Who Called Us

I was called from this number by a man with a heavy Indian accent, asking for someone with the same first and last name. He would not state what the call was about. He wanted me to give hime my address I told him to give me the address he had for me, come to find out that was an address I never had. He also gave the wrong middle name. When I told him he have the wrong person he hung up the phone.

I see by the caller ID that they called the house today. Did not leave a message.

It's a bill collector. The company name is Allied Interstate. The caller had a heavy Indian accent. They collect for Columbia House Video.

Its a debit collections company in india that does collections for columbia house and student loans. Very annoying

This number keeps calling my cell phone. I'd like to know how they got it. I don't give my cell out. These people are annoying calling at all hours but they don't leave a message on voicemail. I refuse to answer an 800 phone number on my cell!

These guys are annoying some lady name "Candice Wright" keep calling me every single day. They have the nerve to call my boss and start saying "I HAVE A TIME SENSITIVE INFORMATION FOR YOUR EMPLOYEE" . I tell them to stop calling me and my work but they still call every day. They are going to get me fired. Anyways After 2 weeks of candice's phone assault I decided to call her back.... She started demanding that i pay 400 dollars a month on some old AZZ student loan. I WORK MINIMUM WAGE... I have no car, and no savings.... I live pay check to pay check... I told her this but she is a well trained DOG.... she just keeps at it... I found some information on some website made by a former collector and he talks about everything... Alll the nAsty tactics these collection agencies employ..... Called trying to reach someone with same last name as ours. Wanted us to relay a message to other person. Sketchy.

I have been getting called by this # on my cell phone for about 2 months now! 3 to 5 times a day and NO ONE is ever at the end of the line. They always hang up and when I don't answer they don't leave a message. They call at all hours of the day and night, I even got a call from them at 2 AM a number of times. They even called 3 times on Easter Sunday. I can't figure out what they are calling about or even if they are miss dialing. I will be restricting there # so they won't get through anymore. If there business is importent then they should identify themselves.... What has come of this world....

This company called my cell for someone I know. They also identified my address. I told the caller to take my number off his list before I report them to the attorney general's office for harassment. Annoying!!! It costs me money when they call my cell.

These jokers keep calling and never leave a message. When I call them back, they say that they are looking for someone named Carrie White. When I tell them that I have no idea who she is, they tell me that they will remove my number from their caller logs. However, they still call about once a month or so.

Got a call from them last evening. They asked for our daughter - who is in her 40s and hasn't lived here since 1986 (23 years ago)! I see that someone mentioned that they should pay the "outstanding" bill over the phone. Great way to get your credit card number.

OK, these people called my "cell phone". If this is a collection agency, I do not have any debts at all. With all these comments, it gets me very suspicious and wondering if there is some kind of scam or if these people get a commision on how many calls they make. My cell number could be recycled when I got and they problaby mean to call the prior people that had it. I understand there are people out there that don't pay but find some other way of doing it and stop harassing the innocent.

These people are a collection agency attempting to collect a debt from companies such as Columbia House and the like. I took a call and the man on the other end insisted he could not devulge who he was representing or how much he was inquiring about because I was not my husband. He got upset with me because I refused to hang up the phone. Finally he HAD to hang up because I wouldn't, I thought it was pretty funny! I called the number back and took care of the amount with a nice lady who told me everything the other guy wouldn't. He was sitting right next to her aparently, and I asked her to please tell him that he should have cooperated.

I'm disabled and they have been calling around the clock. Finally answered TODAY and got some BLABBERING IDIOT in India who wanted another person with same last name as might. He was very rude and I've filed complaint with "DO NOT CALL LIST". Why in the heck is this being allowed with so many complaints? I have no debts and when I asked them what they wanted with other person they hung up on me. Anyone ever hear of GIVING BACK TO THEM WHAT THEY ARE GIVING TO US?

These morons have called every relative in a 100 mile radius for an outstanding debt... ??? Nothing is out there that I know of. They have informed family members that I have not associated with in 25 years that they are tracking me down... asking if I owned a gun... and, that I am on the run. Hmmm... too much reality television for these stupid _ucks. I have had it. What goes around... comes around...

They even call on Sunday morning???????????? It's rude and it should be stopped, but who can??? They don't answer when you say Hello. I won't answer again that's for sure. I am letting my mail box get it from now on.

I have received 2 calls today from the above ph#. The first time the caller hung up and left no msg. It did not show a name as to who was calling. They called again today looking for someone else. I want justice served and how do we protect ourselves?

This number keeps showing up on my caller ID several times a day (One day they called 9 times). They aren't leaving a message and when I answer the phone there hasn't been anyone there. I don't have any idea what this company is nor why they are calling, but the calls are getting very old and I'm tired of it. I want these calls to stop, especially since I don't know why they are calling. They could at least leave a message if they are wanting something and are conducting business!

my phone rings at 830 this morning, i answer it, and for about the 1st twenty seconds it was the darth vader music from star wars. then a woman with a strong accent asks for a my exboyfriend, who hasnt lived here in almost three years. told her to never call my number again. i thought businesses weren't allowed to call before 9 am!

They have been calling my number also, I wont answer it and they dont leave messages, I dont even have anything in collections! Think there trying to get a woman who use to live here because sometimes I still get her mail.
This company is Very Unprofessional!! I did some investigating myslef, this company has bad policies and breaks all the rules! Everyone should get together on this for a class Action Law suite and finally shut this company down, Break Them and put them out of Business!!

Finally someone was on the line when I answered. They claim to be collecting an outstanding debt of $125 from Columbia House DVD Club. I'm a member of CHDVDC but have a zero balance due on my account. She wouldn't listen when I told her that my account is not overdue. She just started reading the membership agreement and told me that if I paid the debt over the phone they could cancel my membership. I told her that I didn't want to cancel my membership, that I'm not overdue and to stop calling me. We'll see what happens. In the meantime, I've contacted CHDVDC by email and asked who turned my name in for collection.

I get calls from this number 2-4 times a day anywhere from 1 am to 6pm. If I pick up, there's no one there. No one ever leaves a message.

If this is the same Allied Interstate that has been calling me using 253-218-3451 I blocked that number, I guess I'll have to block this one! They keep calling in reference to a debt - I dont' have any outstanding debt. I've reported them to the Do Not Call Registry.

These people started calling my house as well. I contacted them and they are a collection agency and were calling for someone who doesnt even live here. They were kind enough and took my number off the list.

I invested in a phone that allows you to set different types of rings for different numbers.. Well this number is now set on No Ring.. I don't even here the phone ring.. LOL.. They call 2 times a day and never leave a message.. i was with BMG 11years ago.. don't owe them anything. I haven't recieved any letters from them. The statute of limitations is out even if I did ( I really think BMG would have told me if I did though) .. I believe they are scavenger debt collectors and will go away when no one answers.. they don't even leave a message.. some collection company.

Caller identified himself as Colonial Credit Card and wanted to verify my recent application...they wanted my checking account number to verify...i told them thanks but no thanks...he abruptly hung up....kinda shady huh?

I get calls from this number several times a week. When I answer, there's never anyone on the line. However, today I said, "Hello?" and waited. The line started ringing, and a gentleman came on the line, identified himself as being from Allied Interstate and asked for "Chris." I told him he had a wrong number (he did...no Chris here) and he said he'd remove our number, but it might take 48 hours. He was pleasant, at least.

Keep getting phone calls, when we answer no message, no one says anything...I just hang up....blocking them from my phone.

They called three times within one day. I missed the first call, answered the second call (nothing on the line) and finally spoke to someone (strong Indian accent) the third time they called. They asked for someone who has never lived here, I've had the same number for over 25 years. I told them I was on the DNC list and he was VERY rude.

Received numerous calls from the number 888-872-7809/Allied Interstate in spite of being on the National Do Not Call Registry. Asked for my husband and "could not" talk to me. I explained I handle ALL of the finances. Seemed like it was a collection call? Happen to know we have excellent credit. Don't know why they are calling. Asked to be removed from their call list and she said she could only speak to my husband and to have him call back. I told her in no uncertain terms to "forget it", she was not providing any information and he would not be calling back! From other things I've read they say they are associated with Capital One. I should mention we've received about a bajillion unsolicited pre-approved credit card offers from Capital One in the last several months. I did check our credit report(s) just in case of fraud and everything appeared okay?

This number comes up as "Not Provided" then hangs up after answering machine picks up. When we called it back we were hung up on!! We get this two - three times a day! I'm on the Do Not Call list so I don't know why they call or who it is. I re-registered on the Do Not Call list a few minutes ago.

i just started getting these calls. at first i didnt answer but when i did the 2nd time, no answer. and they keep calling!!

On my voice mail it leaves a ringing tone then a person says hello when connected then hangs up.

They have been calling twice a day, always 5 minutes apart, for the last two weeks. Today I decided to answer. A foreign-accented gentleman asked for a friend of mine who used to live at my house 3 years ago. I said she no longer lived here, and hadn't for quite a while. He said he would take my number off their list. We'll see if that happens.

This is so agitating. My ex husband and I have been divorced for over a year and they just started calling trying to collect a debt from him. Time and time again I have told them, even giving them his NEW number and how they can reach him and yet, they still call. I received a call from this number @ 8:35 am on a Sunday morning. It was a female that I talked to. Told her I was mad that she had called me on a Sunday. Called the number back, talked to a Mark, asked him where he was calling from and he told me India. The company he work at was hired by Allied Allstate Collection Firm. Talked to his supervisor to file a complaint about the call. Doubt that will make a difference.

just got another call where they hung up....maybe it works if everybody just calls them back and hangs up as well when the CSR answers.

2 -3 times a day. A recorded message to call them back . Many times no message just a hang up.

This company has been calling me. I calledand they asked for someone that has never had this number. I asked them how they got my number and they transfered me. The man on the other end of the line asked if I knew the person that they were calling for. I said that I did and that they dont live at this number. He asked me for the number they can be reached at. I told him that I would not give the info to him and that I wanted to be taken off of his list. I informed him that I was on the National Do Not Call List and that he was in violation of a federal law. He hung up on me. If you get a call from these people hang up. If they were legit they would send you a bill in the mail to look over. All they would say is that they needed credit card info now or they would damage our credit. This is a scam. Deal with them at your own risk.

at 8 am on saturday morning i'm not awake enough to ask questions. They asked for someone who didn't live here. But i think it was allied interstate. They have been calling several times a week. So far we have assertained-when we can get a live person- that they are fishing. We may have to take that legal action to keep them from calling.

This number calls me at home all the time but no one is there. Same as ANNOYED describes. When I get phone calls from telemarketers that tell me I can have a credit card I tell them send two. I tell them I want all the credit I can get and that I will go straight to the mall and max them out and never ever pay the bill. But please send me some credit cards today. I need some new clothes. After a few times they quit calling. The ones that tell me about car warranties I tell them sure I'll take the warranty as I drink a lot and an extended warranty might come in handy on those nights when my car gets so drunk it can't drive me home, they called a few times I think only to get their kicks from me telling them that stuff and quit calling, the ones that call about student loans consolidation I tell them that I am certain that I don't owe anyone but I have a couple of other personalities that may have attended college. To call back later and maybe one of them will know something but they are hard to catch at home. Usually the slow ones take a minute to process what I say to them but the ones that get it usually either get mad or laugh and lose it. Either way they don't bother me again. I figure turnabout is fair play. If they are going to hassle me then I am giving it right back to them.

I called the number back and told them they keep callind and to stop, they looked up my number asked if i was someone else and removed my number from their list.

Have never asnswered this call, but if they are indeed trying to collect from BMG, it is BOGUS. I have NEVER ordered something from BMG.

Number calls several times a day, no message, nothing. Sometimes ill get half a recorded message. BMG always tries to get you into trouble, Free movies my ass, these people will throw their own kids into traffic for an extra buck. these people will fuck you hard if you are not careful. Try calling BMG explaining you want to close your account: they will ask you not to for more free movies: say ok: wait for free movies: call bank tell them your credit card was stolen and cancel it: you get free movies and no more weird charges and phone calls. My buddy did it and it worked.

This company is a class action lawsuit waiting to happen. Sloppy record keeping, failure to validate at every level, under-trained, uneducated collectors SEVERELY lacking in Fair Debt Collection Practices Act training.

Intellirisk must be making BIG bucks in collecting because they sure don't spend it to insure they comply with the laws. Student loans with these idiots is a nightmare. Most Allied collector's don't have a clue in handling even the most basic of consumer complaints. Loans that have been paid, in the wrong names and outdated credit bureau reporting are fast targets for lawsuits because Allied is unable or unwilling to respond.

If you receive a collection notice from Allied DISPUTE IT! Even though you will never receive a reply, it is important that you use the law to your advantage. Allied aptly fits the saying; "the right hand hasn't a clue what the left hand is doing!"

lady called at 10:45PM and started off with something about me owing bmg 48 bucks from 3 years ago, and how was i going to pay? i said it was after 10:30 on a weeknight and she tries to tell me it's not, so i hung up

At home at 7:00 p.m. and i get a phone call regarding a bill from BMG music for $28.00, that if i dont pay over the phone tonight with a credit card, then it will be sent to collections. I politely say i will not pay over the phone, and that i had no bill, they said that it would be sent to collections then. I told them i would call BMG, she got very rude and said they would not be able to help me. I said okay, have a good night and ended the conversation.

Allied Interstate. They were calling regarding a "lost" outstanding balance of less than $40 to BMG music company. The gentleman identified himself as a "third party collections agent".

They have been calling at least twice a day for six weeks. Never a name or message, other than need to call them.
