PHISHING CALL BEWARE - (same as Wally said) - Call identified herself as the fraund departmnet for a gas card. Gave a call back number of 888-638-8396, but the phone showed CTI and 972-653-1000. I went online to my gas account and there was no fraud on my account - everything was current. The caller was phishing for data.

A good idea is to buy a cheap pre-paid phone and give that number out to all creditors - then put the phone on silent and check it from time to time... or when you can make a payment =)

Citifinacial is a legit company. They manage credit for dozens of companies. If they are calling you it is about a loan or revolving credit account you have. Some of the big names are Home Depot, Exxon Mobil, City Mattress, Haverty's furniture, and many others. If they are calling you from this number, you are probably late on one of your installment plans.

They called at 5:43pm on Tuesday asking for my mother. He used the words "Urgent", "Very Important". My mom is sick and was sleeping. He left this call-back number 1-800-532-7320 for me to give to her. She says it's CitiFinancial calling about her car loan.

well it was on my callerID and i was trippin i thought it was my brother who has a972 number and works for the gov and it said CITI period i still dont know who they are!

Got a call that caller id said was Incomplete Data. Did the *69 and tracked the number on here to read that it is from Citi. I don't have but one credit card and it is our business card and certainly not from Citi. If we need anything for personal use we pay cash. No clue.

Called on Sunday evening and asked for information which they should have already had. Outrageous!!!

Citi Corp. Called for co-worker. When I told Him (Hector) he got irate and started yelling. I tried to explain it was a workplace and personal calls are not allowed and he started getting even more mad. I finally had to hang up and he just kept calling and trying to make me argue with him. Is this crap legal?

This is CitiCards. They finance a variety of retail and gas cards.... if you are receiving phone calls its regarding a past due account that you have or simply for the wrong person. Just tell them the phone number they are calling you at and they can search for who and what account they are calling for. If its wrong number they can remove it.

Call my cell phone 3 to 5 times a day 7 days a week. They have been told its a cell and illegal to answer while driving. Stepped up calls when mentioned BK.

this is the first one from this number but I get calls from 972 655 5217 at least 3 times a day 7 days a week. i am close to changing my cell number that i have had for 5 years just to shake em off. credit cards suck in general. if everyone stops paying the fees, hopefully they will crumble.

They keep calling me. Today I got this call twice. Once at 10:32 AM which I ignored, and once at 2:53 PM which I answered only to get the automated reply asking we to "stay in the line for the next available representative" (I hung up).

My cell phone is number is brand new and I have never given it to anyone outside my family. I only give out my land line #, never my cell phone #.

Also, my phone number has already been listed in the National Do Not Call registry (donotcall.gov) for well over 31 days.

This is not CitiCorp's collection agency. If it was, it would be an 800 number. I've talked to them several times and the last time threatened to have them investigated for fraud and phishing and since they've left me alone. It won't let me copy the info (thank you, Lynx browser), but you can get their location and such at rschrey.phonesrch.hop.clickbank.net (a link that was suggested to me by a friend when I spoke to him about said phone issues). I used the info obtained from this service to register a complaint with my local police department and the Better Business Bureau. I suggest everyone else do the same, and hopefully with enough complaints this scam will be shut down.

It was a collection agency calling about my Home Depot card. Dumb me, I forgot to update my new billing information after I moved and forgot to make my payment. No worries, everything is taken care of.

This time they left a message - something for Jerry Brown since I live in CA and don't like invasion of privacy. The voice said this is not business. You're damned right, it's an intrusion. Write me a litter if it's that important. Until then I will assume you are an ID thief making vain attempts, or a government goon abusing power. You will get no response on the telephone unless you say who you are and what your business is and you have business with me, or if you are known to me. We know there are exceptions to the Do Not Call List. I doubt this is one of them coming from an unlisted number. I did the White Pages Reverse search on it and whoever it is won't make me spend fourteen bucks to bother finding out. Some things should stay in Texas. That much I already knew.

We have nothing with Citi Corp. They are a real pain, calling 16 minutes apart day in and day out. I have told them to take us off their list, but to no avail. Will have to turn them in, this is getting ridiculous!!!

I have 2 citibank accounts and arrangements have been made. They still keep calling though. I suspect it is the Goodyear card since I owe the most there.

This call comes in constantly. Caller ID says CTI and the number always come up (972) 653-1000 and (972) 655-0010. Today alone I had 6 calls on my home phone from these numbers. When you call back all you get is Thank you for calling Citi Cards Our Office is now closed... Guess what I don't have a Citi Bank Account so I am guessing it is fraud so watch out.

This number called our business, looking for an employee that is no longer with the company. Its some type of collection agency.

No message. I let the machine answer the phone. Just an automated recording saying sorry I had to wait so long, then someone came on said hello and hung up.

I answered and there was a recorded message saying there was important info about my home depot account(that I don't have)press 1 for english.So I called my local Home Depot and spoke to CS she said to not answer any call like that and to call back in the morning to talk to the computer room/office

Had a recorded message regarding CitiCards. Stated it wasn't a sales call. Got another call and I answered, but no one responded.

They've called twice in the past week and it's a Texas area code, that's all I've been able to figure out. This is my cell phone # and they don't leave a message.

We've been getting calls from this phony outfit for weeks, if not months. They always ask for cc#, or SS#, and if you don't give them those, then they ask for just the last 4 digits of SS#. No way, jose. Not gonna get it. So we asked them to send us a bill (they said we owed $90 for a citi health card, which we've never had, and the last citi account we had was closed in 1999, and credit report shows this to be true). So we ask them to send us a bill, and they hang up. Every time. FTC, here I come. I'm lawyered up.

This is Citibank Collections. They also use 423-477-6983 and 972-655-0010. Want to get rid of them? Call (866)458-7618 and tell them that you do not have a Citibank card or a Home Depot card or any late charge card that is owned by Citibank and they will take you off their auto-dialer. Just press the "Language" key prompt and wait through the rest of the prompts and someone will answer. Done.

this number (CTI on called ID) has called 5 times this week. Left one prerecorded message with a call back number. Just called again at 8:30 AM. Stop calling me!

They took my number off their list. They asked for a Mariya, obviously wrong number.

He said he was from Citi Card and that we were 6 days late on a payment. This is a scam!!!! I have not had a Citi Card for about 8 years. He was trying to get information.

I too called and the lady asked for my SS# which I did not give her. I think bottom line is that this is fishy and no one should be giving out any of their personal information. If you have an account with a company they should leave you a message and say they are calling about a specific account # ending in and then the last four digets. Seems this company has gotten their hands on a list and is calling to get personal info. for their own personal use.

I don't even have a Citi card...they must have me confused with the previous owner of this phone number.

I called the number back and they asked if I had a CITI account and I probably do but I never use it so then they asked for my social security number. Wait a minute! I don't think so. I asked that they take me off their calling list and they didn't say they would. Strange. Very strange.

Called for the umpteenth time @ 1:15PM EDT 16 July 2007. Lady: "May I speak with ________?". Me: "There's no one here by that name". Lady: "Thank you.". She hung up. This number shows up on caller ID daily but now that there's been notification that the requested party does not live here, it will be interesting to see if it shows again.

They asked for someone I don't know and appoligized. They called 4 times within 1/2 hr. I blocked the number but the log shows they are still calling.

This dang number keeps calling me on my cell...upwards of 10 calls a day.. it is always dead air. This is irritating and it wastes my time and minutes.

Received a call yesterday. I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. Today I called the number and immediatley they wanted my credit card #. When I asked which card, they said Citi card, I told them I don't have that card. Then I hung up.

These morons call our house anytime from 7 am till 9 pm including Saturdays and Sundays! I so want to pick the phone up and give 'em a good ole' Southern cussin' but it's our policy to NEVER answer unidentified calls. This is the only reason we keep our landline and don't give our cell phones numbers out at all. From what I see here, we have no dealings with these people. If they are stupid enough to continue calling a number that won't answer, then have at it. Our phone has an off button!!

No message. I called back because this happens frequently. He asked what I was calling about. I said I don't know. He asked if I had a home depot, shell or Sears card. I said no. He said well, I can't pull up an account. It just gets so maddening. Choking is too good for them.

Left a pre-recorded message to call their 800 number regarding my account (which I don't have). However, it's a legit number for Citi/Sunoco collections; in my case they're looking for someone who conveniently gave out the wrong number (being mine) in their application. Call them back and they'll kindly take your number off their lists if it's in error.
