Who Called Us

Have received numerous calls from this number both where I live in California and in the past when I lived in Massachusetts. they tend to call intermittently...thruout the day and over a period of several months. Are they in fact the 'Breast Cancer Society"? I find it odd that if this in fact the case they are not professional enough and to be rather covert in their cause. STRANGE!!!

Called at 8:30 on a Sunday morning. Give me a break, whoever you are or whatever you want. Must you call on a Sunday morning! No id so no pick-up.

I'm fed up with nonprofits calling like this -- no caller id, no message -- I don't give money to ANYONE over the phone. All this does is ensure that I will NOT include this organization because telemarketing is so obnoxious.

I have aksed them to stop calling but they do not. Today I answered to tell them again to stop calling and noone said anything. I am tired of supposed non-profits calling to ask for donations.

I did not pick up and they did not leave a message. I DO NOT give money to ANY so-called charity or charity-sounding name that cold-calls me, and I urge EVERYONE ELSE to do the same. If we all did this, the calls would stop. I am on the DoNotCall List because I don't want ANY of these calls - INCLUDING charities that I may or may not support.

There is NO WAY to verify whether these calls are legit, or just someone using a legit-sounding name and preying on people's sympathies. Besides, anyone who cold-calls you is using TELEMARKETERS, and therefore up to 80% of your donation goes to the telemarketer, NOT the Charity!!! So save your money (donate DIRECTLY to the charity of your choice, after you've thoroughly checked them out) and IGNORE THESE PHONE CALLS AND THEIR BEGGING!!!

Answered a "Toll Free" call and the caller asked "Is this Mr. Guierro?" and I said "Maybe or maybe not, why?" She said she was calling on behalf of the Breast Cancer Society. Then I told her I wasn't Mr. Guierro (actually I am someone else) and hung up. These bottom feeders make it impossible for me to support legitimate fund raisers since i'm skeptical of all of them, even the "real" ones. Too bad.

My telephone system allows me to block calls so that calls from numbers I specify ring once and then get a busy signal. I just added 866.401.9643 as number 12 blocked caller. (My current phone number previously belonged to an apparent deadbeat and after one year I still get calls for him from bill collectors, who are on my blocked call list.)

My number is unlisted and I only use my cell number for contacts not my home and these calls only come to my home number, so it must be either the phone or satelitte company that is selling my unlisted number. They never leave a message when they call, have never been home when they have called so no idea if they would talk to me. And for Breast Cancer Society people they only have one phone and that is 800-462-9273 I know this because I do donate to the real Breast Cancer Society through work donations never will give money to anyone over the phone.

If you pick up the phone when it is "RINGING", it will more than likely be a collection agency on the other

end looking for any kind of info to connect you to an account or create one. If you see the number on your

caller ID and "CALL THE NUMBER", you will actually connect to the actual party that the number was assigned

to.

It's called phone spoofing. This is mostly done by collection agencies. They pretend to be someone else
and getting enough info from you to create an account. Next thing you will get is a paper threat to pay
something in full or go to court. Some of us have been dealing with these bottom feeders for months and
years. We have programs that track and trace these numbers and then match them to the time and dates with
the phone company. None have matched the actual caller. They also spoof themselves as your neighbors.
Advice: take your bill or some proof to the phone provider and have them trace. If you owe money or have
ever in the past, you can bet places like these will be faking themselves as someone else to get the data
they need. Make note that these collection agencies can get a lot of info on people by accessing credit

Called on a Sunday afternoon. I was on the phone so did not take the call.

07 21 2009 6pm gave em the do not call sit and message.

Silence when we answered our phone...their phone did not hang up, kept silent, I left the phone on the counter. After many minutes, their side had not disconnected. I then did.

Someone called me from this number Unavailable.

Caller claimed Breast Cancer Society provides support to women undergoing treatment, including rides to and from appointments. I've looked them up online, and they seem to be a scam. Caller hung up when I said I wouldn't give any money.

I did not answer this call, but there was a message. A male voice talking to someone else in the room he was in. I could hear that person talking to him. He stated that he only got a $30.00 sale so far today. The call was then disconnected, and he never directed a message to my answer service.

When I answered the call, there was background noise... people talking. I said "Hello" and after about a three second pause with background noise, the caller hung up. No conversation took place.

Called and left no message.

Called at 1530 on a Sunday afternoon, no message left on machine, called the number back to hear a breast cancer message of some sort.

Buttheads keep calling; no message ever left on the answering machine. I have no idea who they really are.

They left a message for my stepson AT 8:30 IN THE MORNING saying they were "National Action Financial Services." It would seem it's in reference to a credit card debt he owes. The # they left to call back was (800) 613-1802 w/a ref. #.

I am on the no call list for all the good that does. They always hang up when I attempt to answer the phone.Surely the telephone Company can put a stop to this????

TOLL FREE CALL 866-401-9643 Have gotten 11 calls in 2 days. June 30,2009 (5) and July 1 2009 (6) You'd think they would take the hint and quit calling. I reported them to donotcall.gov. Next will be the FTC for invasion of privacy and harassment.

It is my understanding callers are calling from the Pierce County, WA area and are involved in a SCAM to obtain money for a number of charities, including for breast cancer. Do NOT give money to charities you are not familiar with, especially over the phone! I suspect this is one of them.

They have called several times. My husband asked what percentage of the donation went to the patients and the first person who called said that she didn't know. Another time they called and we asked for some literature detailing where the money went. The last time they called I requested the same info. Now they call and when we answer, there is no one on the line. When I call the number to request that we be removed from their list, there is a recording saying to leave a message but there is no room in the message box to take the message.

we seem to get calls from this number every so often. What I've been doing with this and other nuisance calls is hitting 'talk' then 'off' so I don't have to hear more than one ring or have it tie up the line. I wonder if getting an unlisted number would stop this bullshit. It seems to be getting worse and we're on the do not call list

A woman called and asked for us by name. We have an unlisted number so this caller got our information from someone. I have a fax machine attached to my phone so I hit the button. I am on the Do Not Call. A lot of good that does. We must push our elected politicians to ban all telemarketing. I am a sick person and using my time and energy for such interuptions is a poor way to use my life. Often these telemarketers interupt another call I am on, or they get me "off the pot", or out of bed, or out of the shower. All these callers are nuisances. Get rid of them! NOW! The government reports that telemarketers scam people to the tune of trillions of dollars per year. What are our politicians waiting on. If they can lock up "Bernie" for 150 years, why can't they stop telemarketers?

It comes up as Toll Free Call on the Caller ID. The caller says they are taking donations for the Breast Cancer Society. I didn't give (I NEVER give my personal info over the phone). I then e-mailed the Breast Cancer Society & this is the e-mail I received back......We do have a service that raises funds for us via telephone campaigns, Associated Community Services. If you call the number (866-401-9643) you will get a recording that is from the "Breast Cancer Society" and you will find that their voice mail is ALWAYS full so you cannot leave a message. However, toll free numbers get charged to the "owner" by the minute, so each time you call them they will be charged a fee for receiving your call. Keep reporting them. This is a scam site that just provides internet links to things that simple Google searches can find. They are not listed at Charity Navigator, Give.org or American Institute of Philanthropy. They are a scam!!

We have recieved many calls from this number. No answer. Called # said was breast cancer society. Said could leave message. would have but mail box was full. I have no idea where they got our #. Never give to these groups. If you do and we did, they share your info and they get money for it. Then this happens and this is minor compared to what comes next. This company shares with that company and then you have 2 nuisance callers, then they share and you get 4 and so forth. I personally do not give money for any reason over the phone, to anyone, anywere, at any time. I will never support another group like this ever again, at any time, in any way, for any reason. If I do give any money, to any one, at anytime, it will be a money order with no personal info to contact me ever again for any reason at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When you get unwelcome calls turn around and call your US Representative about the calls and talk the staffer ear off. If you become a PIA your Representative will think twice about sleeping with the Tel-Cos and Telemarketers.

Please don't believe these are really charities. My aunt paid to the phony AICR, thinking it was the cancer society. I think 1 place is using several fake names to collect money.

Get calls constantly from this number. We never pick them up, always let the machine answer them. Good idea to jot down the number of these types of callers and keep it next to your phone. That way when number shows in the caller ID, when the call is coming in you immediately no not to bother to pick it up.

The real problem is the "800" Service Company. You should all go after them, they are the assholes.

Caled me 6:18 P.M. 1/16/09 "UNKNOWN NAME" Breast Cancer. Told her never gave money by phone. She said she'd "let me go after one more question. I told her I'd let her go if she did not hang up. She hung up.

These wankers have been calling every day! When I tried to call them back to tell them to stop calling, it says that their corporate mailbox is full. The recorded message said it was the Breast Cancer group... and I know they are not hurting for money. Since I will not contribute to any charity that calls me on the phone, they are wasting their time... and mine.

I noticed that I get these calls after I have applied for a job and the employer is doing a background check. Could these bogus calls from "charities" be a ruse to find out if the applicant is rude, or who answers the phone might give them some personal info?

Caller identified themselves as "Adam with...whomever...working on behalf of the Breast Cancer Society" blah, blah, blah. As he was talking I interrupted and said that I do give to the BCS but would never give over the phone. Much to my surprise...The call ended immediately with a hang up!!! WOW what a loser. And it still amazes me that even though you are on the "DO NOT CALL LIST", just how many of the assholes still get away with calling you.

They called twice tonight. I had my 3 year-old talk to them. They hung up on him. They asked for me by name and didn't even give my son the time of day.

Must have accidently left a message by mistake. Background noise and someone asking for me, repeating "Hello." Then hung up.

Called every hour yesterday. My daughter came home last night. She picked up the first call of the day this morning around 9:00 and immediately hung up. That seems to have taken care of the annoyance as they haven't called again.

My number is on the don't call list and has been for a long time. I keep receiving these calls anyway. This is against the law. I know that there are much more important issues at hand, but these people whould be arrested and thrown in jail. They are flaunting the laws in this and probably many other areas.

Tried to block the number and AT&T can't do it because they say it doesn't exist. It's like you have a stalker. There should be something that allows you to block their number.

when I get these calls from other places I consider this harassment, after I have asked them to take my name and number off the list. so now when they call I blow a whistle into the phone they are no better than a stalker. and they deserve no better treatment.

I gave to the Breast Cancer Society at the beginning of the year and now they call me 3-5 times a day with no one at the other line - whatever anyone does - DO NOT GIVE TO BREAST CANCER SOCIETY VIA MAIL!!! that is why I am getting called ALL THE TIME!! - I have contacted my state utilities commission, state attorney general, and the Better Business Bureau on this, b/c I can't get the number blocked - I am just a TAD frustrated!

I received a call from Jennifer Diu M 352-693-4651. She called me by my maiden name. She offered A/C services. Said that we were up for our annual cleaning. How did she know??? I told her that since I couldnt afford it at the moment..to mail their info to me to use as a reminder. She instead offered to call back in 2 wks. Three minutes later I get a call from this 800 number. It rang 3 times & hung up. I googled Jennifers number. The number above is listed as a land line for a Larry Diuguid & a Jennifer Diurlin. I looked for this Jennifer & got Jacksonville info (Jennifer Diurlin 13258 Gillespie Ave Jacksonville, FL 32218 (904) 751-9672. I think that's about 2 hours from the first phone number listing. Its a shame that we cant stop ppl from bothering us at our personal/home phone numbers. I think that if you are not a company that we get service from..it should be illegal for you to call anyone's number.

I did not recognize the number, but because of the early time, 9am, I decided to answer the phone deviously. I answered, "Hello thank you for calling Jif Peanut Butter how may I help you?" Silence. Then a moment later she says, "Hello?" And I repeat, "Hello thank you for calling Jif Peanut Butter how may I help you?" She responds, "Oh, I'm sorry I have the wrong number." She disconnected. So if they call back, please use this to screw with them, I like the idea of this entire company constantly calling Jif Peanut Butter no matter what number they use.

I receive at least 3 or 4 calls from this number (and several others) on a daily basis. I finally answered to tell them to remove me from their list as they interrupt business calls on a regular basis but no one was there when I answered.

Called back and got message machine identifying them as Breast Cancer Society. Said I could leave a message, which I intended to let them know to not call me again - but then had another message saying their message box was full. Gee...I wonder why???

Again calls for dead beatpain in the A.. named Debra Manning who keeps using her old number which we unfortunately recived!! We payed Media Com sixty some bucks to get an unlisted/unpublished # becuase of all the harrassing charitie calls. here in Ia. most are fraud. We'd be glad to have our old # back the charities don't call 10 times a day at all times. I'll have to see if I can file fraud charges on Debra Manning using her old #. This week we had a couple Dr. office calls and one from a bank about a bad transaction.

I answered to laughing and giggling callers. Once she composed herself, she said she was from the Breast Cancer Society. Told her I did no business over the phone, so she said she wanted to send me info through the mail. Said I wasn't interested and hung up.

Caller addressed me by my first name (disconcerting) gave her name and said she was with the Breast Cancer Society. I ended the call. Should have "played along" to see what she was looking for.

3 rings no message @ 10:30 a.m. I never answer calls from numbers I cannot identify.

Received call from this number - caller ID lists it as Not Provided. Answered and said 'hello' five times...I could then hear background noise, but still nobody replied. I finally said why are you calling me if you won't even talk? They then hung up.
