Like so many others, I keep getting calls, one of the gals I kept on the phone long enough told me they are based in Tampa FL, I asked how I could get a job and where I could get an app. needless to say she hung up. I am awaiting tomorrows call so that I can try to bleed a little more info from. I want them to e-mail me, I want an ip address. Then I should be able to get a location of this company for real, right? I know these people are going to sell the card info, once you accept their offer or even say yes or ok. I would love to go al qeada on their ass. I will keep you posted on any new info.

On 1-18-2010 and again today (1-19-2010) have received calls from this number offering a package worth $350. The first call was from a lady who was very understanding that I wanted to find out who and what Capital Rewards is prior to accepting a suposedly free gift. I told her I would do a Google search on the company and she stated she would call me back on Wednesday January 20, 2010. Today another call, this time a male who was very aggressive and rude. The callers opening statement is in regards to a credit card and they state the last four numbers of the account. I have called the referenced credit card company and they have no relationship with Capital Rewards, and have closed the stated account and will issue me a new card.

2010-01-14 21:43:32 UTCjanet

got calls from these people several days in a row and no one would be there until today. they informed me i had won several hundred dollars in prices and all i needed to do was authorize payment of $14.95 for s&h. they already had all my credit card info that they obtained through another website through which i had paid s&h of 99C for a "free" trial. the person calling today actually put on a good show. she or he would have been more convincing had they talked normal but they actually started some fake sobbing and saying things like "i can't take all this pressure anymore" etc/ IF i had not been so mad at the audacity of these people i would have laughed. i told them if the pressure was that bad they needed to find them a new job. after informing them that there had best not be any charges on my card from them i hung up and immediately called my bank and had by card cancelled.

2009-12-28 21:21:28 UTCLloyd

I have had one or two calls a day for almost two months. They do not leave a message and when I have picked up no one is there.

Right, if you have a Comcast phone, you probably already know that *60 can't block 800/888/877/866/etc numbers (HURRR). And also that the tech support is helpless to block them for you.

BUT BUT BUT! By accident I discovered that *80 CAN! Works the same as *60 except it doesn't tell you that "number is invalid" when you enter 866-875-8720.
Right after "Capital Rewards" or "800 Service" or whoever hang up on you or vice versa, pick the phone back up. Dial *80. Wait through the prompt, then press #01#. It should read back the number (866-875-8720) and tell you it's on the list.
Don't forget to press 3 to turn call blocking on if it isn't already.
Pass it on, and Happy Holidays!

2009-12-18 03:00:10 UTCPeriod

OK...so here's a thought...why would you give this website any information? You can't even tell who runs this website!!

2009-12-18 02:52:45 UTCGreg

OMG!!! These people are unbelievable!!! They call my cell phone 10 times a day...I have Sprint service...anyone know if I can call Sprint and have this number blocked? They are driving me crazy mad...and for what end? These people need to get a life...you know they MUST read all this s _ _t we type here...and as far as the 609 # listed below goes...that number is no longer in service. If anyone has a heads up to another # we could all call...I'm in!

They keep calling my cell number. When it first started about 2 months ago I just ignored the call because I didn't recognize the number. They never left a message. Then I started trying to answer so I could find out who it was and to ask to be removed from the list. Most of the time they would just hang up. Finally I got someone to talk to me and he kept trying to tell me that I qualified for a $300 gas card and all I had to do was pay a little over $13 shipping costs. When I told him I wasn't interested and I wanted to be removed from the list he kept up the high pressure sales tactics and said I was crazy for not taking a $300 card and all I had to pay was $13. They keep calling over and over at all hours of the day and night, even the weekends and I just want it to stop!

This number (866-875-8720) has called me everyday. I sometimes say, "is this capital one" or "piss off to them and they hang up. THey always hang up and you try to call the number back and it is busy. Today I decided to listen to them and they said that they were from Capital Rewards and are sending 2- $100 gift cards as well as $300 in grocery Coupons to me. I asked how I received these prizes and they stated I made an online purchase thru one of their partner affiliates. I said I didn't recall any purchases when I know I made 2 online purchase 2 months ago in which I was scammed also. BriteTeethPro and another Teeth whitener company sells you the product for the shipping cost of .99 and 1.99 but actually they charge you for a membership at 80 and 100 dollars inwhich they claim they cannot refund. SO I went to my bank and told them about Brite teeth pro scam and the bank refunded me my 84.99. Then it happened again and the other company charged so I called them talked to a little snatch for 20 min before I talked to her manager. I told him that what he and his company are doing is a scam and since I know many Seattle Radio DJ's I was going to advertise in the state of WA that they are a scam and will take your money and that the products are no good. After I told him that he agreed to refun me in full...which tool 5 days. If they pull from your account it shows as THEWHI MAIN STREET 8778891240, WHITEPEARL 6 THE COPPENS STOTFOLD 888-342-2772 GBGB, Withdrawal BRITET MAIN STREET 8775460535 KNKN, and YOUNG.RESV 6 THE COPPENS STOTFOLD 877-556-7365 GBGB. Watch out people.

2009-11-25 20:06:15 UTCSam

File a complaint with the FCC and get your card changed. The complaint can be filed online and only takes about 10 minutes.

2009-11-17 21:42:41 UTCella

they asked for me then hung up on me.

2009-11-05 18:05:00 UTCpaul

SCAM-this company does not represent your card holding company in any way. you MUST be specific and tell them that "in no uncertain terms is ANYTHING to be charged to your card. say it over and over till they hang up.

2009-10-23 20:45:43 UTCkevin

gift card my arse... nothin but spam

2009-10-07 23:03:46 UTCAmy

these people called me at 8am. They asked if it was me (Amy) and when I said yes they said I won a $50 Walmart gift card. Then they confirmed my credit card number and I said "HUH??? OH NO, Im not going to get scammed again...." thats when they hung up on me. This happened to me a couple months ago. My other credit card was compromised and I had to get a new one. These people are THIEVES.

2009-10-06 20:52:06 UTCDennis

The company employees are very rude and when told to remove my number from their list and to not call back it set off no less than 5 calls a day in which they talk to my wife and ask for me when I am not home. When I answer the phone they ask for Dennis and if I say yes they hang up on me. They claim to be calling on behalf of my Chase MC.

2009-09-10 13:53:02 UTCAime

SOOOOO Tired of their calls. THEY HANG UP ON ME!! I should be hanging up on THEM! WTF

2009-08-26 21:54:54 UTCDale Grusell

I recieve at least four calls a day from this number and every time I answer, nobody says a word and the telephone reverts to a dial tone.

2009-08-05 13:23:46 UTCJames

It has been reported that there are groups that ask certain specific questions that they expect the answer to be "yes". Once they have that single word recorded they can then edit it into a 'taped' conversation they say they had with you where you agreed to buy something or authorize some sort of a debit against your account. The best thing is to not say that single word unless it is to someone whose identity you know and whom you have some measure of trust for. If you have ever gotten a call and answered the phone with "Yes?" and the caller then hangs up I would check the credit card activity VERY often or even call the bank and so that you lost it in order to get everything transferred to a new account.

One thing I did several years ago was het a device called a 'TeleZapper'. What it does is when the phone is answered (picking up or answering machine) it sends out a tone burst of a specific frequency that is recognized by most (not all) computer dialers as belonging to a fax machine. The software in the dialing system then thinks that it is calling a fax machine and not a phone, causing it to check off your number from the list. In the past three years my telemarketing calls has gone from 50+/month to just a couple.

There is also a device out on the market that allows you to control who gets thru on your phone.
1) You can enter the phone numbers of people that you want to be able to ring thru
2) You can enter the numbers of phones that you want to be blocked and they will get an appropriate message
3) All the rest are answered by a voice mail message

I am considering getting one of these because I am now getting many more calls from political and charitable groups. Unfortunately since it was the politicians that wrote the Do-Not-Call law they of course left themselves a loophole.

2009-08-01 03:47:14 UTCrandy

This is something called capital rewards. They have your complete credit card number and try to scam you into a free promotion that charges your credit card. BE CAREFUL

2009-07-15 21:17:03 UTCExhubwhoknows

This person keeps calling me several times a day and hanging up on me

2009-05-27 18:06:36 UTCsickofthis

Everyone needs to file a complaint to the FCC at this link:
esupport.fcc.gov

If there are enough complaints, they will investigate and stop these idiots.

2009-05-23 00:29:13 UTCHaley Whitcomb

I wonder who pays for this 866-875-8720. It has got to be in someone's name. How come we can't get any help? The gov can trace PO boxes. Does it help to report them on these sites? What do they do with our complaints?

2009-05-22 17:16:43 UTCJulie H

I have reported this number to BB and the do not call list. I also called Washington Mutual and Chase. AAAAAAA The calls are driving me insane!!! I have to leave my phone on silent because it rings sooo much. I called Verizon and they can block up to 5 numbers a month for free. So guess what? LOL

2009-05-21 20:33:45 UTCCris

This number called me 3 times today and said nothing

I believe that it is a telemarketer who is hired by Chase, Walmart, Career Network and so on. I have reported these 866 numbers and lists of times and dates they call to show frequency to the FCC and they can do nothing without more complaints.

Meanwhile i have this number forwarded to the 609 number given above that is no longer taking any calls (says the recording)

2009-05-21 18:52:28 UTCoscar

this person is trying to sell me a product by offering a gift card from Wal-mart I told him that i do not want it

I just called this number and it said that the subscriber is not taking calls

2009-05-21 17:04:23 UTCSally

I called the direct line 609-233-7229. They were very angry that I called this number to have my number removed. They asked me how I got this number.I think it is hilarious that I would be bothering them when they call me constantly and refuse to take no for an answer.Well we will see if the calls stop

2009-05-21 16:35:14 UTCJulie

I think credit card services hired them because they knew all of my credit cards and were willing to charge each one a monthly fee for a monthly $100.00 Walmart gift card.I do not think that Chase is only to blame. I am receiving numerous daily calls too. I get off the calling list and some how I am back on again.

2009-05-21 16:30:42 UTCBill

I am reporting this number to Chase. They must not know about this

2009-05-21 16:28:47 UTCFrank

I believe they are working for Chase since they want to charge my Chase card a monthly fee.In return they want to give me a $100.00 gift card for my years of service. They call me about 8 times a day and 7 days a week with this same offer.

2009-05-21 16:24:47 UTCMandy

They want to charge my chase credit card a monthly fee for a gift card once a month. Okay this is fine and I told them, no thanks. The guy turned psycho on me and calls me all day with the same offer.

2009-05-21 16:20:36 UTCHolly

You would think these people are bill collectors. They want to give me a walmart gift card. They want to give it to me 12 hours a day! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Help!

2009-05-21 16:17:25 UTCLarry

I have reported this number to everyone I know. I am off all the telemarketer's lists. I do not understand how they are getting my number again. Hell no I do not want a $100.00 gift card to Walmart

2009-05-21 16:14:48 UTCWilliam

This number starts calling at 9:00 am every morning through 9:00 pm every night.Shoot I almost want to buy the plan for the walmart gift cards just so they will leave me the hell alone.

2009-05-21 16:12:07 UTCGerry

These idiots call me 5 days a week all day long. The number just rings busy when you call them back

2009-05-21 16:10:31 UTCJill

These very rude, aggressive telemarketers want to charge my chase care a monthly fee for walmart gift cards

2009-05-21 16:08:38 UTCJoe

This number calls me 8 x's a day to offer me 100.00 walmart gift cards.

2009-05-20 20:18:40 UTCMelissa

Someone called my cell from this number and asked for my husband. I said "He is not available, this is his wife" and they hung up. When I tried to call the number back it rings twice and goes to a busy signal. Now they keep calling back and every time I answer they hang up.

2009-05-20 18:26:07 UTCcarol

This number must be part of a bunch of hackers. This number calls my cell nightly and hangs up. So they must be trying to hook into my computer thru what they think is a land line. Well not happening.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker (click pictures below for price and reviews).
