Report a phone call from 8668904090
How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

If this is the Breast Cancer's phone #, they should ID themselves as I would have answered.
Called us 5 times between Mar. 23 - Mar, 26, left no message, just tied up memory in Caller ID & woke us up at 8:47 A.M. on Mar. 25 wile we were trying to catch up on much needed sleep. Wonder if these nuisance telemarketers are familiar with the dread experienced every time the phone rings while a loved one or dear friend is fighting for his/her life...
I receieved this call on 15 March 2011. I did not pick up since I did not recognize this number and they didn't identify themselves.
It's the Breast Cancer Society...probably looking for a donation. If you believe them - I have seen a number of other names using this number.
Its a telemarketer. When you dial back the number and get message #1 to remove your number, they don't, just keep calling.
Call back but press star (*)67 on your phone first, this blocks your number and forces them to pick up.
They call themselves PORTFOLIO RECOVERY ASSOCIATES, and give you a line of bull about a debt. Ask for their address, company name location, etc, listen to the operator dance around this.
They also use 1-800-507-7058 & 1-866-940-7640. The 1-800 # is owned by Level3 Communications of Colorado, they seem to do a lot with these con artists
2/15/11 6:21pm Didn't answer their call. I called number back and got long recording telling me about all the good things they do. I could leave name, phone number and donation # and they would call back. I left my phone number only and told them to remove me from their list. We shall see.
Just keep it up, one of these days i am going to unleash a verbal temper on you that you will not soon forget.
I hung up because I suspected a scam.
these people are back for a new round of fund raising for themselves. they called many times last year and I ignored every call. Now they are calling again. I do not answer unidentified calls of any kind. They are just wasting their time.
Also got calls from 866-890-4090 = The Breast Cancer Society, breastcancersociety.org. They either hang up when I answer, or leave blank VM. I called their *real* number 480-284-4014 to alert them and ask that they take my number off their lists. I also told them that I was filing a complaint with the Do Not Call Registry. They didn't seem to care, but if I get one more from call from them, I'll go straight to the FCC with a copy of my follow-up email with them retiterating our phone conversation.
Telemarketer started off requesting donation of $20, $30 etc..After the initial pitch, a "verifier" got on the phone to confirm name, address etc. Verifier said that a card and postage paid envelope would be mailed tomorrow. Call to 866-890-4090 (Caller ID #)resulted in a rather long voice mail message decribing BCS's role and closed by asking for name, phone # and donation # and stated these must be provided before any additional information would be given.
they did say AC calling for breast cancer but who really knows. They wanted a commitment to a donation before they send out mail. But reading other comments I have to wonder why you would need to promise a supervisor a donation as well??? This does sound fishy. Anyway I would never contribute to just someone on the phone.
As for the Do not call list. If your registered on it no Legitimate Company will call you. As for unlisted numbers they just pick an area code and an exchange then start at 0000-9999 so it won't help prevent getting calls. As for toll free numbers if you can pay for it you can get one.As for your name and number they just buy lists from all the greedy little people you do bussiness with. But you can call the Federal Trade Commission at 877-382-4357 and file a complaint. These folks are good but you need to call them. And seeing as how you do have their number you to can call and ask them for a something like directions to the nearest 7-11.People who are busy answering calls can't make calls can they...
check out 'Breast Cancer Society' on Google....IT IS A SCAM....HANG UP WHEN THEY CALL..........
Very very annoying. If this is the Cancer Society why the h--- don't they identify themselves!!!!!! They are wasting their time and ours if it is in fact the cancer society.
Just wish these telemarketers / charities would simply not be allowed by law to use computer (robo) calling. The FCC should have a simple one or two step reporting system where these phone attacks could be handled and eliminated in a timely manner. Some of these scam numbers posted on the web have been active for years. It seems like nobody cares to take these beasts to task. Why?
This is why having a VoIP phone service is so wonderful. Unlike landlines, and even the new cable phone services, some VoIP companies provide filters so that calls like these can be eliminated. You can create a "White List" and only callers on that list can get through to ring your phone. All others go to voicemail. Or are blocked, however you set it up. Sure, once in a while you get calls from friends not on your White List, but that will happen once; add them to your White List as soon as you get their voicemail Some folks have good reasons not to be able to do this; kids in school, elderly, never knowing where an emergency call might come from. When a call goes to my voicemail, I immediately get a text message on my cell telling me the name and number of the caller. Emergency situation solved. And it sure beats putting up with telemarketers.
Don't know who called as I hung up on them. My number is unlisted and is on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY LIST!!!! I would like to know how they are getting unlisted phone numbers!!!!
. I didn't answer and they didn't leave a msg.
I was told it was AC Services calling for the Breast Cancer Society or something like that. The woman (polite) who called said was looking for a small donation of whatever I wanted to contribute -- the amount was left entirely up to me, she said. I agreed that they could send me a pledge card, and then I was passed on to a supervisor to "verify" what I said. The supervisor said it was important that the contribution be received within 7 days. I've since looked up this company on the web, and I'm very suspicious. The most favorable thing I saw said that AC Services keeps 69% of the contributions it receives for overhead, with only 31% going to charity. And I have no idea whether the Breast Cancer Society is legit. Bottom line now: no donation from me.
It was an automated call, that said my complete name. Told me that I had a late item out and would be charged for it... I never have had an acct. at any Blockbuster.
breast cancer society
Called 7:30 12/1/09. I didn't answer. No message left.
To the person who felt bad because it was "Breast Cancer Awareness." Don't. A lot of these outfits get a name that sounds like it's associated with a good cause and only give a tiny fraction to charity. Just because it has a nice name doesn't mean it's not a ripoff.
yea when i saw this was for breatcancer i started to feel bad cuz i hung up on them straight. shouldve have a different approach. and howd they know our last name.
Asked for someone who does not live here. The proceeded to tell me it was the Breast Cancer Awareness (telemarket solicitor) something-or-other. Got snotty with me when I said I wasn't interested in receiving anything by mail, "You don't want to help save a life?"
I am on the Do Not Call list!
Called 9/27 at 7:34pm. I didn't answer and they didn't leave a msg.
