Received multiple calls in the same evening that rang only one time with caller id blocked. Finally answered with a recording saying it was US Cellular calling regarding my account and to call 1-888-939-3900. I don't have a US Cellular account. Call didn't sound legitimate. Think this may be a phishing call.

I've gotten this message twice and eventually I gave in and called and it was just another "call 1-800" number.

I have gotten this about 5 times in the last 3 days. I would really like them to stop calling me. Any suggestions on what to do to make them stop calling my phone.

I didn't know who this was when I received the call, so I checked here (Thanks!) and then called US Cellular's main support number. They said it was the finance department calling about a problem with our last payment, so for me it was a legitimate, although very poorly handled call. A valid CallerID and a more complete message would have kept it from sounding so suspicious. Of course, they may also use this number for phishing and solicitations...

We don't have a US Cellular account so this was a strange call. When I called back they asked if I knew anyone who would have listed my number as a contact; I said "no". So she took my home number and said she would report it to the "dial a call" group and have my number removed.

I have recived this call every day for the last week. They will call at various hours ( usually 1 or 2 P.M, or around 6:30 P.M). The message to me sounds non legit to me. I finally gave them a ring back and it just came up as U.S Cellular help. Today again they called and I answered but did not say anything, and neither did they. Then about a minute later they called back and left the same ANNOYING message!!! I do have a U.S Cellular phone and that is the number they are calling. I don't have any reason for them to be calling and have now I am getting quite annoyed! Hopeing these calls will stop.

Call the US Cellular Customer service line at 1-888-944-9400. I had been receiving a call from this # daily for weeks and when I called back would get a busy signal. The rep told me that someone must have given my phone # as a reference and she took my # off the call list within 24-48 hours.
I agree that is a poor strategy for a company to cold-call from a private # - really feels sneaky and like a scam. I haven't been and will never be a customer.

I just find this whole thing incredibly unprofessional and inexcusable. Seriously. I too, have been receiving these calls for about a month--up to 7 calls a day from Private Name Private Number, and get that annoying message about calling back regarding my US Cellular account. DON'T HAVE ONE!!!!! So after reading all of the comments, I decided to go ahead and call the number. It took forever to get to an actual representative and was on hold for about 6 minutes after that. When I finally talked to someone, she offered no explanation or apology, just said, "give it 24 hours and the calls should stop." then hung up.
Whatever. I'll tell you this much---I have been fed up with my cell phone and was looking for new service, but after this? Thank you US Cellular for taking some of the work away---you are one less company that I need to waste time looking into.

I've gotten the same call and message several times. Sometimes, they call 4 or 5 times a day. It says that it's U.S. Cellular and that I need to call them back regarding my account. The thing is though, my number is the 4th one on the account. I'm not the account holder. They called several times around the holidays and quit for a while.
