In case anyone is interested the number that also shows up on the caller id is 5-062-293-7062 or 813-464-2350 and my personal favorite is 513. For the last Five years I've been telling them I don't know the person they are calling and I know they haven't had this number for at least 5 years. As for the Do Not Call Registry....doesn't work....they still call and legally can apparently.

If you receive calls from this number, register your phone number with National Do Not Call and report him.
Register & Report Here donotcall.gov
Although the government may not prosecute him, we'll have access to the names and number of those harrassed for a class action Lawsuit.

The Ghost of Travis Taylor strikes again...
It seems that once you call them, they refer to a caller ID and keep hanging up on you.
I called back on my Cell phone and threatened legal action

No one is providing information on who/whom to contact for real action. Complain all you want here this is not going to stop the calls.
Any information? The AG of Florida is will aware of these "people" by now, yet nothing being done?

Travis Taylor left a message on my answering machine claiming to be from Asset Acceptance and was trying to collect on a debt of someone who doesn't live here.

2007-05-04 23:33:28 UTCpat

also, if you get a call from 813-793-7623 or 941-729-7201 it is the same set of BOZOs

2007-05-01 04:35:54 UTCCharlie M

These yo-yos are trying to collect on a credit card debt that I defaulted on almost 20 years ago. The fair credit reporting act allows them to try to collect (even if it is more than 7 yrs old). If you even make one payment on it though, you are on the hook for the rest of it (possibly interest on the original debt too)! You just have to make sure that these people aren't screwing up your credit reports with old defunct debts.

Got call at 8:22 a.m. this morning from the 813-793-7623 number of AACC. Lady asked for my wife, who was out. I asked what the lady was selling - she said nothing (sellers always say that anyway). She failed to say why she was calling and that she would call back. Will not answer the second call.

2007-04-19 18:36:25 UTCMe

Asset Acceptance called today looking for my father who lived 2000 miles away from me before he died 4 years ago.

I called them back and gave them hell for trying to collect a fraudulent debt (dad didn't owe anybody anything, his lawyers made sure of that) they hung up on me.

So I called back to explain that he never lived in this state and passed away years ago.

The moron on the other end said they would quit calling.

I'm very upset right now.
I'm reporting them to BBB, FTC, and our state Attorney General.

Why can't we be safe from these horrible people?

2007-04-11 21:45:34 UTCBev

Calls and when I picked up but didn't answer, she said "When you pick up, you need to speak!" I don't know who this is, but I don't have any debts, so what could this possibly be about? Marketing?

2007-04-05 15:11:15 UTCJamie

Woke me up also... thanks to caller id I didn't answer though!!! Mad as hell I flew out of bed for that though!

2007-04-05 04:44:33 UTCsam

it was an automated call for someone who doesn't even live here too.

2007-03-31 12:47:42 UTCKen

Asset Acceptance idiots woke me up this AM with an automated call for someone who doesn't even live here. We need legislation to put these fools out of business.

2007-03-30 12:57:57 UTCTBA

I need these calls to stop please

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
