Got calls from this number today and yesterday on my cell phone. Didn't answer. No message left.
Answered, but no one was on the other end. Called me twice today. Called back and the line was busy.
I finally got through to the #. They said my account was past due, but they had actually applied my payment to my other account. Just letting everyone know to check with them if you have multiple accounts. The calls have stopped for now.
How to stop these haressing calls
It's Citigroup. They own Conoco/76 cards, Home Depot cards, their own MC & VISA cards. It's their collections department. It auto dials you if you don't make an electronic payment by the due date on your account and another statement cycle closes.
by law, they can't call you more than 3 times in one day and can't call outside of regular business hours.
Dial this no. 1 -888-382-1222 then enter the number you don't want calling your number and it will block it! I don't even have a citi account or card but I got this call too...just hang up on me wasting my minuetes. this worked for me! Some fancy phones may have a block call already in them. I also have a fax blocker number too...1-800-473-6209 Works on most faxes I do not wish to recieve! If you are hiding and not paying your bills thats one thing...but if you don't even have an account...or you get a call sying your warranty is going out on your car and its not.....I say block these calls...scams are all over the phones and internet so be careful! They've called me 25 times in the past 5 days! When I answer, it's either a man or a woman asking for someone I don't know. Sometimes no one is there when I answer though. When I listen to their messages, it's usually quiet, or a group of people talking in a room. I called them back recently and they were asking me a bunch of personal questions! They told me that my conversation with them was being recorded for their records. I heard laughing in the background. WHAT THE HELL DO THEY WANT? I DON'T HAVE ANY FINANCIAL ISSUES!

I have been called at least 5 times and when I do catch the call and pick up no one is on the other end. I call back and get a busy signal each time. Not surewho it is but other sites state its City Group/ Citi Financial. its jsut annoying.
This number calls several times a day. No one is on the line when I answer, no messages are left. Once I stayed on the line a little longer and someone breathed in my ear then hung up. This is a little creepy. I reported this number to the FTC and won't answer any more. If it's a legitimate company with legitimate business with me, they'll have to write.

I was asked name and other information but said ALL i would give them is my first name and phone number. laughed when they asked for ss# and other account numbers.
called back.. supervisor.. Amalia... said this number was a COLLECTIONS number.. looked up our number and found no files (as I said she wouldnt)... she then said she would email the number to proper dept to have the number removed... it would take 24--48 hours.
i THINK what got their attention is I told them my mother has had credit card, bank and ID fraud and IF it wasnt taken care of i would turn this number over to the Detective here in Dallas (since their company is also in Dallas County 972 area code)... got results.. will see if it works.

Four or five calls a day from this number to my cellular phone. No messages left - ever. I have never answered one of these calls. Additionally, if I get a call to the cell phone, I will almost instantly get one to home phone. I ignore those as well. Never a message left on my home number either. Just another electronic annoyance. And I'm not a CitiBank, CitiGroup, CitiFinancial or Citi anything else customer.

I answered the phone and the gentleman asked for my husband and I said "he's not home but I am his wife, can I help you"? All he said was "no, that's fine" and hung up right as I was asking what the call was regarding...
I get several calls from this place. They never leave a message and when I call them back it is just a busy signal. I finally got through today and it said they were Citi Card. I do have a Citi card (which is NOT passed due) and the first thing the man on the other line asked me for was my account number...I don't think so. I asked to speak to a supervisor but he just said he could flag the number, which would in turn make him have to collect information from me. I just hung up. There is no way I'm giving them anything perosnal about myself (I'd rather deal with the calls if it comes down to it!)...

He is a loser who gets his thrills from playing make believe with little kids and stuff like that. Anyone who would just blanket a statement like that genuinely has a screw loose. I have excellent credit and they call me anyway. I don't even have anything with citi and will not based on this outrageous incident. I am sure that mama never properly disciplined him, otherwise he would have more respect for others. His mama was probably a spoiled bitch who doesn't have a clue. If you could look closely, I would wager he has bad credit and that is how he is such an expert on the matter!

They call my business every day 5 times a day. I have no accounts with Citi Financial and the only reason I know who they are is because of this website. I have an internet phone system which automatically logs all calls and sends me an email. Their calls are filling up my emails. They sometimes leave a recorded message but they never say who they are.

This is Citi Client Financial. I have 2 Citi cards, and also Sears and Home Depot are carried through Citibank.
They were calling me regarding a past due balance on my SEARS card, which I paid last week. I asked them to remove me from their auto-dialer.

I get numerous calls every day from this number
Tired of the constant phone calls from Citigroup (name on caller ID). I received one today at 8:30 am, around 4pm and now at 7:20pm. I picked up and answered "hello" several times and they hang up on me. Where are our rights for harassing phone calls? I don't even own a Citigroup/Sears card.
I tried to opt out of their 'NEW' reduction plan. I argued that the 'reward' of paying my account on time that would lead to a lower interest rate every year AFTER I paid on time for the next year was what I had been doing since I owned the card - 1994! How was punishing me NOW with a higher interest rate and then bringing it back down to where it should have been MY REWARD?? I did nothing but play by their rules and their own rules have now bit them in the A$$! I don't feel sorry for them. Let their bail out money pay for my card. The only way I can opt out now is to not pay them for 60 days (their rules)and then my opt out is automatic. So now I am going to look for a settlement instead of paying of the remainder of my card since my credit is sqrewed at the end of my 60 days.

Please take our number off your calling list. We have no account with Citifinancial so they have no business even dialing our business number. If you are calling for a staff you do business with, we cannot call staff to the phone. Call them at home as we will not take their calls here.

Responding to Good Credit: Maybe you need to get over yourself b/c most of the people that get calls from this Citi number don't have accounts or are not delinquent on existing ones. It's completely irrational to always assume that someone is automatically irresponsible with money just b/c they receive a call from a "creditor." Must be lonely up there on your pedestal.

I get calls from this number and my bill is current. Noone leaves a message and noone is there when i answer the phone. If it is a collection agency, their system is a bit flawed.

I got calls from this number. It is was CitiGroup. It is their collection department. I had forgotten to pay a credit card bill; it was past due. The woman I talked to was very polite. I appreciated the call because it helped me avoid further finance charges. If they call, you might want to consider answering if you had thought you paid of a credit card an you actually did not.

I have a new cell phone with a new number. This number started calling me today, multiple times. No one on the other end. I blocked it after seeing this. Too bad you can't reach out and smack them
I have received several calls from this exact number, and a few from a very similar number which I suspect is an extension, since the beginning of September. Caller ID shows nothing but the number, and the caller never leaves a message. When I have answered, there is always a pause followed by a voice (usually male, once it was female) asking for a name I can't make out, but which is not even remotely close to mine. After I say that they've got the wrong number, the caller apologizes and quickly hangs up as if it were an innocent mistake, but the fact that they've continued to call makes me think this is some sort of scam. CitiFinancial doesn't have a reason to be calling me, if that's who it is, because I've never had an account with them or used any of their services.
