Repeat calls... hang ups never leaving messages. PESTS! Called 917-213-23170 back with voice message saying not in service. Like I'm interested in buying online drugs with this so called drug company. Looks like the telemarketers are helping themselves to the inventory. GO FIGURE!

Called six times. Once a person answered saying they were an online pharmacy. After telling her I was not interested and not to call again, it was after 9 p.m., I hung up. The phone rang two more times, but no one answered. I called the number back and received a message that the number was "not in service". I turned off the phone and went to bed.

I tried to call back the number but I get the message "The number you have dialed is not in service.".

Just blocked them by pressing *60, you must have this feature on your phone to be able to do this.

We have received calls from this number recently despite having an unlisted private number and being on the national do-not-call list.

These are the calls that I took off of my Caller ID, as far back as it would go. These calls have been coming into my phone for a long time now and there is never anybody there when I answer. They are always Out of Area and Unidentified Caller. If I hang up, the calls just happen again. I have had phone calls from the number 917-213-2170 at night when I am in bed and have to take the phone off of the hook when I go to bed, so that won't ring all night. This is very distrubing and I wish they would stop, or at least someone would be there when I answer, so that I can find out what they want. I am registered on the Do Not Call List; my phone number is 775-747-6919.

This is a real nuisance. They called me several months ago even though I am on the DO NOT CALL list. I called the 866 504 0270 last time and they assured me I would not receive any more calls. BUT today, 3/36/08 they did it again. I called the 866 number again and they apologized again.
We should all file complaints with the Do Not Call list and state attorney general.

Calls 5 to 6 times every day from 9:00 AM till as late as 900PM. I finally got that number blocked.

I just called the phone number from Ray H's comment (1-866-504-0207) ...An Indian man from this so called pharmacy RX company came on the phone and he said that he took my cell phone number off the list. I hope this works for good! Its been over two years of this bullshit.

I just said I am on the no call list and he said sorry & I hung up I can block them if they keep this up!! I think since AT& T has our approximate ages listed with the phone numbers they are calling seniors. And I think Medicare and Social Security is giving out information becouse they use names people have never used. Like Medicare uses your first name even if you have never used it before, Not on any legal papers, filing taxes or on a bank account. Must come from some records that should be kept private. You start Medicare and all of a sudden you get mail using the name on your medicare and shows up on your telephone listing in directory assistant "White Pages", when your local bill & directory does not use it since your bill comes to the name everyone knows you by!!.

The calls hae started again(last call was August 2007). I called the number for this company and complained to "Rita" (real name Savidxa) and she promise no more calls. I urge everyone to call the company and complain. (1-866-504-0207) Also contact the FCC and file a complaint.

caller selling prescription drugs from India- normally I don't pick up but this time they were able to pick a name from a list of callers that I actually pick up on and replaced the normal caller id of "unavailable" with this name. So the phone company must be in on this.

This is in response to 'Lynn': I believe you are working for these guys, I bet you just love hearing all of the comments about the harrassment! I hate these guys and I always try to talk to the 'manager' when I get a call (usually right when I am about to eat supper) but for some reason the manager is always busy.

I had a problem but called them and it stopped, then started again, I called, then stopped. But then started 4 months later. The only way I got them to quit was answere the phone and wait until it connected to India. I then started placing fake orders with them. When they caught on to me and asked why I was doing it, I said I was going to waste their time just like they are wasting my time. It finally stopped for good, I hope.

Just a comment to some obviously frustrated persons here who have been suffering from too many calls from globaldiscountdrugs.com people. If any of you have to buy drugs, you should shop their site. Search your drug alphabetically then click on the drug name for pricing. My husband and I have used them for the past 4 years for all of our drugs. The products ship in the manufacturer's foil packets, come in an envelope and only take about 2-3 weeks to get here. They will tell you who they ship from if you ask. They are extremely diligent about service, that's why they call so much. You can request a reminder call for any number of days or months. I tolerate the reminders I don't need just because the service and the product and the price are so great. Most pricing beats Mexico. Just do your shopping and price comparisons, but these guys do a terrific job. I just ordered today and the young man I spoke with said that they have now branched out to handle name-brand drugs (globaldiscountdrugs is all generic) so he gave me the site for name-brand of internationaldrugmart.com. This is a family owned business and one of their employees left the company and started his own company and swiped the customer list. That is why so many unwanted solicitations under a similar name have been going on.

Been getting about 1 a day from this number, on my cell phone. I don't answer, but I did file complaints with the FCC and donotcall.gov. The most effective way to get back at a telemarketer is to keep them on the line as long as possible, then don't but anything.

4 days, no more calls. The New York number is some type of autodailer. It calls, if someone picks up, it then connects you to the company in India, sometimes.

These damn people have been calling me daily since July 1. I've filed complaints with the do not call registry, to no avail. I've even called local police and they can't do anything. I guess the next step is the FCC.

Finally after 3to 4 times a day this number calls a name came up. The name that came up on the caller ID was Nora Hodge. This person should be locked up. A complant has been filed with the local police.

Okay, this seems to have worked, so far. Call the toll free number (1-866-504-0207) and ask for a supervisor. I talked to a girl named Rose (a real common name in India), but when I pressed her for a last name, she admitted that she was told to use that name (now we are getting somwhere). I CALMLY told her that I had filed several complaints with the FCC about the repeated phone calls. I told her that her company was in violation of several US laws. One being the display of a non-working number (I think that is against the law) and secondly, the calls to persons on the Do Not Call List. I told her I wanted to have my number removed from their auto dialer immediately. She said she would verify that my number had not been previously used to do business with, and would remove it then. Today---NO CALLS!!!!

I have gotten phone calls from this number for about 3 weeks now. Sometimes 2X or 3X a day. They hang up as soon as I answer or if answering machine picks up,It is getting annoying. I tried calling back but number not in sevice.

I got at least a dozen calls from 917-213-2170 today on 8-13-07. Never leaves a voice-mail. Hangs up without speaking when I answer. On the last call this evening, a man with an Indian accent finally spoke up and said he was looking for someone with a drug prescription order. I told him he had the wrong number and gave him hell. Hope this resolves the problem...

The FCC site is easy to google and they have an online complaint form. Maybe if they get lots of complaints they will act.

I should also add that the phone call that I got from this number this morning was the first one in which I actually spoke to a person. I've gotten countless other phone calls from this number previously, in which the person on the other end hung up as soon as I answered the phone and I really and truly hope that the information which I have just shared is of help to all of you who, like me, are going to or have reported this number.

I recently got a call from this number this morning - one of many and there was some lady on the other end, whom I confronted about the illegal activity which she was participating in and she denied it, even mentioning that the company was out of India - some generic prescription drug company. Anyway, the company is called International Drug Mart and she gave me the puone number for their main office, as well as their website and according to her, this phone number is toll free:

Personally, I think that everybody who gets a call from this number should immediately report this to the FCC, also sharing the additional information which I have provided here. This company's illegal practices need to be stopped and the more information about them that one has, that's more information about them that one can pass on to the FCC, who is most likely going to be investigating these claims, if they aren't already.

Calls sometimes two to three times in a row and always no body there. Return call goes to generic voicemail. Probably looking for live pick-ups so they can sell you something in the future. Sleazy and seedy, to say the least.

Getting calls from 917-213-2170 at least twice a day. Have DNC. What can be done?

2 weeks of calls to my business line. They never leave a message. I called the number back, and the operator says the number is not in service. For those that don't know, this (917) area code is used for cell phones in this area(NYC metro). What kind of scam BS is this. Obviously the FCC and the government have not responded to anybody's requests here. We need to find out who this number is registered to and with which company. Maybe the carrier will do something about this.

Received 4 just today, Saturday August 4th, no answer - nothing.

For those complaining about/to the Do Not Call list, don't bother. This number is from India, and the U.S. Do Not Call registry has no jurisdiction there. They can call as often as they like. Your only recourse is to block the number or contact the Indian government as ask them for (snort) "help." Good luck with that.

Received a call on 4/14 and caller ID identified it as Mckinsey and Company. The foreign speaking lady on the phone was trying to sell generic drugs at lower prices

Called twice on 4-12-07. These people should be taken to the barn and horse whipped and then summarily executed. These are evil SOBs and the neo-French Revolution cannot come too soon for us to lop off their stinking heads.

Tried to register a complaint with the FCC with this number, since calls are starting to escalate. But the FCC's software is at fault, and defaults back to saying it can't register the number. It thinks you are registering to be put on the do not call list, but I clearly was using the complaint tab aspect. I've never had any number that has went on as long as this one has. It's been about eight months now of nothing but hang-ups. Not sure what else to do, but appreciate everybody elses feedback on this.

Well, after I talked to the very insistant Indian gentleman the night before and told him he had the wrong number and so what, I wasn't interested anyway, got a call from them the next day again...this one the usual "I answer and they hang-up."

So, I blocked the number.

I received a call from this same number yesterday at nearly the exact same time (1:00 PM). Yesterday I let it go into vice mail. No message was left. Today I answered the call and said hello twice and got no reply.

Because yes, this is a telemarketing drug firm. They have called several times, twice a day for the last few days.

Usually, no one is around, twice have answered and just got the predictive dialer hangup, but I did note the "new york cell phone" id and was a bit surprised.

Last night they called again and I actually talked to a man with a distinct Indian accent. He was very insistant on talking to "Jane Doe," my mother who died long ago.

The thing is, the only people who had MY number for her were her pharmacies and doctors and Medicare.

So, the only logical explaination is that a pharmacy chain sold the list of clients. I doubt it would have been the Doctor's office or Medicare.

We used Canada Drugs and CrossBorder in Canada, as well as a local neighborhood pharmacy, which just went out of businss and sold transferred all those RXs to Safeway, a large grocery chain.

It could have been any of them that sold the information.

I just insisted they had the wrong number, but the guy really didn't believe me, nor would he let it go.

I finally hung-up. Be curious if they call today.

I've also received numerous telephone calls and see that I'm not alone. Who the heck is this person???? Now I know to block the number. Thanks everyone!

March 6, 2007 I called Global Discount Drugs today (866-504-0207) and talked to someone named Kevin. I asked to speak to the manager. I was told he wasn't there, but his name is Steven Amil, in charge of US sales. I told him someone at the NY cell number was using that number to harass people, and that the line should be shut down. Of course I said a lot more, but won't go into the specifics here. He said he was sorry and that they would remove my number from the calling list. (They do have it, because I forgot to block my call before I made it). I will only believe my number was successfully removed after the calls stop; but you can get thru to a real person and get a rational response. I am sending my log of calls and narrative of all the people I have talked to, to try to resolve this issue, to the FTC, along with this updated information. Many telemarketers use "predictive dialing" technology to call consumers. A computer dials many phone numbers in a short period of time. When an individual answers, the computer seeks a sales representative who is not occupied at that time and connects the call. If all of the sales reps are on calls, the consumer hears dead silence. These are "abandoned calls."

This has been happening for some time now. At one point, A woman responded, and asked for our son who moved out over two years ago. Something about prescriptions.
I'm thinking about getting one of those aeresol air horns, or a really loud whistle, and just blasting into the phone whenever they call. At least I'd get a bit of satisfaction out of their annoying interruptions!

And here I thought that I was the only one to be singled out and honored with the attention of this creep. But was I reassured to know I'm not alone? I have actually been getting phone calls from this # for over a year. It comes in spurts, and right now it is averaging 2-3 calls a week. At other times I would receive calls 2-3 times a day. They always hang up, and have never spoken to me. WTF. What purpose would that serve?

Called twice in one night asking for someone who has not resided at address for over three years.

Note; for the do not call list, the letters confirming my complaints in the past mention that they are not a policing agency. Rather they hang on to complaints and once some threshold of complaints is reached they will take action. Also, if you are on the list and provide your phone number or similar personal information, you are tacitly consenting to being contacted unless you explicitly state otherwise. Thus, you may have consented or been perceived as having consented to being contacted by a less than reputable organization which may have sold your number to this particular scam. I rarely supply my information for any reason and when I do, I state "this in no way implies consent to be contacted for any sales or other purpose."

We have been getting calls from this number for months. When we do answer, they usually hang up even though I can hear them breathing. Tonight was the first time someone actually said something to me. It was a woman who asked for someone by name. It sounded like "Augustine," but the woman had an accent, so I couldn't tell for sure. I assured her that no one by that name is at the number she dialed. She continued by telling me that the call was regarding prescription drugs. I told her once again that the person she asked for is not at the number she dialed. She said, "I'm so sorry to have bothered you," and hung up.

First of all, I can't figure out what they could possibly gain by calling, and secondly, if they are trying to sell something, why do they hang up? The Do Not Call list is a JOKE. It does not work, it's worthless, and they do NOTHING with the complaints, I ASKED. So it's up to US to take matters into our own hands and "take care" of these slimeballs. Find some online p-or-n sites, mortgage and financing sites and the like (all the types that spam people), and subscribe all their email addresses to that, and ph #'s as well where possible. Get magazine subscriptions, vacuum cleaner try-outs, etc., etc., sent to their street addresses. Use your imagination and they'll get what they deserve!

rec'd calls from this number for months, I finally called back on 10-06-06 I rec'd a recorded message saying that I have reached "Dept of Homeland Security" I call-blocked it

These criminals called again on Friday evening 9-15-06 at 8:31 PM. I refused to open the line. These slimes need a visit with madam guillotine in the worst way.

Calls and never leaves message...falsely identifies themselves as homeland security on voice mail when call back.

Well I actually have some USEFUL information on this company.

They are called Global discount drugs.

Now they are calling my cellular number. These people are crazy!

Getting several calls a week. My research says it is a land line even though it says wireless caller. Never leaves a message. Have called back and get message to leave message in the mail box or mial box full.

I've been getting 2-3 calls a week from this number. Whoever is calling waits for me to say hello once or twice and then hangs up. I have also gotten voice mails, but they don't say anything before hanging up.

This is tmobile phone he is calling from folks. I believe he is getting our numbers possibly-just theory from pharmacy. I know this because I am not listed as the name on our phone or address-yet he knew my name and it is different from owner. I am working with the pharmacy first..

NY 917 213 2170 is a cell phone, (Omnipoint Communications that was bought out by VoiceStream Wireless.) If anyone finds the number for the main office please print here as I'd like to report it.

I have received atleast three phone calls from this number, but I have also experienced numerous other "restricted" phone calls (somewhere around 15) all of which result in hang ups. Has anyone else received similar calls from a restricted phone number?

I average 3-5 calls a month from this number, nobody ever speaks, but hangs up. I've called back this number, but it says "caller is unavailable." These people are irresponsible as hell with a phone! If the FCC was sincere about fining people with this "do not call list" surely this number qualifies.

Telemarketing call trying to seel international prescription services. They keep calling despite the number being on the national do not call list and having been told to not call anymore. They seem to call periodically. File a complaint with the FCC on donotcall.gov if your number is registered!
