Who Called Us

Same guys every day & every time... thanks us for our donation back in June and ask if we can help again. I asked him not to call anymore then hang up but that doesn't stopped them. He continues to call daily so we let the machine answer the call. Last night he started leaving sacrastic message - hello? are you there? pick up the phone. These people are annoying.

Dave, any con artist with a telephone can call himself the Navy Veterans Association and solicit money from unsuspecting individuals who think their contribution is going to a worthy cause. In reality, the money is going into the pocket of the scum bag who is preying on kind and generous people.

Do not for a minute believe that sending a donation will stop the calls.
The web site contains a phone number for contacting them with a DO NOT CALL request.
It is only a recording & your request will probably not be honored. Mine was not.
Until I started receiving calls from this organization, the American vet held a very special place in my heart for their service to this country.
The US Navy Veterans Association & their relentless harassment has extinguished that warm glow for our fighting men.
I pray God will forgive them.

Called in early hours of morning, did not identify themselves, merely repeated "hello" a bajillion times until I finally hung up.

Research indicates this is another phony charity. Mostly, these guys confirm names, addresses and telephone numbers and then sell the info to other telemarketers and third party junk debt collectors, so never confirm the name of the person they're asking for, the address or the number. Just hang up and ignore.

Further Information from the Michigan Corporate Tax office reveals that ACS is a 3 headed Dog.. ACS is a also a Telemarketer And a Collection Agency and a Solicitor for charities!!!

This girl tried to get a job with them as a CSR/Collection agent..(November 2008) guess what the address is? The SAME as Associated Community Services the charitable organization.
BBB,org has them listed as ACS PO Box 31 Southfield, Mi. Why don't you call www. bbb.org and file a complaint on them for False Solicitation.

Some guy from ACS said he was soliciting for the US NAvy, When I told him I was US Navy retired & I put all my solicitations in through Military.com, He said Thank You & Goodbye & Good Bless. He said he was soliciting for the troops overseas. THen I looked up the ACS Tax return as a charitable organization. The name is Associated Community Services based in Michigan. In 2007 they only sent 31% of the money collected to the NAVY the other 69% was paid to administrative expense on a collection effort of 1.1 Million dollars only 352,000 went to the US Navy. See why they keep doing this? they get the bulk of the money legally. secstate.wa.gov

They were soliciting money for troops overseas, and wanted a donation.

Wanting donations for US Navy Vets. Lots of chatter in the background, obviously a call center of some sorts. Hung-up.

I received a call from this number and let it go to voice mail on 1-28-09. On 1-26-09 I received a call from unknown and chose to answer. They gave a case # and something else I forget, but I ignored it because of the phone scammers that are out there. If you are receiving calls from this number, call the nearest military base and investigate. They can tell you if it is legit or give you directions on how to find out if you are considering donating. (personally sounds to me like I wouldn't consider just hearing some of your stories about verbal abuse and background chatter.) Then you can call your telephone company and ask for security and have them trace your line. With your caller ID and a pen and paper you can maybe stop this if it is harassing to you. Remember they are not the only ones. Be very careful and good luck.

They pass off as a charity so they can collect your personal information and verify if you are the person they are looking for so they can start calling to collect money. When I cursed out the guy who called me for the third time in the same day he told me their mailing address and business name. After doing some research the only business at that address is a collection agency with the registered DBA name of ACS. Do not give money or info to these guys.

I get a lot of unknown caller, unknown number, private caller etc. To avoid those horrible middle of the night calls I unplug the land line and turn on my cell. Only close family members have that number. During the day I check CID and those "unknowns" never leave messages.

I GOT A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER 866-401-2547 SHOWING "US NAVY VETS" ON THE CALLER ID ASKING FOR DONATIONS FOR MILITARY STATIONED IN IRAQ. MY HUSBAND AND I DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM DONATING FOR A GOOD CAUSE. MY HUSBAND AND MY BROTHERS AS WELL AS MY DAD ARE ALL VETERANS. THE PERSON WHO CALLED ASKED IF I WOULD LIKE TO DONATE BY BUYING A CARD FOR $20, $30 OR SO. WHEN I TOLD THE CALLER TO GO AHEAD AND MAIL ME THE INFOS REGARDING THE ASSOCIATIONS FOR I HAVE TO RESEARCH IF I AM DONATING TO A LEGIT ORGANIZATION/CAUSE HE THEN RESPONDED TO "THANK YOU AND HAVE A GOOD EVENING" THEN HUNG UP.

Still trying to reach the person who called me with information pertaining to his health. He gave me his name, and an email address, which bounced. Have called US Navy Vets Assoc. but got "no one available to take your call." Very frustrating!

Caller ID said "toll free", I picked up anyway. Man identified self as calling for US Navy vets, asked, "how are you today?" I answered, "I'm fine, and I'm not going to give you any money", and I hung up.

Wanted donation for the troops. Asked what ratio of every dollar actually went to the troops. A supervisor came on and said every 80 cents out of each dollar goes to the troops. Told me I could look them up on the web and told him I was already on the website and would investigate and donate from the website if I was so inclined.

I don't like contributing to charities from solicitation calls because the people are usually very pushy and won't take no for an answer.

I received a call 11-10-08 sunday evening..asked how they got my number they said public info..They asked for 20.00 dollars for men over seas, so they could call home or? And check should be made to Navy Vets association..And sent back within a week..So the service men would have help before thanksgiving..my caller ID said unknown name.First on the line was a man calling me by my first name.Then a female with an accent..I don,t believe they are what they say they are....

Left message on answering machine in the form of, "Hello, Hello..... HELLO." they hung up. 10 am 11-07-08

11/7/08 - called and no message left...unknown name

Really irritating call. 11-7-2008 10:24 a.m. Call from 866-401-2547. When I answered, there was the usual "boiler-room" noise & a delay while I kept saying "Hello." Finally a very loud and gregarious-sounding guy asked for Bill (my husband's nickname). When I asked who was calling, he said "Mrs. ----- my last name? This is Kyle!" As though he was our best friend. "Kyle from ACS..." When I said something about not knowing anything about them and not wanting solicitation calls. He said "We're not soliciting anything. We're calling about our Navy and supporting our troops."
"Well," I said, "we support the troops in our own way and..." - at which point he broke in with a skeptical "Oh really?" I continued "...and please don't call us again."
I swear, he'd have kept up the conversation, old Kyle would, but I hung up.
By the way, for those of you who think being on the Do Not Call list spares you from these calls - it doesn't. Non profit organizations and political parties are exempt.

Saw "not available" on Caller ID so I did not pick up. They did not leave a message. This is not the first time these people have called. Going to put the number on call intercept.

I hungup after I said hello, becasue I heard a dozen operators amking calls along wwith the guy calling me. i knew it was a sale type begger call.

This getting to a damn nuisence. Tell them to back off.

Answered "hello" and no one answers in response. Purportedly from US Navy but since we pay taxes to the US government and THEY fund the navy and the veterans I doubt this is remotely legitimate.

guy wanted to send me a support the troops packet so that I could donate as much or as little as possible. I declined and he persisted. I declined yet again and he continued...I was no longer there!

A computer dialed call because when I picked up the phone there was background noise but nobody on the other end. I quickly hung up.

THEY CALLED ASKING FOR DONATIONS FOR SUPPLYS TO US NAVY MEN IN IRAQ.SAID THEY WERE LISTED WITH THE ATTY. GENERAL. THOUGHT THEY WERE LEGIT BUT NOW NOT SURE. THEY ARE SENDING A PLEDGE FORM. SAID MAKE CKS OUT TO US NAVY. WISH SOMEONE ACTUALLY KNEW IF THEY ARE GOOD PEOPLE OR BAD PEOPLE SCAMMING.

Got the call from some guy claiming that he was from the a veterans association and that he was asking for a donation (not over the phone) that they would send a letter with a return envelope. Then he put on a woman that asked do you confirm that you will donate? I replied I would look over the material and if I felt confident this was legitimate I would send a donation...she then hung up.

Called 5:25 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, left no message.

I received a call from this number. It was a woman named 'Raz' leaving a message for someopne other than myself named 'Fabian' and she was stating that there was a complaint filed against him. She left an extension, Xt3175, and a file number: Z81XX-XXXX. When I called the number back I got the same message as everyone else, The US Navy Veterens Association, wierd.

Keeps calling me, there's dead silence and then it hangs up.

Asked for my husband by first name. Said it was not important when I asked to take a message.

They called, I answered on first ring. I said hello and could hear people talking in the background, then the person on the phone said 'Excuse me' and hung up.

I have donated to this org before (I have weakness for wanting to help Marines and sailors). Then they started to call on a regular basis. I asked that they not call and they asked if it was OK to call on an annual basis. I agreed and this call was 12 months from my last donation. Am I a sucker? Am I being conned? I hope not, but for $35 it feels good.

Just got a call from this number, saw it was an 8xx number with no caller ID, let it go to voice mail. No message was left.

Out of Area on my Caller ID and they didn't leave a message, REFUSE to PICKUP these type calls nowadays.. too many SPAMMERS & TRICKS..

When I picked up, the guy immediately started with my name as if he was a friend (but he got it wrong, so I knew it wasn't). Very smooth talker, all the way through my "put me on your do not call list."

07/09/2008 Called at 9:20 am; did not leave msg on answering machine. Showed "800 Service" on caller ID.

I don't answer the phone when there isn't a name on the caller ID. They called at 8:30AM
and hung up when answering machine picked up. It's not the first time they've called but never leave a message.

6.24.08 7:42 p, PST - asking for donations for the air force (ACS) from a very loud calling center and I stated I'm not donating to anyone at this time. remove me from this list since I'm on the do not call list and they hung up. btw - they were calling for someone who had the number 5 years before me and this was not the first time they called.

Hung up after 3 rings and didn't leave a message whenever my answering machine came on. I don't answer calls if the caller ID doesn't show the name of the person calling.

They called, I answered on first ring. I said hello and could hear people talking in the background, then they hung up. I called the number back, got an answering machine, without any mention on how to remove my number on their list. I left a message telling them to remove me from their list. If you're going to bug me, the least you can do is speak to me.

It said "Toll Free" on the Caller ID so I let my French speaking answering machine pick up. There was only silence from the calling party for about 10-15 seconds, then they hung up.

Asked for employer or his spouse. Told him to either leave a message for a return call or not to call. He said ok.....but do not believe him.

Called at 10:40 am, and I heard a lot of men talking in the background as if they were telling jokes to each other.
