Old City of Coral Springs phone number is on fraud list

Multiple citizens throughout the nation have complained that they have received numerous calls from 954-346-1212. This used to be a City number over a year ago, but was disconnected when fraud complaints started coming in.

The caller tends to call repeadetly and hangs up. If you receive a phone call from this number, do not pick it up or call it back. Picking up or returning the phone call will validate your number. Once the number has been validated, this may lead to fraud or potential sales calls. In some cases, a live person may call back, offer you a prize and ask for personal information.

If you think you have been a victim of identity theft, please register with the National Do Not Call List at donotcall.gov or by calling 1-888-382-1222. You may also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at ftc.gov

They called my cell today and yesterday and did not leave a message. I don't answer calls from unknown callers.

This person called and asked for Kassie..I didn't recognize the voice and I have gotten calls from this number before and they just hang up. I called this number back and it said that the number had been disconnected.

They need their heads MURDERED IN, to include the ears, nose, thorat, lips, and other key features, SO I give these PRICKS FOUR SNAPSDOWN IN A HELLISH FORATION, the FARGIN' BASTAGES....

They keep calling - usually several times a day. By the time I get to the phone it stops ringing. caller ID shows no name.

They have called me at home and now at work, the girl asked on the other line to speak to Robert and then hungup.

This number calls me at least 4 times a day, yesterday I answered when I was at work and asked who they are and what they want. They said they were some College crap, told them I was at work and was not interested. This # has called back again today, I picked up and hung up.... When you try calling back, it says the # is disconnected.

I keep getting phone calls from this number and they hang up. The last time though, they left a message, and it was a woman just humming a random song. Anyone know what is going on?

This # has called continously and never leaves a message. I answered a few times but no one responded and I called the number back but it said it was a disconnected # and to try again. I registered my # on the "do not call" gov list but I'm not sure it will help.

I bet its a telemarketing scam that has people call somehow stolen or intercepted nubers to see if the number is good. If it is then they compile a list and sell them to other telemarketing firms. Very easy to lose your number to these people by putting it on any internet websites

Just started getting calls this week, but not on my cell phone. They call my work phone and they never leave a message.

My caller ID says the number is from Coral Springs Florida. I am on the do not call list but they continue to call me at 10:30 EVERY MORNING I have also gotten calls from this number at 4 IN THE MORNING. This has to stop!

do not answer these calls, companies steal cell services via these calls. Report the number to the federal do not call list as spam calls are subject to fines up to 11,000$

I have got repeated phone calls from then to my cell phone and I do have Verizon.

Called my verizon cell. I am pretty sure this is some kind of bill collection activity, but I could be wrong.

Received another call to my cell phone from this number today. When I call back (from a land line) , I receive a "this number is no longer in service" message.

I received a new cell phone back in April or so, and ever since, have received calls from this number periodically.

Recieved 2 calls today from this number. They pose as educational assistance / carrer change. They get your number from an offer for free stuff via email. they say you have to answer some questions, like phone, name, birth even the social security number. If the SS is given thats your identity gone. These are bad guys that it seems have yet to be stopped. Law enforcement needs to act.

I have been recieving phone calls for the past two days from this number and have missed the calls due to being at work.. I tried calling it back and it said it was dissconnected. so i left it as that. But we'll see if I get anymore phone calls from this number tomorrow.

I notice alot ask if cell service is Verizon, mine is TMobile, so they are not partial to who they call I guess....a number of calls, nothing ....voice mail, hang ups...wastes my time, my minutes...irritating

I have been receiving calls from this number daily, sometimes up to 3 times a day, for the past month. I never answer and they never leave a message, but I am also getting calls from another number almost immediately after. Its a 201 area code, is anyone else getting called from that number, too?

Is there a way to block this number from calling? I missed the call, called it back. After a few rings, it went to the automated, "We're sorry, this number has been disconnected - please call back, or check the number again."

Been getting calls from this number for a couple of days. No one answers and when I called back it says disconnected. I looked it up on reverse phone # and I'll be darned if I'll pay to see who it is. Probly the only thing I'll get for my money is that it's in Coral Springs.

i can't imagine that these people are getting so much out of dedicating themselves to calling so many people relentlessly,they've been calling me for the past 2 weeks,get over yourselves!

I thought this to be very odd, must be some telemarketer or what not maybe an old time, war dialer? Just a thought.
btw My # is listed ont he national DNC list and has been for months, so who knows.

They called asking for someone I dont know. I told them that they had the wrong number. Definitely not a call that you want to take.

I actually spoke to someone when they called. Said he was from an online education program. They wont stop calling. They also call from the number 1-800-793-0282.

They called me this morning @ 9:23am. I didn't answer the phone, because I didn't know who it was. I thought if it is important they would leave a message; but they did not. Who are these people? Apparently they are from Coral Springs Florida!!

I talked to Verizon today. They said to pay attention to your phone bill. These people can use your number and clone it and rack up you minutes. Make sure you report to your phone company that this number called, so if there is a problem with your phone bill, you will not be responsible.

The call came in I didn't answer it. Number only. Googled it and found this page and one more. complaintsboard.com There was a person there claiming this is a Identity Theft Ring. Stating DO NOT ANSWER or CALL BACK this number. Is it true? I Have no Idea but I will take caution as if it is.

I thought that this was a number for the Jail in Coral Springs because I did some research and found out the main switchboard number for the police dept was 954-346-1200 so I called that and they said the 1212 number does not belong to them anymore and for me to contact bell south.

This number called me today and there was no one talking...I said hello several times and then heard them disconnect. I called back several times during the day and it was busy.

I received a call from this number twice today. This is on the same level as SPAM is to email. Since there are this many complaints the phone company responsible for that number should look into this issue.... at least as a courtesy to all these other paying phone customers. If it's some kind of mistake in the phone lines, then the mistake can be corrected. But if the caller is doing this on purpose then they should have their phone disconnected!

I have been recieving calls since 01/08/2007 at 8:35 pm they have called several times and the second I awnser there is a busy signal and when you try to call and there is either a busy signal or it rings forever. They never leave a message and it is ticking me off!!! :(
