Because ignorance is not a strategy and does not stop the abuse at the source. Ignorance of the problem does not bring the weight of attorneys general or individual lawsuits upon junky callers. Ignorance of suspect calls is not always possible, as in my recent case when dozens of medical services personnel were calling daily about my dying mother from a multitude of undisclosed numbers. For weeks I had no choice but to ignore my usual caution when CID gave no useful data on an inbound call. For the same reason I took, amid a flurry of necessary calls, one of these credit reprice bullshit artist calls literally *forty-five minutes* past her time of death. Don't sit there with your snarky comebacks and try to tell me not to get upset.

THESE PEOPLE HAVE BEEN HARASSING ME FOR MONTHS, I FINALLY GAVE THEM A CHANCE TO TRY AND GET ME TO SWITCH AND THEY HAVE YET TO RESPOND.............WHAT LOSERS.
NOTHING BUT A SCAM AND WORTHLESS COMPANY, SOMEONE SHOULD REALLY PUT IT TO THEM :/

Why do people get worked up over or waste time with caring who or where these numbers come from. Anyone with half a brain should know they are telemarketers and the Do Not Call list is worthless so why waste your time? Either don't answer the call, let your message machine screen the calls or whatever you want. It's really a no-brainer. Yep,they are annoying and if we could track them down...someone should introduce their faces to a wall but we all know that's not going to happen in reality, and why go to jail for doing some stupid for such brief satisfaction. Just ignore these idiots! Wasting time like we are commenting on a computer just wastes more of our time. I get a chuckle though reading some of the comments.

How do I get this to stop?

They just hung up and left no message. Caller ID reads, (978)570-2309 UTILITY. I guess they have nothing better to do than harass people in their homes.

keep getting calls from these scammer jerks saying that they want to save us money - every time I ask them to stop calling they say "but there is no call list" or some other stupid response.

ASSHOLES SHOULD BE CALLED BY THEIR COLEAGUES AS OFTENH AS THEY CALL US!

I have just recently gotten caller ID so I am not sure if this is the same number that usually calls like this.
I tried to talk to the "operator" once and as soon as he found that I didn't have called ID, he called me a "f*cking idiot" and hung up.

called my work, i could hear talking but they wouldnt answer me, then i payed attention to the talking and they were telling a RACIST joke!!!!! obviously coworker to coworker but still! as much as i dislike al sharpton i wish he had got this call!!! LMAO!!

Another mortgage scam. I don't even have a mortgage. I am on the no call list which apparently is also crap.

Just called. Gutless wonders didn't even speak. Can't believe they're trotting out the old "Rachel from cardholder services" crap.
I'm going to do what I do to all of these criminal who defy the state and fed. no call lists I'm on, and pay to find out who they are, and turn it over to the sec. of state. Which we all should do. Just got notification that one of them I went after is being fined. It works. Smack them down.

they called, left no message, and the problem is although I do not live in MA anymore, I have elderly relatives etc. that do, and I spent a great deal of time trying to call back or figure out who I might know at that number that would have tried to reach me if there was an emergency etc.. I am on the national do not call list as well, which I have determined is a joke. If someone you have done business with, a politician or charity wants to call, they can.

Other phone numbers in the 978 area code are 978-258-0283, 978-272-0422, 978-364-4254, 978-367-2725, 978-377-0905, 978-409-5210, 978-416-9502, 978-456-3553, 978-522-4068 and 978-545-6763.

Tried to call them back and be put on their DO NOT CALL list (should not be necessary - am on the Federal DNC register). I got a "fast busy" like the number is disconnected or set up not to take incoming calls.

We need to find out who the real company for this number is.

They called me although I am on the national do-not-call register, and command every caller to NEVER call me.

I am an old man and cannot get up to answer the phone safely, and I need my phone in order to answer calls from my loved ones.

What should I do, not answer my phone? Don't call me!

received two calls from the number. didn't leave any messages.

ID says "Service Message". Same auto-recorded message: This is Rachel, from Cardholder Services, with special information about lowering your credit card interest rates. There is no problem with your current account."

Good to know, Rachel, since I don't HAVE a credit card! If you press the number to speak with a representative and ask them to remove you from their list, they hang up on you. If you ask them who they are they hang up on you. If you try to re-dial the outgoing number, it cannot connect. Do not give these people any information about your credit history or credit card numbers or any personal identification information. SCAM

Usual bull^&^& from a robo caller offering free money grants from Obama. Tried to get the name of the company from the rep and all I could here was Quick Corp.

I answered and said "Hello. . . Hello?. . . Hello? Excuse me, can I help you?" No response. Then 3 seconds later there was a beep like I was being recorded. And then a creepy lady voice said "Good bye" like she was from "The Ring." (7 days)Fucking WEIRDOS!

Called today at 3:30 PM, wanted my top three credit card numbers so she could lower my interest rates. SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Telemarketing spam for mortgage refinancing. Said something 'bout Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

A call from this number came in yesterday and when I answered there was no response.
