The phone is ringing, and I don't recognize the number, All Caller ID says is, "NAME UNAVAILABLE".
Please help me figure out who is calling and what they want
internat'l call |
internatlcall calls from 15 phone numbers:
Get annoying calls form 403 310 2255. Following this thread it would appear to be telemarketing calls from Telus. I have sent an email to firstname.lastname@example.org as provided on this thread and hope that eliminates these calls on my business cellular that is with another service provider and will never be on the Telus network.
So annoying - literally received a phone call from these Hard Tanks people trying to update information, which I have given out, three times this week!!
Int'l call. Caller informed me that my Microsoft Computer was at risk of infection from viruses. Claims they got my number from an internet survey. Sounds like a scam, or worse, to me. They hung up when I started asking questions.
This number calls my house virtually 3 - 4 times every day. Leaves no msg, mornings evenings weekends, name it. And it seems a dead human being is on the other side because they never say a word. Now no one picks it
This number phoned me but there was no one on the line.
Both myself and my partner have had this number call but Telus do not have my partners number at all....they do have mine from our Internet setup but not hers :/
Hey Owner, when you come in to court you must come in to court with clean hands, your hands are dirty. I am on Welfare with bad credit so suing me will get you nowhere. If you give me your email, I will give you my address, owner. I love the smell of a Texas Courtroom in the morning! And I got sued, and guess what? No money, no collect!!!
Proud to be Mexican, execution-proof with bad credit!!!!
Don't like it? BRIBE SENATOR KIRK THE JERK WATSON!!!
I will never be a Telus customer. They are so annoying and persistent. This is my private residence and they keep calling here time after time. Take a HINT. I am not interested in changing from a company who does not annoy and try to lure customers. I am a senior semi invalid. I have to get out of bed to answer these phone calls and I am getting fed up with you people pestering me. And to top it off I can't understand the callers heavy accent. Tell them to geet a real job and stop being a pest.
I used to be a Telus customer( had no option for a while) until last year. I have been receiving calls from the same number 4033102255 after I decided to go to the other providers. I asked to speak to a supervisor today and he wanted to take more information from me. I did not give him the information. Why ask me for more information when you are the one called me first? In any case, they already have that information given to them by Telus. I called the 18005670000 and spoke with Debbie from Telus Privacy).. BTW I would never want her job even if I am paid a lot for it. She promised to remove my phone number from the list within 7 days. I hate Telus!
Just read some more of the comments below; The telemarketer is one of many 3rd party TM's for Telus. I know for a fact that my info was given to them by Telus. My info(name included) is specific to Telus only. If you ask to be removed from their list, they will redirect you to someone who will gather more information from you and thus you will receive even more calls.
Do not let a live(real telus agent CND) brush you off. This is their telemarketer calling you regardless of what they say.
same problem here for the last month or so. I phoned Telus Billing dept. and demanded compensation. I received 100 free long distance minutes. Next month I will do the same. Phone *611 from your cell phone. ask for billing...then ask for a supervisor to make a complaint too...then demand compensation for your time. Keep then busy with your issue for as long as possible. Ask lots of questions. For every call I receive from the 403-310-2255 number...I make two calls back at them. Make sure you navigate your way through to an agent from your country.
Called me today at 6:43PM, no one was there, tried to call it back.. nothing.. If Telus is going to call me why wouldn't they talk?
Take me off you calling list or I WILL cancel my mobile account! I have asked the agents several times...and they elect to hang up on me...crappy business Telus....to bad your telemarketing service doesn't match you wonderful commercials
Stop calling me already!!!
There was no one there when I picked up the call - no name - pressing info just displayed the #
Seems like this same message is coming from another source now. They still seem to be calling up with some of the same messages heard below, but for whatever reason, I am not able to pull up the new number. Has anyone got a similar call with a new number registered?
Our residential line received 5x consecutive evening calls (10pm-1130pm) in the same week, from #1 888 238 4817.
Telemarketers are all Filipinas who claim that OUR PHONE# HAS BEEN SELECTED FOR SPECIAL PROMO DISCOUNT ON CANCUN MEXICO TRAVEL PACKAGE(NO AIRFARE, JUST HOTEL & ACCOMMODATION). Asked how they got our #, they simply said we were REFERRED BY OUR CREDITCARD & TOP AIRLINES THAT WE CURRENTLY USED.
My husband was the 1st to answer politely. Apparently, he seemed "too nice" for the agents. A female agent transfers the call to her aggressive "supervisor" Ms. ALEX WAYNE(Who knows if these crook people use FAKE NAMES/ALIAS!) They were "V PERSISTENT" & since my husband couldn't just hung up he passed phone to me to deal with the ladies.
I simply said, "U can give us your phone# & we will contact U if we're interested." I asked for the name which they hesitantly gave. Next eve, again a lady telemarketer asked "TO SPEAK TO MY HUSBAND". When I told her WE WERE SUPPOSED TO CALL "IF" we're INTERESTED--she confidently said==> "YOUR HUSBAND ASKED US TO CALL BACK." To which I replied "I DONT THINK SO BECAUSE I WAS THE LAST ONE TO SPEAK TO U LADIES JUST LAST NIGHT." Then she hangup.
Again the following nite, I answered&there was silence. I think they recognize my voice, as the fiery wife and they just hangup but I'm v sure it's them because of the same NOISY BACKGROUND. Few hours later again we were about to sleep (1030+PM) a crazy woman named RUBY Morales called to speak to my husband-AGAIN. (Kind of like "HOOKERS" trying their luck to sell their "WOMANHOOD" to MY HUSBAND!)
I raised my voice and asked them back "DO U KNOW WAT TIME IT IS!" to which they simply replied in a condescending way "OwwwwKaaayy, ByeBye".
I am beginning to wonder how they got our # because it's a newly acquired line (over a month old) and so far we've only given our # to Canada government bodies and NONE to friends yet.
Could it be that our telcomm provider sell our # to these telemarketing companies? Very mysterious how these crooks collect phone#s.
ANYWAY, BEWARE. Once U entertain their call or simply by being POLITE THE 1ST TIME U talk to them--THEY'LL HUNT U CONTINUOUSLY everyday, EVERY NITE just before BEDTIME! To wives out there, get a hold of ur phone==>THESE CANCUN/SUNSET GRP TELEMARKETERS are like PROFESSIONAL HOOKERS, aggresively selling their stale charms of "womanhood" and FLIRT their way to your husbands!
BEWARE! REPORT TO POLICE JUST LIKE WHAT I DID and report them to any DO NOT CALL LIST in your country so that the individuals & the corporation itself will be fined a penalty of $15,000 if they still insist to call.
early in the morning this people keep on calling like 3 to 5x a day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I received two calls from them this morning, filed a complaint each time to the national do not call list (which I've been on since it was created.)
I'm sending an email to the email@example.com address advising them that I understand it "may take 31 days" to be removed but each time they phone I will report them.
I hate Telus!!!
Call 1 800 567 0000 and tell them you file harassment charges if you don't stop. The lady told me I'd be off the list in 2 working days.
They call from an Alberta number because they are Alberta based. People are more likely to pick up if it's not a 1-800 number.
I've just requested removal from their listing too.
NOTICE: BLOCK THIS NUMBER - IT IS A SCAM
This number keeps calling me, and does not say anything....
they keep calling my cell; have not picked up because I am at work and I do not return numbers I do not recognize - how do you stop these people???
These people are so annoying..They can't take no for an answer..
they keep calling- how do you stop them!
very noisy background
for sure a scam
This is a SCAM - @@@!!!!!
This number 1-888-238-4817 targets Filipinos abroad giving away free or discount vacations. They would mention they are from Cancun, Mexico or Texas. Same scam, different numbers, so beware. Last time, it was a different number who called me, I managed to get their head office address in Texas, I googled map it and found some old factory in Texas. All you people who like free or big discounts, beware!!!!
So by the looks of things, it's Telus??? but why would they call from an Alberta number like that???...
The company name is Call Select. The caller is trying to sell a long distance service. They call us several times a day, I am on the Do Not Call list, I called back to have my number put specifically on their Do Not Call List, I told a caller 1-2 months ago to stop calling, and just told another today after they called twice in 15 minutes. Next time, formal complaints are issued. This is, bar none, the most annoying telemarketer that I know of. If I ever had any interest in the service that they are selling, I would never do business with them simply because of their behaviour.
Go Away if you don't answer
they asked for my wife by her name and when i said she wasnt there they hung up,very noisy background.scam for sure.i am positive they are calling from the philipinnes they called at 11:30 pm eastern time.

Absolute Collection Service Inc.
421 Fayetteville Street Mall Suite 600
Raleigh, NC 27601
they called form a different number last night, told them not to call back, they did anyways, 4 more times, we blocked that number and today they called from this number. unbelievable!!!
They did open up a company in Fort Lauderdale. They called Accelerated Savings Inc. I worked there for one day. Everything there was very shady. I feel soory for all the pepole that getting those calls.
This number is a scam! A certain lady by the name nancy who claims to be working for a travel agency called me....she called a dozen times even though I told her that I'm not interested with the offer...she was really insistent and wont take a no for an answer...finally she hanged up on me after trying to sound soooooooo nice at first.....Please beware
They keep calling and leaving messages on our answering machine. When we finally were able to answer 2 of them, we pressed 2 to be removed from the call list, but got more calls afterward. When my husband answered this morning and got a rep, he asked for no more calls and they hung up on him. These people need to be horsewhipped, keelhauled, and shot several times before they are sued into oblivion.
Im in NB. I got 3 calls TODAY and 2 yesterday.
Im gettin a foghorn! I've pressed dont call me numbers, ive told them to remove me from their list.
i've tried everything. Made complaints, the whole nine yards.
I have to say that this company really did help me save over $3000.00 a year by reducing my interest rate. They may be annoying with all the calls, but the company did save me from all the credit card fees I was getting charged.
Listen Canadians this company use to be called JPM Accelerated Service I'm sadden that this company makes the good americans look bad but believe me were not all like that the owner Paul but not on paper he puts it in someone elses name is ripping ya'll off he's being sued for several things he even lost 3 peoples homes. As for lowering interest rates call your bank mention JPM and they'll lower your interests for free they changed there name because the banks in Canada got smart and want take the charge from this company so now that they changed there name the banks don't know who they are I tried to contact the newspapers up there as well as City Tv but they haven't gotten back to me I'l love to tell them the whole story and what there doing you should see what they do to the elderly if ya'll only knew they only call Canada and know where else now why is that think about and you thnks that bad they don't even pay there employees. If anyone can tell me who I can talk to about this comapny please let me know they need to be stopped oh and by the way they opened up another company down in Ft. Lauderdale and yep there calling ya'll.
I received a call regarding lowering my interest rates on my credit card(s). I listened to the lady whose name was Paula, I didn't have all the information that she needed so she said she would call me back in 30 minutes. The number on my caller ID (I live in Canada) was a local call 613-388-2311, I tried to call the number back but it didn't go anywhere. When the girl called me back I was on the phone so she got my voice mail and left me her name phone number and extension number Paula - 877-642-1755 ext. 217. I tried to call the number and I got the usual blurb of thank you for calling MGA Accelerated Services that they were unable to answer my call right now but to leave my name and phone number with a brief message and someone would call me back...then that was cut off and I got an operator saying that the voice mail was full and unable to take any more messages. I've tried to call it back numerous times of the day and get the same message.
mga accelerated servises at 1 877 642 1755. Called and they made out that they could reduce my wifes interest from 18.5% to to as low as 8% and that they controlled the credit cards not the banks. And for the only a one time payment of $700.00 they could reduce the interest. Har de har, we got in touch with Visa and they had no idea who these people were, and i think they were surprised to find they dont have control of there cards!!. They cancelled the card and replaced it. Do not hesitate to report it to the state police fraud squad, and your bank. Lots of luck.
Another number: 015-024-1079 CID: INTERNAT'L CALL
I pressed 1 and asked them to take me off their list, they hung up which is against Canadian and USA laws as far as i am aware.
Pressed 3 a million times, they call on average 5 times a week.
I just lodged a complaint with the Canadian Do Not Call department at lnnte-dncl.gc.ca, but as it is coming from the states, I don't imagine they will be able to do anything. So I also lodged a complaint with the RCMP (firstname.lastname@example.org), the Governor of Virginia (on his website contact link www.governor.virginia.gov and the Virginia State Police (BCICID@vsp.virginia.gov). Maybe they will do something to put these criminals out of business. If not, maybe Canadians should stop visiting Virginia...
Be nice. Sound interested. Blow a ref's whistle. Break a few ear drums. Send a message!
They call me in Calgary, Alberta several times a week. I have pressed 3 to be removed. I have pressed 1 and asked to be removed. I have pressed 1 and just got a dead line. I have reported to the Do Not Call people. Nothing seems to work.
They also represent that they are calling about "your current credit card account" which is a lie.
According to the DNC list's website, it should apply to companies calling Canada from the States. There also is the option to fine them $15,000. Why isn't this happening?
they have called me 12 times in 6 weeks!
go to phonebusters and report them... phonebusters.com
go to crtc's do not call list and file a complaint also...lnnte-dncl.gc.ca
they have called me 11 times in 6 weeks!
go to phonebusters and report them... www.phonebusters.com
go to crtc's do not call list and file a complaint also...www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca
Perhaps we should try to pool our resources, find a lawyer to possibly do a group lawsuit against these guys. When it comes to the Americans they sue for everything so maybe we should too!!!!!!
Sick of these calls, get them all the time and they won't take me off the list and just hang up. Every time they call now I file a complaint on the Do Not Call website, not sure if they are looking into this but if they get inundated with tons of complaints then something may get done. I also filed a complaint with phonebusters and I urge that everyone do this so that these agencies are aware that it is a widespread issue. I also emailed Marketplace hoping that they will do an investigation about this and air it on their TV show. Someone on another website phoned the police about this company but they said there is nothing they can do. They said as soon as you pick up the call, press the # button 20-30 times and it will screw up their system for awhile, so I do this every time they call so hopefully they can't make calls for a while, anything to make their lives more difficult!!
This call center hangs up on you when you ask to be placed on the Do Not Call list. Is there anyone who can help file a formal complaint against the company? I have tried numerous times to be placed on the list and get hung up on repeatedly. I have tried asking to speak with supervisors and still get hung up on. I would really like to complain as this call center is making all call centers look bad!
Sorry for the spam, But i should also add, It is a long distance number, And you need to call it from your home phone, If any one wants to give it a try , post here please. I don't have long distance on my home phone, So i can't try it to see if it works :(
I called aliant and they told me to call this number 18045182490 and press 1. It will take you off the list. This is not an aliant method, she told me that a customer told her the tip and it works so.
I am on the DNC list as well, They are breaking so many laws by calling me after telling them to stop.
I get this call about 3-4 times a day, at all Hours, i live in bathurst NB. If i find out who is doing this, i am going to smash there face into the pavement.. -.-'
by the way, I am from Canada. I have posted my number on the Do Not Call list in Canada, tried to add my number to the FCC list in the US, but it rejects my area code. I guess that international calls are fair game. I imagine that it won't be long until the call centers only do cross border calls to get around the Do Not Call rules.
these people have called me two or more times a day for well over a month now. Several times I have entered the selection to be removed from their call list. I have even spoken to one of their representatives pretending to be interested in their services for 5 minutes and then asked them told them that I wasn't working and all my credit cards were in default, thinking that they would remove me from the call list so that they wouldn't waste their time with me, but that didn't work either. I am going to start putting them on hold until they hang up from now on. They sure are a pain in the butt.
From New Brunswick they have called twice in 2 days now.
I have been getting calls from these people almost daily and sometimes twice a day for weeks. Perhaps we should see if we could find a whistleblower who works for them who would be willing to provide enough information to put them out of business. I'd be happy to kick in $10.00 to start a fund to provide a reward for the person brave enough to come forward. Anyone working for this company is probably not getting paid a whole lot and a cash incentive may be enough to stop these nuisance calls once and for all!
a little more information
here's an address
1220 Sarna Rd. Melbourne Fla. 32935
and another number 317-256-4025
I should mention hey've hit us here in New Brunswick Canada too!!!!!
And I'm SOOOOOOOOO getting a whistle today damn them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok..so I've got these damn calles 5 times a day, and every 30 minutes if I let the machine pick up for months now. 2 weeks ago I pressed their 2 to be taken off the list, and was told 24 hours. STILL getting calls so today I've been doing research and complaining! I found a direct number to "World Class Services" 1-888-878-1014
another number is 877-642-1755
I called the 888 number, and talked to a woman there in admin. She said she thought it was 30 days not 24 hours to be removed from the list, and informaed me that every time we press 1 to talk to someone we get placed to be called again!!!! even though the idiots are hanging up on me everytime I tell them to remove me. I told her to remove me from the list.
Then I looked up contact info for Virginia State Police - and I suggest everyone make complaints to them under criminal activity. I suggested they shut these idiots down before too many people get hurt by them. The scam they're giving me is Cardholder Services, wanting my credit card info to reduce my interest rate to a 6.?% They also have other scams including medical benifits, debt collection, you have won scam, etc etc etc...all requireing credit card information from the people called!!!!!!
I'm tired of the calls, I'm tired of the harassment, I'm tired of the hanging up on me, etc etc. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE....what the hell are they thinking, after we've told them to frigg off...if they continue to call 5 times a day we'll simply change our minds...stupid ass people!!!!!
they have hung up on me 7 times! once a very nice girl said I would be removed, but no such luck! I figured that it would take a few weeks to get off the list but it's been a month and they still call 5-6 times a week! I'm getting a whistle too or one of those air horns!
One of those "cardholder services" calls. Wow, am I relieved that there's no problem with my account! LOL It's a phishing scam.
I live in Canada. They call me about 3 or 4 times a week and I've been trying to get a company name or number out of them. Tonight I pressed "1" and told them I was interested in lowering my credit card interest rate and that I had a balance of over $4,500 on my card. Then I told him that my baby was crying and that I had to call him back in 5 minutes and asked for his number. The number he gave me was 1-877-642-1755. The guy I talked to was at extension 220 and his name was Keith. I tried the number back and got a recording (as it was after hours). The company is out of Florida. The name is MGA Accelerated Services. Their website is: mgaaservices.com Spread the word!!
I am going to try calling them in the morning and tell them off.
For those of you who are frustrated. I would suggest that you press "1" to get to a live agent and when they get on the line, blow a whistle as loud as you can or something. I'm dying to do that once, but my wife won't let me.
they call here several times a week. finally four days i called back and pressed 1 to be removed from their call list. they are still calling, so yesterday i pressed 1 and told them not to call me again bc i had already asked to be removed from their list. they hung up on me. so i called back 26 times and pressed 1 to be removed from their call list. sure enough they called back again that evening. i pressed 1 to speak to someone and told him very strongly not to call back. he hung up of course. they then called back twice last night and have called back 5 times so far today. i don't bother answering the phone when i see the number. i am so sick of these american bastards, it's unbelievable. but i really like the idea of the whistle, so maybe i'll talk to them again ... or maybe just give them a nice primal scream ...! how loud can i go?
These people are ruthless, they call week after week, when you ask them to stop they hang up, when you ask for a name they hang up, when you ask them who they are they hang up.
These guys are total assholes. They call, you press 3 to get off their list, and I swear the guy running the Company pulls on his wang. Every time you press 3 to get off the list, he's the only one who gets off. You ask politely to be removed from their list, and they hangup on you. I love the abuse. Talk about a pathetic job. You have to feel sorry for this bunch of losers. I think the next time they call, I'll see if they want a job doing something other than bugging people. Then again, maybe the they get off on rejection too. I can guarantee this dude is a foreigner. Probably crashed his taxi, and dreamed up the idea of pestering honest folk. Probably makes 5 cents a call.
I reported this today to Telus privacy dept. They said that they cannot do anything because there are no rules for calls originating outside of Canada.
I have already pressed 3, no result. I pressed #1 next time, and when I politely complained to the person who answered, they did not reply so I hung up.
Can we somehow insist that our government put a ban on these automatic dialing calls?
over the past few weeks I have been called by this number many times and lately I'm being called and faxed about 12 times a day. So I did some diging and found out that the the company is "US Lec of Virginia Llc." but trying to find out anything about them was time wasted. What i did find out was that the company that does the calling is www.paetec.com and their customer service number is 877.340.2600 have fun and be creative when you call them, I know I did. After reading everyones comments on this site I just wanted say that it is not the "credit cardholder service company" that is being rude to everyone it is the company that is calling an their behalf which is PAETEC. heres another little tidbit for everyone, PAETEC's founding principal is "PAETEC was founded in 1998 when CEO Arunas A. Chesonis and a core team of executives recognized that existing telecommunications providers were failing to respect the most important factor governing the long-term success of any business - first-rate customer service."
I am so sick of these American assholes calling me, I am going to get a whistle and blow it in the phone and hopefully blow the bitches ear drum out!
I have received over 30 calls in 1 week from these guys! They told me to keep pressing #3 to stop these calls & the guy said I have to repeat this for about a month!!!! before ou number is taken off the list. There is a way to STOP them! If you can get info about a Canadian office or Canadian phone number, then the DNCL will nail them. Maybe if enough people call in & complain about them, the CRTC will do something.
I get call from these bastards once or twice a day. Every attempt to have get them to stop goes nowhere.Apparently our Canadian National Do Not Call list is only for blocking calls originating in Canada. The U.S. Do Not Call list only works for U.S. area code numbers. It is about time countries put a stop to this harassment. No backbones I guess.
Have received over 30 calls from this number and I have asked every time to be removed from the caller list, I believe there is a law in the USA and now in Canada which prohibits returned calls form 1-800 numbers if asked to be removed form the list. This person is asking to reduce interest rates on your credit cards, and needs info on your accnt ect, I am sure if anyone gives him the information next time you check your card it will be maxed out. I filing a report with the Fraud Department, and police agencies to check this so called business out. When I try to talk to someone to stop the calls they hang up, not a smart move on their part, calls are falling under the category of harassment and if they don't stop then maybe legal action against the phone company who has been made aware of this number and has not stop its service should be the next step. Class action suits can be very expensive!!!!!!
Some bitch there said she was going to call me everyday after I told her off!
How do we get back at these rude bastards?
Also getting calls from this number .I am in Mississauga Ontario .Past three days at 10.30 am . Did search and found this page .Most annoying ,
Got called 4 times over a period of a week!
1. Answered, ask who they were, told them I was on the do not call list... they hung up.
Complained to National Do Not Call List (Canada)
2. Answered, talked a bit and tried to get info... they hung up.
Complained to National Do Not Call List (Canada)
3. Answered, banged the phone on the desk a few times... I hung up.
Complained to National Do Not Call List (Canada)
4. Answered, pressed 3 to get off the list. Hoping...
Complained to National Do Not Call List (Canada)
Now looking for other ways to stop these crooks.
Can't someone stop these people it is ridiculous. Even when you try to speak to someone about removing your name they are extremely rude
I'm tired of being called by criminals from the United States, located in the great state of Virginia. Cardholder Services is just a simple fraud. Why don't the telephone companies or the cops stop them????
This phone no. is calling res homes, all over Alberta, Canada. Since they are probably restricted in the US from making harassing calls, they are now targeting people in Canada. Unfortunately, our Federal 'No Calling' phone list, only covers Canada & not the USA.
Its a card fraud from a dick names Michael. Recorded message.
The owner of (804)518-2490 is United Service in Petersburg, Virginia 23803. The carrier is US LEC of Virginia. To file a complaint, go to www.richtech.com/members/database_profile.cfm?member_id=821.
This that they are saying is a SCAM so you guys out there that will receive this call please dont provide your information, just hang up
they called saying they will charge me for info on a trip to Cancun. Appears to be a scam
If you take a few minutes to search on the Net about this topic, you can quickly realize that the Credit Card scam related to gifts and/or low interest rate offers has been going on since at least, 2003. I've read enough on this subject to come to the conclusion that these call centers (wherever they are located in the world) operate without any fear of being caught. They cause hundred of thousand dollars losses daily to the credit card companies and guess what? The credit card companies pass their losses to the users who are…you and me. As of today, these pirate call centers are still operating in full force across North America. They have found the loophole for escaping from FBI and RCMP. The typical “model citizen” usually reports the fraud to the attorney or local police. I have news for you. You can file as many complains as you want to the authorities, they just can’t catch them! You can threaten of reporting their annoying calls to the phone companies, you can swear, being rude, vulgar with them – They are the ones controlling the game. They just hang up (laughing) until they receive a call from the next gullible person (and the wheel keeps turning). Whatever you do or say, you won’t be taken off their automated calling list. The heads of these scam acts like a computer virus. They are very much up to date with the changing law enforcement techniques and like a moving target, they disappear in the field. You can find numerous blogs and discussion forums related to this scam (this one is one of them). For every thread on the Net that exposes their illegal activities, they have members posting a message denying complains of people who got ripped off. They introduce contradicting information in blogs in order to confuse people who are unsure about the legitimacy of their offers. They have fake web sites, fake names, fake addresses, etc. Based on these facts, I think the only thing that can be done is to interfere with their practices. How can this be done? By “putting a stick in their wheel", hitting the weakest spot – their need to grab personal information from you. I’ve been practicing for quite a few times now and you’d be impressed by how patient they become when they feel that they have you as a fish on their hook. Again, the only power you have over them is to spend as much time as you can to waste THEIR time. This time you spend with them is time that they can’t use for screwing other people. I've learned a lot from reading in threads on the Net. Here is what I started doing: the principle is to play the game of being interested by their offer, providing fake information, pretending, acting, and creating delays. I hear you say that you don’t know how to reach them because whenever they call you because your call I.D. shows: 123-456-7890 (or any other spoofed phone i.d.). Didn’t I tell you they were smart? Here are a few numbers that still work as of today: 1 800-501-0100 (to reach the vacation trip scam) | 1 888-786-6201 or 1 800 943-3250 or 1 800-961-9830 (to reach the MCS credit card interest rate scam). If you need more numbers you can with a little effort “google” the name of the organization along with in the search field and it should pull more numbers to call to. Finally, here is my recipe for a great "obstruction" session upon these scammers: 1) take a hands free phone (portable is even better as you can still conduct you home activities) 2) get them to go through their entire sales pitch by encouraging and acknowledging every once in a while 3) make it last as long as your time permits (they are the one assuming the charges of the “1-800” communication). 4) When you feel that they suspect your “game” (or when you’re bored whichever comes first), find a nice and polite way to tell them that they've just wasted 15-20 minutes (sometimes more) of their precious time stealing other gullible people. I guarantee you that you will get some reaction at the other end of the line. Give them a ride and flood their phone lines! Make their life as miserable as they do to us. HEARING THEIR FRUSTRATION IS A GREAT REWARD AND PURE PLEASURE. Don’t be intimidated if they threaten you of anything, they are totally harmless.

Call came at 5:30PM on a Saturday to my direct line. Called earlier in the day also but hung up when I answered. Vanessa asked about our address, what floor we were on, our suite number. Then she asked if we shared the floor with anyone else and corrected me when I said we didn't. I told her to call the office manager on Monday.
Ils viennent de me proposer une carte de crédit que j'ai refusé. Pour enlever un numéro de la liste des compagnies sollicitantes, appellez 1-866-580-3625. Bon repos de sonnerie!
Rang--no message--then later a vibration then something came up saying there was s text message... but looked and nothing.... WIERD

THis is Dell, they get your number when you call them regarding orders or such and then they harrasse you. THey call over and over pretending to be other people, asking for personal information, saying inappropriate stuff on the phone. Don't ever give out your number, this can happen.
Sounds like overseas's call center person calling from Hard Tanks??? Can't really tell from accent. Has called business where I work 4 or 5 times this week. Starts asking to verify things like company name, address, phone, etc, also list of current VP's of Marketing, Operations, HR, etc. This "Hard Tanks" company calls every year at this time to "update records". Finally fed up with them, I came to this website to research what others had to say. Lots of useful info here, including crossreferencing "Lawfirm's" comments below about "Harte-Hanks", which turns out to be a global marketing firm. Called them, spoke with nice person about removing our company from their call list. (Don't know if it works, but takes up to 72 hrs.) Also read "Andy's" comment about company Primus, who sells ID masking phone numbers. Makes sense since the number on our caller ID is same but results in many different stories here.
Get calls all the tme from this number....never anyone on the line if you pick it up. Never an message left if the answering machine is on. Tried to call the number back and got the message we're sorry the number you have called in not in service.
I like the suggestion that Gil gave...brilliant! But for me, these clowns are calling my house #. Usually 2-3 times a day, seven days a week!! Tried calling back...same as everyone else; not a valid #. As per jvo's comment, I am NOT a MBNA client and I would certainly give them a piece of mind if someone would talk to me when I answer the goddamn phone!
According to tollfreenumbers.com the number is registered to a phone company that does alot of work with india
They've called at least 6-7 more times in the past 2-3 weeks.
called with master card for business owner but required home address, called number back to get caller (company) name - but number is not in service
DELL COMPUTERS - I got a call from this number when i was disconnected from a DELL Computer Sales Specialist. I was just her wanting to follow up and continue designing my system.
are all of you mbna clinets? if so that would explain the calls. answer once, say you're not interested, request to be taken off the list and they will stop calling. if you ignore the calls they will continue.
Gil - that is such a good idea!!! i am going to try that - I get so many calls and I am so sick of it!!!
No message left on machine.
It was a call from the same dude with the thick, thick Indian accent saying he was from Bell Mobility and that I was chosen for a promotion of a new cellphone under a new plan. It really struck me wrong since I just got a new phone through Bell and he didn't know any of my details and was trying to get information from me. Very suspicious and the call cut out before I could even hang up on him.
i just want to know who is the owner for this number
since last week i noticed i got missed call in tha midnight at this number
These are outgoing calls only (their number is not in service, as they have incoming redirected). They are a scam company, trying to sell you a number of things which they need your c/c info for. DON'T GIVE IT OUT!
If they are calling your cell phone, this is how I deal with unwanted callers. I don't have Roger's call blocking, and don't know if they offer it for cell customers, but this works great:
Store the number as you usually would, in your phone directory. I put an "!" in front, then something like "scammer" or "hosebag" to describe the call (different names as they move up the annoyance scale ).
Next I set the ring type to silent.
When they next call from that number, my cell doesn't ring, and I only get a short beep, after the call, to let me know a call has come in. I just clear the notification and never have to deal with them at all.
I simply do not answer when name does not shows. No message left
Now, before the conspiracy theories take overhand:
Calls from 604-550-7000 are from any private/unlisted subscriber at Primus TalkBroadband VoIP in Canada.
More info at: www.dslreports.com
OK, found this site by accident since I've received tons of calls from Hardtanks (or some spelling) claiming they're just verifying info from last year or previously provided. Googled and seems related to what others have gotten here but not sure if the calls came from the number of this thread. Was nice to them when first received these calls 2yrs ago but now I was told to say we're not allowed to provide titles and finally I've had it today. Jack asked if he could put the same info from last year. I said ok but I'm not coroborating anything lol -that nipped it ! I think I may hang up next time.
this number calls daily , when I put them to voicemail (at work) they zero out and ask for another person
It is Telus and now they are calling about 4-5 times a day. I am ready to scream!
i've been called approx 3 times a day for the passed 1 1/2 weeks -- very irritating.
MBNA Mastercard selling travel insurance.
Called twice in one hour. I've seen on other websites that when you answer it is dead air!!!
Who do we report these mother fuckers too?
Gimme a break!
They've been pulling this scam for months now.
Called 3 times yesterday. Never left a message.
Same here. Cannot call back.
Received on my cell phone and called # back from work phone and get 'I'm sorry, the number you have dialed is not correct. Please check your number and dial again'
this number calls constantly, if you call this number its not a number that works. i put it on hold on my cell phone. been connected over 6 minutes i may leave it to see how long it stays connected
I too have had problems with Harte Hanks - but I'm going to do try to do something about it.
If you want to report your problems with this company, please contact us. Future litigation may follow.
Did not recognize telephone number with strange area code on caller I.D. after coming home from work; but when I call back, I got a recorded message saying the number has been disconnected. The telephone number is probably routed somewhere else, probably the carribean or aboard to another forwarding telephone number.
Sounds like its a bogus call. Don't know anyone connected to this phone number and I never talked to anyone either. Please - always be leary if suddenly a weird name or number comes up. Especially if they are talking about your credit card acct and you have had the same ones for awhile. Why would these people be calling you out of the blue now? Sick of these scamming people.
Did not leave message.
called ID says VARIOUS CO. but I tried calling the number back and it says the number is out of service or d/c...British Coumbia..
This company is supposedly called MRS Associates - who will hang up immediately if you want to know who they are or to have them stop calling. They are, allegedly, located in Cherry Hill, NJ and several other locations but not in Florida, the displayed number.
Something about an expired auto warranty.
yep i get this call every day, multiple times, along with a few other numbers
probably all the same jerk offs using diff numbers to see if i will actually answer. i don't. they don't quit and the phone company says they can't do anything about it
This North Miami Beach, FL call came to me in KS on 3-21-08, Tuesday @ 12:51pm. I did not answer it and no message left. Others report a credit card rate reduction scammer, and in another case, mentioned upcoming expiration of auto insurance. Other sites advise the flip of the number is Sandi Lawrence of North Miami Beach. At any rate, it's a scammer. Nuke it.
woman called about lower interst on credit card. just press 1. i hung up, did,t press anything
I received another call from these jerks today so I did some investigating. Lawrence Sandri is a retired FBI special agent so his name is probably faked by someone with a grudge against him. I've asked the Miami field office if they can do anything about this.
I am leaving messages for them (play music for 5 minutes, then send the message. If enough people do this, the cost to them will start to build.
I would like to know what Bell Canada can do to stop this annoying ringing at all hours of the day and no one there. Something illegal ; something not right ; ????????
When I answer no one is there and so I hang up
This is about the 7th time these people have called. I have advised them they are in violation of National
No Call Law, but they ignore it. Always wanting to save you money on credit card interest. One time it was a woman and when I told her I wsn't interested she became irritated and said she would just pass the savings on to someone else and banged the phone down. I have reported them to the No Call Registry as of last night again.
Lawrence sounds like hs is sitting on a rock in India. It is absolutely a scam to get into your credit report and attach your idenity.
No message left...There's a scammer around every corner.
From information gathered from other sites about this number, it is very likely these calls are coming from overseas where they are not obligated to follow the 'Do Not Call' list and are 'fishing' for information.
May not be the case but I doubt the calls are actually comming from Florida or the name connected to the number.
There is a device you can buy and connect to your phone line so if anyone calls your number, they get a message indicating the number they called has been disconnected when in fact it is still in use.
If you get a call from this number and manage to keep them on the line somehow, have somone call the number while your on the line and I'll bet you get the same message.
Didn't leave a message on the recorder.
Ugh. 19 pages and counting. My work cell is very similar to this number, so guess what? I've been getting a LOT of return calls from people about this. If they dial the number, it's obviously disconnected. However, if they hit redial on their phones, it simply calls a local number and bypasses the area code. My prefix is 305, so I've been hammered with calls.
So the number is disconnected; we know that. Someone is spoofing the number and, more specifically, S. Lawrence. Surely something can be done on this. Something I was thinking was a call trace. You'll need to check with your local telco, but I believe on mine it's *72 or something like that. I used this recently when I received obscene phone calls from a couple of kids using "Private Caller."
The calls were sent back to the telco, and then I had to contact the local police department (NOT 911) and open a case. Once I had the case, I had to provide it to the telco, and then the two of them connected to obtain the necessary info. Ultimately the calls were traced (took about a month and a half), and the parents of the kids were notified (per the detective I spoke to). Keep in mind that these initially cost me about $8 or so to do. I was able to get the telco to waive the fees, though.
Why couldn't something like this work? If it points to the 305 area code but is masked, surely the telcos could truly find out where it's from.
They've called us several times and left messages about "Your automobile warranty has or is going to expire. Please don't be caught driving without this important coverage. This is a total scam be very wary of these people.
Got call this evening. Automated woman's voice saying that I might have won a cruise. Press 1 to talk to them, 2 to be removed.
Pressed neither and reported to do not call (was seeing scam reports all over googling the number).
I received a call from this telephone number (305-654-1842) twice within a hour span. I also ended up here.
Called and said I won a trip to Florida. Asked for phone number- gave it to them, asked if I had a credit card, said yes, they hung up.
ok folks...you seem to be missing out on prime opportunities to go off...I mail back credit card offers with nothing in the prepaid envelopes just so it costs them twice or sometimes I put a smiley face flipping the bird....when this automated called me twice, the first time she hung up on me...called my other line so I acted all nice and asked what can you do for me and when she asked for my information I politely asked could she suck my....she hung up...now am I pissed or is she? hmmm...have fun with these jokers and then report them..don't let them steal your sunshine.... I'm thinking if they call again my credit card is going to be however many numbers they need and my name will be buck nakid or i.p. freely... jokers..
I received 2 calls from this number, am @ 11:59 was out, did not leave message.
This afternoon @4:59 ,answered, Lady said"Congratulation's you just won a cruse.
Ya ,right you keep it and hung up.!Name on ID LAWRENCE SANDRI, These people need help.
I have reported to DO NOT CALL.
Nothing to add. Just reporting for statistics. Not the first call from this number.
I could not be more sick of the voice of "Heather from Account Services." Especially as I have two phone numbers.
I did not answer, but when I called back it said that the number was disconnected. I t came up as Sandri Lawrence
They call me and when I answer its something about "Your automobile warranty has or is going to expire. Please don't be caught driving without this important coverage. Press 1 to be connected to a customer service representative. I did and spoke with a rep who said they do not have the ability to remove me from their phone list but if the message plays again - at the end there is an instruction to press 2 or 9 (she didn't know) that is supposed to remove you from their system. - We shall see -
I did some research, here is Sandri Lawrence's address... 980 NE. 170TH STREET APT.2164 MIAMI FL 33162 Send her a nice letter. Tell her it's not nice to call people and scam them.
I keep getting these calls all the time. "Heather" tells me I can reduce my credit card rate, even though I have no Credit Cards. I pushed 1 to talk to someone, he tells me why am I bothering him if I have no credit cards, calls me the F-word, then hangs up. Nice, huh?
This person is calling my Cell to sell me on the idea of her cutting down my credit card interest rate. She was very rude when I asked for her company name. I will report this to South Central Bell TELCO in North Miami as this is where it is listed.
This person wouldn't even let me ask a simple question without being very rude.
She was crude and very verbose with her filthy language when I attempted to ask a question, telling me I was talking over her.
just had my purse stolen, received this call several days after and when they did not speak i asked, "are you the person who stole my purse" then they hung up... also received a call from another company claiming my macys card was late and they wanted to have me pay it over the phone.. the card was only 4 days late and i've never been late but thought it was strange they'd be calling after only 4 days late.. i even hassled the guy for that fact.. be careful
Got a call from this number on my caller ID this morning. They left no message.
Here we go again. I had recently blocked a couple of the most recent all-too-cheerful "Heather from account services" caller's numbers, but I just had to add another number to the blocked list: 3056541842 . This time, when I pressed "1" to speak to a human, I simply asked, "Do I have to contact the Attorney General in order to get off of your calling list?". Of course, they hung up on me. I hope the economy turns around so these pitiful people can get real jobs... I'm going to report them to the Do Not Call Registry, in case it makes any difference (sigh).
All from "Florida" - all from "Disconnected Numbers" when you all back; all credit card/warranty scam related:
Perhaps: MRS Associates Inc. 3 Executive Campus, Ste 400 Cherry Hill, NJ 08002 888-224-6577
Called today; spoke to "Rick Freedman (Friedman?] - who said they were 'affliated with a company in India' but 'could not divulge their name' - said he didn't know about the calls, but stated that the
company in India did 'many different sorts of things.' Rick kept saying 'huh' in a bored, couldn't care less about this' tone. Will be reporting him to the FCC - suggest you all do the same. Maybe
that will change his attitude. I definitely believe he is connected to these ILLEGAL, if not CRIMINAL calls.
All I know when I picked up. It said you can lower your monthly bills on your credit card up to 6%. I just hung up after this. Then came to the computer to type in the phone number to figure out who it was.
Did not answer.........no message left.
Calls daily. Message about better rates, etc. for my credit card. Several options to choose from - opt out of this call, etc. I don't trust them, so I hang up. Just put them on my "decline calls" list - thanks to Comcast phone service.
I received several calls from this phone number.
Apparently, they used a forged caller ID of this number. When I
called it, I got a recording saying that the number that called me
was disconnected. The marketer in particular calling me on these
occasions was "Warranty Activation Center" in Florida to renew
my auto warranty. I don't have one, nor do I want one.
Even if I did want one, I don't want to be marketed to, by
ANYONE, for ANY reason, EVER.
I pressed option 1 to get to a representative and I asked the name
of the company. "Warranty Activation Center in Florida", was
what I was told. I searched for the name/number on Google and
found this site. The number that called me was (305)654-1842.
I'm on a "Do Not Call registry" and have been for years. I've asked
to be removed from their calling lists, yet they insist on continuing
to call my home at all hours.
I'm reporting them to the FCC, let 'em get fined several thousand
dollars, it'll be an EXTREME pleasure reporting them. Where do they
get off sharing my contact info.? WHY doesn't congress pass a law
forbidding unwanted marketing in all forms (mail AND email, not just phone)? They're
wasting thousands of man hours, wasting tons and tons of paper,
and ticking people off, who
Recv'd call at 10:38am on 3/24/08. I have recv'd calls from this number before and have pressed 2 to be removed from their calling list. Obviously it didn't work because they keep calling. They are offering a lower int rate on my credit card. This time I pressed 1 to speak with a rep. A woman answered, didn't get her name or the co. name but I told her I was sick of the calls and demanded I be removed from their calling list again. She verified my number and said she'd remove it. I didn't believe her. I will be reporting this but what good will it do since the name and number that shows up on the caller ID isn't valid. When I called it back I receive a recording stating the number is disconnected.
03/24/08 At 11:05am. They called me, and said they can lower my credit card interest press 1 to talk to a customer service representative. When I pressed 1 I got a guy calling himself Michael of Consumer Credit Company. I asked him why they keep on calling me when I'm on the do not call list. His repley was " Your mother sucks cocks" then he hung up.
got a call from this number at 10:04 on 3/24/08. Didn't recognized the name (Lawrence Sandri) or number so I let it go to. Voicemail but they left no message.
Did a google search and found this site. I will now report them.
Once again, calling to offer me an "extended warranty" on my vehicle that is about to expire... Funny how I don't even OWN a vehicle. However, to waste some of their time, I pretended to be ignorant, claimed to have 4 cars and asked which he was calling about. Played it dumb... finally said one was a 2006, but when he asked for the model, told him it was "green"... this made him chuckle, but he said he could not pull up my information without knowing the model. That's when I bellowed into the phone that I did not want their scuzzy scamming butt calling me anymore and I did not even OWN a vehicle. Don't know what he may or may not have replied... I hung up on him.
Do these idiots REALLY get people to fall for this??
Promised lower interest rates for credit cards. When I requested a number to call back at a later time, they hung up.
Recorded message said it was credit services calling about my credit card and that everything was fine, but that this was my final notice to lower my credit interest rate. Press 1 to be connected to a live operator; 2 to be removed from further notices. Recorded voice said her name was Heather.
Automated caller left message on voicemail (female):
and we're calling in reference to your current credit card account. There is no problem currently with you account. It is urgent, however, that you contact us concerning your eligibility for lower interest rates. Your eligibility expires shortly, so please consider this your final notice. Please press 1 now on your phone to speak with a live operator and lower your interest rate or press 2 to discontinue further notices. Thank you, and have a great day.
Received a bunch of these recently, but this one is the only one with the discontinue option.
I didnt answer it i just looked up the number and found this web site.
Recorded message saying "this is your credit card company" and that they were giving me final notice about the opportunity to lower my interest rate. They didn't say what credit card company. They wanted me to press 1. I hung up.
claims to be able to cut down my credit debt - same msg as from a different number and female caller
I've been getting this call for a while now. I was actually home to pick it up. The person I spoke with claimed to work with Wells Fargo and 500 other banks. She was extremely rude and unprofessional. When I asked to speak with a supervisor she said, "No you may not." When I told her that I wanted to be taken off her list, she said, "We're going to call you 50 more times to piss you off." I called Wells Fargo and was told that they don't work with any outside vendors to place outbound calls to credit card holders. Any ideas how to stop these people?
this number called me; called i.d. said "lawrence sandri" and the recordered message said 'press 1 to talk to an operator about lowering your interest rates.' pressed 1 to ask them to stop calling and the spade who answered hung up on me.
Like one of the other posters, this pre-recorded message said something about my credit cards and wanted me to press one. I didn't do it
because I figured it was phishing scam. Be very careful with these kinds of scams!
Received call on business cell. Didn't recognise number thought might be a supplier about a Purchase Order. Call said something about Auto warranty expiring. I disconnected.
Call made threatening message regarding credit and stated this is your last chance.
Calls me daily. Offers an extension on expired auto warranty. Won't leave message if machine answers. When choosing option to be removed from their call list, a male recorded voice says, "Thank you, you've been removed." Then I get another call the very next day. Sometimes before 7 am and sometimes after 9 pm. I'm on the Do Not Call registry but that means nothing here. If I call them back when doing a *69, I'm either told the number is disconnected or it's a working number but having operational difficulties and I should call back later. I've been dealing with this for three or more weeks and I've reported it to my State Attorney General.
recorded message from Heather at Account Services some garbage about lowering my credit card interest rate to 6.9% BIG HAIRY deal I pay my account IN-FULL every month so I really don't give a hoot what the interest rate is. It is really strange I have received this call I bet 15 times in the last 6 months and every one a FINAL NOTICE. Perhaps Heather and her kind need to find a guy with numb nuts and take care of that situation, it would probably be more fun and could potentially make her one heck of a lot more MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am on the DNC - complaint page here I come
Recording with a female voice, claiming they can lower our interest rates. This person is on several complaint lists, and has been report to various government agencies for trying to extort information, harrassment, etc.
A call from this name and number came around 8pm tonight - we did not answer and a message was not left on the voicemail. I got online to try to get some info about this number and came across many hits about this name and number. We live in Michigan and for now, we have nothing to do or to report but am glad we had caller id!!
They got my Sprint cellphone number, how? I do not know, I rarely give this out.
Computer recording selling car warranty. I called Sprint, they told me there is nothing they can do about it!!!! Maybe they read this and they will block that number on their database. Go Sprint, do something, and be helpful to your (few remaining) customers!!!!
Same here. Call at around 315pm on 3/21/08. Caller ID said LAWRENCE SANDRI. I didn't answer, but called back to get a recorded "number has been disconnected."
After receiving my second call from this name and trying to call the number back, where I got a recorded message from the phone company saying this number has been disconnected, I called my phone company and asked them if they could find out who really called. She tried the number and got the same message. She added a feature to my phone line called Call Trace. They have more sophisticated ways of finding out who is really calling. After 3 successful traces these people will be prosecuted because what they are doing is against the law. If you are getting repeated calls from these scam artisted I would highly recommend getting the call trace.
No message, called in middle of the day. Thanks for the information here!
Called on 3/19/08 at 10:24 am est +3056541842 showed on caller id called on 3/20/08 at 5:44 pm est Sandri Lawrence on caller id..Left no message. I do not answer unknown callers. Reported both times to do not call registry.
Yes, I had the same problem. What is even crazier is that I attempted to call BANK CARD SERVICES trying to give them the information and they wanted to question me... I explain to them, the fraud unit, they didn't need my info... but simply be aware that folks were calling from the number 305.654.1842 with a caller I.D of Lawrence Sandi ... they said they couldn't follow-up unless I gave my informaiton... I thanked them and wished them well... Life is something to live for... lol
This is Heather and so on and so forth and push 1 to talk to operator and 2 to not receive notices i have pushed 2 so many times i pushed 1 and asked how they got my number i have never even owned a credit card in my life and that i was on the do not call list she tries to talk over me and then i said listen and she then hung up on me
I too got this call. I am pretty sure that if any of you have ever written a check or used a credit card in a casino, this is how they got your information. A little over a year ago I was notified in writing that an employee at a gambling institution had stolen information from a computer. I believe I was told that they were only able to steal the last 4 digits of your c/c or check #. The woman I talked to said the feds were prosecuting this person. Anyway, I think he sold all of everyone's information to several different scammers. Some of you may also get e-mails with various spelling of your name. Don't even bother trying to trace the people because they are all pretty slick. I've also filed a complaint on the government web-site.
I just received a call on my answering machine to call right away to reduce my credit card interest rate. this is the third time that this number has called me 305-654-1842 Sandri Lawrence. I am sure that this is a scam because my credit card company emails me regarding any information
Called and I did not answer I looked on the caller ID and did not recognize the name so I googled the number saw this and glad I did not answer! I like the whistle idea though I may try that next time I see this number!
Received phone call at 9:45am with automated message that said to lower interest rate press 1. I pressed 1 & waited a few minutes a a rude young man came on phone & said he could offer me 0% forever off my credit cards. I told him 0% forever is unreal. He then told me "What the hell is the matter with you" I told him him I didn't want his svces & I was on a DO NOT CAll LIST & he yelled at me " I don't care what list your on & WAH WAH WAH " I told him I will find out where he lives and kick his ass. I told him he was a little bastard & he hung up on me. People beware of this scam artist. Senior citizens especially beware since I am one. HE does not know I have connections with undercover police and will have this investigated.
when they called I asked her who are you? and she said we are consumer services we work with Visa, Mastercard and American Express. I said why would you call me when I don't have any of those cards. she hung up on me. instead of trying to steal from hard working people get a job like the rest of us.
time is running out...on my car warranty.
Sandri Lawrence showed up on the caller id. Didn't recognize the name or number so I let it go to voice mail. Tried to call back after *67 but the number was disconnected. Other website says its a scam.
An automated message said they were card services and asked if I'd like to lower my interest rate on my credit card to 6.9%. I pressed "1" and "Sylvia" answered the phone. When I inquired which credit card she was calling for, she hung up on me. I called the number back immediately and received a message stating the phone number has been disconnected and is no longer in service.
Caller ID says 1-305-654-1842, Lawrence Sandri. A recording says my credit card is not in trouble, yet, but they can give me a lower rate. A real person came on..I explained I'm on the do not call list, and she said that's fine, and hung up. Called the number back and a recording says it's been disconnected.
Same thing here as all others above. I am thinking next time they call I will give them enough real (not) information to keep them on the line for a while and then let them know the line is being tapped by Jack Bauer who should be showing up at their location anytime now...
Caller ID info is faked. This is about the 4th name I've seen on the number. Caller is a 'Credit Card Refinancer' called Credit Services. Option 1 will give you an operator on a strict script. If you deviate from the script responses to ask for info or demand to be put onto a do-not-call list, or comment that you are ON the gov DNC List, you will be hung up on. If you choose option 2, you will be told that your number has been removed from the list. It will not be. I have gotten 6+ calls from them. File a complaint at donotcall.gov and at ftc.gov to give them trouble.
The guy said the company is called "Consumer Services". The recording at the beginning said something about my credit cards (I don't have any credit cards). When I asked, he said the company was in Topeka, Kansas, even though they have a disconnected Florida number - 305-654-1842. When I asked for the company phone number, he gave me: 323-213-4134. For real. lol
I received a call from this number on 3-21-2008 at 10 a.m. I hung up and decided to "google" the number, and found this site. It's amazing that something cannot be done about these people who are constantly to scam us. This "company" has called me several times and I never did anything about it. But today I reported them to Do Not Call Registry.
AS SOON AS I ASKED WHAT COMPANY THIS WAS,THEY HUNG, I TRIED TO CALL BACK AND ITS DISCONNECTED.
RED FLAG. IS THERE NOT A LAW AGAINST THIS TYPE FRAUD?
automated message saying I qualified for lower interest rates on my credit cards. I pressed option 1 to speak to a live rep. The rep asked me several questions to "qualify me" for lower interest rates on my cards. Then he asked me for the customer service number on the back of the card. Then he started asking me for the information that they would use to verify who I am when I call. He asked for the last 4 digits of my social. At this point I hung up.This was a phishing call. Anyone giving them this info would be giving them what they need to steal your identity.
I just got a call from these people (3/20/08 10:30 am)on my cell. They did not leave a message and when I called back, their phone number was disconnected. Probably trying to get personal information for identity theft from the things I've seen posted on this and other websites.
no message left
Someone at 305-654-1842 dialed my cell at 9:27 this morning. I didn't answer and they left no message. I'm not going to bother to call them but will see if I can get the number blocked.
WE GOT A CALL FROM THESE PEOPLE, WHOEVER THEY ARE. THEY LEFT NO MESSAGE. I GET REALLY TIRED OF GETTING THESE PHONE CALLS.
Didn't leave a message first time. after a few calls I answered it was automated message that I "can lower my interest rate on my credit card". Did not say a name of a company or nothing so Ihung up, but they keeps calling.
attempted to return call.number was disconnected.
Call offering to lower interest rates on credit card accounts I have. When asked about calling accounts on do not call list, claims represents all credit card companies so has authorization to call customer a/c prior business relationship. Advised I had prev requested to be removed from call list and continuing to receive calls, Megan hung up.
Based on what I read about this number, Lawrence Sandri is a popular dude or duddes. Glad sme of us are alert to this scam. I wonder, do they make money out of this??
I received a call from 305-654-1842. The caller ID shown Lawrence Sandri. When answered I was greeted by an IVR for Certified Warranty. When I pressed 1 then 0 I was connected to Jessica operator 5548. I asked to speak to the supervisor. The supervisor Terry came on line and I asked for the name of the calling company. She wouldn't provide the name of her company, but I was able to get out of her that they were calling for three companies, Personal voice and the Platinum Group. I stated that the law was that she could not disconnect me before telling me the company they worked for. She said that she would not tell me who her employer was and asked if I was recording the conversation. After a while another lady came on the line and told me that they would not provide the companies name and hung up. When I called the number back, I received a disconnect recording.
No answer, thank you for the info I'll be blocking it with PhoneValet
They didn't leave a message and when I called back the number wasn't valid. I am on the do not call list.
This is the second call, by two different numbers in the past two days. Think they are related. Neither one left a message and both had a delay when I answered it.
I keep getting an automated call from Heather at account services. I know it is fraudulent. I wonder how many unsuspecting people fall for this scam. I hang up right away but it is annoying.
Similar to other complaints read here, this was a call stating it was my final notice to lower interest rate on my credit card, they identified as "Credit Card Services" during the computerized first part of call. I pressed #1 and asked which company was calling, since she didn't identify as one of my banks, I filed a complaint at the federal "DoNotCall.gov".
Automated message from "Heather" at credit or card services (or something like that). Pressed 1 to talk to rep. It was a man that would not give any identifying information about himself or the company. Call was cut off after some questioning on my part. This is the second call like this I have received in the last week.
I rec'd a call from 305-654-1842 stating my car warrenty is about to expire, i told her i don't have a car, hung -up
I will also report this number to DO_NOT_CALL
well...it seems everyone the past three days has been getting hit by number +3056541842. I tried to call it back and it wanted to charge me to mae the call...so must just be an offshore kinda bit like RUSS said. I would assume this is just a big scamo out there for everyone...I mean thats just and observation from all the comments left about the one number there...
Just got the automated woman who said that even though my credit card account was current, my opportunity to lower my interest rate to "as low as 6%" was ending very soon. I only answered it becuase I thought it was my firend in WV (which is 304... my bad). What good is the Do Not Call list?
Your car warranty is getting ready to expire....automated. Our car warranties have long expired. Have received this call several times before. Keep hanging up.....
Pre-recorded message, Hi, this is Heather, with account services, your credit card bla bla. I've received a dozen calls with that same message, and each one had a fake Caller ID name AND NUMBER. The Caller ID this time showed LAWRENCE SANDII answered, the African American said her name was Sue, and that she worked for Consumer Servies. She said she was in Orlando. A web search came up empty...BIG SURPRISE, RIGHT? This is a serious violation of the Consumer Protection Act and the fine will be humongous if they get caught; fat chance, the feds do not care, my state senators do not care, and my state attorney general does not care. Woe is me.
They called me and I didn't recognize the name or number so I just let voice mail pick it up. There was no message left.
This is definitely a scam. I'm getting the lower interest rate spiel. When I pressed 1 like the automated voice said I got a guy on the phone. I ask why they were calling even though I'm on the do not call list, he said, " if you had a job during the day you wouldnt be bothered by this call". I asked to speak to a supervisor and he laughed and said no. I asked for the company name and his name and he said no. I said that I would report him to the state attorny general and he said they wont do any thing because you don't even know who is calling you. I cursed him up and down and would have rung his neck had we been face to face. I'm going to report this to the do not call registery.
Autamated women's voice suggested to call them to low my interest rate of a credit card
called several times, will not leave message. name and number are identified as lawrence sandri.have reported this caller to the FCC. suggest others do the same.
They called about "my auto warrantee," I reported them to the DoNotCall people. Why is it these scum are always in Florida?
calls but no message. unknown number to me
I got this call from florida 305-654-1842 3/20/2008 syaing to lower my credit card rates well funny them i don't own ant credir cards and i am on the do not call list. I sent a report in and these people that scam others out of $$ should be SHOT!
I am so sick of these calls! I get them every day. I finally answered the phone today so I could tell them to stop calling. When the representative picked up, I said "What company is this?" and he immediately hung up. I already filed complaints with the FCC, but I'm sure they'll never shut down these miscreants.
Did not answer. I work in my home and I am continously plaqued by these types of calls.
Just recieved that phone call saying the insurance on my vehicle is about to expire. I got hold of a representative and said I dont own a call he promptly hung up on me . I *69 the call and it gave me a florida listing and the message states that this number is valid and working but is experiencing problems at this time. Scam artists . My husband works for a huge telecom company and that number want you to give up personal informtion be aware!!
Called me at 10:30 AM EDT 3/20/08 on my land line. Woman's recorded voice claimed I had won a cruise and asked me to press 9. Am filing a complaint to the FTC. Have been getting a lot of these calls lately. Somebody is in flagrant violation of the Do Not Call Registry. Or, more probably, one of my credit card companies has sold my phone number. I would put nothing past them.
Another of the infamous "account services" numbers. Recorded call about lowering your credit card interest rate. Press "2" to be removed, according to them.
I didn't answer...and they didn't leave a message. Thought it might be a scam...so I Googled the name and ended up here.
I recieved an automated call from this number last night at 9:07 PM with "nothing is wrong with your account, but it is an urgent matter" by that time I hung up on this crap. This morning I called the number back and it is disconnected. It is amayzing that this imigrants from the East European Countries don't stop at nothing, to scam you out of any thing. The voice was with an English accent and her name was "Heather" - wow sexy...
I received an automated last night at 9:51 PM. It said something about saving interest on your credit card. I couldn't believe I was getting this call so late at night and pressed 1 to tell them about it. She hung up on me.
I am reporting them to the DO NOT CALL registry.
Thanks for all the helpful info about this number. I received a call from this number yesterday at 3:25 pm, in California. My caller ID stored the name, Lawrence, Sandri.
My phone number is unlisted, so I rarely receive any type of sales calls from companies. I wasn't sure who this was, so I checked the name on-line and this website came up.
They let phone ring untill answering machine kicked in, then they hung up.
THis is the 1st X they have called
I just rec'd the same call, 3/19/08 6:50 pm and let it go to voice mail. A recorded message said that I could lower my credit card account, I hung up. I agree that this must be a scam. If you google fake caller ID numbers, there are cards that can be purchased so that a number can be entered other than the callers number. Seems telemarketers and cons are aware of this. Took me a while to figure it out. Any more I will not answer a number I don't recognize. Oregon
I called the TFN listed in someone else's post and an Indian man answered the phone. I told him I wanted information about their offer to reduce my credit card rates and asked him for the company's name. He told me they were MRS Associates in New Jersey. He refused to provide an address, but confirmed the address on www.mrsassociates.com when I presented it to him. He didn't seem to be too concerned that his employer is blatantly violating federal law by calling people on the Do Not Call list using fake caller ID with disconnected number displayed and playing an illegal pre-recorded message.
Let them know what you think by visiting www.mrsassociates.com You will get an error page, but I figure if it gets enough hits they will see the message in their web stats and know what most people think of their illegal activity.
Illegal pre-recorded message with forged caller ID including a disconnected telephone number. Claimed to be "Financial Services" offering me to reduce my credit card rates. Like I would give any personal information to a company that places illegal calls with fake caller info!
Automated dialer "claiming" to be a credit card service I use. But did NOT state what bank this credit card comes from. Automated system claimed to want to lower my credit card rate. I hung up and reported them to www.donotcall.gov
This is a scam attempting to acquire your credit card information. They use a fake anonymous caller id service.
A female voice launched into a sales pitch about car warranties, and wanted details about the two cars my family has. I asked who she worked for, she said only that she sells car warranties; I very firmly told her that my number is unlisted and with good reason, and asked where she got the number. Instead of answering, she hung up. Call received 7:30 PM, March 19.
Said "you've won a cruise" then went on to spam message!! Of course...
oh...forgot to write earlier...today when I got through to the "rep" she started into her script and said that we had received this call because we are on time with all of our credit card payments. Thought that was pretty funny, since we don't have any.
This is obviously a phishing scam. Don't bother pushing 2 to be removed from their list. There is no list.
at 7:19 pm on 03/19/08 I received a call from (305)654-1842 and was told I could lower my interest rates on my credit cards and that the offer was about to expire. After pressing 1 to talk to an "associate" I was put on hold for three minutes when a man answered .I asked him which credit card he was with, thinking he was with one of my credit card companies, and was told "any of them".He said he needed the account number from one of my cards that was in good standing so he could verify my interest rates.I asked him to remove my phone number from their calling list, and he asked me what state I lived in.I told him Maryland, and he said "figures ,dumbass northerners " and hung up on me .
This number called me on 3/19 at 730pm. I never answer the phone if I don't know who it is. Lawrence, Sandri was on caller id. I decided to google it and found this website.
So it probably is a scam. So watch out.
Samuel Adams "like the beer" he said, called looking for my daughter and said he needed to speak to her by 9:00 pm Eastern. Told me to have her call back at 800-749-6434 x 5251. Wanted more info on me and I told him if he had my number he should know my name. Glad I found this site to review and report these scammers.
calls from this number start date 3/19/08
according to my C ID they attempted to call 3 times.
Only have determined that it's a Miami/Dade area code
No one on other end so I hung up. Another low-life telemarketer I'm assuming.
UNKNOWN CALL BACK SAID MY INTERNATIONAL CALL COULDN'T GO THROUGH.
The hook here is a message impling it is from your credit card, your account is in good standing; but you can lower your interest rate.
Message is left indidating you can press 1 to speak to person about lowering your interest rate.
We've been receiving these calls for a VERY long time. I took the usual route: take the "reps" name, and write down the date as I tell them we're on the do not call list. We were hung up on quite a few times just trying to do that. Did get the reps name once and warned that I would report them if I received another call. Pressed the 2 button to be "taken off the list" about 3 times. Today I tried again to talk to a rep. Got her name and let her know I was on the do not call list and that I had already spoken to someone there, may I please speak to a manager. She said to just press 2 the next time I recieved the call. I told her I already did. She made it sound like she was hanging up but she didn't. I had time so I just sat there saying "HELLO" every so often while I did my dishes. It was kind of fun wasting their time for a change...even though I can see here it did nothing to deter them. I had no idea they were connected to the auto warranty call we keep getting too...I thought that might have been real and just didn't care. I will be reporting this to the Attorney General and the do not call list, although I don't know if they can do anything. I think there is definatly something more going on than a pain in the butt telemarketer. I'm wondering if someone like the fbi (?)could bust this?? Will reporting them to the A.G. be enough?
Scammers calling for credit card numbers
THIS PIECE OF SHIT ...WE SEND PEOPLE INTO SPACE FOR WEEKS BUT CANT GET RID OF THESE IDIOTS
Just called my cell, no message was left.
Called today at 10:40. No message.
Call said I had won a free cruise.
I have been dealing with this "account service" company forever. I've tried to press #2 to be removed. I've reported them. I've tried to talk to someone and they hang up on me. Another number they use is 407-207-0820. Also a FL number. I've spoken with the FTC and all they say os not to answer the phone. Isn't there something else we can do. They call me 3 to 4 times a week!
MY PROBLEM IS THE SAME AS THE REST. i'VE BEEN HAEEASSED BY THIS "COMPANY FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS. I'M ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST. WHEN I ASK THEM FOR MORE INFO THEY JUST HANG UP. THIS IS A SCAM!
got a call from them today. prerecorded message telling me they could lower the interest rate on my credit card. Hung up on them. This is a phishing scam. Dont give them info! If anything, give them the run around and waste their time until they hang up.They won't call back.
Caller ID read "Lawrence Sandri". Just heard a click when I answered. 6:25pm EST Wednesday 3/10/08
Automated female voice advising me that they are calling regarding my credit card accounts. If I wanted to take advantage of lower interest rates, I need to respond because it was a limited time offer. I was instructed to press 1 to talk to a customer service rep about this offer or 2 to be taken off the list. I pressed 2.
just got the call from that number and I missed it. think I have seen it before and missed it also.
Time to add this number to the donotcall registry
Automated female voice expressing account problem and I should press 1 while eligible or 2 to stop eligibility Call came in at 6:03 pm on wednesday March 19, 2008
well I think its time for the whistle to be blown, I mean literally. Talk vary softly to them, like you want to give them info, keep talking softly than blow a whistle. whistles are amplified over the phone, hopefully some one will get the message on the other end.
I have received this call many times concerning a credit card I don't have nor anyone else in the household. The call says I am in good standing and to press 1 to speak with an agent and 2 if I want to continue to receive these calls. I never get a person. Upon calling the number I get "this number has been disconnect and is not in service, please try 411 or your directory. I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST.
I'm receiving calls like this every day. The number is always different, but it is always from "Credit Card Services". They try to make it sound like it's MY credit card company, but I know it isn't. I have asked them to remove me from their list to no avail. I have started calling them back and giving them what for about calling someone who's on the National Do Not Call Registry. I'm thinking if I do this every time and am really adamant and just plain obnoxious, maybe they'll leave me alone.
They called me yesterday about a warranty on a vehicle I had traded in and before I could ask them to remove me from their list the guy hung up on me. They have called repeatedly over the last month.
You may call the number back and press 1 to be removed from the call list. The message says "Please allow 4 weeks for this request to be processed."
Called and said they were calling from "the bank". My response was "Which bank?" and she answered "THE BANK". Be very wary!!!!
i have been receiving calls from this company/organization/credit scammer for well over a year. since 4/07, when i first started logging the calls, i have gotten 13 calls. when i do *69, get the number and call it, the msg says the number has not been issued to anyone or that it is unavailable. the recorded msg that i get is (more of less):
(beginning of msg is cut off) "accounts services . . . your current credit card account . . .no problems currently with the account, it is urgent, however, that you contact us concerning your eligibility to lower your interest rate . . . to as little as 6.9%. Eligibility expires shortly. Please consider this final notice." this "final notice" has been going on for over a year.
How about doing something about it, powers that be?
Calling number is 305-654-1842. She wanted to lower my credit card interest rate. She initially said they were Card Services. I then asked what company she represented and she said Capital Management. Didn't care that my number is on the Federal No Call List.
I don't know anyone in FL so I didn't answer. No message left. Then I looked it up here. Glad I let it go.
The same message as JL. I asked who offered the warrenty and they hung up. I tried to redial, but recieved the "disconnected message." I will be reporting them also, we are on a NO CALL list.
Basiclly got the credit card scam told the guy I was contacting the Gov. he called me a prick and told me "good luck with that" and hung up. they average calling me every other day.
From super pages I got this much;
(305) 654-1842 is a land line based in North Miaimi, FL
The registered service provider is South Central Bell**.
Detailed listing information is not available.
Got this call 03-19-08, 1:17 pm, Mountain Time. Automated recording stating that I could lower my credit card interest rate and to press 1 to access a personal assistant. After about 45 seconds, they hung up.
Automated message stating that there was a problem with my credit card account and I needed to press 1 to talk to an operator. I don't have any credit cards. I pressed one and the guy started asking for my CC # so they could lower my interest rate. I asked they guy why they were calling me as I'm on the Do Not Call List. He said that this isn't a telemarketing call as they are working for my CC company. I told him that I don't have any credit cards so it HAS to be a telemarketing call. He got upset with me at this point. Wouldn't tell me the name of the company he works for and then hung up. I tried calling back but they have a bogus recording stating the number is disconnected. These guys should be tarred, feathered, and thrown in prison for life.
i Just got this call 3:52 pm on my cell and i answered it but it still went to voicemail. she siad it was my last warning that my intrest rates would Climb and i don't have any credit cards or loans. any one know how to stop this
We've been getting several calls to renew warranty on autos or We don't answer if it's an unknown number, let it go to the answer machine. They don't leave messages, obvious scam.
So the auto I don't have needs some extended coverage. Just a scam to steal credit card numbers I'm sure. Reported for do not call violation if that does any good.
I've been getting these automated calls for weeks. I usually don't even answer, but we're in the process of moving, so I've been answering unknown numbers, and I got sick of hearing, "Hello, this is Heather." Today I decided to press 1, and when the guy answered, I asked to be removed from computerized calling. He said, "People in hell would like ice water, but that isn't going to happen either." I hung up, and googled the number. I've filed a complaint with the do not call list, and will pursue the attorney general's office as well.
Called number back from caller ID. Recorded message said the number has been disconnected. The caller left no message.
They have been calling me for at least 6 month. The caller is always Accounts Services and the same tape is played: your credit card is fine, but you must act fast to take advantage of some sort of offer. I spoke to a live person once, and asked to whom they wished to speak. They asked for a member of my family who has been deceased for over 7 years. Our phone number, however, is still listed under his name. Today is the first time they have called and not blocked their number. I immediately reported them to the National Do Not Call List.
Is a scam. Says they can reduce your credit card interest rate, just give them your cc number.
this person called my home number...our phone number is unlisted in phone book..wen i called it bak it said it was disconnected.
I received the call while sick and in bed. I answered and heard the credit card offer thing as others have mentioned. When I pressed one wondering which card I could get lowered, I waited and finally had a women come on the phone. She sounded very unfriendly, and my red flags went up. I said to her "you sound friendly" with a lot of sarcasm. I was promptly hung up on. I called the number back immediately and found it to be "disconnected". I called my phone company and they couldn't tell me any more than I already knew. How could the number be disconnected when I have seen here how many times it was used to call other people??? So I say thank you to the others who reported it here. Here is the power of the many.
I didn't answer. I never answer these unknown calls anymore but always come here first. If they're legit, I can call them back or they'll call me.
Didn't answer the call; no message left
Checked here to see what the call was about
Apparently the call was a scam
Just got this call. Did not answer. However, if Lawrence Sandri even exists, is he a scammer or a vicitim of ID theft? I only mention this because of the different names attached to this phone number. 11:30 pst
I agree with call recipients speculating that this is a phishing attempt. I get the "card services" call once every 2-3 weeks, usually from an "unknown" caller. They hang up if you ask which card issuer or to be taken off the call list. Don't give them any information!!
Call recording was seeking to Lower interest rate on a major credit card by pushing number 1, I pushed 1, male answered I ask who they were calling for he said major credit card holder, I ask again, the name whom they were calling for, the male hung up the phone with no futher conversation.
Called my cellphone number saying they had been attempting to contact me about my car warranty but I had not answered. Press 1 to talk to a representative. I pressed 1 and was placed on hold for about 30 seconds. When someone answered they immediately asked for the year, make, and model of the car. I told them "1979 Oldsmobile Delta 88" and they immediatley hung up. They need to pay for my minute of cell time!
I received a precorded message from "Johnathan" that otherwise was like the one reported here by Darell. The number is in North Miami, Fl. That and the type of message suggests that it is from Randall Leshin and his company Express Consolidation or something related to them. They have an extensive history of making such calls.
If you're on the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint at www.donotcall.gov
Call from Lawrence Sandri - Credit Card lowering interest rate. I also filed complaint with Do Not Call Registry www.donotcall.gov

I will report this number to the Do-Not-Call Registry.
I tried to call this number back and a recording comes on and says the number you are trying to call has been disconneted.
Called twice, both times a recording this morning, I hung up on them the first time. The second time I pressed 1 after listening to their message about lowering credit card percentage rates. I was connected with a woman who informed me that they were calling for no particular person and were just looking for people with 300 dollars or more in credit cards. I informed her that we are on the Do Not Call registry and that she just broke a law by calling my number. She cursed at me and hung up.
I got the call today at 1204p on my cell phone. they have called me several times before... same number ,no message. I have never called them back. I finally did a yahoo search today, and found this site. I will now report them (yet again ) to the do not call list.
I got the usual automated menu and pressed 1 to speak with an individual. I asked the name of the company and the lady said "WAC Warranty", I then asked for an address of the company, to which she replied she didn't have that information. I persisted in trying to find out a phone number. She said that the Warranty administrator (I can't remember who she said) had that information. I asked to speak with that person and she said that she would have to process me to speak with that individual. I asked her why I would commit to anything if she didn't have that information and that I was tired of the calls and asking to be taken off the list never seems to help. She hung up.
I got a call on my cell phone this morning from this number. The message said it had an important message for me from my credit card company. then it said that my account was ok, but that there was a special offer to lower my interest rate. I pressed one as instructed and got someone who said she "worked for all the credit card companies" ... I reamed her out and told her not only did she disturb me at work, I was afraid something was wrong with my account, and on top of it all called my cell number WHICH I PAY FOR. she asked for my number and said she would put me on the "do not call"list ... hellllooo???? I thought I was already on one of those! Scammers abound. It's so scary!
they called, and the number showed but unknown name showed. When I answered there was dead air.
I got consecutive calls on my home and business lines (3/19/08 - 9:37 a.m. CST)from the number 305-654-1842 with the CID displaying Sandri Lawrence. They are actively spoofing the caller ID as the number in the CID has been disconnected. This requires more a little more sophistication than blocking the CID altogether in which case the CID will generally show "Private," "Unknown," or "Blocked." Stay vigilant, the bad guys are trying ever harder to separate you from your money.
I received a call late in the evening. I didn't answer, and just thought I would search for the name. I have been receiving several phone calls from Florida in the last few weeks. I believe this is the first one with "Sandri Lawrence" on the caller id. I assume all are from the same company. I have not answered any so no input as to what company any were associated with.
Missed a call from (305)654-1842...do not know who it is.
got this call this morning saying about lowering my credit card interest rate. scam obviously...
This number shows up for at least 2 different services...credit card & auto warrenty. They call everyday at least twice.
I got the call this morning (3/19) and I googled it and ended up here. Glad I didn't answer. I filed a complaint on donotcall.gov. Called the number back and its said "this is a working number but it is temporarily having problems". Sounds like a total scam. I hope they get brought down soon!
I called the number back and I was told my international number could not be completed as dialed
Woo hoo, I won a cruise.
I answered the call, got the automated message about my car warranty expiring. I pressed 1 to talk to a representative, who asked me the make and model of my car. I said, "I don't have a car. So obviously I'm confused about what you mean by my car warranty." AFter about ten seconds of silence I said "hello?" expenctantly, and the man hung up.
Sandri Laurence - did not answer and no message was left. Probably another telemarketer!
JUNK MAIL BY PHONE OR SCAM? WHO CARES! I SAID NOTHING AND TOUCHED NOTHING ON THE PAD, WHY GIVE THEM ANYTHING TO USE? OFFERING WARRANTY FOR MY CARS? LOL -LOL - LOL!!! I HAVE A '96 AND A '98, NOT EVEN WORTH THE AMOUNT OF INSURANCE I HAVE TO PAY TO DRIVE THEM! DIRTY, LOW-LIFE SCAMS!
I missed the original call by seconds (305-654-1842), called the number back and got a message stating the number had been disconnected.
I have received several calls from basically the same location and people (different numbers). I have not answered any of the calls and the caller never leaves a message. My thought is that if you really want to talk to me, then you will leave a message on my answering machine. I have already placed my name on the DO NOT CALL list several times!!
I'm pretty sure this is some kind of scam because they claimed they were calling from my credit card company and they were trying to offer me reduced interest rates. Of course they needed my card information first. The really weird thing is that I don't have any credit cards, so there is no way that a credit card company of any kind has my phone number.
Tried to call the # back and no answer..then disconnect
redialed this missed call and the response was "Your International Call Can Not be Conpleted at this time"
at which time I hung up.
I just got a call from these people too. I don't even own a car! I asked the name of their company and the guy hung up. Bunch of losers
OMG i cant believe they keep calling people! they called me at abour 6:30 PM 3/18/08 and i didnt answer cuz i didnt have my phone with me...i called back and the same thing happened, that it had been disconnected! does anyone know how they get numbers???
called the number back and it said that it had been disconnected.
At 2:39 PM PDT, I received a ficticious telephone call from 305-654-1842 posing as my credit card lender. It was an automated call complete with a touchtone menu. The name that appeared on my caller ID is Lawrence Sandri. I disconnected from the call before providing any information but when I dialed 305-654-1842, an automated voice told me that number had been disconnected.
auto repair insurance to be exact!~!
something of insurance going to be canceled via voice mail...
I also got a call from a company claiming to hold my auto warranty and it is about to expire (which is complete BS). When I tried to transfer to a live person the call was dropped. I called the number back and a message came on telling me it was disconnected. This is most likely a scam, and the "disconnected" message was a fake. I am going to report this as well to the FCC.
I just rec'd a call from this number (305-654-1842) and an automated female voice saying the warrenty on my car is about to expire, yadda, yadda. I hung up, Gogled it and was brought here. I'll take the advise of others (here) and report the number.
The number showed up on my cell phone caller ID; knowing it was suspicious I answered. It wass "Your automobile warranty has or is going to expire. Please don't be caught driving without this important coverage. Press 1 to be connected to a customer service representative or 2 to disconnect." I pressed 1 and was asked the make and model of my car; I told the male rep I wanted to be removed from their call list and he hung up on me. I will be reporting the number to the do not call.
Has been disconnected at 1644pm EDT, when called back.
Who is it>??
The person at that number tried to call me and I was unavailable. So I searched the number in google and found this site-I called the number back and it had been disconnected. They called me at 2:47 and by 3:25 it was disconnected?! Scammers phishing for my info I'm sure; they've called my house under a different number to tell me my credit card was reaching it's limit-when I asked which one, she couldnt answer me and hung up. Caught! I hate these people and hate them even more when they interrupt my day and my job!
I didn't answer this call on my cell phone. They left no message. How scary. This was at 3:13 pm CST.
I received a call from this phone number on 3/18/08 @ 2:50PM EST, I didn't recognize the number and left it to go into my voicemail. I was fortunately that they did not leave me any message. I googled the number and landed on this page. Thank you guys for the comments, I am also going to report this number on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY as well.
Thanks for your comments!! I just received a call from this number as well. They called at 1:20 p.m. on 3/18/08. I will also report them.
1:13pm pst. Incoming call, caller ID says: +3056541842 above and below shows: 305-654-1842. I answered, automated female voice advising me that they are calling regarding my current credit card account. Something that if i wanted to take advantage of lower interest rates, i need to respond because the offer is running out. I was instructed to press 1 to take advantage of this offer. I did and I was routed directly to a southern sounding lady. She said "do you want to lower your interest rate?", I said yeah right, I want you to take me off your call list. She said whats your phone number, I gave it to her and she hung up on me.
This number showed up on my caller ID so I did not answer; they left no message. I'll report the number to the Do Not Call registry. Call received a little after 1 PM PDT on Tuesday, March 18, 2008.
When I called this number back to see who had called me I got a recorded message saying the number has been disconnected. This call came in on my cell number - I did not answer but decided to google the name and after reading the info on this site I decided to call the number and see what I get. I got my call at 2:50 CST...seems like they are going down a listing of nubmers trying to scam someone.
I just got a call from this number on my cell. 03/18/08 2:45 pm. I did not answer it.
Just yesterday I was on this website looking at another number that a coworker warned me about. (different #)
I posted it's probably "phishers". I don't answer this kind of crap, and I am not vunerable. Folks are trying harder and harder to scam you.
ME: I hope you dont recieve any strange charges on your bill. Might want to be aware and check.
I received a call 3/18/08 at 3 pm, the name comes up on my caller ID as Sandri Lawrence. It was a recorded message telling me that I could lower interest rates on my credit card account--but didn't say the name of a credit card company. I pressed 1 to find out more, thinking it was a scam. After being on hold for about 45 seconds a woman answered. She would only tell me that the company was "Card Services" and that she was in Ireland. I asked for a phone number and address for "Card Services" and she said F*** and hung up.
They call me and when I answer its something about "Your automobile warranty has or is going to expire. Please don't be caught driving without this important coverage. Press 1 to be connected to a customer service representative or 2 to disconnect." When I press 1 and ask the person I get to speak to their supervisor, they hang up. I advise this is a scam and the number should be blocked. I'm currently reporting it to the FTA office here in Atlanta.
I live in Canada, and once I received a call from this number :
and it turned to be that it belongs to:
Patrick Inyang Etim
430 Audubon ave.suite2
Manhattan, NY 10033
and this is as i think is not the real name....it's a scam
03/13/2008 This 604-550-7000 number keeps calling my company non stop, so any info leading to the company or person would be GREAT! I would LOVE to start a law suit!!! These bones heads call about 8 times per day/night all hours and I want them, and want them BAD!

I also live in Belgium and today we had 2 calls from this number - definately sounded international and like a voip connection.
I live Belgium and it is at least the fifth time that this number calls and when I take down, nothing.
There has enough!
I inform my supplier and the police force as of this morning.
Called number back....Left my number to be removed from their calling list...They said, "Please allow 4 weeks to action you request". See if it works I guess....
this guy call me thinking i would not figure what he is ( nigerian idiots ) concerning a loan on the internet for sure and in all evidence he's a scammer ( loan shark scam) so please if you belong to a phone company report this user a fraud artist well not much of an artist he was not convincing \
Has been calling almost daily since at least 3 months. Sometimes can go a day or two with no calls, then all of a sudden 3 calls in one day. I never answer. They always hang up on the answering machine. This is so annoying, it's nearing criminal.
I just got a garbled call from that number which annoys me a lot since I have a new cell that only family and Mastercard have the number to so far. I might rethink my loyaty to that card! I might also consider giving them a piece of my mind...just in case theres a slim chance someone there cares!
EVERYONE SHOULD BE AWARE THAT THIS IS A SCAMMER. I STARTED RECEIVING THESE CALLS ON MY CELLPHONE AFTER I NEARLY BECAME A FRAUD VICTIM - I WAS SELLING A BOOK ON A STUDENT EXCHANGE AND WAS NEARLY CONNED INTO CASHING IN A CHEQUE FOR $1700 WITH THEIR CLAIM THAT I NEEDED TO FORWARD THE REMAINING BALANCE TO A PRIVATE SHIPPER WHO WOULD LATER PICK UP MY BOOK FROM MY HOME. I BELIEVE IT'S EITHER THE SAME SCAM PPL WHO TRIED TO SCAM ME OR ELSE THEY SOLD MY NUMBER TO A CALL COMPANY. I NEVER PICK UP THO. I BELIEVE THERE'S ANOTHER DUMMY NUMBER THEY'RE USING: 3-317-070-6399. BEWARE. DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION TO THEM. KEEP HANGING UP.
don't know but I answered the call and it was a man with an accent and was talking to someone else and wouldn't answer me he hung up after 13 secs.
This is an auto-dialer. They are most commonly used by telemarketing companies. Their main aim of these calls seems to be to ascertain when the phone is most likely to be answered. I have received a dozen or so calls in the last three weeks. Anycall coming from unknown name and/or blocked number I ginore...if it is important they will leave a message. The ones that don't say anything when you answer are trying to determine the most likely time you will be home. They call for various businesses. After reading Heather's answer I assume ours is pushing credit cards as my wife already has an MBNA card and they are likely pimping a gold or platimum version.
We have the VOIP and I guess this number is a "router" number. My call was from Premium Recovery. The person's name is Daniel Edwards. This call was coming from Switzerland. They work and try to collect on behalf of a fraudulent company called Construct Data aka "Fair Guide" from Austria. Daniel Edward's phoned me back after I hung up on him and proceeded to leave me a message (directed at myself but trying to collect from the company I work for) that was quote "this is for the rude Bi*%ch who just hung up on me - go F*%k yourself!" and hung up.
Answered - no one there.
I had a call too came in as brit. columbia who is this? I called the number but it cannot be connected
Call was at 09:43 - Answered on 4th ring - silence and then hangup. Reverse lookup gives Transworks, Inc. Secaucus NJ 07094. This number is a telemarketing computer dialer for 3rd party principals.

Happy new year to all.

I live in Belgium so.... what the hell is it?
Called me on NEW YEARS DAY! HELL NO! They sounded like a rep for TELUS Mobility. Tried to sell me a phone package, they hung up when I said I was currently under contract with another provider and before I could be asked to be removed from their list. ARGH!

This number comes up every few days, usually calls between 8pm and 9pm. I answered and said hello, but no one said anything, so I hung up. Add this one to a LONG list of 800 numbers and unknown numbers that call the house frequently. (At least 4 calls from various mystery numbers each day. Even started calling on Sunday now.)
I DON'T KNOW WHOS NO IS THIS HOW CAN I KNOW
they called 5 times in a row and guess what? no message, they hung up on me and one of those times they played music in the back ground.
Called around dinner time trying to push an MBNA Platinum MasterCard.

This person has called me in Denmark Nov.7th 2007 but I did not answer the phone.
Someone claiming to be from Dell told me that because I bought a computer 6 months ago (I didn't) that I was eligible for a free trial of Rogers DSL service (not available in my area). I think he wanted some info but I hung up on him. I started getting repeat calls from the same number. Telus call block has filtered it out.
Received a call from a woman who spoke with an Indian accent, asking for all these details about our office (address, what floor we're on, how many suites, etc.). I hung up on her. Caller ID said British Columbia.
This number is sometimes displayed when relatives from overseas call through a long-distance plan.
this number belongs to Dell Customer service
This person keeps calling, interferring our work, called 3 times in 10 mins. Asking for another company who's in our complex. Made sexual advances towards us. If don't stop calling, we'll be pressing charges.
Called and left no message... Could this # be affiliated with Dell?
This is a fortune 500 number. If you call the number you have the option to remove your number from their calling list.
These people keep calling saying they are from Harte Hanks, I have asked NUMEROUS times to be removed from their calling list. They keep calling I finally asked for a phone number I could call back and speak to someone, he gave me a bogus phone number 1-800-854-8049. I am sick of speaking to these people and I want to report them. I have put the number on the do not call list and reported them that way. Now they are not UNKNOWN, take action somebody, I cant understand them and both numbers were crap. I tried the 604 number and the 1800 number saying that it was not working. I think it is BS!
keep on calling me but no answer just a beeping sound.......
First I got 3 calls from 832-726-4814 on my fax line all 2 minutes apart, then the 4th call from 604-550-7000 2 minutes after that.
Saw this incoming number when I was calling using TruPhone to my own number.
My boyfriend calls me from the states and instead of his number displaying, for the past 2 days it's been 604-550-7000. Totally baffeled.
I just received a call for the first time from this number 604-550-7000 i tried to call it back but it is busy signal. Now that i see what is written here i wont answer that call ever. Thanks
This number is simply a number from British Columbia through which some international numbers are rerouted to Canadian numbers and elsewhere.. it is not necessarily a telemarketer, as my friend from egypt just called and that was the number it showed on caller ID, though it could very well be a telemarketer from another country.
These people royally suck. No matter how many times we screw with them (using soundboards and such) they continue to call. Oh well, at least we get a joke out of it when we use the soundboards.
Called ask to verify information on company. Caller speaks in India voice! Will not stop calling!!!
The number 200-4 called my phone twice. I tried to call it back only to get an invalid entry.
Repeated calls from this number; I don't answer since I don't know who this is or what they want. Just comes up as Transworks in NJ.
They've called me twice so far, and all we've gotten is static, even in the message they left on our answering machine.
Call came at 12:45 am ... no message left
- Telemarketer peddling MBNA Platinum MasterCard.
- Quite persistent after being told "No, thanks."
I hate this number!
They call ALL the time.

This number is just a routing number when someone makes a VoIP call with certain providers. The caller can be anyone using this service. It can also be your friend in a foreign country who has purchased an IP card to make cheaper calls.
This is a Telus sales person trying to sell their new high speed internet service.
Dell calling to confirm a refund
September 17th, 2007.
I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I get the call like clockwork at 5:30 pm est every other day. I get static on my end, sometimes nothing at all. I just hang up. Caller ID shows UNAVAILABLE. Can't someone do something about this ???
This number called and i didn't even get a chance to pick up the phone before they hung up.
I have tried for five years to stop Hart Hanks from calling me. I get an average of two calls per week.
has been calling everyday for 2 weeks...it's just a telemarketing firm, call and enter your number to be removed.
Calls several times a week. Very annoying - would shut them down if I could. Definitely telemarketing related; could be MBNA related as well. Telephone spam.
a friend of mine from belgium phoned me last night and this is the number that showed up
This is a gateway which lands IP phones to local switch phones.
I had got many calls from telemarketing out side BC, however yesterday I got a long distant call thru this number from my friend who uses indirect dial long distant service, or long distance calling card.
Non-annual-fee Master Card
This is a SCAM number...they end up charging high fees when you return the call. Once they confirm it is a working number they then pass your cell phone number to other scammers!
DO NOT ANSWER IT OR CALL THEM BACK!!
866-629-7707 calls our number and just hangs up, sometimes just leaves a dialtone
I got a call from them today, it was some guy with a high voice claiming to be from my bank. He just started asking for my credit information, needless to say I hung up on him and dont plan to answer that call again.
I am emailing them daily hope get annoyed too
They have called me also.. Nothing on the other end..
This number calls here at least four times a week. I usually pick it up, and hang up right away. If I let it go to the machine... there is just a message saying"... operators standing by". I don't know what the beginning is as my machine talks over most of their recording.
I know now... its a scam. Thanks to this site!
If it's Hart Hankes you can call and ask to be on their do not call list: 1-800-456-9748. That's what I did. We'll see if it works.
How did they get my number? I didn't get to my phone in time and they didn't leave a message. I have tried to call back and the number is apparently invalid, then told that "all lines are busy, try again later" . . . oh yeah I'll be sure to do that!
He wanted to know information about our computers. I told him to call back later.
Don't worry people!!! This number comes from anyone who calls internationally with a prepaid calling card! My friend from France calls me a few times a week and that's the number I get.
I have received 5 calls a day for the last 5 days - usually at 3am. Only happened when I was visiting Canada and got on the Rogers network.
If this person calls again. I'll call the police.
This person kepts calling me. What the hell does he want?!
I had a very nice time talking to these people....hahaha. I managed to hold them a nice long time (I live in Europe!)and playing extremely dumb untill they really started pressing for my credit card number. When it got heated to the part where I told them I wasn't comfortable giving out my number they said that they were on a "secure line" and didn't even have "pencil and paper" to take down my number- which is interesting cause they sure took down my name earlier... Anyway, when they kinda felt it wasn't going anywhere, they hung up on me! Great, because I won't get any more calls, I'm guessing. They must pick up telephone numbers from abroad somehow though, because I remember a similar call from last year when I traveled to America.
my friend called me
Telemarketers from MBNA and perhaps other companies...they call every day even though I've asked numerous times to be taken off the list!
Every 2nd day for more than 3 weeks. I never answer but they are persistent!
Wopsey typo. He imitates a heavily accented Indian man.
www.411.ca says its NJ.
He laughed a few times... soo I guess he heavily accented Indian man a heavily accented Indian man.
I live in Denmark and get several calls from 001-604-550-7000. Often 5 am in the morning. Usually noone at the other end. Very annoying.

To get an idea of the reputation, see:
as well as nase.org websites to see what they say about themselves and their competitors.
Of course, that's for a client of the boilerroom. A blog discussion of this boilerroom can be read at www.typepad.com
Also see litigiousconsumer.com

I had won a travel from Astar Holidays. A "manager" from Astar wanted information about my credit card for reservation what I wouldn't give him.
called and dead air. hung up. never answered call
I get calls from these people all the time...usually just hang up but I might try holding the # button down next time.
Call came on my private office line and then a minute later on my cell phone they asked for me by name. Said his name was Eric and he was doing "research on other people in the building" Said he worked for "Amercrombie" (sp) Eric had a heavy accent maybe East Indian. Who are these folks and why do they have personal information about me?
They keep calling and claiming they are verifying information and do that yearly. I asked why do you call daily then and requested to be scrubbed off their list and they hung up.
This seems to be a faxnumber. All I heard were bleeps.
I frequently recieved a call from this number; however I've never answered it, and they never leave a msg.
Got a message on my phone from a heavily accented Indian man who asked for a "Mrs.X". not my last name. Since no one answered he said to have a nice day then hung up. I *69 and got the 866 number. Called it to see who it was. Message at other end was Transworks calling on behalf of Fortune 500 companies
Here we go again. The vacation scam.
These dudes fucking suck. After repeat calls and me telling them to go away, they continue to call back. Luckily this time I had my Family Guy soundboard ready... they hung up on me this time! hahaha
I didnt answer, no message left...
Holiday / Vacation scam.
Got a call from this number numerous times. Usually no one there, but today a heavily-accented woman answered and asked for myself or my husband by name. I said we weren't in. She asked if I was over 18 years. I said "No", in order not to have conversation continued. She asked when a good time was to call back, etc.....
I called number to take my name off their phone list.
This number just shows up on caller ID never a message
Been calling for days.

rec'd phone call today, 6/28/07 saying it had to do with Dell computer
Someone at another website (http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-407-965-0600/2)says this number is associated with a scam travel agency called Special-T-Travel (www.specialttravel.com/ 1-800-861-0854) operated by someone named Fields, in Florida.
Some of these folks use a machine to call. There is silence when you answer, then a click before the recorded message comes on (which seems to be activated by your voice).
Sometimes, when I hear this characteristic silence, I put the call on hold. A lot of their machines aren't smart enough to hang up -- builds up their long distance phone bill.
I hit 9 for this call, and asked to be removed from their call list. I then asked for the registration number (which legit telemarketers can provide, by CRTC rules) to prove I'm on the do not call list.
I don't know what the rules are for cross border calls like this.
For Canada rules:www.crtc.gc.ca
I never got the oportunity to talk to them. I would love to speak to them as a battle of wits... I Look foreward to them calling back to have a chat:) If they don't take us off the list they will keep calling so i figure i'll keep talking to them:) till they hang up.
Just a regular incoming long distance number, international.
I'm in the USA. This guy called me 5 minutes ago! He said he was Sonny and wanted to talk about the hish cost of energy. I told him cell phone solisitations were illegal and hung up. He called back and I did not answer since I was googling his number.
Had several phone calls, returned the call and it instantly disconnects. Other web pages reveal a scam.
This is not the first time these scumbags have called. Wish there was a way to get back at these $%#@!...
on a forum someone said this... Ok, this is simply a "router" number....which means it might show up when your friend calls from England, when someone calls you for telemarketing, when someone is using a payphone, a calling card or anything else. It is just a glitch in the worldwide system of caller-id. sometimes you get it, sometimes you don't.
Kate Williamsley on behalf of Harte-Hanks calling, she spoke to several people and keep asking questions non stop. She keeps calling back and when you ask here where she is calling from, she demands to talk to your HR department, probably to ask more questions, before hanging up and saying she will call back.
I asked where is she located and she said Harte-Hanks in San Diego. When I checked it out, there is no such thing.
SCAMMER SPAMMER, DOOM on whoever they are!!!!!!
only a two second message, but not the first time they have called.
some one called me and didnt leave me a message
I just got this call saying that I won a trip. I figured that it was a scam and hung up. I punched in *69 and got the number 407-965-0600. I guess I did the right thing.
It is more than like a number router used by DELL support. Thy first called my cell # which is how I got the called ID number and when I didn't answer my tech support rep from DELL called my non caller ID Home line.
What;s really infuriating is Embarq/sprint's customer support gives no advise about these kinds of calls---we know who makes money on them.
Ignore them, they are scammers, they don't even want to give you info about them and they don't know how to pronouce names or who they are calling.
They called like 20 times trying to get information and keep calling using the information. If you tell them you are Mickey Mouse they will call back for Mickey Mouse.
kept calling late at night and i will not answer the phone no message left whatsoever. this is the third time they have called
Since June 4th, I've received 15 calls from them. I rarely answer calls from unknown numbers anyway, but it's annoying that they called 6 times yesterday! Get a clue, I'm never going to pick up the phone for an 866 number. If it's the bank or something, they'll leave a messge.
Same thing, a no message call on my voicemail as I wasn't home when the call came. after trying reverse lookup and getting nothing, I googled and came here. Had the same thing about 6 mos ago, offering me a trip to Cancun. I never entered any such prize draw. Grr argh this sucker needs to be charged.
Spoke with many people after pressing "9" to talk to a human. Demanded to be placed on their "do not call register". Each time I asked that I was passed to a different person. They eventually said they were "Silver Lake Travel". They are most likely Sunstar travel which I have had problems with in the past. I am tracing the call and pressing charges of fraud. They demanded $100 to have me placed on the DNC register. That is illegal in North America.
Called @ 6:36 P.M. lasted for 13 minutes 48 seconds before they were able to hang up on me.
Cant call number back...
Ontario, Canada - Scam @#$%^&
vacation promotion scam.Don't bother calling them to have your number deleted cause you wont get to talk to anybody.
they keep phoneing nad id ont answer.does anyone know who it is? are they spammers? who are they
Record message told me that I won a vacation in Florida. If I want to know more infos press 9. I did and I spoke with a Fuckin Imigrant who can hardly spoke english. I told him to loose my Fuckin number. I replyed buy sayin to go anf "get lost fucker" in a very bad English LOL.
I get regular non-answering calls from this number, too. I just don't answer it anymore. (MNBA sends me snailmail spam on a regular basis, too). After reading the comments here, I think we should fight fire with fire and call THEIR 866 number several times a day; I'm pretty sure it costs them money to receive an 866 call.
Got the hang up on the remove me from your list, which sent me back to the message. Waited, hit 9, when he came back on I slammed the phone on the table a bunch of times. He didn't sound happy, I sure was!
saw this missed call on my phone. I'm in Ireland so I checked this site before I caled back. Glad I did so.
Had a call tonight, told I had 'won' a holiday to Florida and a cruise to the Caribbean, sounded quite convincing until I was told (after about 10 minutes of speel) I could have the $4000 holiday for a bargain price of $698. Put the phone down and found this site. Seems they are trying further a field, I live in Ireland.
I've gotten in excess of 70 calls from this number in the last month. Is there any laws?? Can one block???
They got rid of the answering machine. Some guy in India answered, gave me a spiel then transfered me to the "specialist". After spinning some more shit he asked for my credit card #. When I called him on it, he hung up.
Caller was arrogant and very unprofessional when my wife asked him to take him off the "don't call list". He said " Don't have time for this" and hung up. Actually Our time spent on this bull was pretty short..Will have to use the same line next time. bruce
Called me to say i won a trip to Florida, knew my ID from some registration sites ? Tried to get my credit card number.I told him that he watched the movie "Matchstick Men" to many times !
The best advice I can give is to get a residential phone service provider that has alot of call treatment options. Personally I am with Primus Talk Broadband, and with them I can enter a call treatment to handle these calls. I can choose call block, forward directly to voice mail, etc. Sometimes these callers are from a bank that I deal with, so I don't necessarily want to block them completely. I figure if I have the treatment set as forward directly to voice mail, and it is actually a legitimate reason to call, they will leave a message. Since they never do, I can safely assume they are soliciting. Problem solved. The calls don't even ring my phone, so I don't have to deal with it. The rates are way better than my local telephone company too. Best decision I ever made was making the switch, just based on the ability to handle my calls this way.
Company gave its name as Specialty Travel. Claimed they got my info because I had stayed in a hotel affiliated with their organization: "You're telling me you've never stayed in a hotel before?" Not since gettng this unlistend number, no. PhoneBusters are aware of this one ("There is no need to speak to an operator... pressing 9 does not open your line to charges..." I reported misuse of ADAD to Bell Canada.
This person keeps calling me. Someone needs to investigate them. They never leave a message.
Called around 10:30AM. I picked up and said nothing. Eventually hung up.
They tried to tell me they were from Telus (our local phone company), however I'm an employee of the company and just wasted as much time of theirs as I could.
When I answered the phone they called was disconnected.
calls everyday at 9:45 am. reverse lookup comes back as Transworks Inc. Secaucus N.J. Most likely a sales call as I have never answered and they do not leave messages.
I couldn't understand much of what was said due to an accent and strange speech pattern. Something about me being there and my wife approved of some "bundle".
Received this call via voice mail saying I had won a trip to Cancun and to press 0 now. Figured it was a scam first off because obviously I couldn't press 0 through voice mail. Thanks for the site.
was on my caller id when i got home from work and i googled it and found this web site thank you for the warning
Scam, keeps calling on a daily basis.
Called today did search of # found this site.Good stuff
I called the police because I was asked for my CC info otherwise I would have the calls build up more and more. They told me they are already aware of this company and they are getting a lot of complaints. Pressing 9 does not give you a charge.
I called MBNA Canada at
1-800-404-1319. I gave them the 3rd degree about making use of such unscrupulous telemarketers. They admitted that they make use of a telemarketing firm based in India (i.e Transworks). Maybe more people should calland put the squeeze on MBNA - guilt by assosiation. MBNA offered to take my name of any of their lists - but will take 60 days to take effect.
wasn't home for call but figured it was scam AGAIN
They said I'd won a trip to Florida for free, but for some reason I still had to give them my credit card number...I then told them I wasn't interested in the trip
Same scam saying I had won a trip. Very annoying!
these guys have called my # 11 times in the past 2 weeks. I won't answer. It's getting very annoying.
Most of the outbound call centres use a dialer technology which randomly dials the "sample #'s" for the rep's, when a rep gets an answering machine, or a no answer they are trained to "disposition" or catagorize the call into a no answer or answering machine. The dialing technology makes this # dormant for a period of time using different "rules" which are set by the company. some examples are: call back immediately, or anywhere from 2-48 or more hours depending on time zones, and other variables. Basically these peckerheads will keep calling until you speak to someone "real" and tell them to "TAKE ME OFF YOUR LIST" you have to be very specific, but even then, they may not "disposition" your # correctly and put you on the kill list, best case of action is to call the company direct and request to have your # KILLED. This will remove your # from their entire list for this project and any future projects that they run at that call centre.
I managed an outbound call centre, so I know the in's an out's, note the Past tense in my verbiage.
Good Luck Everybody.
This number is from an Indian company called "Transworks" based in various countries. The 866-629-7707 number is based in Secaucus in New Jersey in the USA. Their website is: www.transworks.com
I'm also still looking for ways to stop the harrassment. Asking to be placed on their "do not call" list has not helped.
How do we stop this ???
just don't answer it...points for call display
I just had an incredibly rude conversation with a man from this number. He called me and then swore at me for wasting his time. Unbelievable!
(407) 965-0600 is a cell phone based in Orlando, FL
The registered service provider is Omnipoint Communications**.
Detailed listing information is not available.
i got a call from this number. When i tried to make a call to this number it is saying its an international call
Vacation scam, Canadians can
report across border scams
As soon as you pick up the phone, start pressing the pound key fast and furious. It is supposed screw up the machine calling you and may remove your number from the computer. Got this from Andy Rooney.
Got a call from this # as well, pressed 9 to speak with rep, named Tonja SPENCER, said she was with Special T Travel. Gave me a number to call back: 1-800-861-0854. I began questioning her for contact information and other information and she put me on hold to speak to her "supervisor" so I hung up. Researched it on internet, major phone scam.
The number belongs to Dell Computers...the call comes in from India, that's why you can't get through when you try and call back. It's definitely from Dell because they called me back regarding an order I had placed and I was speaking with them, this number was on the caller ID. He said he's located in INDIA!
Another sleazy telemarketer.
I got the very same call this morning offering a trip to Cancun and Florida for a total of 11 nights stay for only $99 ... press 965. I hung up!
I got the call on a business line, pressed "9" so that I could speak to a rep to get the line added to the company's DNC list. Spoke to a rep named "Kenny" who interupted me, tried very hard to get me to give up a credit card number. Ignored my request to be placed on their "Do Not Call" threatened to have my number redailed every 5 minutes; faked being a supervisor, tried to speak with my supervisor, and was generally evasive.
I've open a complaint with the Orlando PD (the city in which the call originated from) as from what I can gather this is nothing more than a credit card fraud ring. I strongly recommend anyone else who deals with this person follow the same steps.
Got a recorded message saying I won a vacation...press 9. So I did. A man answered and I asked for a number that I could call back to contact them. His reply "1 800 F*** Off and he hung up! I used call traced to get the number.
I then called the operator and find out this number is in Flordia. I called it and got a message that the mail box was full.
Call me in Ottawa, Ontario. The caller offered an MBNA Platinum credit card.
No one there. I did not wait for the jackass caller to come on and say, "hello hello hello".
Im here in canada..in the middle of no place and i got this number on my phone. yes its a scam.
Recorded message said I had won a vacation. Sure I did! I was born at night but it wasn't last night.
This # as the last one which had called during the day. No msg left. My guess is that it is someone telemarketing or data mining and they are using some sort of Internet/Voice-over-IP(VoIP) based telephone system.
No big deal. I don't know anyone in Vancouver that would be calling me.
I asked them to remove me from their list, they said "the only way to be removed is to buy a cruise". Jerks.
calls every day sometimes 2 or 3 times one person on the internet put posting to say they thought it was an ad company "pinging" to find out what time of day people are home to answer calls!!!??? could be
keeps calling win a free trip ----- i want his fucking nuts in a bag
I answered the call from this number with nobody saying a word on the other end. I set the phone down and it is still connected. 37 miniutes and counting. I wonder if this will affect their phone bill?
Second time today.
Same as the rest of you, got this call, but didn't answer it, glad I didn't, Never understand HOW they get my number as it's unlisted and only Bell Canada has the number :(
don,t be SILLY!
this gays in city where your police see them in min! this is only spy agent
Saw number on the phone. Was not home to answer.Googled to see who it was ans got to this site..
It's used as an outgoing call relay for several VOIP services.
never leaves a messages always hangs up
Message said we won an all inclusive trip to Florida. My wife hung up after the first 5 seconds.
And again @ 12:52AM!!!!!
Call came in @ 12:43AM!!!!! Rang one ring only. Just long enough for CID to register.
I called the # back and received an automated reply stating that I may be removed from the calling list by pressing 1. I did so, entered my home# and was told after that it might take up to 4 weeks (!?!) to be removed off of the list. They should hire faster monkeys.
IGNORE THIS CALLER ASAP!
This number is a Telephone Solitation Scam according to Canadian Money Advisor
screen calls , they hung up when voice- mail came on
Just another scam saying I had won a trip to Florida!
Someone from Japan.. Neat how they found an internal Gov't cellular number.
i live in canada. recd call from this no. but since i have caller id i did not answer thinking this is a telemarketing call. they never left a msg and the ringing never really persist too long. but i got 3 consecutive calls in one night.
Dell Tech Support
Called this morning and left a message. The voice was mumbled and far too quiet so I couldn't tell what they were saying
Went to my answering machine and heard "Congratulations."
Ex Telus Client,
You need to do some more research! It is not a Telus number - it's one of several dummy numbers used when the caller is masking its ID.
The real culprit is Primus! See the following for more info:
Found who the culpuit is.
It is TELUS a phone company operating in BC, Canada.
I encourage you to cancell any services with Telus and your problems should be resolved. If you do not use TELUS I encourge you to contact your carrier and inform them of that you do not appreciate them doing business with Telus.
I said hello; no reply within 5 seconds, so hung up.
I got 81 follow this number today, only 1 ring and stop, I guess it was IP phone from Japan
This number has called approximatly 10 times in the past several days, at night and in the morning. No one speaks, but I have heard music in the background. They leave no message, just hang up when the answering machine comes on.
in Seracuse, but this company Transworks also farms out their telemarketing to India.
And on their website it says nothing about having offices in Seracuse. We need to stop these people. This is blatant harassment.
Yes it is MBNA!! Ive been getting these calls as well, it is very annoying. WHen i finallly picked up, they were offering me a Platinum Master Card out of the blue even tho I dont even have MC!. She also knew my postal code. I dont know what this MBNA thing is, but it doesnt sound ligit otherwise we should be able to call back.
recorded message I had been randomly selected and to press 9 to receive a vacation
When I pressed 9 it just rang and rang until I hung up
Caller hung up when I started asking him questions
Caller ung up when I started asking questions
Would someone find this prick and put him away. Recorded messages from dialing machines are illegal in Canada. Sasktel customers, hang up and then punch in *57 to activate call trace. Rumor around town is when you hit 9, you get a big bill like the old 1-900 scams.
Just a missed call
did not leave a message, so no clue who this was
Phone rang. I answered and a man started to say "Congratulations you have won..." and I hung up. I looked the # up and it led me here. This has happened several times in the last month or so. I'm getting tired of it
Glad there is something like this - I saw the # and didn't answer it but then went on-line and it led me here!
This is a scam trying to say you win a trip, but what they are really looking for is baout 250.00 in order to claim this great prize!
my husband called home from glasgow to the states and this number came up on the caller id, sorta freaked me out but it was him on the other end
Woke me up on my cell phone at 03:00 am... 3 nights in a row....after several dozen daytime calls to each of my office, home and cell phones. This is some vacation scam offer from the Caribbean. When ever I answer, there is a recorded message asking me to call some 1-866 number...
Some Douche trying to scam me for a vacation
Saw the number.I figured it was another phone scam ,but I picked it up and hung up on them.
From all these other comments I guess i was right.
I just missed the call then looked up the number on 411.ca
It appears the number does belong to Transworks Inc...HOWEVER - I do believe they outsource their services to other companies such as MBNA as previously mentioned.
I was actually anticipating a call from MBNA to regarding my recent credit application. It's possible MBNA made this call to me using Transworks as their source of dialing technology, thereby causing Transworks' company appears by default.
Phone rang and i saw this strange area code in call display. Googled the number and it led me to this site. I screen my calls and won't answer unless i know who's calling, so that's why i didn't answer when the phone rang.
Called # back, said I won promotional holiday offer for Caribbean, Gold Crown luxury. Another vacation scam.
Recorded scam saying i won something...
Recorded message saying I'd won something. I've received this call numerous times in the past.
Called Sunday - "Hi my name is Brenda and congrats you have won 1250 travel reward points, please press "0". Thats where I hung up. It displayed as an international call.
Called in a sunday morning at East Time. No msg left and "call could not be completed as dialed" when calling the number back.
604-550-7000 Not sure but dosen't seem legitimate? Shows lomg distance.
when I got a call from this number in mid day , after saying hello a couple of times I heard a woman on the other end , her accent was non american, she called my name and husband's name clearly and she asked whether we both are working and she said "this is the information iam looking for " and she just hung up !
A friend calling my UK mobile while I was in Canada visiting my parents.
Rang twice today & got this weird number on my cell also. No answer... They hung up ?
7 92 1079 3433
I have received two calls from this number, no message has left
It seems suspicion to me, from the way they are making this call
Two calls from this number when I was visiting Canada last week.
Didn't answer calls as it would've cost me in roaming fees.
Tried calling from a payphone & the minimum cost was $4.05 CAD!!
India accent, i dont understand
Got a call from the number, was from my medical insurance company in the UK.
Got a call from the number, was from my medical insurance company in the UK
The name of the company is Transworks and their website is www.transworks.com. They are "one of India's leading outsourcing companies".
I've been receiving calls from this number for at least a week now. They call almost everyday. I usually do not get a reply when I answer. This morning, there was someone on the other line who asked to speak to Mrs "my last name". I answered back in French and was greeted with a sarcastic "Oh, lovely..." and the person hung up.
I live in Finland, I received twice of these calls, no message left in answering machine.
I've got several missed calls to my UK-based mobile. Haven't answered one yet
My ex fiance had an internet phone, when he used to phone me from the UK that number (6045507000) used to come up on my phone but it was always him on the other end. the number popped up on my phone last night for the first time in 3 months and again today... its him but weird that this is the number that comes up when he calls!
calls almost daily. sometimes numerous times a day. i have never answered it. very frustrating when you're trying to sleep b/c you do shift work!
No name appears
Don't have a fax machine. Someone from this # tried to send a fax thru at 6:03 am! Have traced & blocked this number - Fed up with these scammers & "unsolicitors"!
Left no message 3 times then I was home and they hung up
Yeah, every day with these people. I don't even answer the phone when I see that number, but it's still a pain to have to get up, go to the phone and check the caller ID every time they call. They are wasting my time and they need to STOP. I'm told it may have something to do with www.transworks.com, which has a telemarketing arm. A google search on the number demonstrates that a LOT of people are getting harassed. One theory is that the number is a bot trying to determine when people are home, so other telemarketers can call.
have never answered the call but it comes up almost daily for the last couple weeks
Multiple calls each week (Ottawa), nobody at other end on pickup.
I live in Denmark, and received a call from this number: 604-550-7000 while I was out. Thought it was odd, since I don´t know anyone in the states or Canada, so looked it up in the white pages, but didn´t want to pay a ridiculous USD 14,95 for the listed information.
they keep calling - time to report to: www.donotcall.gov
make sure you really are on the do not call list before reporting! also, register your cell phone.
Calls multiple times in the week and multiple times in the day. No idea who it is.
Wasn't home, my phone just showed this unanswered number, in Denmark.
This is most likely an offshore contractor for Dell. My call for tech support was handled very well UNTIL the tech rep switched modes to attempt to sell me things.
Lady called with Indian accent asking about our computers, saying that she was calling on behalf of an insurance company in San Diego wanting to update what we had in the office.
Lady yelled at me when I wouldn't give her the information. She then yelled and asked for the manager...I am the manager and subsequently hung up on her. Very rude...very persistent, seems to try to intimidate until she gets to someone who will talk to her.
If you live in canada this is not a telus number. This is a scammers router number. Do not give any information out to them. Ask for the manager if they call. If they can't give you the manager, hang up.
This is Hart Hanks they're mining for information and you can bet they're gonna sell it once they get it; you can Google them and find out about them. Now I just tell them that any information they want falls under our nondisclosure policy. They have info from our company in the past but we refuse to confirm their info. They are probably an Indian call center employed by HH because it's cheaper to outsource to India. They are pushy and don't know the meaning of the word "no" It's funny because the last time I talked to one of them she said her company won't allow them to answer the same questions they're asking me under their non disclosure policy.
Called 10:37am Pacific Standard Time. No msg left and "call could not be completed as dialed" when calling the number back.
Called 2 - 3 times each day at various times.
Three times JUST TODAY
Telemarking for MBNA credit Cards
Receive calls from this number numerous times. It will ring until call answere takes call and then it hangs up. Never any message. I have not or never will answer the call.
From Kapuskasing Ontario,
Let the answering machine answer as I do all unknown numbers and got a hang-up!
dont call me anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
they finally answered...the Association for Affordable Services.
The guy on the other line said they are a non profit company that offers small businesses with services. What kind of services I asked. All kinds, says he. What kinds, says I. Hundreds, says he. Consulting, IT, health, blah blah blah.
same number just called my place in Gander, Newfoundland. Picked up the phone and there was nobody there.
Received call here.. no answer but seems that a lot of people did recieve the same call... let's investigate
I dont know about this i was not home, but i promise i will investigate, i work at the local phone company.
Been gettin at least 5 calls per week, for the past 2 weeks.
Mr Michael Wagner was calling (jan 10th 2007) from Deutsche Telekom . He was not very polite.
Notification that a replacement motherboard for a Dell laptop had been shipped.
trying to get my e-mail address and sell shares
Got a call from this number looking for Matthew. Said he had the wrong number. Then they called back and my phone had a constant ring until I answered it to get a dial tone. Someone needs to find this person and confine them or something
Vancouver BC Frequent calls day after day. No one speaks when you pick up the phone
This is about the 12th time in the past month. She keeps asking for people in the family and wanting alternate numbers.
Several times a week I get a call from 866-629-7707. No voice on the phone, just static. I don't have call display but used *69 to get the number above. Anyone have success with shutting these calls off?
Dell called me. "Special Case Manager" - left no callback number so I can't say what department it was from.
I get the same calls at least 4 times a week. It appear to be a computer program that does a random selection from a telephone number data-base.
i call these number back and the "number is not assined" that was the messege i received
hi .. i live in Montreal and everyday i have a call from 866-629-7707 name unavailable .. what can i do? they call everyday !
My Mother called from Edinburgh (UK) and it was listed as this number.
It's nothing like her number so I assume that it is a long distance carrier that was en route somewhere.
I keep geting calls from this number randomly multiple times a day. I thought it was a prank. But now I think it's some mysterious mischiouvious robot or something. Because it never talks. I just hear clang clang sounds in the background sometimes or garbled up speech like a group is talking in the background.
Calls at least once daily, generally mid-morning -- sometimes during early evening as well. Always hangs up after four rings. I have never answered, so do not who who/what is on the other end of the line.
Calling a couple of times a day (11-11-06 onward). I do not answer and no message is left. Annoying.
I got a call from this number but i was not home. they hung up and told that will call back. i tried calling them back but got message that they are calling on behalf of fortune 500 company
She asked for a mr or mrs whatever, close but no cigar. Hung up immediately.
I got a call from this number and when I answered the phone there was no one on the other end. I kept saying Hello three times, but no answer and then it just hung up.
Caller ID shows as Unknown Name.
Call off and on. Shows up as out-of-area.
Lady calls about once a week looking for several people in our company... she must have a list gathered from the many attempts to talk to us...
At first, she would accept going to voicemail (which we've done for several months), but today she asked for 5 different people, so we were not as polite to her, since she's interfering with our ability to work.
She works in a call center (you can hear voices in the background), wanted to ask us about our computers. Said she was from BC Computers or something like that.
No message left--again...
Oct. 20, 2006
out of area
He told he was a representative for an outsourcing web company based in Scotland, but he was talking with a big indian accent!
He told me his name was Jason and wanted to talk the manager. I told him manager wasn't in and he stared singing to me. I hung up immediately.
I got a call from this number - in Denmark.
They said they were from Polak and Quinn.
