Who Called Us

Found this page by googling 800-370-1890. Had been supposed to collect money for American Lung but now think it is a scam. They said that I send donation requests to neighbors and didn't need to identify myself. Now found that I have to identify myself because I collect the money and send it back. One good way to get money is to have someone people know ask. They feel safer giving and feel pressured to give. I Googled American Lung and sent them an e-mail asking if they were doing such a campaign and got no reply. I decided it was a scam so didn't collect money. Got a call thanking me for helping and saying if I had questions to call the 800 number above. Your experience here continue to make me think it is a scam.

My Mom is 93. She gets at least 3 calls a day from "American Lung". How do I stop these calls?

They call every single day, at least twice a day, when my answering machine picks up, they hang up and don't leave a message.

Called on Sunday at 10:30 AM. Why would I give them anything when they call at early morning on a non business day?

Received a call from this number. When I answered a woman asked for my father, by name George _____________. I told her that he has been dead for several years and would be well over 100 years of age if he was still living. Then she asked if there was a Mrs. ________. I said that there was not since Mrs. ______ is long dead also. The caller said, "Okay". I said, "Is that it?" She said, "Yes." and hung up. This was weird!

calls two times a day no one answers when you pick up the phone, getting sick of this stuff hope someone brakes their phone!

Perhaps it's time to complain to the FCC that this is going on. I am on the "Do Not Call" list as well. Just because they are a charity, why are they allowed to ignore it? If that's not bad enough, to call and then hang up when someone answers is tantamount to harassment in my book. I think it needs to be reported.

these people call my house practically on a daily basis. They never leave a voicemail message. Sometimes the caller ID says American Lung, sometimes it just says unknown.

I just called the number back... an answering machine says that it is The American Lung Association. Then it offers a chance to have your number removed from their call list. Press 1 then 3. We'll see if it works.

Remember... being on the Federal Do Not Call List does NOT apply to charities or to telemarketers hired by a charity to do fundraising.

Answering machine took call...they listened to part of the message and hung up.

917-210-0241 called at 10am on 11/3/07. No message left. They call regularly, at least once a day, and never leave a message. If they want to talk to me, why don't they leave a message so I can call back? If they don't want to talk to me, then stop calling! I reported them to the government do not call list.

Been getting harassed by this number along with 2 other numbers for the last couple weeks. Requested they remove my number from their lists but they obviously are not doing so.

My caller ID only displayed New York Call, but I see American Lung on the Caller ID list above. Could it be that someone is being paid "per call dialed" instead of being paid by contributions collected?

Picked phone up off of cradle, put phone back on cradle. Repeat caller.

Multiple Calls each day. Requested multiple times to be removed from call list.

American Lung Association telemarketers. They call repeatedly and hang up as soon as someone answers the phone.

It has been calling every day for the past two weeks.

No message; have called numerous times but leave no message. I dont answer anything where caller id fails to identify, unless it is the rare occassion when I know whom is calling. I figure if they dont care to leave a message they dont really need to talk to me.

just showed the number and New York City, NY. Left no message. I guess being on the do not call list doesn't mean anything.

I just called a toll free number of the American Lung 1-800-370-1890. And told them to put me on there do not call list. I suggest if you are having a problem with them put your number on there do not call list.

This number has called every day for the past five days. Never leaves a message.

Day in /Day out ,day/ after day /morning, noon, and night--- sometimes American Lung Association will appear
on the caller ID and other times just the number or Out of Area---One time I decided to answer, I waited for a while, a voice asked me to wait and hung up--

Does American Lung Association know what is going on? Such a waste to hire people just to collect a paycheck and destroying a Charity that could help someone to find a cure.

Called today on Sunday at 1:14 , I didn't answer, they left no messge.

This number has been calling for days. Today at 8 am while I was still in bed. I looked up the number to see who this rude person is and am furious that its charity

I Get about a call a night from this number - ignore it, but they keep coming! I'm going to pick it up next time and tell them I'm on the 'do not call' list.... if there actually is someone on the other end.

Unless they are a mercenary call center that gets a client who is stupid enough to pay them for calls dialed rather than for actual performance. (In which case they are smart crooks instead of morons.)

Another hang-up upon answering and saying "Hello. .. Hello, may I help you?" I think they are looking for the female of the house.

After receiving several calls from this number where there was no one on the other line, I finally got a call with some one there. He identified himself as being from the American Lung Association.

Hangs up as soon as away message ends
