How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

We keep getting calls from the NRA, but it's not the National Rifle Association, it's some collection agency like National Recovery something. I have a very common name, and they're looking for someone with the same last name.

I called the number back and it was answered by the NRA and I requested they remove my number from their call list. The male that answered was very polite, took my name and number and apologized and said they would remove my number. Remains to see if they will, if they do, it was quite simple.
This number calls a couple time a day and has for several days. I did answer once and got nothing.
Multiple calls, no name on caller ID, if I pick up, just hangs up.
I called the number back and it is the NRA and expressed my frustration of how they hang up every time I answer but never when my husband answers. He bought a lifetime membership 10 yrs ago and they just don't stop calling. Ready to tell them they have the wrong #. We support the NRA and every gun privilege but man these calls are enough to make one revoke the membership.

I guess that the founding fathers would blast me for my spelling, too...! Good thing that it's not my spelling that will save me when Home Land Security comes to take my fire arms...
I have several lines that forward to my cell phone. It's funny now, There are sooo many telemarketers that make it to my cell phone any toll-free or spam type looking number that calls me, I simply pickup and hang up at the same time. I never thought I'd do that but it is less time then to listen to a voice mail/junk voice mail and seems to be my quickest defense against the call taking more of my time... Since I converted to E fax, the junk faxes are just deleted as I would an email... I wonder what our founding fathers would think if they all came back!!! I'll bet the revelution would begin again (sooner than it probably will...)
