have the computer answer and tell them that I am on the do not call list, I have called Discover card and asked that it stop, I have recorded all the calls to the donotcall.gov list. An address to this company would be nice to write a cease and disist letter.
They've been calling here 3 times a day for many days and never leaving messages. I called the number back and a recording identified them as HSBC and that they may have called about a credit card offer. I waited to speak to a representative who identified themselves as "Credit Services." I refused to give my name when asked but identified the number I wanted removed from their call list. They apologized and but me on hold and spoke to someone identified as a supervisor. I told them I wanted my number removed and if I received any phone calls after the next 48 hours I would be contacting both my state attorney general's office and the state they are incorporated as well. They apologized and said the calling would stop within 48 hours. Judging from the accents of both people I spoke to I believe this is a call center in India or Pakistan. I'll know if they've actually removed my number in 48 hours.
It is really a pain that these people keep calling every day for the past 3 months and sometimes twice a day.
I have had it. I am calling Discover Card and tell them to stop or I am going to cancel my card.
THIS IS A HOOKER SERVICE. THEY WANT TO SELL DIRTY WET VAGINAS.
These A holes call every day multiple times, no one ever there
What's in your wallet?? Better get it out of there!!!
I got 5 calls from this number: 2 on the 8th, 2 on the 9th, and one today. I was home for the last call. When I picked up the receiver, I heard nothing after I said Hello. So I hung up and won't answer in the future if/when this number comes up on the CallerID again.
tv programs offer
MORE CALLS ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unknown or 800 Service show on ID
I get calls every hour (sometimes every half hour)of every day of the week beginning at 8:30am until 9pm on my home and cell phone.
Here is a link to other responders who seem to have a better idea who they are. 800notes.com
Claimed to be from DiscoverCard. Offered to send my three credit reports for free. I asked multiple times if there was a charge and they said "no." They said they monitored my account for fraud and would continue to. Kept asking if they could send the packet and I kept asking about a charge and they kept saying "no." Eventually, they said I had 30 days from the postmark and then tried to steer the talk away quickly. When I asked about the 30 days, she finally said to cancel or it would be $12.99 per month.
Radio station WTQR money give away.. Listen to radio station between 2 certain times for a chance to win money!!! I asked " are you kidding you think I am going to lsten to your station for that!"
Calls every.......single........day. No company name. The automated person wants you to leave them your name after the tone if you're interested in a federal grant.
On 31 March 2008 - three calls between 7:45pm and 8:47pm. No message left.
On 1 April 2008 - four calls between 5:13pm and 7:02pm. No message left.
ugh!!! They call at least 5 times a day is there a way to get off their stupid list!!!!!
Telemarketer. Don't bother trying to be put on their DNC list. We get them calling our biz many afternoons a week, always late in the day.

talked & they hung up.
No message left.
I am faxing a letter to the CEO of Discover about this today. I suggest you do the same.

Called my business phone today, no message, Caller ID said Not Provided.
Do these jerks really think I am going to answer a Not Provided ID phone call?
They all should be lined up againt a wall and shot for their annoying, lieing and
scaming ways. I guess some people just can't make money in an honest way.
2-3x day everyday last 2 weeks. leaves no message on machine. When call back the number, recording says you have been contacted for sales or marketing purposes. Today I picked up, person asked is this Sharon. I said yes, they hung up.
THIS NUMBER CALLS 7 DAYS A WEEK EARY IN THE MORNING TILL ABOUT 9PM AWE NEVER ANSWER ANYMORE AND YET IT IS VERY ANNOYING!
These "unknowns" have resumed calling me daily. I do not respond but WILL file another FTC complaint.
Called several times a day for weeks, finally called number back and got someone named Mike claiming to be from Capital One wanting my SSN, phone number and address to remove from their list - what kind of idiot would do that?
I've been phone spammed by these guys too. I called them and asked to have my number removed(over 3 weeks ago, now the calls have gotten worse. Used to only get three calls a day now it's 6-7 times a day and night. The latest they've called was 7PM.
Caller asks for May. I noted a Vague accent.
They have called repeatedly for weeks, sometimes 5-6 times a day. I answer and say hello and there is silence then finally someone who is obviously foreign as they speak with heavy accents. They have been told to not call us again and still do. My husband told them to not call-put it in writing if they wanted something. They called back 10 minutes later! This morning they called at 8:30 am as I was leaving for work. They are driving me crazy!
this 800 number says they are cap one it is ascam, fraud, they try to get me to make pymt on card with wrong number beware i have been scammed.
It's Capital One = They are relentless!
I get 3 to 4 calls a day, then it stops for a few months. Then starts up again.
Those guys (Robert & David) that claim the callers know why this number is calling us is probably working for them and they are the ones calling.
If you're hooked up to fax, just hit the fax on the first ring to stop the noise in your home, if they want to hear the fax scream at them every time, so be it. Fax them to death or turn your volume & answering machine OFF.
These people call 4 to 5 times a day and leae no message.
Telemarketers from Discover Card trying to sell credit monitoring service and ID Theft protection. To get off their list call their Customer Service at 1-800-347-2683.
These imputent idots call at least 8-10 times every single day!
Can't sombody stop this insanity.
Usually get a call from this number but never answered until today. They asked for my husband and I asked to take a message, they said it was just a courtesy call. Yeah, right.
capital ONE dedt collectors
Didn't answer. They've already called twice to a brand new cell number. And I don't carry a Capital One CC so it's NOT a collection call.
This annoying telemarketer has been calling all of our medical office lines, including the emergency line. I chose the option "be added to our do not call list" to no avail. I hope this jackass needs to call a medical emergency line someday and can't get through because one of his fellow jackasses is tying up the line with "an important message." >:)
this number no longer in service
Robert WV is either a working republican or retired military. Faked Caller ID.
ask for spouse and never leaves a message
Calls receved x3 between 9 and 10 on Sunday morning.
I have received calls from this farce for 4 months. Those who think that by owing capitol one is the reason needs to research this more. I have talked to reps many times and they are never consistent in reason for call. They don't even have the correct name for phone number they are calling. By using another person's number, someone is evading payment for credit rendered. I get calls 3-4 tmes daily, 7 days a week. If Damon Gillian is out there, the authorities are now close to catching up to you. Write another bad check. Steal someone else's number.
Hey, Robert and Ric...what a couple of REAL GOBSHITES.
Why don't you two just pay everyone that claims you owe them money.
No wonder we have theft fraud with assholes like you 2.
By the way can I collect couple of Grand if I call you?
Recording said somethnig about they are looking for businesses that are looking for newly availble government grant money. "press 1 for more information, press 8 to be added to our do not call list". I pressed 8... lets see what happens...
They call and leave long messages and you can't disconnet from the call. If you pick up the line again, they are still talking. When to try to call them back, you get a message from the phone number saying it is not in service. How can it not be in service if they just called you on two different lines?? Ggggrrrrr
Oh how I just love it when thay call you around 7 in the morning and I refuse to pick up the phone. They call me 3 times from fri-sun
Calling 4-5 times a day. Have a machine will not leave message.
This number has called every 10 minutes from 3-4pm today, 2-27-08.

I got the call and never had a Capital One card. Roberts WV and Rick are morons. Scams all the way.
4 Times a day 10:00AM,12:25PM,2:45PM,4:49PM.
Guy calls asking if we can settle on a past due amount. I told him, "If I could do that, do you think we'd even be having this conversation?"
Whoop! They called again. This time I was at my desk and spoke to a person who is obviously in an over seas call center. They were/are indeed looking for someone else. We'll have to see if my explaining that they have reached an internal number for my company has any effect.
Just a note to say the calls now appear to have stopped. Since I never knew just who Capitol One was attempting to contact I don't know if this was because of my complaint to the 6600 number or a result of my cancellation of my Capitol One card. In either case, I have one less line of open credit and Capitol One has one less customer. Good for me but probably not what Capitol One hopes for.
This is CapitalOne, and not scammers. With the amount of information they know already (CC numbers/balances, checking account numbers, addresses etc) they wouldn't need to call to scam you. They'd just take your money. This is a legitimate call from CapitalOne providing free same-day over-the-phone payments of overdue balances. I'm actually quite thankful for the call as I had completely forgotten that I had a balance on this card (less than $100) and it was hurting my credit record.
They called me twice. The first call I greeted them and no one answered. The line went dead after 4 seconds. 5 minutes later they called again. I asked about the first call, and apparently the auto-dialer and the call center extensions work seperately and sometimes there is a delay between the two and the CapitalOne employees do not hear anyone on the other end of the line so the call ends. Whatever. Calm down people.
This number calls everyday without someone speaking and hangs up quickly.
THIS PEOPLE HAVE BEEN CALLING MY HOUSE EVERYDAY OR EVERY TWO DAYS I HAVE SPOKE WITH THIS PEOPLE I TOLD THEM I WAS NOT INTERESTED AND THEY STILL KEPT RUNNING THEIR MOUTHES AND ME STILL TELLING THEM I WAS NOT INTERESTED SO THEY CALLED TWO DAYS LATER AND MY HUSBAND TOLD THEM NOT TO CALL BACK AND THEY ARE STILL HARRASSING ME SO WOULD YOU PLEASE TELL THEM TO STOP CALLING MY HOUSE
There are certain rules that debt collectors must adhere to. Do a search for the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act Sections 804, 805, and 806 for more information on what you can do.
When I found that this number was probably a collection agency for Capitol One I did panic a bit since I have not used a Capitol One card in years. But then I began wondering how they would have gotten my work phone rather than my home phone. I ran a credit report and found no suspicious activity. My Capitol One card had $0 balance and had not been used in 5 years. I called Cap. One and canceled the account altogether as a first step and then called the 6600 number and, after refusing to give my CC# or SS# and explaining the problem, was told that no further calls would be made to the number. 24 hours later... I returned from lunch and found they had called again.
Keep getting calls from this number and when I answer they hang up. It is very annoying since this is a business and I usually have to put a paying customer on hold to answer and get hung up on! Why isn't this illegal? Back in the 70s when people prank called each other this way you could get into a lot of trouble. Somebody stop the insanity!
Call 4 to 8 times a day, from 7:59 AM to 10:59 PM.
Appears to be using a Phone Dialer, we get several successive calls a day at our call center. Either something about a grant, loan, or John from NSBA
these idiots keep calling, ask for me and when I answer they hang up! Any way of stopping them?
Recorded messages not in compliance with FCC rules. Report them here: www.fcc.gov
Robert - I don't have a Capital One card so they cannot be calling about an overdue balance. Whatever they're doing they are violating the Do Not Call list. You've just motivated me to file a complaint with the FCC. Thanks!
3 or 4 times a day everyday. It's been going on for two weeks. The first call comes at 8:01 a.m. and always wakes me up - I work nights.
This is really capital one trying to collect a payment. What is really annoying is after searching the number and finally talking to someone I told them I couldnt pay the minimum of 450 dollars and would pay after my payment protector benefits came through. They called me back every hour after that. I have enough problems as is. I told them to stop calling. They didnt. I sent them a letter stating i knew when the due date was but I have a son who is blind I havent work in a year and I CANT PAY. They still call everyday. Im getting very angry
Get lots of calls 702 736-3099 "UNKNOWN NAME" AND some 702891-0929 "GROA INC" my spouse answered once, got recording, left our # for call back, they called today saying they are a small business grant org. am now trying to research them online.
they are unknown and don't leave a message, I have gotten calls at least 3-4 times a day, who are they?

call repeatedly, hang up with ans. machine then call back, does this at least 3-4 times in a row, starts often at 8am, I pick up once and said this is harrassment but keep calling every day
What's in your wallet?
This number calls me at least 4 times per day.
I DON'T EVEN HAVE CAPITAL ONE, but this shit keeps calling me.
Called 2-3 times per hour from 4-9pm for the past 5 days. No answer.
They called 5 times, no messages left. You would think they would leave you alone when your monthly payment is $11!
"A man with a heavy accent asked for WICKI. I asked what it was regarding he said "follow up to a letter". I just kept saying I could not understand him. He kept asking for WICKI when I told him there was no one here by that name...he became indignant and said I could just say "wrong number" then he said something unintelligable and hung up on me.VERY ANNOYING waste of my time and my cell minutes."
YOU ARE ALL SO ID+OTS!!!! OH MY GOD, IF IT IS A WRONG NUMBER JUST SAY IT AND THATS IT, THEY WON
Insanely early call, now my infant won't go back to sleep and is cranky. Guy from CapitalOne saying I'm past due and insisting on payment during that phone call. Trying to get me to say that if I won't pay him that I'd pay later today (I never said that or anything like that). Also told me that because of a past due balance I wouldn't be able to pay online. Kept pushing payment even though I kept saying no. I consider it harassment if I have to say no more than three times.
Seemed fishy to me, so I finally told him I don't pay people over the phone and that if I need to I'll use the automated system to pay then hung up. Went online to check bank account and CapitalOne account (yes, it's past due) and under available credit it says, "We have payment solutions for you. Call us at 1-800-955-6600" so I know it's a legit number. If they call again I will be letting them know that they are harassing me.
just called 3 times in the last five minutes. didn't answer any of them.
I also got a call from this number saying enter my card information, not knowing if this was legit I called Capital one from the number on my credit card. This number is for account services and the are trying to reach you in reference missed payment or over limit fees. It is real and it is Capital One.
Just called 1-800 Discover and they identified this number as theirs - have lodged a complaint with them and with donotcall.gov
I was also receiving several calls a day just to be hung up when answered or no message left on answering machine...
This number calls several times a week, never leaving a message. I am glad I found this website, its nice (unfortunately) to know I am not alone and it happens to countless others. Of course IT SHOULDN'T. There ought to be a way to make them stop!
-One last thing I learned from a nationally-known fraud investigator I worked with: scratch out the whole credit card number on your credit receipts. In some states, it is actually illegal for their systems to print that whole number any more, but if it's there, use a pen and mark it until it's obliterated. Think about it. You just handed the server or clerk or bartender your number and a pretty signature to use if they want. Ask to speak to a manager if they don't know any better, and point out that the transaction number on the number is all they need to add on the tip.
All these ideas are about minimizing loss. You might lose the time you spent on the phone listening to a possibly legit collections call, or the piece of plastic or singles in your pocket, but hopefully, you exposed nothing more that anyone could use against you later on to commit fraud, or identity theft.
-A couple more tricks, not necessarily related to these calls: Have a throwdown name and number. Of course my banks and utilities and credit cards have my real information, but there is no reason that my Great Clips stylist needs to know that I'm not Jason Johnson with phone number X in her system who wants a #4 trim on the sides and back. Have a throwdown password. Of course there are anti-spyware and anti-virus programs you should always be using, but some admin at myspace or a local newspaper that requires registration for posting comments on stories should never have access to the same password I use for my online banking or bill-pay service. All these ideas come from the same mind-set I've had since before I was a cop. Heck, I always had a throw-down pen in my pocket for inmates and arrestees to use when their grubby hands had to sign something, and I've always had a pocketful of singles to toss in the air while I turn and run with my credit cards and driver's license in my wallet in the other pocket if I get mugged downtown. Write "See ID" on the signature blank on your credit cards. If your wallet or purse is lost or stolen, you might buy yourself a couple transactions if someone runs to buy a TV with it and the clerk refuses.
-As for the calls themselves, if you're still using a landline, you're kind of screwed, but you could always turn down the ring on your phone during dinner or take it off the hook at night (unless you have family that might ever call with an emergency), and screen the calls with Caller ID like usual. My choice to only use a cell phone, and subsequently port my Grandma's landline number to a cell on my plan that is simple enough for her to operate while I take care of her has been one of the best choices I have ever made. It's significantly cheaper, as far as matching the plan to my lifestyle, and it takes me about three seconds to fish the phone out of my pocket, see the 800 number, and hit ignore. I don't have three phones in the house anymore that ring and ring as I get up and walk to them. Hell, I even saved this number in the phone's memory as "Scam", and all the numbers that Comcast (whom I really do owe) calls from in the memory as "Collections". It can't get less annoying than that. And of course, you could eventually just block the number through your provider if this number calls consistently enough to bother with that.
Collections agencies have enough information in their system to find you based on what the company your owe provided them when they were hired, so you would never have to confirm account numbers or social security numbers or dates of birth or addresses. If you suspect (Haha!) that it might be a legit collections call, then listen to what they say your options are, but say you will not handle this business over the phone, and demand that they send the information in printed form to the address in their system. THEN HANG UP. Feel free to call the company you owe with the real phone number from your statements, confirm your account status, and see if that account has been handed off to a collections agency, or if you pretty please couldn't just be transferred to an in-house loan or account-service department. If is has been handed off, then they should be able to tell you who that collections agency is, as well as a valid number for them.
As a former cop who handled many fraud cases, I see two possibilities. One, this is an unprofessional collection agency (duh, is there any other kind?) with incorrect information in their system, or Two, this is a scam. I was curious which, and that is why I bothered googling the number, but it really doesn't matter which it is, because my response is the same.
Here are some simple options to handle this, while giving the most consideration to protecting yourself from fraud:
-If you really owe somebody something (as anyone in debt honestly knows if they do, to whom, and about how much), do your best to pay it.
-Pay your debts, or any payment, securely. This means YOU initiating the call to the company's real number, on the back of your card or the top of your monthly statements. If you pay online, make sure it's on a website you found on the back of a card or the top of your monthly statements, and make sure when you hit "enter", you're on a page with an "https" address. Make sure any mailing addresses come off the top of your monthly statements, as well. If you actually get a live body on the other end of a call they initiated, use common sense, and don't give them ANY, I repeat, ANY information.
I finally answered today, after finally googling the number and finding this site yesterday. Three or four minutes of hold time, female with heavy accent asked for David Armstrong. Said this was in ref to a Master Card, and admitted this was a collections agency. I told her several times that there is no David Armstrong, I have never and will never have a Master Card, to take me off the list immediately, and any further calls would not be legitimate business calls, in accordance with the Do Not Call Registry. She made me verbally confirm for the recording that this was a "wrong number", by making me say that phrase.
By the way, I have had my phone number for two years and these calls started this month, really have never had a Master Card, and have no credit card debts, so anyone on this thread who assumes everyone who posts here is in debt and should just pay is making a blanket statement.
they call every day!
I picked up the phone and the person hung up as soon as he heard my voice.
Robert WV - Sounds like you work for Capital One - why don't you stay off of this site as your message appears to be more harrassment from Capital One. Next time you call, be a man and leave a message - you won't get any return calls from me if you don't identify yourself you coward.
This number is a valid collection number from Capital One. If they are calling you either they are looking for a previous nameholder with your phone number or it is a case of Identity Theft
Very bad sound quality. Lady asked for me and give an speech about something they were offering but due bad connection quality I has no Idea on what they where offering.
You owe someone money, simple as that !
Called twice within five minutes, no one there when answered.
I have received 26 calls from this number since 12/26/07. I have an account with Capital One but sent them a letter when I opened this account back in May of 2007 that I did not want to be called for any reason. Since I started receiving calls I have contacted them over 6 times telling them to stop calling. This past time I told them I was going to take legal action against them if they called again. Guess what?? They have called 5 times after this. I am starting legal proceedings against them next weeek.
I don't answer phone calls from unknown area codes.
Keep getting calls from this number at my business (at least several times weekly, if not almost daily). Something to do with business loans... I never answer and never will.
Called asking for my wife by her madien name then hung up on me if you call teh number back you can reach someone to talk to...sound like call center wasnt in the U.S.A
Marketing research or a sales call
Didn't answer, those bastards called 4 times today! I think I will get that phone tray software. Who do these people think they are?
I just called the number back and spoke with a Phellore . she is suppose to be a supervisor. She said it would take 48 hours to have my name removed. I told her to take it off NOW. this is ridiculous! How can they get away with this.
This number has called several times a day for weeks now. My daughter has answered a few time, but they wont leave a call back number or a name. They call at all hours. This is really harrassment!
I am on the Do Not Call Registry
WAIT THRU THE AUTOMATED RECORDINGS! i did and talked to "ted" at "capitol one" he imediately asked for my account number and i informed him i dont expect to recieve any more calls from them EVER.
These guys call us MULTIPLE times a day. Yes, we are behind on a lot of our bills. If it is in fact Capital One, we have several cards with them and we are late on all of them. We know that. Calling 8 times a day isn't going to change that, Guys! You'll get it when I have it. I'm more concerned about my house that's in foreclosure at this point.
I have received these calls up to 5 times per day, most of them within minutes of each other. This is very annoying, and I decided to call the number back. They say it's Capital One, but on the website, the number is no where to be found and it is suspicious that they ask for your card number and SSN. Do not give your info!
This number calls a lot. I don't answer, I let answering machine get it. They hang up when machin picks up.
Thank you "Annoyed" I just called and added myself to there list.. Maybe it will end now!
I am getting these at work so I just put my work number on the "DO NOT CALL" List as well as my home number for the third time. Now I'm starting to track these calls to sue their butts. I really think we should sue the companies that sell our information since that "should" be confidential we are not movie starrs here that everything we do, call or buy gets sold to someone.
take my nane off
It is funny, when they call I pick up and I hang up right away. They call right back, and I do the same. They wait a day or two and do it again.
Asked for my wife. Said she wasn't here could I take message. They said no and quickly hung up. I'm pretty sure this is Discover Card. Even though I'm registered on DONOTCALL, they have "right to call" since we have that credit card. One way out-Call company and tell them to stop calling for marketing and sales research...otherwise it never stops...
Have received a call from this number twice two days in a row. I did not answer, as it was to my cell phone which I have not shared with any companies.
I don't have a Capital One Card. Haven't had a credit card for almost 10 years. I think it's a scam.
I started receiving calls from this # yesterday. I was given this phone by the business I work for and to my knowledge they have no credit cards via Cap. One or one of their affiliate rackets. Yes this is a Cap. One number but it might not be Cap. One calling...... Take a look at www.spoofcard.com then you might rethink just entering your personal data. Look on the back of your card and call customer service. BE SMART PEOPLE not dumb sheeple.
PS Citizen knows about spoofing another wiseman and Robert WV...lackey corporate dog!
Three times so far today. Twice within 30 minutes.
They keep calling my 11 year old son's cell phone asking for a Jeffrey. We have no Jeffrey in our household. I've told them that it is a kids cell phone they are calling and there is no Jeffrey here, but they still keep calling. In response to Robert from WV, I pay my capital one card early every month, so get off your high horse!
It is in fact Capital One Collections. I confirmed with their customer service group 888-817-2970 (I got that number from the www.CaptialOne.com website). I don't have a Capital One card, but apparently somebody used my phone number with their credit application. When they defaulted on their credit card balance, I got the phone call. When I told the customer service group this, they were very appreciative and told me that they would remove my number from this investigation. I can understand why they wanted to know this as it will only help them advance their efforts to collect on this debt.
They did not leave a message on my office voice mail. When I called this number back, it said "you have been contacted for marketing research or a sales call". GO AWAY!!!! I hate these places. They are a waste of time!
They call us virtually every day, too. I always recognize the number, though, and I pick up the phone and hand it to our 16-month-old daughter, who delightfully jabbers nonsense in their ear until they hang up. But they never take the hint and they continue to call back. It's funny, though.
i just got a new phone and phone number and i believe that the person who had it before me is the one they are trying to reach
I am also on the DO NOT CALL LISAT I guess the only way to get these calls to stop is to elect 435 new members to the House of Representatives on November 4. It is quite obvious that the current incumbents put the political exemptions in place to serve their own interests and the heck with the voter's wishes. Let this be THE AMERICAN VOTERS BATTLE CRY - THROW THE BUMS OUT! A NEW CONGRESS IS NEEDED - ONE THAT REPRESENTS THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE - NOT THE INTERESTS OF CONGRESSIONAL MEMBERS. AND ONE THAT PLACES THE INTERESTS OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ABOVE THE MID-EAST WAR AND THE ILLEGAL ALIENS - ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Drives me nuts. They call everyday but leave no voicemail!!
This # keeps calling our work and wasting our time. We have caller ID so now we have it set to go right to out answering machine. When it goes to the answering machine it never leaves a message, when we tried answering it sits there forever with no one there or pauses then hangs up in 3 seconds. We do not know if they are trying to get ahold of a former or current employee but they can not keep calling and hanging up, that is a for of harassment and they should not keep calling and never leave a message. If they would just leave a message we could figure out what or who they want.
they called me and the woman on the phone asked me to give her my bank account numbers so she could make my payment through my checking account for me. bullsh*t!!!!!! i know that any bank would NEVER ask me for that info, then when i refused to share my account info over the phone, but said i will pay myself through the mail, she argued with me to give her the info! i had to hang up on her to end the call.
Been getting this call off and on now for over a year and a half. At first they'd only leave silence on the voice mail machine then hang up. Later on, they knew exactly how many rings there were before the machine would kick on and they'd hang up before it'd record.
I believe they may be from an out sourced telemarketing company used by the Discover Card Company. As soon as they finally stop calling me, they start up again right after I use my Discover card. I don't positivly know for sure if they're affiliated with them (have no proof) but I highly suspect Discover's trying to get around the "Do Not Call" laws... very dirty. I have reported the number to the DNC agency just yesterday (12-20-07).
Calls Daily And No-One At The Other End !! If You Call Then SPEAK !! So I can Kindly Hang Up On You Properly (HA HA)
Okay glad I checked..I'll block them...
asked if i was home I said who's this and they hung up
they constantly call. when I pick up and tell them the person they are looking for never lived here they promise to remove my number. of course, they never do. what is worse, when I ask for their name & address they say they are not allowed to give this. this is in direct violation of the fair debt collection act. been trying to find out the company to bring a lawsuit.
Just called Office: (877) 472-6814 told them I want them to stop calling me they transfered me to Josephine who asked for the number they where calling and said she will add it to the blocked number database. (do I believe this only time will tell) But hey where getting a live person now.
They wouldn't hang up so I asked her if she'd like to go out and then she hung up. :(
Capital One collections had to wait for few minutes to get to an agent
I just fired off a letter to Mr. Fairbank with copies to the Virginia Attorney General and the Banking Commissioner. After several "You've got the wrong number" and "Do not call this number again" I am still being barraged on my new car phone. My next move is to report them to the FBI. They have a website for such things and don't require a stamp.
Definitely Capital One Collections - I am a former collection department agent
At least 5 times a day! up until nine at night... collection for capital one card? Sometomes claim to be an attorney looking for someone about a capital one card.....
Received first call on 12/15/07 and second call today, 12/17/07 @ 10 am PST. I called the number that appeared on caller ID and immediately got a recording about the call being monitored then transferred right away to representative named David. He said that they were calling about a Citibank Home Depot account.
I do not have any such account and he informed me that he could not find my phone number in their database, either. He politely and professional explained that the number was probably in the automated call system erroneously and that he removed it.
He mentioned that I might get another call today since the system updates at night, but if I get a call tomorrow either answer or call them back so that they can investigate what account the number has been linked with.
Did anyone actually read what the Do Not Call Registry covers and what it does not??? The DNC DOES NOT cover, charitable organization, political calls, market/research surveys or companies that you have done prior business with. If want the calls to stop, you have to tell these idiots to "Remove you from their call list" and yes, you have to say it that way. Saying, "Stop calling me" does nothing and they will continue to call.
For more information about your rights and what to do if you have already told a company to "remove you from their list" go to: www.fcc.gov
Knowledge is power especially against all these morons!!!!
Saw a different blog with many other similar complaints -- people there said the call comes from Discover cards. Called 1-800-DISCOVER and got put on their do not call list (within 6-8 weeks!). I also registered my phone on www.donotcall.gov. This "service" hangs up when you answer - completely ridiculous. From the other comments, wondering if it's just Discover, or an outside marketing service that works for various companies to determine if/when you're home, and if you'll answer the phone. Seems like an invasion to me.
The caller said he was doing a political poll, didn't say which party. Asked which was most important to me when I go to vote. One issue he asked about was illegal immigration and he could barely speak English. He asked who I'd vote for out of the list of Republican candidates and I told him I didn't know who I'd vote for but I told him I knew 100% who I would not vote for and that would be Ron Paul. Funny now after reading one person here says it was a Ron Paul poll. If it was it's at least the 4th time lately one of his polls have contacted me using a different number and tactic each time. I've noticed the occurance of telemarketers and research calls have doubled lately. I am on the do not call list too.
A man with a heavy accent asked for WICKI. I asked what it was regarding he said "follow up to a letter". I just kept saying I could not understand him. He kept asking for WICKI when I told him there was no one here by that name...he became indignant and said I could just say "wrong number" then he said something unintelligable and hung up on me.VERY ANNOYING waste of my time and my cell minutes.
if this is capital one collecting past due etc calling 3x in a row in like 5 mins is moronic when you keep getting a machine
This call appeared on my new cell phone even before I got out of the store and found out what my new number was. I called them back to tell them to take the number off their list and they went through the
Rather certain it was Capital One, wish the bastards had left a message a few months ago when they started calling... I hardly use the card... but I had a unpaid balance... they are jerks for not leaving a message... people getting calls over the phone with people asking for their capital one card number might be fraud as they don't need your number they know it or they wouldnt be calling you... if they are asking for another card number, it because they want you to pay the balance...
perhaps some folks are getting spoofed caller ID fraud calls, but if you have a CapitalOne card, check you balance to be safe...
Automated call, offering "unrepayable" grants.
I started recieiving calls from this number several days ago. Called back today and found out my ex-wife used my phone number for her Home Depot account.
They called once, I picked up the line and nobody was there. The phone rang again in a moment, this time a lady on the phone said she was calling from the Baltimore Fraternal Order of Police, explained a story about a police officer and asked for a donation.
I receive a voicemail message from "Karen" at "Capital One" wanting to discuss an important business matter. She did not say who she was calling for. The funny thing about this call is that we just got this cell phone today and I haven't given out the number to anyone. I didn't even know what the number was until I picked up a copy of the contract from the store later. Our organizing document prohibits credit so we couldn't even get a Capital One card if we wanted to. I called tyhem bacfk and they insisted I put in an account number. We have none. Then they insisted I put in a SSN. We have none. They finally came on the phone and I explained that this is a new phone whose number is not known by anyone but the phone service provider and to stop calling.
Chase Home Mtg - did not answer - have received calls previously.
I'm on the do not call list and it is very agravating to keep getting these calls several times a day.
After receiving a call at my office from this number 3 days ago (last Friday) I decided to answer it when it called again today. After answering the phone, the woman on the other end simply said it was a wrong number, thanked me and hung up.
They have called at least 4 times today, they never leave a message,I am so sick of the elections already!!
to everyone out there reading this, the call from the number is a capital one but, if it was really legitamite they would leave a message like other companies due. to Robert from WV, you are a genuine smart ass and this is why, my wife got a call from this number, here account was up to date and current, not past due for you folks from WV, and she still got the call. so, the bill was paid and up to date not like your smartass comment about pay your bill on time and you will not get a call. my wife did and still got a call. so, maybe you should stay in the backwoods of WV and keep your sister loving, coal mining, toothless ass where it belongs!!
The number is Chase Financial Services, I asked to be put on the remove list and they did. No problems.
they've called everyday at least 4-5 times for the past 2 weeks. last night part of a message was left about Ron Paul for president. Give me a break. How do you make them stop?? DNC at its tricks
This number has called 8 times today alone and has called atleast 5 times a day for the last few weeks. I have never answered the phone.
It is 100% Capital One. I just called the number. They answer via automated recording Capital One. No doubt about it. By the way, I have a Capital One Card. "What's in your pocket?"
Ron Paul, running for President, used this number to make an illegal (by our state law) automated dialing and announcing device (ADAD)pre-recorded political call despite being previously made aware that such calls are illegal, and generally unwelcome. Keep this in mind when you decide for whom you will vote. He must have hired this telemarketing company. If he is a conscientious public servant, he should freely share with all of us, the FCC, and state authorities the identity of the telemarketing company.
This phone call was a lady wanting to tell me about something General Motors was going to do for me. When I pressed her for where she was calling from, she told me it was the Philippines.
These people call EVERYday. They call all hours of the day. If I have 6 missed calls, 5 are from them no doubt. I'm on the do not call list too. Glad to see it helps! grrr....
Yesterday they called my house 10 times. This is getting to be very annoying. My number is on the do not call list.
I've been getting calls 4x a day 5 days a week from this number for about 3 weeks now...
yeah, I DO have a Capital One card, but this number only calls my cell phone and I've only had my cell phone number for a couple of months, and Capital One DOES NOT know my number. Explain that one.
Capitol One, It would be nice to leave a message when they call but they always hang up.
Calls come in 4-5 times a day.
Its funny how moronic some of you are trying to call HSBC and hanging up on them as if they even cared. or as even the telemarketers care. They are used to that and just thing "oh, another pathetic moron trying to be funny" They just hang up and move on. They care about their sales, not about whatever you can say or do to them.
And if you call HSBC you'll get in touch with an HSBC office in the US. But the nummber that calls you is the code for an automatic dialer that connects you to the call centers in other places. Basically you CAN'T call the people calling you. You'll just have to deal with it, im sorry.
Oh and by federal law they can call as many times as they want until they speak with someone five times. And between 9 am and 9 pm. Besides, for gods sake, are you people 80 years old that you go to sleep at 7.30 or 8 pm? That's even sad.
Just politely ask to be put on de do not call list, or talk with them. Period. If you pick up and no one answers, wait, say hello, and their sistem will link you to the next available telemarketer. And presto!
Called several times. Person said it he was from Capitol One. The person sounded like he was in a "boiler room" and was obviously not from this country. He said that our conversation would be recorded. After he asked me for my SSN and my bank account information you can imagine what I said back to him - #$^*(&@$%^&** (it isn't printable)
1-800-955-6600 is same as 1-800-955-7070. Capital One.
They call my cell 4+ times a day every day, 2 weeks so far. I don't answer 1-800 calls on my cell, but it's very annoying to receive the calls. It's harrassment. I don't have an account with them. I've called their #'s from my landline and explained that they have the wrong #, I don't have an account & to remove my # from their list...to 4 different people, 4 different times. It's hopeless. I will tell everyone I know about Capital One's practices and will never do business with them. Word of mouth is powerful.
All my #'s are listed on donotcall.gov. I am now filing complaints with the FTC, FCC, BBB, donotcall.gov and my state's Attorney General. Some of these you can do online.
I'm also writing an email complaint at firstname.lastname@example.org
Automated message about offering grants for businesses. Didn't listen to whole message, just hung up.
yep Capital One....and it will call 8-10 times a day until 9pm
Please stop calling this number as it is new to me.
They caLL US everyday. Sometimes twice a day. Thank goodness for caller id.
They've been calling me for weeks now. Most of the time I ignore it. Sometimes I answer and immediately hang up on them. Odds are it's Discover from everything I read. These started a few weeks after I signed up for their card.
For your information Robert, my Cap One is paid up. This 800 service is not from Cap One.
This 800 Service calls me under different numbers about every 20 to 30 minutes every day until late in the evening.
I found some info on them that they are a septic tank scam but I cant say for sure.
And they never leave a message nor is there a person on the line.
They call every day...I let it go to answering machine; they hang up! Annoying, but don't answer any I don't know!
The number is Chase Home Finance. However, it is the department that tries to sell you home equity loans, credit cards, and refinancing on your current mortgage. They are my mortgage company, but this number is their telemarketing division. At least that's what they said when I called them.
I called the number back and I get a recorded message that I have been contacted for research or a sales call.
capital one credit card services
A lady called identifying herself as being with Discover. She wanted to enroll me in
the program that supplies you with your credit report, monitors your reports daily and
protects you from identity theft. I challenged her because my caller ID showed Unknown
She stammered and said that Discover routes the calls through another server????? Then I asked her why she was trying to sell me something that I already had. She stated that
my name must just be on a list and she asked me how long I had had the protection and when I told her "forever" she responded, "Well I "AIN'T" asking you not personal information or nothing like that." I told her that I was hanging up to call Discover myself which I did. 11/12/07 1:59pm
called twice within 2 hours
Forgot to mention, I sent the following letter (cerified, return-receipt requested):
To: Capital One Financial Corp
1680 Capital One Drive
McLean, Virginia, 22102
Re: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX (this is required)
Dear Sir / Madam:
1. The above account (earlier paid in full) was cancelled in writing by this author on or before 07/01/07. Your agency has since made numerous and repeated efforts to collect on the cancelled account (on which a renewal fee was placed without my authorization). Please be advised that you are hereby notified under provisions of Public Laws 104-208, also known as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, that your services are no longer desired.
2. You and your organization must CEASE & DESIST all attempts to collect the above debt. Failure to comply with this law will result in my immediately filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and the North Carolina Attorney General's office. I will pursue all criminal and civil claims against you and your company.
3. Let this letter also serve as your warning that I may utilize telephone recording devices in order to document any telephone conversations that we may have in the future.
4. Furthermore, if any negative information is placed on my credit bureau reports by your agency after receipt of this notice, this will cause me to file suit against you and your organization, both personally and corporately, to seek any and all legal remedies available to me by law.
Please give this matter the attention it deserves, and conduct yourselves accordingly.
"Been calling me daily BEFORE 6AM.
Super annoying. I have a Capital One card but it is fully paid off, so there's no reason they'd be calling me about collecting.
If it was legit, they'd leave a message."
Oh, it's legit Cap1, all righty. I paid up and cancelled my card in writing months ago; they then charged me a renewal fee (?), and have been barraging my home with calls since. Gawd, as a former collector, I LIVE for the day when they call me before 8AM or after 9PM, violating FDCPA. (The autodialer calling constantly, several times a day, may not be a good enough factor, depending on the state; the time frame IS, and can be proven both by caller i/d info and phone records.) I'd like to know if class actions have been undertaken by anyone on either the frequency or timeframe issues. A good attorney could make a bundle.
Caller is a telemarketing firm for Discover Card. We have informed them not to call but they continue to do so. Their method is to call and hang up if you don't answer immediately.
I'm getting beyond annoyed with this caller! They call my house so much and always hang up! Tonight they called my house around 9:10 PM...I'm getting sick of this!
I'm a teenager without a capitol one card ... or any cards or credit for that matter and I am receiving the calls on my cell.
I usually ignore this number but today, I answered. They said that they were calling on behalf of Discover and wanted to give me free credit reports to look over for any discrepancies. Along with that, they will enroll me in Discovers identity fraud protection plan. The first month is free and after that, it's 10.95....A MONTH!!! The women wouldn't take "no" for an answer so I had to be rude and hang up. DO NOT ANSWER THIS NUMBER!!!
These people call me 3 times per day all week long at work. It's the same recorded message from GROA Inc about trying to sell me grant money and loans.
Received a call from 919-416-4262 at 10 pm. The caller ID showed: JL Walston & Ass.
The name is appropriated.
On their website" "Collections Specialists Since 1969". That's 38 years of harassing phone calls to people they don't know. Perhaps we should sue them.
calls repeatedly very early in the morning and in the evening.
The woman who called knew my name. As soon as I identified myself, she dropped the call. This happens almost everyday, and it's awfully annoying.
We don't answer, but they've called twice in the past hour. They are calling several times a day, but don't leave a message.
they never leave a message
never had nor will i ever have a home depot account, which they said it was regarding when i called.
o. forgot to mention that they called me about 2 weeks before my due date// as a "courtesy call" to remind me to pay my bill. When I pay them off ... I will never ever give them my business~~~ they are driving me crazy!!!!!!!!! I am sick of the phone ringing~~~
This is Capitol One; I forgot to send in a payment. They called me 7 times in one day, but never left a message. They started early one morning till late at night. A few times when I did get to the phone,, no one was there... makes me soooo mad. So, when they were finally there... what did I do? I didn't answer them; paid them back for calling me so many times and not talking!
called 5-6 times. After i picked up i had a identity theft discover card prevention.
They have called 6 times in the last hour. I registered my complaint at donotcall.gov. HEre is their response:
The phone number 866-831-4847 was registered on October 09, 2007. Companies may call you for up to 31 days after that date. You may file a complaint if a company calls you after November 09, 2007.
Political pollster asking "if the election were held today..."
Unfortunately, politicians are exempt from the DNC rules.
You need to turn this number in to the National Do Not Call List. File a complaint and maybe if enough of us do this we will be able to stop this.

got the first call from thm today.
heavy indian accent.
It seems that everything from area code 702 is from the same idiots/jerks/low-life.
I just run right to www.donotcall.gov and report the calls. It's only a matter of time before they're arrested. [I hope]
Got called yesterday after a long period of not calling. Not as frequently as it used to be but still annoying. I let my phone go straight to voice mail and they either don't leave a message or simply say "thank you" for a message before hanging up. I let my bf answer the phone once and the speaker claimed to be from Capital One needing my information for some reason. This number has been showing up on my caller ID since the summer!
WAS PUT ON HOLD AS SOON AS I ANSWERED..I HUNG UP AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO
I get 5 calls a day 7 days a week. Jeez!
Found information that this number 866-831-4847 was from one of Discover Cards outsourced telemarketing numbers. I called Discover Card directly
1-800-Discover and told them what was happening. I gave her the number and she verrified that it was theirs. She asked if I wanted off of their call list for special offers and I said YES She thanked me for being a discover card customer and I said we will see if I still am in a few days. They said it will take a few days to go into effect. I also mistakenly told her 888-891-4748 first and she also verrified that as one of their numbers.
I just looked on a phone that we don't use and it had stored incoming calls from this number as 42. Sometimes they call right back one minute after getting my machine. I decided to answer. Same as others dead air and clicking. I have been told that marketers get paid for completed calls and that all they need for a completed call is a hello. So don't say anything. Called number back same as others sales and marketing research message and call ends.
DI didnt answer.
they didnt leave msg.
I called them back later and a quick message says "you have been contacted for market research or a sales call"
That call is from Discover card, I told them not to call anymore
It is funny how they call our house about 5 times a day. According to the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collections Practices Act)they are only allowed to call your home 1 time a week 1 time a day otherwise it constitutes as harrassment and you can file a law suit against them. That only applies if you pick up the phone. If they are not on the other end that is their problem not yours. Also if you actually speak to someone and they speak to you in an abusive, harrassing, obscene, or violent manner you may also sue them. They must also identify themselves when you answer the phone, if they do not it is misrepresentation, which is also a violation of the act. There are many things a company trying to collect a debt cannot do and what Capitol One has been doing is against the FDCPA.
This number has called my cell phone everyday for the past week at different times of the day.
They get the machine and hang up.
same thing. i get 4-5 calls a day from this #. if i pick up to talk nobody is there. no computer. nothing. so i answer & hang up. they still call.
They have been trying for a while but not leaving any messages. Who are they?

Receive several calls a day from these jerks. I zap them with Phone Tray Free - it denies access and plays a VERY irritating alarm in their ear piece.
While a scam seems likely, here's a thought: for those of us who don't have CapitalOne accounts, a previous owner of your phone number might have one.
calls 4 to 7 timees a day for the last week
Caller identified herself as "Debbie" and identified herself as with someone but she spoke so fast and their was so much noise in the background that I couldn't understand her. I asked her to repeat who she was with and she hung up.
called 10/16/07. I answered, no one said anything to me. I repeated "hello? hello?", then put the phone on mute to see if I could hear them talk or say something while they thought I hung up...they just hung up then.
recived a phone call thats howed up on the caller ID as from Kingsport, Tn - when i returne dteh call uit was automated. So I Just hung up
I got a call from this number today. Discover Card trying to sell Identity Theft Protection
This is a legitimate #. I have a capital one card and I am behind on payments. Not sure why they have to keep calling 3,4,5 times a day but whatever it's my fault, I owe them money. Crazy how life can be fine one minute and the next you're trying to decide which bills you can "delay" to cover others.
I'm glad there are web sites like this so I can find out who else are getting these calls. I just received a call from this number and they hung up, as well. The next time I see this number, I will make sure not to pick the phone up.
We've been getting a call from this number almost everyday now. Will not leave any message. I'm not sure what exactly they want.
I just dont answer any of these when they show up on caller id
I received several calls from this number, the caller never leaving a message, so i called it back. It rang and no one answered. Then, receiving the 3rd or 4th call in a week, I finally picked up the live call and the person on the other end, after a long pause, asked in a very strange voice for "Thomas."
I told him he was dialing the wrong number and hung up immediately. Then i tried the number again and it said it was Capital One. This was highly unusual, as Capital One ALWAYS leaves a message if they are trying to contact me for any reason.
As I am a Capital One customer, this made me uncomfortable, so I immediately called customer service and billing to see if my accounts are current (i could see online that they were, but you never know).
I was on the phone with 4 separate representatives from Billing to Fraud and spent a half hour on the phone with Capital one trying to find out what is going on.
Every department said my accounts are fine, and they said they were not trying to contact me for any reason. Then i got another call today, from the same exact number! So I took the advice of someone on this forum and filed a complaint with the FCC.
I am suspicious of the people on these forums that say that "you should just go ahead and pay your bill!" You should only pay your bill through a secure method that you have already established. People posting nasty fear-mongering messages about paying bills may very well be perpetrators of the hoax!
When you're on DO NOT CALL list, it's for telemarketing, NOT bill collectors. Bill collectors will call rather you on the do not call list or not.
They call my office looking for someone who owes them money for Home Depot.
I've been getting about 4-5 calls/day from this number for at least a month now. They never leave a message and hang up if we answer. I reported this today.. so annoying!
Recording - calls 4 or 5 times a day - I ignore it now
They are doing political surveys for the Democrat Party. Funny, my state Delegate gives me the impression of being really slimey -- YES I HAVE spoken with him several times.
The Democrat Party called to ask if I thought he could be trusted. HECK, NO!
I don't answer calls marked private, out of area, or are from toll-free exchanges. My
They left no message, and when I called I got a recording "you were contacted for marketing research or a sales call."
I have blocked them. Forever all they will get when they call is a busy signal.
They just won't stop calling. Every day 3,4,5,etc. times a day. Once I answered and a recording came on telling me to hold for a call from that number!!! I just HATE IT!!11
2 calls in 5 minutes and it's early in the day. we expect several more before the day is out.don't answer it pretty simple fix.don't you think?
Calling once a day I have been at work not able to call back
calls then when there is no answer they leave no message and will call back another 5-8 times that day
GROA, Inc. - no message, didn't answer.
They called 17 times in two weeks, never leaving a message. I picked up the phone five times trying to speak to them, but they always hung up on me until today. A woman told me her name was 'Amy Ducker' and she was calling from HSBC Bank to offer me a credit card. She asked for me under my married name, which is very strange because I never use this name. She referred me back to the same number 8884661258 for customer service. She told me they would remove my number and add me to their do not call list. I hope that happens.
I'm about to throw my cellphone out the goddamn window. Some dickweed named Alan used to have this number, and apparently a LOT of people want to contact this guy. It just doesn't stop...every day, I get calls for Alan. I guess I need to have my fucking number changed, because telling these people and others OVER and OVER that Alan no longer has this number does nothing. Fuck, I hate cellphones!!!
We've been getting this call for WEEKS. We NEVER answer unidentified calls. Has slacked off to about twice a day now. In this day and age of computers and highly sophisticated equipment it is unbelievable that this company has yet to be identified. WHO is this company? Who is masking it's identity, and why?
call every day 2x3 times
"you've been contacted for marketing research or a sales call." looped twice, then disconnected.
It's for a card.
A woman called me from this number and asked my wife for me by name. When my wife said I was at work she said she would call back. Can not find any info on who the number belongs to.
Every day, sometimes multiple times per day.
Never leaves a message.
call and immediately hang up on my cell, only rings ling enough to show caller id then hangs up. it is capital one but why? they leave a message that is cut off about every 10th call, usually get about 8 calls a day
Calling 3-4 times a day, day after day. Never leave message.
Anything anyone can do will be greatly welcome.
get same call everyday. several days. no info as to ref. i'm not on a cal list.
Obviously a scam. Don't ever give someone who calls you your account number(s) or social security number. It is easy for con men to fake caller ID numbers, so calling back this number and getting a bona fide call center proves nothing. When in doubt, hang up and call the number on the back of your card.
Calls about 8 times a day. Quite annoying. I dont even have capital one, but according to this number I do.
The caller asked to speak with my wife. I asked who he was. "Patrick," he said. I asked who he was with, and he hung up.
Calls 2-3 times a day, leaves no message, and when I do answer know one is there.
They get charged every time someone calls them. I say call even if you don't get to talk to anyone.
These people have been calling several times a day for weeks. Thanks to "Stuffy" I have used their (Chase's) Opt Out feature at 1-800-945-9470. It takes 30 days to process. Hope this will help someone else. I know the calls are very annoying.
Same as everyone else, Same message when calling back the number.
calls at random hours always asking for ryan and i say wrong number pal, ok so your not ryan? i told them this happens like 5 times a week and that it better not happen again. ive only gotten one call since then.
Called me 9 times this past week in SoCal and did not leave a message.
4-5 times a day..don't even have a capital one account!!!!Annoying..
No message left, but calls all during the day, and everyday. I dont answer the phone on this number because they have called so many times.
SIMPLE SCAM - IF they are LEGIT and are from Cap-1, then they have your info right in front of them - they obviously do not have said CC number, and want you to provide it. If you do, you are the FOOL, not them!
We continously receive calls from this 800 number. My husband has answered the phone, but the individual has hung up upon answering.
These people call all the time but there is nobody that answers in the other end.
These people have called here 3x's so far today and it is only 12:30 pm on a Saturday. Grrrr.
They have been calling me almost every day since August 22nd. I just moved and got a new phone number which is unlisted, and signed up for the do not call list. I have told them at least 3 times to stop calling. I called them on the 4th and told them to take my number off their list, and they told me "We are calling you to try to get you or someone in your household to sign up for a credit card." I told them I am not interested. They stopped calling until the 13th and now they are calling again 3 times a day. They even called me today, SATURDAY at 11:15 AM when I was trying to sleep!
It must be some sort of religious practice to call my number at least 3 to 4 times a week.
Why must I live this hell they call a life?
recieved call from this number id'd as Unavailable and number as 888-466-1258 asking for my first initial and last name which i am not giving here.....
its a credit card company..
This number has been calling our fax line everyday for 3 months at different times of the day. Our caller ID says toll free call.
they called and verifed my name and then hung up when I said yes this is me...
I called back and they said - "you have been contacted for marketing research or a sales call."
Its the Capital One collection group. I answered the first time they called a few months ago when I first missed a payment...
It's CitiCorp, for Home Depot
calls in the early am and ALL DAY LONG with no message left.
If you call this number back it's the capital one collection agency informing you of any over draws made and how much you owe them. You will have to input your credit card number but it is a legit number. I don't know why they don't leave a message. Probably because its an automated system that auto dials the numbers put into its system.
This is a legit number, its capital one collections. if theyre calling you then they at least think you have a past due balance, if you don't then just answer and tell them they have the wrong number.
Capital One called to verify identity information cause I applied for a card with them.
I call back now and it is an automated machine telling me my credit balance and available credit. Both of which were correct, so it should be legit Capital One.
I answered and they went right into asking survey questions about the upcoming democratic election.
They called me, the phone rang and rang until they hung up then called back immediately. This happened 3 times so I answered and asked for me. They pronounced my name wrong so I said, "May I tell him whos calling?" She said, "Ok thanks!" and hung up. I called them back and got the next operator. I said, "Is this HSBC?" He said, "yes, we are...." "Ok thanks!" and I hung up.
You can be REMOVED from their call list by calling RDI Marketing Services (rdimarketing.com) directly at: 513.984.5927.
Their main number is: 800.388.7636
Citi card, collection agenccy...Home Depot in my case. No message but upon a return call from a different phone number....we even made arrangements with them!
Screw the azzholes!
I am on the Do Not Call list. The call came up unknown on my caller ID. I did not answer the call
This number called me on 9/10/2007 at 11 am. Machine picked up; no message was left. Showed on caller ID as "800 Service". I called the number back and got this recording: "You have been contacted for market research or a sales call." It just loops; the number is outgoing only.
I called and it's HSBC wanting to offer credit card.
Same as everyone else: several calls a day, which started sometime last week. No one on the other end if I answer, and no message left if I don't.
calling several times a day, never leave message!
calls 3 or 4 times a day. wants my credit card number from capital one and i don't have a captial one credit card.
lots of calls from them, never picked up. Check out this website on them:
I had recieved two calls so I called the number back. They just said that someone opened a Home Depot account using my phone numbers. He took my number off their account.
This is Citibank collections department. They hold the charge accounts for Home Depot and other retail stores. They use outdated phone numbers from original credit application forms years ago. Their automatic dialer will hang up on you if you answer and there is no employee available at that exact time. Call your local Citibank branch and put them to work getting you an 800 number to get off their auto-dialer. e.g. To get off Home Depot's Citibank auto-dialer, call (800)677-0232 and when it prompts for your credit card number, press zero each time. Don't you pay the long distance charges that they want you to pay by calling the number on the Caller-ID, because they will put you into a recorder and into a wait cue for a LONG time - at your expense!
Getting 2-3 calls a day, will not leave a message on machine.
2 or 3 calls in two days. I don't answer, due to lack of caller I.D. Two calls hung up when answering machine picked up. One left a message of a call being made followed by the operator message saying "If you'd like to make a call, please hang up and dial again."
This number shows on my cell phone, no answer.
It's HSBC bank. Supposedly a "courtesy call".
THIS # CALLS MANY TIMES A DAY. STARTED THE WK OF 8/27/07..A REAL PAIN...I NEVER ANSWER...
Just call 800-955-7070 its Cap ones customer service (you may have to hold a bit) They took me off their lists
They call 4 to 5 times per day and do not leave a message. I reported them to the donotcall.gov/Complain/
They call every day, multiple times.
They called once, we didn't answer, haven't called back since.
asked if i was home I said who's this and they hung up
This number has called for weeks on end. I finally called back and got through to an Indian person and stated that I was a customer already and quite happy with my current product and could they please remove me from their call list. He was very nice and took down my number and agreed to do so...so we shall see.....
I AM A CARD HOLDER AND THEY CONSTIANLY CALL ME AND I DONT ASNWER IT AND WHEN I DO I SAY HELLO AND NO ONE ANSWERS OR I SCREAM IN THE PHONE AND HUNG UP. MYBE THATS WHY NO ONE ANSWERS ANYMORE. I HAVE CALLED THE NUMBER BACK AND IT IS C1. THEIR JUST SO FUCKING IMPANCAINT AND WANT THEIR MONEY BUT YES CALLS BEFORE 6AM IS BULLSHIT. I NOW PAY FOR CALL INTERCEPT WITCH HAS ALL OF C1 NUMBERS NOW BLOCKED AND IF THEY GET MORE THEN MORE WILL BE BLOCKED. DUMBASSES
This is HSBC Bank, with a credit card offer. They are relentless. Two, three, even four times a day they call.
Been calling me daily BEFORE 6AM.
Super annoying. I have a Capital One card but it is fully paid off, so there's no reason they'd be calling me about collecting.
If it was legit, they'd leave a message.
I was getting these calls twice daily for ten days. I finally answered one and some guy asked for April.
I had a Capitol One card that I NEVER used, and cancelled. So, I had NO bill and they should NOT be calling me. Don't jump to idiot conclusions.
They will call ask for my name and then hang up. Super annoying.
Answered phone call, said that I was being updated from a 2006 "something" to the new 2007 version, then they hung up. Don't know if it is a scam or not. Ticked me off.
calls at least 3 to 4 times a day. filed a complaint with DNC registry as well as FTC.
Don't know who it was, but they called numerous times throughout the day, for nearly a week.
Called, hung up. Buncha jerks.
yeah i get 3 calls a day from this person. I hear if i call the police i can use a funtion called Calltrace an i have to call them immediately after they call me. Also They may be related to ER Solo Inc who also called me constantly Heres there number 2815293150. If your getting a call from both these people there the same person.
I received this call at my business, missed the call and tried back the number and got " you have been contacted for marketing research or a sales call
I've had a number of calls from this number. Leave no message & when I tried to call it back was told call could not be completed.
This number calls me all the freakin time.. They asked for me and I tell them she is not here. Then they say when is a good time to reach her I say early early morning... If I wanted something I'd call them why are they calling me. why do ppl do this...
Never a message, 4 to 6 calls a day.
They keep calling for Ms> --------- with an Indian accent. I tell them she is not here and they say they will call back. Some kind of financial thing.
They ask for someone who doesn't even live here. Told them that, but they still continue to call.
They call several times day and night. They don't understand no.
These people don't give up!
Telemarketing calls. When you call the number back, it says that you have been selected for a sales or marketing call. A clear violation of the do not call reg.
Time to report again!
I also get hang ups from this number. I called the number back and it said, "you have been contacted for marketing research or a sales call."
Of course when you call the number, you get "this number is no longer in sercice"
This number is Capital One's Security Department. I tried to make a purchase and the charge was "voided". Card is paid up and the balance easily covered the purchase. I scratched my head and used another card. When I got back to the office there was an email from Vonage letting me know I had a new voicemail from 8009556600. Seems the purchase didn't fit my profile so they denied it. Apparently I missed the memo where I'm supposed to tell them what I want to buy before I go to the store to buy it. >:-
Calls every day.
They hung up as soon as I picked up
I get 4-5 calls from this number with out any info and announcement after I pick up the call. I have stopped doing it when I get calls from this number.
I got 2 phone calls from this number today. The didn't leave a message but I called back and got through to someone who said it was for Citibank/Home Depot credit card. I told him I didn't have one and he said he'd transfer me to customer service to have my # taken off. The next person picked up and asked why I was transferred. I told him they called me and I didn't have their credit card. He asked if I was married or knew anyone who had one and may have put me as a secondary card user. I told him no, my father has one but I am not a user on it. He asked for my # and then told me nothing comes up under it. He then asked for my father's number. I gave it to him and he said that my dad was the only user on that account. He then asked for my complete social security number. I told him I wasn't comfortable sharing that information and he told me I should check my credit report b/c someone may have put my number as their contact info or some shit. I check it tonight and I don't have anything showing up under citibank or home depot or any of those fucking stores the guy mentioned. I will be calling Home Depot corporate offices tomorrow to verify. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!!!
I informed these people to never call me again. I told them I would report them to the FTC and the CT State Dept. of Banking, and I will. They wanted to record the call which is illegal in my state without consent.
don't answer them. I have a VOIP service, so I lock this #
Have a Capitol One card up to date never had a problem, RobertWV your assumption is off base.
Called everyday 2-3 times a day. Very annoying.
didn;t answer and they didn;t leave message. Obviously not worth my time
This is a So Called Credit Card offer from HSBC \ Orchard Bank. The Called is based in India, and is reading from a Script. I asked from my details to be removed from their contact list and they informed me this is NOT possible as I am a "HSBC Valued Member" (So remove my name from your call list)
Why answer the calls ? We have a weapon. Its called caller ID. Turn down the phone. Only answer #'s you know. After awhile they will give up.
This number calls almost everyday. Great thing is all you need is caller ID and let the Indian idiots call !! Sorry Stixx and Robert WV or Gupta or Bharat or whoever !!
HSBC is Orchard Bank, Number on my caller ID daily.
I am on the do-not-call list.
Our business gets about 4 to 5 calls a day if not more from this number. However, when we answer all they do is hang up. Very annoying
Received several phone cals from this number, when I answered they hung up. I am on do not call registry.
Number called-didn't leave any message
calls everyday- caler id- unknown- doesnt leave any message
They said they were Cap One the one time I answered. Two other numbers call soon after.
I owe no one, my adult son does.
told not to call this no. anymore, now they call all day long,I let the phone ring.
3rd call from them - so far
have been called 2 and 3 times a day. getting tired of it
How do I get these people to stop calling?????
God I hate these people.
I got a call from this same number. They asked for my husband and when I asked to take a message, they refused and said it was a business call. No name or name of business was given.
This munber calls my house at least 5 times a day and no one on the other end.
I have been receiving calls from this number over and over. I called Capital One and it is a number for their collections agency. I do not have an account with them. It turns out that the person who had our number before, almost two years ago, is delq. I would suggest the people that do not have cards to call the company and make sure you ID hasn't been stolen. They will ask for you SSN but do not give it to them. They can look up your phone number and check that way.
stixx & Robert W, shut the fuck up!!
stixx & Robert W are indeed the same person.....he is a plant for Capital One always defending the company. Capital One's credit policies of charging fees purposely will make you fail. Good people sometimes go through hardships in life, not everyone is a deadbeat as stixx & Robert W claim.
Someone on here suggested to ad yourself to the no call list...well if you do read this statement carefully: Once you have registered, your phone number registration will be effective for 5 years. It will be illegal for MOST telemarketers to call you, and you will be able to file a complaint if a telemarketer does call you. The website www.donotcall.gov provides information about filing a complaint.
MOST telemarketers, it doesn't save you from ALL telemarketers. What is the point? ERRRRRRRR My phone only rings with people I know now it rings with two lame 800 telemarketing numbers.
This number started calling me two days ago. It calls a couple times a day. Today it wouldn't connect me to someone. I called it back, it states on the recording there hours of operation and days. Funny how Saturday no one is in but the automated system still calls you. It disconnected me after it stated the hours. We have used HSBC before for a loan and this is the first time they started to bug us with a credit card offer.
This number called me this morning and I answered to tell them to stop calling. It said hold the line please(a computer voice) then it kept saying that until finally it said sorry it couldn't connect me and then my call was disconnected.
Stixx and Robert VW are the same guy. I don't have a credit card and I just got this cell phone less than 14 hours ago (pay as you go wal*mart special). There's no way this is related to anything legit, considering no one has my phone number! All in all, if you've a debt that needs to be paid, call the number on your bill. If someone calls you, don't give them any information what-so-ever. With the name, CC # and experation date, they can buy things online and you end up with the bill... then you really will get collection calls lol. Never give this information to random numbers. This cell phone number didn't even exist until I registered it last night and I had to be to work at 4am, so how a company would be able to get this number and call me regarding a collection issue, BEFORE MOST PEOPLE ARE EVEN AWAKE! Let alone without even a single business day gone by, is silly. There is no way that this is legit, anyone that happens to post otherwise is another scammer.
called several times although we are on the national "do not call" registry. did not talk, just hung up, and number would not accept call back
Calls are received several times a day but hangs up when I answer.
Yesterday after receiving yet another call from this number I called the FTC customer help line yesterday to complain about how often this number calls and that no one is ever on the other end. They took my complaint but I don't know if they will do anything about it.
Also, the other day I was searching online and found recordings of different phone company error messages. So I copied the message you get when a phone number has been disconnected. When this number called yesterday I picked up the phone and played a recorded version of the disconnect phone message and then hung up. So far they haven't called back.
I have been receiving this call periodically. I never picked up since it is unknown
These are collections calls for overdue and late payments on Cap one credit cards.
Pay the bill and the calls stop...Simple isnt it......
They call every single day. The number I was to call back is 888-310-1514. Now that I have confirmed that it's Chase, and they only want me to re-fi, I definitely will write them to be removed from their stupid call list. What a pain!
I am so tired of this. I do not answer. There is NO reason for Capital One to be calling me 7-8-9 or more times a day.
you rock dr. demento...
JESUS TAP-DANCING CHRIST, I HATE 1-800-955-6600!!!
when they call use a very loud air horn directly into the phone. They will get the message and tinnitus.
Numerous, frequent calls daily (up to 13, from 8:30 am to 9:45 pm; once called 3X in 15 minutes). No messages. Ever. Picked up a few times--caller hung up.
This number has been calling everyday for the past 3 months, even Sat and Sundays, sometimes more than once! I never answer and no message is left on the answering machine. How can this be stopped???
if you are on the Do not call list, you can file a complaint with the FTC and hopefully there is power in numbers: www.donotcall.gov
A woman gave her name as "Mary Murphy", and said she was calling all AFL-CIO members. I asked if I could take a message, and then she hung up.
received call and Saturday and caller left message not to call her back on Saturdays --- hmmmmmm
Called 10:00am on Saturday, Man I need some sleep!
Calls 3 or more times a day, including weekends. No name or message.
they call asking for me every *@#! time
These morons call 3 times a day for the last 3 weeks. One message left about Citicard/Home Depot. I have neither card. Say it is not a sales call.
How do we stop these jerks??? Certainly not a do not call list!
The person on the other end would not tell me who she was after asking for people I did not know. She hung up after I told her I did not know the individuals she was asking for.
Call to this # identified it as Capitol One. Asked me to enter 16 digit card #. When I finally got hold of a human, could not adequately explain why they would have called and left no message.
They've called several times in the last week. Never leave a msg. Tonight I answered and they asked for me by name. I told them I wasn't here and asked if I could take a message. The caller said NO! and hung up.
I called them back and said I've give them one try to get my name off the calling list before I called the state's Attorney General. Raymone was very pleasant and told me it may take a few days, but my number would be put on their "Do not call" list.
I was very annoyed because I finally was home when they called and they asked for my husband. I told them he wasn't available but could I help them and they hung up on me before I got any of it out.
Fuck these telemarketing motherfuckers!
I get calls just about everyday from this phone number. No message, just "dead air" and then a hangup when I have tried to tell whomever is calling to quit calling. This very annoying!!!
Called just a few minutes ago, answering machine picked up but left no message
I've received 23 calls this month. In TEXAS, it is against the law to harass folks via telephone. I have contacted my local county attorney and asked them to consider filing this criminal complaint against the company. I have recorded rude, obnoxious behavior, and hope to set a precedent here. Wish me luck.
Here is the section of the statute I am using: "Causes the telephone of another to ring repeatedly or makes repeated telephone communications anonymously or in a manner reasonably likely to harass, ANNOY, alarm, abuse, torment, embarrass, or offend another."
Almost daily calls. I just scrolled this comments list and found several good suggestion for stopping the calls. Thanks for this service.
Got a call from this #. Didn't answer "out of area"
call said "unavailable".No one was on line.wassup wit dat?
This can't be a bill collector. My bill isn't due until August 8th. Has to be a scam. It's not the number on my card so I don't deal with them.
It's Capitol One's in-house debt collection number. If you fell behind on the payments like I did unfortunately, this number can also rout you to their slimy 3rd party collection agency (GC Services) to collect the payment. GC Services will lie to say they are a "Pre-Legal Department" for Cap One. As most educated consumers that understand the collection laws, we all know it is a flat out lie. I sent those slimy bastards a C&D letter certified. Remember, never agree unless you have it in writing. Also visit www.budhibbs.com to understand on how slimy 3rd party debt collectors will do anything to separate you from your hard earned $$$.
This is way beyond ridiculous! I have received, up until 15 seconds ago, 18 calls since 7:30AM this Sunday Morning. I am not dodging them, I have answered them each and every time and told them that they were mistaken. I even called the Capitol One customer service number and they tell me that there is nothing they can do, as the collectors are set up on auto-dialers somewhere in Virginia.
When these low-life people call they refuse to give their name or the actual company they work for. The number is 1-800-955-6600 and I got one person to give the term ANI. This is a clear violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practice Act, not the mention that under the Texas Penal Code, Section 42.07 (4), the caller could be prosecuted criminally.
I work for a law firm and I really would like information about these people, if anyone knows. Since they refuse to disclose the information, which by the way IS ANOTHER violation of the FDCPA. Would love to sick the AG on these people and possibly even file a Plaintiff's Original Petition against them!!!!
Too many unk. calls from this #
the 7193# called agian, asked for my daughter something about her eye glasses,i told her i would let her know and asked for a # for her to call back, the girl on the other end said she would call back later, hmmm i *69 the number it was the 7193 #
Everyday from last 2 months I saw miss call from this number , today I was at home ans picked the call, all they said is may i speak to jit, I said speaking, and he hung up without saying anything.
I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize, but it is awfully annoying when they call so much.
I've been called about 3 times a day for the last month by this number. The few times I answer, no one is there.
"Hello this is John from NSBA." Same call we've been getting at work for years- new caller ID (spoofed, I assume).
calls 3-4 times a day
Computer generated call when answered told to wait for a very important call. The call was a Sunday evening!
no one talked..sounded like whom ever was in a bar.
Obviously a phone solicitor. Told them to take my name off their list before they even got started... And my number is supposed to be on the National do not call list??????? Can't anyone do anything about them?
10 calls or more a day,
starting at 7 am until 9:30 at night.
I just got a brand new cell phone from T-Mobile and I have been called 3 times in 2 days. I will bad mouth Cap One til the end of time just because of this.
Don't own a C1 card. Never give out ss# , banking info to someone calling you. Always call your credit card company with number provided on card. There are ways to spoof a real number, you may think you are talking to real company but it could be a scamer who will rob you of your money.
A constant pester. I do not answer and the phone stops ringing after three rings. I presume that's so that the answering machine won't pick up. A nuisance.
I just star 67'd the number and a recording states I have been contacted for a marketing survey or sales call. Anytime I have tried to answer, there is noone on the other end so I hang up. I don't know how they stay in business if they don't speak to anyone
Received 8 calls from this number in the past 11 days, but I haven't picked it up. My outgoing voicemail message has the "error" ring tone as the first thing you hear, so hopefully this will knock my number off their list.
Very persistant- I don't answer it either, but they have called 4 times in 24 hours.
They have called me 5 times today and each time there is nobody on the other end. dear tgod.l
I'm just another person on the list. Who ever assigns 888 numbers knows who this is and allows it. It seems to me there are enough complaints to seek action against the 888 people who assigned this number and allow the committed offense to continue.
I have received several phone calls from this number but no message. Whoever it is has called at least 2 times a day for a few weeks.
They call daily and never leave a message. On weekend, they like to call at least twice and unusually very early in the morning.
Robert WV has a huge oustanding balance and he is ASSUMIMG what he has reported/
The number calls daily and no one is on the line it hangs up after 30 seconds.
calis are recieved 4 or 5 times a day starting at 9 am 7 days a week they ask for my daughter and wont leave a message or say who they are
Robert WV seems to be correct. I have a capital one card, didn't pay on time, and they called me with this number.
I'm not sure why they are calling those of you who don't have the card. Doesn't appear to be a scam.
they called and asked if someone in my household was available, i told them "no, can i take a message?" they replied, "its too confidential for you to know" click!
I keep getting calls from this number 5 to 6 times a day. I don't own a Capital One card and have no intension of getting one. Robert WV I personally don't know what you are talking about.
I just started getting these calls this week. While I'm glad this web page is here and documenting so many people as disgusted as I am, I am even more frustrated to see that this has been going on for over a year. If the company is known (even keeping the same number) and being reported, why can't anyone do something about this?
Unknown. No one there
no one there..says toll free call on id..so far they've called twice in 30 mins.
oops...that is FTC.Gov to report an unsolicited caller--plus donotcall.gov, which is a do not call registry where you can file an official complaint
left music voicemail...only nothing else...uses up my minutes...plan to report to FCC.gov
I get home from work and my caller ID has at least 6 missed calls from this number everyday!! They never leave a message and the calls continue several times before I get mad and unplug my phone.
This number called my boyfriends phone leaving an auto message from capital 1 several times a day for a long time on his cell phone. He has a capital 1 card, but his payment is current. He would call back and they couldn't figure why they would be calling him (his account was fine). I had even gone to great lengths complaining, reporting it to C1's fraud department, etc.
So, the other day, he yet again called the number, bypassing entering his account #. Finally - the guy asked if he knew a "mr. John Doe". Evidently his brother had used his number as a primary contact#!!!!!!!!!
So, perhaps check into that. Just tell them not to call, it is Capital One.
Those of you who are saying that its because we have a past-due balance are not correct. I have no past due balance, although there have been several times when they wrongfully charged me for one.
Calls received 3-4 times per day, no message left, for the last two weeks.
5 times a day .No one on phone
If you dont own a credit card but they are calling your number and your name this is called a "RED FLAG PEOPLE" possibly Ident Theft check your credit history!
It is the Capital One collection department. Don't answer! :-)
Yes, I did a little research on American Homeless Veterans and Kids Wish Network -- they're scam organizations keeping most of the money for themselves.
out of area
Called and asked for head female of the household.
calls have been coming in for over 2 months. I answered the phone this morning 6/24 at 8:24 am. Someone finally answered. Told me I have an outstanding balance from November. My Account was paid in full December 06.
it was an autodialer but I waited anyway. The rep came on asking for me by name, I gave a noncommital response in my "senile old man" voice. She went on with a rapid fire pitch for a "preapproved" credit card, at the end of which I simply asked "who'r ye callin' fer agin?" Then she started getting abusive: "You stated that you were Mr...." "Nooo, no Mister.... here." One very pissed off telemarketer then fired off some letters and numbers for her supervisor's benefit and angrily hung up.
I just added this number to my block list. They just get a contstant busy when they call me now.
Sunrocketdotcom is what I use for a phone service and there is no extra charge for this feature. $200 a year and I am really loving them!!! I have blocked many numbers for free.
This is from Capitol One collections. It's unprofessional, yes -- but it's them.
If you don't have a Capitol One account, then they have the wrong number in their database and they don't know any better. Call back, press # and explain to them that they have the incorrect number. To be honest though, as someone who works in collections, I know that often the wrong number may be re-entered into their system later.
Capitol One is very clear about how they handle negligent accounts in their policies. I'm not here to say who is or isn't responsible -- I have an over-due balance and receive the calls as well.
If you call their call center back, you may also find that their representatives aren't the brightest, most with-it you'll ever deal with as well. A few months ago, when I called to split my balance in half with two post-dated checks, I had a very hard time trying to accomplish just that!
Next time they call and you want to answer, pick it up and have a little fun with them, try to sell them something they don't need. At least try to have a little fun with them rather than get aggrivated.
You have been contacted for a marketing or research call... Is the message I received when I called their 800 number because I have been receiving 2 to 3 calls a day from them... Which I have been ignoring.
6-7 xs a day
CALLS 3-5 TIMES DAILY, 7 DAYS A WEEK
I got same problem like everybody else on my cell phone. Call w/o answer. Many times a week. When I tried to call back, it sounds like a fax machine. So annoying! Lately I stop answering that call, but somebody gotta do something about this scam. Thanks.
I get calls from this number on my cell phone several times a day every weekday. i have never made a late payment in my life and don't own a capital one card. it says its a data number and i can't even answer it. i've had fax machines call me before and have answered only to get a machine, but my cell will only let me send a busy tone to this number and says it can't answer data calls. this is really annoying me. the ringtone is a text ringtone too not a normal call tone. i've been putting up with it off and on for months. anyone have any thoughts besides scam artists for capital one?
If you answer your phone and there is silence, it does'nt meal they are hanging up. It's because they dial five or six numbers all at once, and when one caller answers, it cancels out the other calls, so there is silence. If you answer and don't get a response in two seconds, hang up.
This number calls at least twice a day. 19 times over a five day period last week while I was onm vacation. Even on Sat and Sun !!!
They called and siad I was $160.00 over due and had to pay now, not online. My account was acctualy $60.00 overdue. Were they trying to make $100.00 off of me? Sounds like it. I knew once things go to dept it is open for many companies to take over C1 debts. That must have been their fee. It is always cheaper and safer to pay directly to c1 if you still can.
We have been recieving unsolicited calls from this number
I got the call too, I get it every day a couple times a day. It's HSBC calling to offer a credit card. It's quite annoying. You can tell them to not call you, and they still do.
I've been getting this call 3x a day for the last week. It's getting a little ridiculous. I usually don't answer unknown numbers, but after seeing this I might just to say WTF? I do have a Capital One card; however, I am NOT late on payments.
If anybody out there works for the phone company and can trace their location, either clip their wires or send them some unordered pizzas, anything to stop them ( consider anth4x-just kidding, hom3land s3curity )
i get call from this number 3 or more times a day, nobody talks
unless your stupid...don't answer or just simply hang up this scam.
its 10am and I recieved 3 calls so far.
HSBC BANK USA
They keep calling in the earlier morning or late night. I use the relay because I have TDD(Telecommunication Device of the Deaf) equipment but they keep calling and calling. It drives me crazy. Like said " Not Provided". WHO????
This is Capital One. They call you if you are late on your credit card payments to remind you to pay.
They will not stop calling me. They now call right back right after I scream at them on the phone. This was almost 10 p.m.
it is Capitol One
they won't stop calling. i keep emailing them and telling them to stop.
Update: So far, NOTHING has worked to delouse myself of these pests, including blasting Nirvana, answering but not speaking, just placing the phone by the TV, or politely answering when they call and requesting they don't bother me again since I'm on the Do Not Call List. So far today, I've made that last request to them FIVE TIMES obviously to no avail.
My neighbor swears being sweet and polite has always worked for her.
Someone here suggested calling the back of the credit card and speaking to customer service, so that's my next move.
By the way, since going on the Do Not Call List I've been getting more calls from new numbers, including someone who speaks only German from some off-shore outfit.
During the day, it doesn't matter who calls because I'm usually not here to hear the phone. It's the early weekend morning calls that I find objectionable.
I'm wondering if the neo-Luddites have been right all along.
I get several calls a week from this number. It goes on my answering machine with no message.
Calls from this number everyday for the past week - sometimes twice a day. No one is there when I've answered. Filed a complaint with the Do Not Call Registry.
This number call me every day morning and night . I said to them I have recorded the conversation and file again them....bla bla bla... person hang me up.
Got a call from this number. They said my wife had won a prize and told her she had to visit their office downtown to reclaim it. My wife told them to email, of course to an email she uses for stuff like that, all the information. Weird.
Just called, I didn't feel like answering. They always call. At least I know the phone works.
I called the number back and asked nicely to have my number removed from solicitations.. the lady said they would. They are apparently selling lower mortgage rates, so you can also tell them "I'm a renter" or "I have a 2.0% 30 year mortgage" and they probably won't call back. I think. Either way, they are dirtbags.
They called and apologized for calling. We are a government agency. The guys voice was very pleasant though.
Robert WV is incorrect. I do not have a Capital One card. Obviously I do not have a past due bill. FYI, I am getting the calls on my cell.
How great is this Web site!
I have been getting calls from this number for about 2 weeks now. My husband has made the mistake of picking up a few times, but the person on the other end says nothing. I think this number is related to the other two calls I'm getting now: 801-270-5983 (Roger Neal) and 954-689-7681 (Arther Bailey).
this number calls several times a day everyday of the week including Sunday. Calls are received as early as 7:30 a.m. and as late as 10:00 p.m. very annoying
calls several times a day but never leaves a message
Every day i get calls from 'Toll Free' with this number and when i do pick up theirs no one on the phone
called three times from 5pm to 9pm est. 6/5/2007 Leaves no messages. Comes up out-of-area.
my phone rings, my caller ID shows this number, I answer the phone, nothing - no one there, nothing?
I dialed *67 (to block my phone number then the 800 number and it says "you have been contacted for marketing research or a sales call" Then it just keeps repeating sentence.
I called it and it plays a message saying, "You have been contacted for marketing research or a sales call."
Called me twice on June 1st 2007 asks for credit card #. I dont have a capital one card so then they ask for SS#. Dont give it has to be a fraud. Dialing 0 gets no operator.
This was Captial One collections calling. My payment was a few days late. They were friendly (albeit it was hard to understand him due to accent) and offered a free check-by-phone, which I took advantage of. He thanked me and was very polite.
I got a call from this number to my home phone while I was away. I tried to dial it and it says I was contacted for a research or sales call.
they call and ask for random names!!!!
same-calls all week long 3-4 times a day-somebody stop them-PLEASE!
They call many times a day... when I call back it is HSBC and message you get say they may be calling about a credit card offer to stay on the line if it is during business hours
Call 3 times a day. The Supervisor told me "there are loopholes around the Do Not Disturb list."
This is capital ones collections department. if you look at your statement the number is listed to call on your statement and is the same that is reported here.
been calling everyday for about 2 weeks. Internet answering machine always gets them, they never leave a message.
Calling couple of times every day for the last 3 weeks or so..even holidays, early hours and late hours - I never pick up and leave it to the voice machine, they never leave any msg...
I get calls from this number 2-3 times a day. They always hang-up when I answer. I wish I could get my hands around their necks.
got another call from a hindu fella asking for my wife. i just blurted out "whats up with the six armed elephant head chick you guys worship? is there a story behind her or you guys just smoking some good dope over there?" i dont know what he said but i could tell he wasnt happy. he actually hung up on me.
Only 91 calls into my Auto Attendant between 3/17-5/18/07, I also got 3 calls to one user, I'll have to check with them, but all calls are under 4 seconds...1 is 22 seconds.
I've gotten this number 3-4 times a day for the past month or so and no message left.
I'm glad I googled this number. I thought I was the only one who had this problem. This number keeps calling between 6-10 times a day. judging from the earliest comment, 6/20/06 this has been going on for far to long. I think by mid-may 2007 someone needs be 1.) fined, 2.)in jail or 3.) disconnected. Preferably all of the above.
who are these people....they keep calling and hang up when I answer?
These people call day and night calling themselves Discover Card.If an answering machine picks up the call, they dont leave a message.Discover Card should contact these scammers and shut the operation down.
OUTSOURCING!!!! That's what they do to keep Americans out of work. That's y we get all of the calls. I don't care how behind a person is on their bills there is no justifiable reason for Capital One or any other bill collector to call me at 3:05 am!!!! The cool thing for me is they left a message. And I recorded it and filed a complaint with the BBB, attorney general's office & sent them a cease and desist letter by certified mail. And after all of that, they still call me...Bad things happen to good people. There's no need to explain your personal situation to anyone. Good credit bad credit it doesn't matter it all equals DEBT, apparently we all have some type of debt rather it be house payment, car note, credit cards or etc. That's still not a reason for anyone to call you over 30 times a day regardless if, they leave a message or not. And never give your credit card number or social to anyone. I tell them you called me so you should already have all of my information. Kevin had some good advice. I'm just killing time until the next time Capital One calls me. O, and they will call. I cancelled my cc with them. I had been with Capital One for over five years. It was a sad death but someone had to do it....Good Luck to everyone...The way to stop the calls is to ensure Capital One and others they don't controll you is to cancel their cards at the first sight of harassment. This is too much to go through just to have a credit card. God bless you all.
Caller stated they were from a local radio station verifying information for a contest I had entered to win a Suburban. I confirmed my name when they first called because I was working and grabbed the phone without thinking.... But confirmed nothing else as I have entered no contests and it was a radio station I would not even be likely to listen to by accident.
This is the COLLECTIONS department of Capital One. Either you have a balance that is past due by >30 days or you need to call an Identity theft organization (www.comsumer.gov/idtheft). Either way TAKE ACTION. If you called Capital One, it is very likely that you did not reach their COLLECTIONS department and they will have no record of calling you. If you receive numerous calls it is because the auto dialer that is calling your number does not record a no answer as a successful call and will continue to re-dial until you answer. By the way, I did have a past due balance.
I have my number on no call list but I get about 3 calls per day. I tried answering once but they hung up. Last 2 weeks this has been going on.
Credit card offer
Calls several times a day and leaves no message.
I sent Capital One a cease & desist and they wrote me back saying they have never called me. This is one of their numbers.
When I called, I got HSBC Bank and my call was answered by a middle eastern man who offered me or a member of my household a credit card. I said no and he said thank you for calling and hung up. I called back and spoke to a female who recorded my number, verifed it and said I woudl be taken off the list~! We shall see!
When I called they said they were also HSBC..Someone in a Middle Eastern Accent asked me if I or someone in my household was interested in a credit card, I said NO and he said thank you and have a nice day.
They are calling my cell number every hour - 7 days a week and this number is listed on the National do not call list
My guess is that they are autodialing and tracking what *time* someone answers the phone to determine the best time to call for future solicitations. Theyve been calling 6-8 times a day for over a week now.
this number has called 18 times this month ??
This is American Express. I know because they called to verify I had received my replacement card.
Called this number back and the recording said that I was being contacted either for a sales promotion or marketing research but then it cuts off as if switching and then goes dead. No name of the company is mentioned. How do these telemarketers get away with this. It is very annoying.
According to the women I spoke with, Capitol One will not call you.
I got a recording when I answered to wait for a customer service rep. When they did come on the phone they said that they were from "Citicards" and they handle the Radio Shack accounts. I told them they we had paid before the due date and "Andrew" said that there was a system problem and they were re-downloading the tapes and it should all be cleared up by Friday. Thank goodness I checked my checkbook and didn't give them any personal info.
We are phoned several times a day--for several weeks now. They never leave a message, and there's no one there when we pick up.
These assholes are calling numbers listed for a long time now on the "do not call" list. If you call the number back you only get a message and then line hangs up, you never get to talk to anyone to tell them to never call again.
calls, leaves no message and there is silence when answered
Calls 5 times a day 5 days a week. Cell carrier says they cannot block the number. The times I have answered it, I never get a human. I just got this cell # a couple of months ago and don't want the hassle of changing numbers again, but it looks like I'll have to as the previous holder left lots of debts and I can't stop the calls.
I HAVE RECEIVED THIS CALL MANY TIMES. I WON'T ANSWER, BECAUSE IT IS TOLL FREE CALL.
Stupid cracker heads won't leave me alone.
"People call me on the phone I'm trying to avoid.." - Rockwell "Somebody's Watchin me"
This number is Chase Home Finance. After several hangup calls I got a person. They had an old name for my number. I asked to be removed and they hung up. I called the number back told them what happened, they gave me the "opt out #" 1-800-945-9470.
Make sure when you call the chase customer number, you ask them to send you written confirmation that you requested your number to be taken off thier list. They will do so, they will also offer to give you the number for the Do Not Call registry, which we know most places dont respect that, but these guys sound legit. So we will see. Goodluck, hope it helps.
Chase Home Finance
customer service number 1800-848-9136, was number given by Katie at 1866-836-8338 to verify, I asked to remove my number off thier calling list. She says Chase is calling because they are trying to sell thier services to you, when they call esp if you dont have a home equity loan. I hope this helps you guys. Website is www.chase.com and you can email there too.
this number called my house several times, if you use the options and try the "0" for operator it will disconnect you, press 2 to search by directory of people, one of the extention numbers is x2001 for a michael "something" I got thru told them to stop calling, since its chase mortgage. But I'm sure if all you guys start calling and bombarding their mailboxes with calls they will stop their calls. goodluck. I'll try to find out the other extentions and post them here.
Calls 2 or 3 times a day. No message
these creeps are annoying and persistent and obviously involved in some scam- they call anytime of the day and night- what a pain..
Getting calls about 3 times/day. We don't have any accounts with Signet..but I called and it is Capital One..so maybe Signet bought it? When I called they wanted me to enter 16 digit CC number! I hung up. Called back to see how far it would go.. and it then asked for social security number. I am sure Capital One wouldn't do that!
This number along with several others (704)7951235 continue to call and every time I answer, they are looking for my wife. They sound from a foreign country. I finally got a response other than click from the last one and it was about a pre approved CC.
capital1 1800-9556600 call
my husband many times and
he was paying capital1 every
month.my husband have 2 accounts of 600,00 and they took 2 payments over a 100,00 and never goes to
the account because capital1 bad collectors
disapiared with his account for make many fees for him.
everybody that have problems with capital1 have to came here in who called us and give a complaints.i have a forum
that stopped many abuses
against my husband blind and mentally ill.
if you want to stopped
them give your complaint in this forum either:
They said they were Discover. I previously read about this number on this site, so I told the caller they were lying! I contacted Discover and told them about this phone number and closed my account. Too bad for me and them. I couldn't risk a chance of identity thief. I told Discover to do the leg work and find out who this 800 number belongs too. I did my part. I'm only the little guy. Let Discover go after these morons. Also registered 800-295-7194 at donotcall.gov
About 5 - 10 times a day 7 days a week! No message, no name, no state.
get a call from this number every day. they hangup when they hear me saly hello. If I don't say hello, they don't hang up. This is the ultimate harrassment and should be illegal
I have been getting several calls each day from this number. When I pick it up and say hello the caller hangs up. I went one step further and I filed a complaint on the DO NOT CALL Web Page....
They called 4 times when I finally picked up, they asked for my wife. When I told them she was not home, they hung up
Asking for a manager didn't work for me when I tried it, a lady with a thick accent rudly told me "No you may not." and accused me of commiting fraud because I wasn't who she was calling. Then she rudly hung up on me. Called me back a day later and I asked politly to be removed from their call list. they still call almost daily so when I see the number on the CID I either push the end button hanging up on them without answering them or, if I have had a bad/stressful day and they call I answer and just start rambling off expletives and screaming at the person i'm mad at (managment, polititions, the clown who cut me off in traffic) It's very cathardic and relieving and by the time they hang up I feel alot better.
have any of you heard of caller ID number spoofing? I get calls from 1800-123-4567 sometimes. yes it is listed as capitol one. But do you realize how easy it is to spoof a phone number? Sounds like an identity theft ring to me.
I'm confused. I keep getting harassed by this number - she told me they are selling identity theft protection for Discover Card, but I don't know. I called Discover and they said it was a marketing service and probably shouldn't give out information...and i WON'T..so, Stop harassing me on my cell phone!!!!!!
I called the 800-955-6600 number back and got a recording that said, "please enter your 16-digit account number". I entered 16 random numbers which was on file with them and I was told to re-enter my 16 digit account number. I again entered a different 16 random numbers and then was told to enter my social security number. Well, I wasn't about to enter my SSN. I just entered 10 random numbers and the recording said something about it not matching their records and to please re-enter. Well, at that point, I hung up the phone. If the info that was entered didn't match their records, why not respond back with, "please hold for the next available representative"? The recording never gave any indication that it was Capital One. I have no clue who this number belongs to.
They call 3-4 times a day, as early as 8:00 AM on a Sunday (!) and as late as 9:30 PM any night. I never answer the calls and I have them blocked from leaving messages, but they never did leave a message anyway before I blocked them.
I received a blank call today (sunday), went to your service, and found Discovercard is one of apparently many companies used this telemarketing company. I called Discovercard, complained to them, and they said they "are working on this". I pointed out this creates a bad reputation for them, and FEWER people will buy their product if they continue to support companies like this who violate Federal and State laws.
The next time calls like this come thru, call the company who hires these firms, and complain to them.
I've done some limited research as to who might be behind this number and I found this at another website "July 1-5: National Conference in Phoenix at the Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa.
Room Rates single/double $105 Tripl/quad $115 & $7 service fee
1-800-955-6600" This was found at "http://www.hri.org/news/misc/events1999/99-05-31.even.html" Now how does this relate to a credit card company? Interesting. Whoever is behind this number gets points for persistence. I've gotten more calls per day from them than perhaps any other number. I wonder who else "they" claim to be...
I don't know if this is really Capitol One. First of all, they say they will never call and ask for your cc #, they know it. So I believe it to be a scam. I am not over due on my account, nor have I ever been. I just checked it online and there is no activity on my card other than payments, I haven't used it in months. When you call the number back it automatically asks you to give your cc #. Capitol One would not ask for that information unless you called the # on the back of your card. Don't fall for this, it isn't secure and could be a scam.
I received a call from this number at 9:00 at night. I did not answer it and the phone kept on ringing and ringing and ringing. I am thisclose to reporting it the FBI because I am on a DNC list.
4-5 time a week
They conveniently wait until dinnertime and call 4 times within a 30 minute period. There should be a do-not-call list...hey wait, there IS a do-not-call list - and I'm on it! So what happened?
just received 2 of these phone calls w/in half an hour today. We started getting them last week, and they call ALL the time!!! No one is on the line, not even a recorded message, NOTHING. Super annoying
I called this number back and it is for HSBC Bank. The opening message says that they may have called you because of one of their many credit card offers. Then when you stay on the line it connects you to a real person... So when I got connected to this real person I hung up on them like they do to me...
called my phone asking for someone else.
I picked up on the 3rd ring and said hello. No one answered, I said hello again. Still no response and I hung up
I receive calls every other day from this number. I told them I was going to call the Attorney General. Our state is a "Do not call state".
They called, I called back, was told they we're Chase. They offered to remove my number. Asked who I could complain ti and was given 888-310-1514. Problem was, it was routed back to the same person.
closed account with Capital one years ago get bills in the mail with new memberships fees recently.. Now they keep calling. and calling
They keep calling me and yes it is chase. I had my mortgage with them and they keep calling me for payment. I TOLD THEM I SOLD THE HOUSE AND YOU WERE PAID I FULL
It seems as tho anywhere you go you get idiots pretending they know everything and will weigh in on any subject with sarcasm and supidity. yo robert and rick, getalife!
Morons always post where intelligent people go for answers.
A google shows the number as C1.
These jackasses call 2 or 3 times every friggin day.
People getting those 800 295 7193........
It's Discovercard and they are asking you to buy identity theft coverage. They only speak to men, when they speak at all. They hang up on women and answering machines. You can register a complaint against them.
I get called by this number every day between 1 an 2 pm and again between 9 pm and 11 pm and there is no one there. When I call back the number I only get "you have been contacted for market research or a sales call" this has gone on for three weeks now.
When Cap1 wanted to increase my credit limit, they usually send me a letter. Once when we were paying down our card to zero and they called/wrote in a complete PANIC because they thought we were going to cancel the card or have a zero balance. I got "how can you DO this to us??" Moaning and groaning. Amusing actually.
Usually, the caller is a person with a pronounced accent who reads off a script. Therefore, you can't request that they don't call but rather send snail mail because anything not on their note cards confuses them. What I've done when I get several calls from the same number is place the phone by the iTunes and blast the Beastie Boys or Nirvana. Or put the open line by the TV and let them listen to reruns of the O.C. The calls from whatever number dry up quickly after that.
They call me 7 days a week. many time a day. I hate them.
Each time a different person and we ask for them not to call again. They have called every day. How can we stop this annoyance?
Several calls every day - NOT PROVIDED on caller ID - Never leaves message - no one on other end if we do answer - no outstanding balance with C1 - turned our phone on to "do not disturb" mode
I HATE CAPITAL ONE BECAUSE
THEY ARE STEALING A LOT OF MONEY OF MY HUSBAND BLIND AND MENTALLY ILL.2(TWO) PAYMENTS OF 100,00 DISAPPEARED FROM STATEMENT OF MY HUSBAND AND NOW
THEY CHANGE ALL NUMBERS OF HIS CAPITAL1HASSLE AND THE BALANCE IS 600,00 ALWAYS.
PLEASE SEE ALL COMPLAINTS
IN THE FORUM ABOUT CAPITAL1HASSLE.
Call just came from this number at 9:58am, today (the 27th of April). I'm living with a relative and picked up the phone to hear no response from the other line. A few seconds later I hung up with no repeat call back from them.... YET!
I have recieved all sorts of applications in the mail for HSBC Credit card and have shredded them. I'm sure that it's the bank trying to cash in on ME!
Calls me every night, no one there. I stopped answering the calls.
I'm located in South Florida. I just want to know how to stop them.
I have received many calls from these folks. I googled there number and I get: LLC at Credit Protection Plus, I also called the 800 number and I reach a companies voice mail. They are a company that sells insurance if you become ill-they called yesterday and tried to sighn us up for their services. I told them we were not interested. I think their auto-dialer is left on sometimes and therefore calls and no one on the other line to throw their sales pitch.
These calls come in throughtout the day or night, for several months. I never picked up I ignore the call, but it is getting very annoying.
I've been getting calls from this # for about a month. They're very persistent. I do have CapOne cards, but always pay them when they're due. This is so annoying.
This number shows up on my caller ID at least 4 to 5 times a day. When I pick up the phone, I hear background noise. I say hello and no says anything back. I try to call the same number but all I get is an automated voice and then it hangs up.
I file a Do Not Call complaint each time they call. I just completed 5 complaints covering yesterday and this morning. If they get thousands of complaints maybe they will get the message.
This number calls me all the time. i get calls from it like 6 - 8 timers in a day. I believe this is some scam and should be avaoided
Dial the number and it says its Capital One
Recieved call from them, i answered and guy on other line said he could get in the pad lock in less than 5 min. could this be a repo comp or someone trying to rob someone
Identified themselves as KMLE Camel Country. Refused to remove my number even after I stated that it was on the DO NOT CALL list. Called number back to get recording about a sales or marketing call and then disconnects
It IS Capital One. The man who called (and has been calling repeatedly) asked for my bank information, but he also listed off all the numbers from my CapOne account - my balance, my credit, my last purchase, my birthday, my address. I refused to give him information, but I called the customer service number on my card, and they confirmed that it was them. I paid online, just to be safe. How ANNOYING.
said they were a radio station, then they hung up.
asked who - would not leave a name of company or the like. would not leave a message when asked.
Have called EVERY DAY this week (even Sunday!). Never leave a message. Don't own anyone late payments, so I don't know what they want!
8 Calls in a row - same story as everyone else. I need to block the idiot.
Whoever it is has called daily for the last few days and just today, every five minutes for the last hour! I called back and got the "marketing research or sales call" message. I tried the posted suggestion of hitting the 6 or 7 key several times as soon as I answered the call...well it's been over 10 minutes and no more calls. I entered 666...maybe that freaked THEM out!
No answe.. either someone has too much time on their hands or the computer needs turning off
Dont give 'em your card number!
Called today-no message. If it is CapOne, we have cards, but are not late!
Calls are 3 to 3 times a day, then subsides. Caller ID shows only the number.
This is a "compensated fundraiser," which means it's a company that raises money for charities through the old telemarketing process. Typically they give about 10% to the charity they name (usually kids with cancer or sherrifs). Gifts are tax-free and they're allowed to call you, but it's much better to give directly to the organization they name, because most charities (see charitynavigator.org) spend almost 90% on program costs. This would be like buying something from a company that "gives to the community," only in this case you don't receive anything in return.
I'm getting the same thing as everybody else. They have called twice a day for the last 3 days. I tried to call it back to tell them we are on the national Do Not Call list and to leave us alone, but all I got was the "sales call or market research" message.
This number has called me for about a month, several times a day, just about everyday and no one speaks. It hangs up when either my answering machine or I pick up the call
The local phone company's call blocker service works only with local numbers ... not 800 numbers. So, we got a wonderful device called "Person-to-Person Interceptor." It connects between your incoming line and your house phone. Once you've received an unwanted call (or know any number you don't want to ring), enter it into this thing and you can set it so that number will never ring your phone again. The call is sent directly to your call recorder or voice mail. Since they never leave a message, you'll never hear your phone ring from them again. The device also has a "sleep" mode to keep your phone from ringing during dinner or a nap.
Call the number back, wait for a rep, approx. 2 minutes, and ask to be put on the blocked call list. They are very nice, but do try to put down the wrong number, so when they repeat your number make sure you listen carefully. I did it and it took 48 hours, then no calls back. Hope this helps!
Has called a couple of times here asking for a different person each time, last time they wanted "Rocky".
I get two or three calls a day.
Got a call from this number today at 12 noon. A female voice asked "Is Jared available?" I said: "You've got the wrong number". I could hear lots of voices in the back ground. I tried to call back to see who it was, and it just says "you've been contacted by a market research or sales call". My phone number and our cell phone numbers are on the "Do not call list".
Got two calls from this with only the 8884661258 showing on caller ID. No message left on voice mail.
Calls and hangs up right away. Twice today.
This is capital one, i have no outstanding balance, so i answered to see what it was once. They are trying to sell you additional services, so they can get your balance up, and if you say no, they wont remove you. Look when you apply for this card, you give them the right to contact you for any reason after you accept their card. READ the fine print everyone. take the time, it will save you in the long run
This is Capital One, I have their card and they were calling to tell me they increased my limit. It isn't necessarily a collection call, as the uninformed Robert WV incorrectly stated.
This # calls my house every day too, doesn't leave a message though.
I was bored so after seeing 15 calls from them today I called them and they actually answered. So I asked if they were also bored and would like to talk for a while considering they called 15 times they must want to talk. They asked if I wanted a card, I said no and then he asked if I wanted to be taken off there call list. I told him yes and also asked if he still wanted to talk anymore, he said no and goodbuy and hung up. I guess I wasted there time!
Call from Fabio... he knew my profession. Anyway, it's clearly a recording
In order to be placed on Chase's "Do Not Call Registry", you have to send a letter to them (address listed at end of this message) stating exactly which phone numbers you want removed. Pain in the rear end if you ask me, but I guess Chase is above the National list if you ever have an account with them.

101.5 FM, or so they say. No fewer than two calls a day. Getting sick of these idiots.
This number calls me at least twice a day and then hangs up when sent to voicemail. When called back I get a message that it was a survey or sales call. It is very, very annoying.
Yes, they called again on the 5th, 6th, 9th and today. I got so bold as to answer it on the 5th. It was, indeed, Chase. As I have my mortgage with them, the woman said she was going to connect me with a mortgage counselor to talk about a special refinancing offer. I told her I did not have the time for this, and she said that she would call back at a better time. Who knew that a better time was the same time the next day, and the next, and the next... I just sent them a nasty email. Let's see if that helps.
This is from C1 and they called me to inform me of fraud w/my CC. I called C1 and CONFIRMED this was in fact a call from C1 fraud dept.
I have this number to be zapped by Phone Tray after one ring, but they still call once or twice a day.
No one is ever there when I answer and they call 3 or 4 times a day, even on weekends. I am current on my cards and paid one completely off.

didn't say athing called 7 times in 1 day
This number is calling my home now 3 times a day. When I pick up I hear music, no person.
They call everyday. Multiple times a day and at all hours of the day! I can't get rid of them!
I called my phone company and learned how to block the calls.
You guessed it... at 11:23am the phone rang. Will these dillweeds at least make an effort to call when a person might be home so they can get an ear full?
they've called a few times when I'm not home...today I picked up...guy claimed he was from radio station 101.? and if I gave my name he'd enroll me in a contest for $1000. told him if he called me, he should know my name. he said he was reaching out to businesses in the neighborhood.
hey fella, go get real job and leave the rest of the world alone.
this # has called several times when we weren't home..today I happen to be home on a weekday. They just told me they were calling from Radio Station 101.9 and wanted to touch base with local businesses. Asked for my name to be enrolled in a contest for $1,000. told them if they called me/my business, they should already know who I am, so knew they were not legit.
Received 6 calls from this
number on April 4, 2007,
between 7pm & 8pm.
They have called numerous
other times also.
Who are they and why are
How can we get these calls
Why are they calling me, over and over and over again? I own ZERO credit cards, Nothing from Home Depot..I wish they would leave me alone
Yup, today is 4/3, and they called at 10:14am. All calls seem to be before 1pm during the week, when the average person is at work.
They call by house 15-20 times per day. I finally got through to them. They are HSBC Bank in Salinas, CA. I registered a complaint with FCC. Suggest everybody else do the same
These people are with a collection company in some capacity, for they have left messages on my phone for someone that lives in my small community. They repeat the calls 3- 6 times a day and the calls are proceeded with an Oregan based phone number the calls in just before the call of just after the call everyday. Skip tracing and auto dialing circuits. It is harassment and "WE" paid the phone bill that allows them to call us. Phone company says call the police if they threaten you. Physical threats never come into play, however, emotional ones do and this can be exstremely disturbing to ones health.
called me saying they were 101.9 and asked if i wanted to win 1000.00 then hung up
Over 150 automated calls received in a one week period. No message ever left and no voice when answered. When I returned the call via auto reply they could not tell me why they had called.
called them back got "you have been call for a marketing call or a sales call" recording then I left the line open and it hung up on me very rude
This number has just started calling me (on 3/27/07), but it has been 3/27, 3/28, 3/29, and 4/2. I guess they take weekends off.
Been getting 2 or 3 calls a day for about three weeks. No one there, hangup. They don`t leave message. Going to file a complaint with the attorney generals office and the no call list complaint department.
They called my house at least 5x a day until I finally answered. They asked me one survey question about a local election in Anchorage, AK.
Big delay responding after answered. Asked for me and daughter by name and would not leave message.
3,000th call from these turds. I finally let my 4 year old daughter answer, they asked for my husband, and my daughter kept telling them that wasn't her name. At least I was cracking up on my end!
Have called every day for past month...getting very annoying!! No one speaks, and no messages are left.
I keep getting calls from them
Just another useless bill collector thats as irritating as all the tele-terrorist telemarketers who waste our time day and night, ignore'em and hope they gain enough intelligence to find a real job.

this number calls 3-4 times a week and has been asked to not call again. I feel this is harrassment from capital one.
This number has called several times a day for the last 2 months. They called at 9:00 p.m. last night. This morning I finally managed to talk to a lady and asked her to please take our number off her list and she hung up on me.
They call ALL the time, I have answered but without a quick hello in response, I just hung up.
Over 20 calls in the last week. I do not answer calls with no name in the caller ID unless I know the number.
I am on all the do-not-call lists!
