getting calls at 7:30am Thursday and Friday for the last month. Nobody is on the line when answered. I have called Icore back and have been assured it is a tech glitch and my number has been removed. I have had the same number for 7 years and they ask me for Alan. No Alan has ever lived here.

They match up names from the phone book, if you have the same name as the person they're looking for, they'll call you. Went through this a few years ago and that's how they explained why they called us after verifying that we weren't who they were looking for, now the calls have started again ...

if icor is calling its because they got your name, number and account from someone else who you've owed money to and refuse to pay back. This means you are the maker of your onw demise. Call back and settle the account.

We all got those emails in the late 90s, and here is the updated version of it. Everyone keep track of what you owe, and if you do have a creditor call you, know a repuatable company would be a physical person on the line with your full name and credit history and ready to talk about payment. It would not be a company that would ask you to call them back. You would recieve registered mail from a reputable company or recieve phone calls from someone actually on the line. Please remember this and give this company no money or personal information. Know that they call me three times a week like clockwork and I have never been in debt or owed any outstanding bills in my life. Man when will these guys ever stop. the calls start at 7 am and go on for hours. I mean they must call me at least 4 or 5 times a day.When I did answer the call one day there was nobody there, so I hung up so then when I heard about this site I stopped answering the phone until one day someone left a message stating they needed me to contact them as it was very urgent. Well I am not calling them and I am going to dial *57 and get these sick people shut down once and for all.

I got a couple books from Doubleday and have since sent them back and I keeping getting phone calls from Icor regarding the account. I have asked them 4 times to not call me before 8 am and they have refused to do so. I informed them that if they called again before 8 am I would be lodging a complaint. Ok, so you all you. If you get more then 1 call a week from any collections agency, then its called harrassment. They are only allowed to call you once a week. There was a law passed a few years ago. Its stop the harassment from these type of people. Also be known, once your account is more then 3 yrs old, they are no longer allowed to collect it. I enjoy having them call me. I tell them to take me to court and call them every name in the book. When they hang up, I call them again and again. I have even threatened them with bodily harm.

1) They keep calling, but all they do is leave a message saying;
"it's really important that you call them".
2) Or you answer the phone and there's no one there.
3) When you call them back, they are asking you a bunch of
personal questions like account #'s. We don't know of any
account numbers! What are we suppose to do, make one up? Or,
they're asking for your phone number. No one in their right
mind would confirm their own number to scammers like this! Or,
they're asking for your name, address, postal code and even your
DOB. We even had them ask us for our SIN numbers in the past.
What's that all about? They may be a collection agency, but all
there're collecting is personal information so they can help make
your life miserable.
4) When you ask them questions about why they are calling, they
just get rude with you, or they just hang up on you!
They think there're some kind of Big Shots who can bully you over
the phone. This type of telephone spam is known as phishing.

All have appeared on my cid in the last year.Normally, I do not answer long distance numbers like this, but one day this winter my DUMB fiancee answered it and they claimed that I owed them a cell bill from Rogers Wireless, which was cancelled more than 5 years ago after a service and billing dispute, which i thought had been cleared up since.The "lady" was quite rude and started to rant at him on the phone,demanding me. When I took the phone, I just listened for a min and heard her continue to rant.It made me sooo mad!! I told her to F#@% off, and to not call here anymore,I do not owe!Since then, they call me EVERY DAY, SEVERAL times a day from these different numbers, never the same one twice in a row.From what I have read they are considered scam artists because people who have never had the service, or, like me, do not owe on a previous service, are also being targeted.The numbers seem to all go through an Ottawa relay # 613-567-3100.They have a history of changing their company name,thus collecting the aforementioned phone numbers, but it is all the same company.They also try to tell people that they are a risk management company, and claimed a couple other company titles as well..IT IS A LIE!!They apparently also seem to be violating several laws regarding debt collection.If you are forced to talk to them for any reason, tell them you are setting up a call trace through your phone company.Request that they do not call you back,but, if they do, then you are going to record your conversations.Try to get a name each time they call, then tell them to send a letter requesting the collection to the address they have listed.. DO NOT GIVE THEM AN ADDRESS IF THEY ASK!!If they argue, say that if they really do have a bill, then they have the info already!!Calling on Sundays is also illegal.Whatever you do, DO NOT VOLUNTEER ANY INFO WHATSOEVER!! I called and asked why they are doing this and reminded
them of the provincial laws collection agencies should be
following regarding the number of times (3) they are allowed
to call us in a period of 1 week. The guy I was talking to
(Eric) just asked the numbers that called me. I told him
the 2 numbers listed above. He assured me that IQOR is not a
Telemarketer. I told him that; I know this! I told him I knew
who they are (IQOR former CBCL-it makes no difference too me).
I told this Eric that IQOR is not following the rules/laws
governing the frequency of their calls. I also told this Eric
to check the complaints online tonight.

If we consider the way this outfit (IQOR) conducts business;
1. Calling us many times in one day (breach of law),
2. Calling from different numbers in one day (breach of law),
3. Calling more than 3 times in 1 week (breach of law),
4. Calling when they've been told not to (breach of law),
5. Calling and they don't know who they want (breach of law),
6. Calling without any previous written notice (breach of law),
Etc., Etc., Etc., then it must be true, IQOR is a SCAM!!!

IQOR called again tonight at 8:57 PM from 1-877-503-2115.
3 minutes before they were to close up. We Dialed *57 again,
so that's twice we've put them on our caller trace list today.
We're not mad about this anymore. We're just letting them continue
with this harassment until we have even more proof of these unwanted
calls. We got this advice from our lawyer. We will however spend all
night helping the internet multiply the amount of complaints against
IQOR. By the morning there should be at least 20 more complaints
online about IQOR. It doesn't seem to bother them?

I get this call every day and it is just a machine talking. There is no reason for me to be getting a call from these people. I want to be taken off this calling list.

Notice how the calls came at the same time of day.
Both calles were traced using *57 and put on my phone companies

I keep getting calls for debts that I have run up the location of which I have never been there.I did talk to a supervisor twice now and explained that it was not my debt or had I ever resided at the location that the debt was established the other side of this country. icor is calling from outside of the country ( India ) so they are above reach. We need protection through federal laws to stop this kind of crap

613-232-7437 called at 4:10 PM today. This is some kind of relay number
that you can not return calls too. It is most likely used by many outfits
wanting it to appear that the call is local. It it used by everyone including Collection Agencies such as IQOR or the former CBCL; Canadian Bonded Credits Ltd. It's a faked number or spoofed number from Canadian Bonded Credit in Toronto ON. or the now called IQOR attempting to appear local to ottawa residents. Don't even call the number back, you will only hear that "this number is not in service", But it is in service! When I dialed *57, It said; "The number has been traced". So everyone should do this if you get a call from this number. So, GET IT ON YOUR CALL TRACE LISTS with your local Phone Company.

Another New Note For Today: 877-503-2115 called at 5:10 PM today.
One hour later I get this call from IQOR (877-503-2115).
First 613-232-7437 called at 4:10 PM
then 877-503-2115 called at 5:10 PM
Both calles were traced!!! It's Them!!! Who else?

Got another call from IQOR today.
Call came at 7:05 PM.
I was out, but when I returned I dialed *57.
The call was put on my phone company call trace list.
A group of us are ready to take action against them soon.
We are gathering up all the proper documents.
Photos, Letters, Bills, Receipts, Statments, Testimonies,
Log files and CID logs are all part of our proof of
IQOR's lack of respect and their continual harassment.
It's obvious to us that IQOR doesn't have all the facts!

Each time they called I called them back and thanked them
for calling. I told them they had been placed on my
Call Trace List set up with Bell Canada. I'm really
going to be getting my moneys worth now for an extra

They are harassing my family for no good reason.
Many people in the center of Ottawa seem to be having
simular calls from this iQor former CBCL telemarketer
collection company. Family members, building residents
and neighbourhood friends have all agreed to dial *57
after receiving calls from either 1-877-503-2115 or
1-866-294-1752. Call Trace costs $5.00 per call, but only
until $10.00 is reached in a monthly period. It will be
worth the extra $10.00 per month to get these miserable
people On A Call Trace List at the phone company
which the Police or RCMP can then investigate.

Called at 7:32 PM.
I called back right away.
Asked them to stop calling.
The first one to answer hung up on me.
The second one to answer laughed in my ear.

Calling for months...no message but leaves the last 4 digits of the phone number

Got another call from the collection agency IQOR-CBCL.
They had to make another call before the weekend. What am I talking
about? They'll call on Saturdays & Sundays too! They are mixed up scam
artists working for the main man who lives here and owes more money than
anyone else, with all of his stupid credit cards. Lets say you owe
$50.00 for a parking ticket, and the guy who runs the place owes $50,000
(or more) in credit card debts. Well guess who gets bothered the most?
You guessed it, the guy with the parking ticket! Does this make sense?

Remember, if this is happening to you, don't call them back from your home
or work phone numbers. Even if you dial *67 to block your number it won't
work. IQOR/CBCL will still know your calling from your home/work number. This will confirm to them you are at that number. However, calling from a
payhone (tollfree) and driving them crazy will get them to let up on you
a little bit. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE !!!

I would like to talk to the person who generates these computer calls.

Why the heck would I call about an "important" "urgent" mater when I have no information about the matter. Perhaps a reference number would perk my interest, but I don't think so. This is just harassment for no apparent reason

If, perhaps, the caller chose to have the courtesy to have a real conversation, I might be in a better position to make my own judgement about the "importance' and "urgency" of the matter.

Also - several times after iQor has removed your number and your account becomes inactive for a few months, the account gets sent to another collection agency or another department all together within iQor which is why sometimes the calls stop for 6 months or so and then start up again. - the new company/department was not given any of the previous info which states that you did not want anymore calls or that they had the wrong phone number.

Anyway, I hope this helps save some of you the stress.

Remember - if you give them your number and they find your account, it is the LAW for them to remove your number if you tell them you do not want any more calls. Otherwise, it is considered harrassment.

As for some of the laws i read earlier - every province is different:
-some provinces cannot be called on sundays
-some can be called as early as 6am and as late as 10pm (most are 8-10)
-only certain provinces require that notices be mailed first (6 days before 1st contact) but if there is Mail Return on the file, then a call can be placed from day one.
-a person can LEGALLY be contacted once a day. If you do not answer your phone, legally they can call as many times a day as they like. They can only speak to you (or leave a voicemail) once a day.
-in a lot of provinces it is perfectly okay for a collector to contact you at your place of employement (I know that it is illegal in New Brunswick, Quebec and Newfoundland - it IS legal in Ontario and Nova Scotia - the others i am not sure of as I mostly dealt with provinces from Ontario and East of that.)

Hey Moron's.. Some of you are really stressed out about a few phone calls.

I used to work for iQor Canada Ltd. (formally CBCL) for about a year. Here's the deal:

It IS a real company and they are not scamming anyone for personal info. What happens is numbers get reassigned sometimes as quickly as 4 months. Your best bet is to call the number back (iQor has several different offices for a total of well over 25 numbers in total - prob a load more, I just know about 25 or so.) Give them your number (they need this in order to trace where it is they are calling - they cannot remove your number if you do not tell them what number it is they are dialing seeing as how there are over a million in each of their databases). They will then use your number to bring up an account - if the name on the account is not yours, tell them that the number has been reassigned to you and that you would like it to be removed. They WILL do so and are required by law to remove ANY number (even if it is yours) if you tell them that you do not want any more calls agian. If the account that they find Is in fact in your name, then they have a collection issue with you. IF you refuse to cooperate and the account is yours, then they will follow up and look for their money, etc. If you honestly feel that you do not owe this money but all the info is yours, they will help you out with figuring out how to fraud account was opened.

I put in the maximum attempts of 100 and a redial of 5 seconds and let fly, I got almost 2 hours out of my reverse harrasment. They will see your number on thier call display, I ran this 2 weeks ago for 4 hours on a Monday morning, the calls have stopped for 2 weeks so far. The next time they call I am using a recording device like my cell phone or movie capable camera to record the conversation. I will tell ask them to identify themself and then tell them I am recording and see what they say.
I asked them for a file or case # last time and they wouldn't give it to me because the debts my husbands. They have no idea who they are dealing with. I got AT&T and UPS to refund my boss when I worked in accounting before I was a stay at home mom. Now I have more time to fight this kind of thing. Keep a diary of when they call what they say and what you say even if its for your spouse. I emailed the company and informed them I complained to the Ministry of Small business.
I never denied having the debt just requested the # of calls to decrease. I am inquiring still about them being registered. Their website claims they abide by local rules but I would like to them on a more official list given by a third party.
I noticed complaints about these people go unchecked because people don't spell IQOR right. ICOR OR ICORE complaints are out there too. Hopefully they find a way to fight these people too.

I got a call today from some woman in a call center in india, she barely spoke english. She would not give her own name but insisted it was "icor canada" as near as I could make out. She kept asking about my account with them, I told her I nad no account with them as I'd never heard with them, and that I don't do business who call me out of the blue without telling me what they really want. She kept asking me for personal information including address and full name which I refused to do until she would say what she wanted. After 5 minutes of such crap she finally asked me if I had "fido wireless", I never have and still don't. She then tried to tell me I'd had that service since 2002 and my address was "1498 XXXXX st" (I put xxxx instead of the real street to protect privacy of whoever it happens to be). since I dont have call display I used *68 after she hung up to find out who called and looked them up here. I thought it was either a bill collector or some scammer trying to get personal data for identity theft, now it appears to be both. NOTE: to anyone without caller id you can call *68 on a bell phone (not sure if it works on voip or cellphones, don't use those) to get a recording of the last number that called your line.

Want to get back? Every computer comes with a dialer, its called "Dialup networking". Make a new connection and usr thier phone number, your computer will try to connect to the internet via thier phone. The way I look at is me doing this by myself might not make a difference, but having 100's might.

They are now calling themselves "I Call Canada". Same annoying practice of phoning my daughter's cell anytime day and night with a message to call the number.

Everyday the same recorded voice, same message, urgent that you get a hold of us...blah blah blah. if it is that urgent than use a human being on the other end. when you call the number back, you get held on hold so it can't be that "urgent". i sure hope that thing comes out for sure in january where you can sign up and have your number removed so you do not get those annoying calls. i know it is a job and people need to work but voice activated machines is not people manning the phones.

Get about 2-3 calls A DAY from these dipsh*ts, who, according to Google used to be Canadian Bonds & Credit Ltd. Always the same pre-recorded message about returning their call immediately. I've never called back because I don't know that they'd remove my number anyway. I don't have any debts so there's no need for a collection agency to be calling me. They call 2 to 3 times a day. twice today already and it is only 1:42. i pick up the phone, hear the voice, let them know it is a human being on this end but it says its speel and than hangs up. i have called the number but do not get a human being. i do not know why they call as my credit rating is very high and i have no outstand bills if that is what this "farce" of a company/business is.
this is what they say we are Canadian Bonded Credit, you need to call immeidetly(sp) as an urgent and i forget the rest of the crap is but it grates on my patience.

i get two to five calls from this number per day. i never answer my phone anymore, and i don't allow messages left on my answering service anymore either. it's a shame that i pay for the answering service and don't use it now due to all the spam calls i get in a day.

Hey everyone - I called my phone company (I'm with Aliant, east coast) and they said its a credit agency, and advised me to phone them back (the number is toll free) and advise them that they have the wrong number. I called and the name of the person they were looking for wasn't me or anybody in my household so they should stop calling me. Hope this helps!

this company called a residence where i had resided 6 years ago. i finally got through to a person who advised that i owed $96 for a contract that i had with columbia house, and had forgotten about when i moved to another province. they are a collection agency.

This is annoying! I receive calls from them with hang ups, also 641-715-3900 is another one that I have reported on another site. Here I am on Easter Monday and I have received 3 calls from each #. I worked in telemarketing and it was nothing like this. What about people rights?

This caller has called me several times stating that there is a "regarding a very important business matter" and that they could be contacted at EST 7-12 AM Monday - Friday, 9-9 PM Saturday, 12-9 PM Sunday with this phone #. Called and left message on cell phone at 8:09 AM Saturday but has called at least once per week for the past several weeks on the cell phone number. This can be very expensive.

This is the 3rd time this number has phoned since last Thursday, stating it is a urgent matter I phone the number listed. I have used Superpages.ca to try a lookup on the number and it is not known.

Frequently calls my cell phone and leaves a prerecorded message. I have tried returning the call to request to be taken off their list but I am invariably put on hold. I haven't the patience to wait on hold for a scam!!

Almost every morning and every evening, these calls come into our place of business. Never a person, always a recording asking for our immediate response to their toll free number. This has been going on consistantly for over a month now, I'm getting very annoyed.

I am going to call Canadian bonded credit every time that they call me. I will try to get them to apply for another job...such as a truck driver. I will give them fake details about xyz company, how much they pay, how many trucks are in their fleet, etc. I will do this every time they leave a message asking me to call. If we all do it, it should get to them!!!

Canadian Bonded Credit calls me every day on behalf of a cable company who used them because they said that I had not returned my modem. On May 15, 2002, I returned the modem. They sent a collection agency to try to get me to pay. I sent them a copy of the receipt showing that the modem was returned. Acouple of years later, we went through this again. Now I am going through this again.

These people keep calling us early morning and waking us up. Company name is canada bonded credit but I think they have the wrong person which I informed them a couple months back, the calls stopped and now have begun again. Now it's getting to the point of being harassment.

they just left a phone message saying that something required my immediate attention. I called the number, and there's a message speaking in a different language, then I realized that it might be fraud and hang up immediately.

I never had any issues with credit. I switch the phone to Rogers Home Phone and they gave us some phone nunber that seems it used to belong to a guy searched by most of the collection agencies.

This agency called us and left a message about three times. It must be about the previous guy as well. I called back, and they did not answer. They stated in their message they are available 24/7, while it seems this is not true - while an annoying voice was telling me to wait, nobody would actualy pick the call.

Conclusion: they are probably looking at a lawsuit for harassment. My lawyer said they will not charge anything if they don't get the bucks from this company.

Many calls from this no. -- Canadian Bonded Credit Ltd.?? -- for someone else, but on the phone number I have at present. I called them back, and explained to the lady that I am not the person they are looking for and they could check to see in whose name the phone # they had called is listed. She asked me to hold a moment as she removed my number from their database. Am still getting a similar call for the same person as before. Why do I still get this other person's messages even though I had been assured that my number was removed from their system? This is very frustrating, and we as Canadians don't seem to have any laws that stop this. Why can companies get away with this? And what are the law-makes and enforcers who are supposed to be protecting, and policing communications doing?

They're calling my work cell phone number. I don't give out this number, so they must be just counting up through the area code. Recorded message, calls every two or three days.

This number is calling me in my university dorm room, i just moved in here on friday... I have no clue how they got this number. They keep calling me and I have no debts.

Taped message. "This is not a solicitation..." etc. Only seems to activate if you say something when you pick up the phone. Otherwise, just blank air. I let them hang for 10 minutes before my dog barked, thus triggering their machine. They call repeatedly at any time of the day or night. Random calling spam jerks, I think. Mine is a new telephone number and is known by only a handful of people.

From "Canadian Bonded Credit" , a recorded message using my real name insists I return call immediately and provides a lengthy reference number.

Calls at least twice daily. I programmed the number into my contact list so when they call it comes up as 'ANNOYING'. I don't answer; I simply press 'ignore'. There's nothing else to do, really. I called back once and nothing happened. I recently bought my phone also and the calls started the day after purchase. I'm so glad to know that this is indeed FAKE.

This phone call was for my brother who died 3 years ago.

Could hardly understand the guy for one thing, had to listen to the message three times just to write all the info down. Partially accent related, and partially because it sounded like there was a party going on in the background, as well as a TV on. Googled the company and # right away, found this site. Message wasn't automated, but from a real person. This is the third or fourth time they've called.

this 877 number isn't even a VALID number in canada guys...checked it out..and it's not. So it's bullshit

They call me everyday.. 3 times a day, anywhere from 8am to 10pm. Very annoying.

This one definatelly is fraud. Each time, they just made up a name, saying "if you are xxxx, please call back, the reference number is xxxx".

when we call "home" using voice dialing this number replaces our proper number. Was "incoming" call 18 Jan 2007 10,46 AM and as a "Home" "outgoing" call 27 Jan 2007 at 1.29 PM
