They never stop calling.
I am not interested in theirs, or anyone else's research,
telemarketing, debt collectors, scams or anything you are
selling, or collecting.
They will get a complaint filed.
If the government had any brains, they should collect at least
$500 for each call they make for a complaint filed against them.
Calls everyday mornings and evenings, not sure what they are researching and I do not really care!!
Call back and it answered as Acrobat Research.
As usual, no message. While research firms are exempt from the Canadian DNC list (idiot politicians that allowed that) if they get harrassing enough they are no immune form getting formal complaints filed against them with the telephone company, or the BBB (for the little that's worth) or the police (waste of time except to maintain paper trail) or dragged into court under any of a number of torts. Though likely they'de have to REALLY piss someone off pretty badly to go to that trouble.
Waste of time
Claim to be a research company allowed to call do not call numbers to do marketing research.
If the person you're calling is NOT a customer then you ARE in fact in violation of the Do Not Call list. If it's "customer satisfaction" you're calling about, then they must be a customer, right? However, from reading here, this is NOT the case so just cease and desist, lowlifes.
This number registered on our Caller ID on the afternoon of Monday, October 4, apparently at a time when no one was around to hear the phone ring. We had another call this morning, Wednesday, October 6. I picked up the receiver, said nothing, the caller said nothing, then there was that click terminating the call. "Not Provided" shows up as the name of the caller.
What happened to the days when people would ask you, "Do you mind if someone contacts you to question you about your service?" instead of throwing your name and number on a list for an annoying company to hold on to and call you repeatedly.
866-794-2255 - Just received a five (5) back-to-back calls from this number on my cell phone.
FIVE (5)? They must REALLY want to talk to me, right?
I missed the calls as my phone was in the bedroom, and alas,
they didn't even bother to leave any messages for me.
I have a very Simple Rule regarding UNKNOWN Callers:
If you can't be bothered to leave me even a short message,
then I can't be bothered to take the time to call you back.
The strange thing is, Caller ID showed different names each time.
Either they have their outgoing ID showing up differently on the various phones throughout
their call center (which would be VERY strange indeed, as this would require some actual work
to change these, plus they are probably using a PBX system, which uses the same info for
EVERY phone located there) OR someone is spoofing their name and number.
On their website, it clearly states that they are supposedly EXEMPT from
the DNC Registry laws (I'm not sure this is actually true or not), but that
they also DO in fact have a DNC list that they use if you ask to be put on it.
Since they are located in Canada, they are somewhat exempt from USA DNC Laws,
BUT... Canada has some pretty strict DNC laws as well:

they said they worked for american eagle !! There was laughing in the background in the background tottally a prank call !!
Said they were a survey company, the question he asked were all about insurance
He said he was with Harris International (a research firm). Wanted to ask my wife some research questions. I asked him to take us off the calling list and then he just hung up on me. Can you imagine that...just hung up without saying "Goodbye". I was so disappointed, not?
What's up. I used to work for Acrobat. The survey you guys are getting called for is a very general satisfaction study being conducted on behalf of the banks. They just ask the name of the bank so the program will input the name into the satisfaction questions. Nothing personal is asked, and if you feel a question IS personal, the representative will skip the question for you, they don't want to make anyone uncomfortable. Only question you cant decline, otherwise the survey terminates is Which bank you deal with, which really isn't that big of a deal to tell, the interviewers don't care what bank you use, they just need it to begin the survey with you. From my experience they really do appreciate getting a survey complete, it makes the time fly and its nice to speak to people. Takes only about 6 minutes of your day, so next time just do it, its not that bad. ALSO, if you'd like, at the end of the survey there is a "Complete, but do not call again, EVER" Button, and you can request the interviewer choose that for you and you wont be bothered again. Anything else you want to know about Survey research, just reply :-] (Its NOT telemarketing, telemarketing is selling things)
First of all, Acrobat Research has 3 locations in Canada and 1 in the US and also a data processing center in Kenya, many of their clients include Harris Interactive, Maritz Research, and GFK Research.
I happen to work for a survey research firm.
We do not have a do not call list, we are exempt from that list cuz we are not solicitors, or trying to sell anything. most of what we do is customer satisfaction. It is to help whatever company is sponsering the survey to better meet your needs, it is your chance to voice you opinions.
Also if you dont want to be called back just simply say you are not interested, depending on the survey they most likely SHOULD put you down as a refusal and wont call back, but if you are rude or completly immature about it and hang up on us, it is standard procedure to set you as a call back for the next few days, or even the next day and we WILL keep calling you until that survey meets its quota.
also, it doesnt matter if your number is private or on the DNC list, all the numbers we call are computer generated and we do not control who gets called or when they get called.
And if someone is trying to ask you for any personal information such as a banking account number then they are most likely people posing as a survey research company. We never ask for anything personal such as bank accounts or credit card numbers, sometimes we will ask for your first and last name just in case our supervisor needs to verify that we actually did the survey or if we are planning on sending you an insentive for taking the time to complete the survey, which of course you may refuse to give out your contact information at any time.
And alot of the people actually doing the calls may be still in high school or college and only work here cuz its an easy job and an easy way to make money so if you hear a lot of talking in the background it is most likely that someone beside them is on a survey or is quietly chatting with their peers.
we also only ask for anyone 18 or over to do the survey. we would never ask a young child to do a survey with us.
I called back and got a recording that it's Acrobat Research and that they cannot be placed on the Do Not Call list.
I never ever answer calls where the caller ID is blocked, not showing, or says Private Caller.
Researchers - show your name on the calls!
The phone is ringing, and I don't recognize the number,
All Caller ID says is, "NAME UNAVAILABLE".
Please help me figure out who is calling and what they want
Survey research company
This number belongs to Acrobat Research - acrobatresearch.com They say they are exempt from the DNC list because they collect statistical analysis. yYu can try and email to have your name and number removed.
re: earthlink acct. asked about my service since i cancelled..told her i didn't cancel my acct. she apologized and ended the call.
Called regarding a technology survey
This comapny calls numerous time to my work phone. I am really getting tired of them because they won't stop calling and they won't leave a message, they just call back over and over.
They are some type of marketing and survey company, and they are a pain in the azz!!!
I have told them that no one is available to take their call, or do their survey, but they continue to call over and over, several times a day.
I am going to start having the line route back to their company, as they don't seem to be able to get the message.
Very annoying.
This number belongs to Acrobat Research -- a survey company.
fraud banking survey. hanged up.
"Banking Survey" I asked what bank they were working for she said none it's a general survey (thought that seemed strange) asked where they got my # the woman said computer generated list I said great remove me from that list and ended the call. Got this call 1 day after getting called by "Blue Green Resorts" and the same day as "Great Western Vacations" both using the same # and trying to get my credit card # from me.
called for the 4th time...sick of this BS
never leave a message
They keep calling and saying they are conducting a survey. My husband told them we were on the "Do Not Call List" but she didn't care, said it didn't apply to them. Bet me!
Bank survey, no overly personal data was asked for, just what bank and general satisfaction with their services.
Back ground noise was concistant with a calling center.
acrobat research, call the number to have your number removed from their list
Woman said she was calling from Acrobat Research, and was conducting a 5 minute survey. I asked to be removed from the calling list and hung up.
I called them back and got the message "welcome to Harris Interactive and our study for oncology..." and then i hung up.
Not home, got number from caller ID. No message left.
GFK Market Research
Trying to get my banking information from me while posing as a telemarketer (with a terrible French accent) -- said he was conducting a banking satisfaction survey. When I questioned him about background noise (although I already knew he wasn't legitimate based on his fake accent, banks wouldn't conduct such a survey, and that he knew nothing about the names of Canadian banks!)he offered to end the survey which I accepted but quietly stayed on the line -- I then heard him say to those in the background, "You F-ckers! I almost had one!"
