I believe it is Ally Bank calling. They handle all the GMAC notes now. If they're calling you, you can believe you are late on a payment or something similar. You can't put them on Do Not Call List as they aren't a telemarketer; they are trying to collect funds owed them and have a legitimate reason for calling. You CAN stop them from calling by answering phone, ask what address to send a payment, use that address to send them a Cease and Desist letter (search for sample of C & D letter on Google). Send letter certified to get return signature for proof they received) and the phone calls should stop. Good luck.

Left no message... Has been calling as many as four times per day even after I told them they had a wrong number.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker or something like Nomorobo.
