Who Called Us

Guessing from the other user comments here, it is most likely Sprint. I visited a Sprint store over the weekend (today is Monday) to switch out to a new phone. 95% chance it was a follow up call.

These are follow up calls to survey customer experience from recent store visits. I didn't answer but the store employee said they were going to call to follow-up on how well my experience went. I don't answer toll free calls but I put two and two together based on other peoples submissions here.

Just visited a Sprint store yesterday. No message though.

I think it was a Sprint Survey they said they would call after I complained about their service yesterday.

I got a call from this number. I called it on another phone, and it was Sprint, doing a survey about my recent visit to the local Sprint store.

This is just a customer service call. I just had a phone upgrade and the dude told me that they will call to ask you about the customer service within a few days. Nothing to freak out about....but they are persistent!

866-888-5233 is for Sprint Survey. I recently visited an independent Sprint Store in a small city and this call was for feedback as to my experience at that location. The call to this number is not deducted from your minutes; it is absolutely free and I recommend completing their surveys in order to improve their service.

Sprint following up on my recent purchase, asking me to rate the sales person. The rating determines how they get paid. Only a rating of 5 earns the sales people $$, so they really seem to be working hard to provide good service.

Missed this call at noon. Upgraded to new plan/phone 2 days ago. I recall this number showing up on old phone even though I haven't been in a Sprint store in 2 years since last upgrade.

I know this sucks to recieve these calls but Sprint is really trying to revamp their store's customer service. These calls are not only taking into account what you say about your trip to the Sprint store but THIS IS HOW THEY ARE NOW COMPENSATING THEIR SALES REPS. If you had a good experience....take the call. If you had a bad experience ....take the call too because it can be your forum to voice your complaints.

I received a blank voicemail from this number. There isn't even an incoming call in my log. Just the voicemail. Never rang. So weird.

I called this number back and got a recording from Sprint Customer Svc asking if I wanted to take a survey regarding a recent transaction with Sprint. I just hung up.

Call from Sprint 2 days after making changes to my plan at a Sprint store

I just paid full price for a new phone at the sprint store. If I had not been a 9 year SPRINT CUSTOMER it would have been $75.00 less. SPRINT SUCKS.

I just got a call from this number.....AGAIN! I have asked Sprint repeatedly to stop calling me every time I enter their store or call CS. Maybe if their customer service, billing ( so many errors) that require monthly calls to CS, they wouldn't have to call so much to begin with! Sprint SUCKS!!! And they do not respect your request to not continue calling! Assholes!

The DNC registry does not apply to them because they are market research (not selling). To stop the calls you must answer the call, and ask them to take you off *their* do not call list.

Got 2 calls on two different days on my sprint cell phone from this number.Sprint doesn't suck as much as people say it does.But, their customer service does suck and WTF is with this 866 number and these darn sprint spam text messages?

I called the number back and a woman answered "hello?"... I hung up as I just don't care who it was. BTW if it was sprint, they SUCK!

They called this morning and DIDN'T leave a message. WTF? I had to call yesterday and turn off text messaging because the ONLY people who text message me are SPAMMERS. I dont' know how to use it and never plan to. I like TALKING to people, not playing twiddly thumbs with my friends. YEAH, I'm old. So What?

I asked the Sprint rep if incoming texts are free. He said "NO, they are 20¢ each incoming OR outgoing but your allows you 50 free texts a month. WTF? I HAVE TO PAY AFTER THE AHOLES GO OVER THE LIMIT TO SPAM ME?

Even Sprint has sent a text at one time or another so I told him to block ALL texts on my phone. I don't need this $hit.

Sprint should send the survey in the MAIL and STOP ANNOYING CUSTOMERS who are already on the way out from being harassed by this company.

i just visited a sprint store yesterday too and i just got a call for them too but i didnt answer they have thw orst service i little plastic screen on my phone broke and they wouldent repair it for me get out of your contract while you can!

It is a call that follows a contact with Sprint that you had recently.
It is a survey from Sprint asking if things are ok or if they can do anything else.
I don't think it could be classified as telemarketing. Telemarketing is cold calling an unknown number in a phone book. They are not violating the rules of the "Do not call" list because they are a company that you have a business relationship with or have initiated contact with.

Make that "SPRINT" phone repaired ;-)

Didn't answer this either, per the 866 #. Makes sense though after reading the comments. I'd just had my Spring phone repaired.

I just received this call as well. I called it back. It is an automated survey about my visit to a Sprint retail store. It said it would take about 5 minutes.

It's a Sprint Survey. If you've visited one of their stores and received some kind of service they will call you, but it does not use any of your plans anytime minutes, it's just a survey that takes 5 minutes or so to complete

I tried to resolve a SPRINT billing problem yesterday. I called their office for customer support from my number which is BLOCKED! Near the end of the call they mentioned my telephone number. I was very upset since I never gave it to them. I asked them how they got it and they said their equipment intercepted it. I told them that I NEVER ever want them to call me at my number. I told them I knew there was a secret loophole in the DNC law abused by telemarketers to sell your name and identification if your are someones customer. The manager PROMISED ME NO ONE WOULD CALL! And this morning I get a call telling me they were from SPRINT. Do you have any idea how pissed off I am because of the breach of confidentiality. They make way too many assumptions about who you are, where you are calling from, and why you are calling. Marketers suck. They treat customers like trash and abuse our privacy. Guess what kind of answers I gave them about SPRINTS terrible customer service. I know people in large companies get to lie all day, but customers get tired of the "anonymity of the company employees" and their lying. STOP the sneaky cheating and lying. I SAID DO NOT CALL---and they agreed, and called anyway.

now that i see this was a sprint survey, i wish i had answered it because everyone that works in the sprint store in santa monica is an idiot, as well as customer service. after the FOURTH time trying to get my plan changedin santa monica and with customer service with no success, i did it in a san francisco store because i happened to be in town, and they changed my vision plan instantly.

I just got a sprint phone too and this is a customer service number to see how your experience went. I am returning the Motorola q9 actually, I type too fast and it doesnt support ANY of my applications...so save yourself the $500, or $200 if you get a new service plan. :)

I believe this number does market research for other companies as well, so you don't have to be a Sprint customer to receive calls...

It's a survey for Sprint done by a market research company named Advanis. They call Sprint customers and will probably ask about customer service satisfaction. It doesn't matter if you're on the national do not call registry because they are considered "market research". The law doesn't apply to them because they are not trying to sell, they want you to rate the service or ask for your opinon. You'll have to ask any market research firm to take you off their list individually. So answer, ask them to take you off their list, and they won't bother you again.

I returned this call from a land line. The message informed me that I would be entered into a drawing for $400 or $50 and a five minute survey followed. At the end of the survey, my phone number was never asked for nor did the survey tell me I had to enter the survey from my cell phone.

This is the 3rd time my wife and I received this phone number coming through. Right after my cell phone rang, then my wifes rang too.

Looks like the calls may be coming from Advanis: advanis.ca I called them, and they say that they don't use an automated system--they use humans. However, the calls I got were from an automated survey system thingy.

Replaced my Sprint cell phone a few days ago at a Sprint/Nextel retail store. Yesterday, I received 8 calls from this number. Two this morning, the first waking me up at 8am. I even answered the survey. They never asked for any private info, just ratings of several things. Called Sprint several times. They say they know nothing about it and that they don't do surveys. Who else would know that I went to the Sprint/Nextel store?

Interesting. I believe that this is Sprint because I too am a customer and recently visited three Sprint Stores for help, and then called customer service twice for help. (All for different things... bought a phone upgrade that was incompatible, then went back to my old phone, then finally found a new phone that worked).

sprint is another version of high profit, no service companies who only care about NUMBERS, not customers

I am sprint customer as well--switching to verizon when the contract is up.. they said I'm not 'eligible' for a new phone when my term is up because I bought my current phone to replace a broken one on ebay last year.. I told them verizon would have no problem giving me a brand new current model for signing with them.. I wish cingular worked better in my area so I could get an iphone.

Interesting to read these comments, it seems that we are all mostly Sprint customers. Only my Sprint phone is 2 years old. Last time I was in a store was about 9 days ago, to pay my bill. I am wondering what the hell this person wants. Next time they call, I am going to give this person a Piece of my Mind (the annoyed don't-fuck-with-me piece). My Fuck-You button is already sensitive to phone harassment. There has to be another way to communicate here.

No message was left so I have no idea what they wanted but as it turns out the Sprint employee screwed up my information during the transfer. Typical mega-business using underpaid/underskilled staff.

I didn't answer it though. I won't use my minutes to talk to untrained deaf dumb and blind monkeys at Sprint !!! I can call San Diego City Hall for that!
