Who Called Us

May 2008: I've been getting calls from this number several times a week for over a month now. I do not answer and there is no message left. The frequency is annoying!!!

man (sounded indonesia or pueortor rican) claimed to be selling a free sattilite package ansd continued upon asking me about my current television package offer.

Keeps Calling. No message is ever left.

Ok so Holiis, Hurst may be another victim (per previous posting). I want to put a stop into this but I have no money or anything else to offer but my contempt. This number always calls me day/night sometimes 2x a week. No answer. I let it go to VM since I dont know the number and it will cost me $ to pick up. No mesg on VM just nothing. Same story like most postings. Thank God I've heard of this "winning" scam even before this. ID theft is the last thing I need. I do hope there is a gov't agency reading into this and will do something about it. People who are posting here are only a few of those being called. I live in Canada and after reading the postings I guess its happening across the US too. We all just happen we know how to use the internet and look the # up. How about all the other people contacted? Either they scratch their heads and get annoyed or if they're "lucky" enough to win-- give their confidential info and thank heavens for their luck. God save us all.

This person called on 1/8/08 and 1/9/08. I tried calling the number back and was told it was not a working number. I am also on the DNC list.

Wow --- this is crazy. I just got on-line to try to determine who has been trying to get a hold of me from FL. It seems hard to believe that this can be happening for almost two years and no one has been able to put a stop to it. Thanks for taking the time to document your experiences. I will be sure not to pick up when the number comes up again.

I have spoke with individuals at Telus Mobility and this is not 1st or 3rd party company, it's a total scam. These individuals try to get your personal information in order to process funds out of your account. You will not receive a free phone and that is the catch. These individuals suck you in with a free phone and you give out your sensitive information. JUST BE CAREFUL. If anything, call Telus Mobility back and say that you received a call from them and believe me, all phone companies are businesses, they want your business/money. In any case, any phone company will give you the plan and phone, if the deal actually exists.

They called before we were awake and let the message machine come on but they didn't leave a message.

He said he was going to send me a free cell phone - I told him that I was on the "do not call list" and hung up. He had a fake accent.

The guy called me that I won Telus cell phone but hung up when I asked him why he is calling from US

Toronto, got a call from this number with heavily accented woman telling me I won phone from Telus. Was beligerent and unclear. Hung up quickly.

have been receiving calls intermittently from this number since - 2 or 3 times a day. Extra frustrating, as they are calling my cell phone.

I received a call from this number on Dec. 18th at 12:10p EST., when I answered caller hung up! Callerid identified the call as "North Port, FL"

I'm in Toronto, Canada. A heavily accented caller woke me up at 8:15am to tell me I'd been selected to "win" a "free phone" from Telus Mobility. After questioning him as to why, he hung up, so I hit *69 (last number dialed) and it told me the last number to call my line was 941-426-3630.

Caller was rude, probing, and creepy to 22 year old female child care helper. Never identified self or company. Receiver disconnected call quickly.

Seems this has been going on for a long time, based on all the posts I see here.
Call ID simply said "Florida".
I did not answer.
When the answering machine kicked in, the caller hung up without saying anything.
I'm also on the DNC list, for what that's worth.
Looks like a world class wack job !

I followed up with a call to the Florida Attorney Generals office. I recommend future callers consider the same option.

I received a called form this number as well. The caller identifiied himself as being with Sprint. I did let him know repeatedly that I was on the National No Call Registry. He called me an (expletive) liar. He would not identify his employee number or transfer me to a supervisor.

Eventually, I hung up and called the media relations number on the Sprint.com site. The gentleman I spoke to was a)very pleasant and b) surprised by this. He believes it may be a phishing site--someone trying to get perdoanl information. He was going to do some research and follow up with me at a later date.

The numbers 716-450-8578 (Jamestown NY) and 941-426-3630 (Northport Florida) are SCAMS. Whoever knows how to find out who the fuck these douche bags are, e-mail decriminalize_freedom@yahoo.com please.

Sounded east indian - when I advised we were on Do Not Call list and I was goig to report, he hung up. When I did *69, this number was given to me. I called back and was advised by automatic reply that number was no longer in service or disconnected!

keeps calling my house but I don't answer. I work for a phone company & are receiving numerous reports about this number calling varied numbers in varied zip codes 29648 & 29655 & 29639 one of which reported abusive language from caller who was trying to sell her a cell phone and when refused cursed & now calling her 4 to 5 times a day. Needs to be stopped. Suggesting to customers harrassment procedures.

Answered the phone, heard a few clicks and waited to see if anyone was there. But then it was silence. Caller id said florida.

Best way to deal with?
Tell them to hang on you'll be right back or that you need to go to another phone, then set the phone down and let them burn their time.

Got the same call like everyone else....but as I was looking the number up on this site I got another call from the same people this time however it was a number from Lakewood NY 716-526-0080 Told the guy not to call again.... I said that I work for the FBI investigating these types of calls and I would shut him down Not true but if it works

Call came through (again) with Florida and 941.426.3630 on caller I.D. No sound at first like typical phone center call, then typical phone center background noise with disgusting heavy breathing, and then when I demanded, "Who is this?" a male voice responded, "Fuck you asshole."

Called and said he was from sprint and offering a free phone. I said I did not want a free phone, my boyfriend heard me talking to him and grab the phone from me and said he wanted a free phone. He gave all his info to the caller. When I tried to call the number back it was disconnected. When I called sprint they said they did not have my boyfriend registered in their system. So it was not them who called. Now I am worried that the caller will use my boyfriend info for identity theft and credit. Hopefully it is no one crazy to also try and break into our house.

Been getting calls twice a day, but no one is there. yelled Hello and foriegn acccent guy say i won a Sprint phone. However, got rude when I ask his name and company.

Called Sprint at 800 639 6111, and they were no also rude about this call

This phone number with only ID "Florida" was on my caller ID. No one home at 7:01 pm, 6/18/07, when call came in. No message on answer machine.

This guy called my 11 year old daughters friend's house while they were having her over for the night. My daughter answered the phone and said a heavily accented man started to say "inappropriate" things to them. I asked my daughter what exactly he said, but she was too embarrassed to repeat it. He called them 4 times, 7:16pm, 7:19pm, 7:21pm, 7:22pm on Monday, June 4. I asked the friends mother to record all the info off caller ID but apparently it is stolen info and this guy could be calling from anywhere.

Called at 1:09 AM and tried to get me to buy a cell phone. Called back and it was disconnected. Used to call frequently, but that was the first time they've called in a while. I told them never to call me again.

A guy named Mike offered me a free Sprint phone and plan. Giggled a lot and wanted to be 'friends'

I am receiving calls each weekday from this number. My answering machine is picking up and I hear only a dial tone for the message.

Disconnected Number - no response from anyone when I answered phone. Its not hard to spoof Caller ID data when Calling from a VOIP or Computer. Which would make a reasonable person think these people are actively and maliciously trying to evade the law.

I have been receiving calls from 941-426-3630 for two weeks now, when I call the message states this number is disconnected or no longer in service. He doesen't even talk to say "wrong number" or anything. It just hangs up and then dail tone. He's calling my cellphone which is very annoying especially when I receive calls on a daily basis from clients and my editor.

Hollis Hurst was a member of the Army Air Corp during World War II. he was accepted into West Point but never attended. This is no spam.

This number called this AM under Unknown Name. Answering machine picked up & call was dropped. When I dialed back the number a recoring said the number was "disconnected or out of service."

Guy with thick accent wanted to send me a free cell phone. I told him I wanted to be on his DNC list....he asked "what is that". I said if you don't know, you are going to jail and he hung up.

I called Qwest in frustration; they suggested after receiving the call, hanging up and dialing *57 which would trace the call . . . after three successful traces, the number is disconnected. So far I've had one opportunity to dial *57. If we all do it, maybe it'll put an end to this annoyance? Each trace costs $1 -- small price to pay to get rid of the calls.

No response when I said "Hello", but when I pressed the # button several times, the voice on the other end then said hello 2 or 3 times. I hung up.

This ACCENTED speaking moron said he was from the FBI and if I didn't accept the cell phone from SPRINT he would prosecute.I called the phone company,contact 13,and the FBI and they can't/won't do anything about this GNAT! WHAT ELSE can we do?

I have had these calls for the past several weeks, and get the disconnected messages also and the phone company says there is nothing they can do even though we are listed on the DNC list. This is crazy you don't have any protection from people like this!

Get a call from these ppl every few weeks, finally picked up phone today, guy said something about "Sprint", I just hung up.

Recieved call from this number this morning offering me a free sprint cell phone. "Sam" was very rude, gave me NY info for FL number and wanted me to file a complaint so he could get fired and out of his contract. ?????INSANE! I'm DNC registered and I've contacted phone company, local police and was recommended to e-mail state attorney general's office, call FCC and phone company's annoyance call bureau. Call trace will electronically document repeated nuisance calls and get source number not just the FL number that shows on CID. Check if your phone company offers this service.

Phone call at 10:23AM on 2/2/07. Caller ID said Hurst Holiis. 84663 I answered to hear a man calling himself Simon Dufel or Bufel (I asked the spelling, but his accent was so thick, I'm not sure) saying I won a Sprint phone. I began questioning him and next thing I know he is sprouting off all kinds of foul language which he later expained that he was talking to a colleague of his and the words were directed at him. I asked where they got my number from and he said that the company had paid $10 to the Do Not Call service for my number. ????? I asked to speak to his supervisor who said his name was Shawn. He apologized for Simon and calling us if we were on the Do Not Call List. He said they would not call again.

Got a hangup call at 5:25PM CST, 1/12/07............ Tried to call the number back, and got a message saying it was disconnected.

Got call from this # several times. I called it back early one morning and spoke to a man named Hollis Hurst in Florida, sounds like an elderly man. He told me that someone is using his phone # from a remote location and scamming people into giving up personal info. He said he is talking with the FBI to try to put an end to it.

Sprint does not exist in NV, it's now called Embarq. This must be a scam.

We just found out about all the calls reported on this web site. Our phone number was stolen in May when we returned north to our home. Our phone is disconnested at that time. We returned to this number in mid--September and had it turned back on. We have been getting calls from all over the U.S. from people who thik we have been calling. We do not have long distant service on this no. We use our cell phone. This has not been pleasant for us receiving up to 50calls in an evening. Most people have been very nice when we tell them the problem. The telephone co. tells me that nothing can be done on this end since the calls are not coming from here. We have several parties that have reported it to the FBI, local Sheriff and local police. Many people who have talked to the gentlemen making the calls have given him their S.S. no. and some have also faxed their Driver's license. We would just like people to know that this is not pleasant for us and we would like to have the person doing this stopped.

Let the answering machine pick up. The call was terminated w/no message.

we have been getting calls right around 8:30PM PST on Mondays and Tuesdays from this number--I did call it back and got a woman--they called again 1/2/07--I am reporting it to a friend that w*orks for Las Vegas Metro Police Department.

9/10/06 PO code 14094 Showed on caller ID- did not know name so waited for a message to be left on answering machine, none. Called the number and it is disconnected, really strange!!!

Have been called for the past 3 months or so with no answer. Most recent was sept 07, 2006 at 7:40. I live in the denver metro area

They call everyday, i pick up say "hello" and no one says anything so i hang up. I'ts quite annoyning.

According to the caller ID HH has phoned several time without leaving a message. When I answer there is only dead air. It's really annoying!

Five days in a row. I answer the phone and there is no one there. This is infurating. Is it an attempt to collect data of some kind either verbal or through phone lines or just a stupid prank?

This caller called on Aug. 30, 28, 27. Didn't call back, deleted number from my phone.

I told him I knew this was a scam and was going to report them
