Please know that the calls AHA authorizes commercial fundraiser InfoCision to drill us with are often not properly announced via Caller ID. There is only so much "caring people" can stand of daily mystery calls which border on harassment, placed by a million-dollar business which keeps half or more of what it collects for its charity clients. Please don't try to claim that coaxing people to propagate your junk mail is not somehow soliciting funds.

A commercial fundraiser is expected to honor its own no-call list and add any number upon request. Break that order, the FTC declares, and "the telemarketer may be subject to a fine of up to $16,000."

Please know that the calls you are receiving are part of the American Heart Association’s Dear Neighbor campaign. We are reaching out to caring people to volunteer to send letters to their neighbors in February If you would like to volunteer, please answer our call. Or, to have your name removed, please call (877) 619-1828. Thank you!

These people call every day - sometimes more than once. My number is on the do not call list so apparently that is not working. I have called the number and get a recording that the number is not activated??? If these calls are coming from the American Heart Association, you can be assured that I will never donate a dime to their cause. Any suggestions are welcome.

They keep calling me but never leave a message. I do not answer caller ID's I do not recognize. How can I donate if I do not know who is calling.

2009-12-02 15:45:49 UTCjanet

I would like these calls to stop.

I submitted my name to the American Heart Association "Do Not Call" list on November 5th, 2009. Now they call me five times more often than before!

2009-11-21 13:59:06 UTCDan

Drives us nuts - calls every other day at 6:30

2009-11-20 18:46:00 UTCBillyBob

Last week or so, calls came at dinner time (EST). Today, two calls already, one at coffee break time and the other at lunch. If, in fact, it is AHA they appear to be trying to CAUSE heart attacks!

2009-11-14 16:49:38 UTCMargaret

wow, these people just don't stop - hundreds of calls from them using a variety of #'s. I try to block them, but they have so many numbers they use

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
