Who Called Us

Unknown they called I was asleep and by the time i picked up they had hung or the answering machine kicked on ,and they did not leave a message so i assume beings this is a private number and for family only it has to be someone selling junk or attempting too.

Your caller is not going to dutifully study random forum complaints and cannot magically determine which numbers should not be called based on anonymous comments. Comcast does not maintain this site or this web page. You will not get compliance with your orders until you deliver them DIRECTLY to your caller. (... which I might add could be a disguised third party collector)

This is been the most annoying call of all lifetime. No respect for dinner, sleep and family hours. They call at all times. Finally I decided to get the phone and the person said from Comcast, which is NOT tue becaose they were asking for how much I pay? Doesn't Comcast knows how much I pay? Caller ID says out of the area, but I do believe it is Comcast or someone calling on behalf of them. They literally called our house yesterday 10 times. I have blocked the # on our phone, so it won't even ring anymore if they call us it will just block them. We just canceled our cable and internet w/ Comcast, so I don't know if they are calling to make us an offer to come back (not happening) or what, but it is ridiculous to call 10 times. They called 2 times today, will see if they call anymore tonight. The calls are all about 20-30 minutes apart which too- why would they call that often?

I got the impression that this is a third party on behalf of Comcast. They were pitching additional products. I'm already a cable and internet customer and they were asking me about digital voice. I said no thanks and the woman asked about how much I pay per month for my services. (This is why I suspect a third party is at play. Otherwise, they would've had that information already on their screen.)

As if the constant ads I receive in the mail weren't enough. Annoying!!

Im hiring a lawyer because after many failed attempts of calling comcast to ask them to please stop this harrassment and still i have received 64 calls in 14 days every single call i was hung up on. the number calling me is 866-811-1296.

we don't even have comcast anymore, this is unacceptable business practice! we cancelled service a month ago, but have been getting these calls every day for MONTHS and they're still calling.

after reading the messages here:

1. I called the number back and left voicemail requesting they took our number off their list.

2. I just talked to Mike 1.800.266.2278 in the retention department at comcast, and asked to opt out of their marketing calls, and it took him most of... 2 seconds to do it. a bit skeptic, I asked if that was it, and if it's effective immediately, he said YES.

WAIT! I think I was duped. this Mike didn't even ask for my name, phone number, account number, JUST my address... this sounds so fishy.

Got woken up by a call from this number at 2:00AM. After two more wakeups, I silenced my phone. In the morning, had 19 missed calls from them. Unbelievable.

Offered a special for 12 months of digital premium service with a HD box for $9.99 a month over my current bill. I was to pick up my HD box at Comcost. When I got to Comcost they did know anything about such a deal. Still trying to get through to Comcast call center.

Has called every weekday for at least the past week. Sometimes more than once a day. I never answer it and they don't leave a message.

I called the number and waited until the recording was completely finished talking. It lets you leave a message so I left my phone number and asked them to stop calling. We'll see how it goes.

The company calling is "1 2 1 Direct Response" (formerly Telestar Marketing). They're calling on behalf of Comcast, or so they claim. I grilled Karen, the PM floor manager for about 45 minutes (610) 891-7100 x2665 about autodialers (their system of calling multiple numbers at once, talking to the first one that picks up and hanging up on the rest). I wanted to know how many folks they call simultaneously, but of course she didn't have that information. There are supposedly multiple call centers, she is in PA but the calls are originating from Westin, VA.

Daily calls from this number on my cell phone. No one is ever at the other end of the line, no matter how fast I answer. Call lasts 3 seconds, if that long. If I let the call go to voicemail they never leave a message. Must be a glitch in their system as this makes their call to me completely pointless. I called back and they said it was a customer satisfaction survey for Comcast. I left a VM at the number complaining that they call daily. After seeing this I don't have much hope of getting the calls stopped!

Have received calls daily from 866-375-9723. No message and if I answer, no one is there or there's an audible disconnect. Called the # back. There is a recording that states it is a survey on behalf of COMCAST and provides an option to leave info. for no call. Left the message-had to provide name & #. Called COMCAST and punched the number to disconnect my service because that's the easiest way to get a warm body... The person who answered (very pleasant) told me that in the COMCAST "small print" it states they can contact you or have 3rd party do so regarding offers and promos. If you don't want this you must "opt out." The woman told me she could opt mo out from her end. I asked her to do so. Had to provide COMCAST A/C # and personal info. to prove I'm me. They can also opt you out of all that junk mail COMCAST sends. Afterward, she cautioned me that it will take several weeks for the opt out info to get to the 3rd party survey company. This opt out condition situation now also exists on all or most of your credit cards and other vendors. READ THE SMALL PRINT ON YOUR STATEMENTS & PRIVACY POLICY & "OPT OUT." It is their work around for State & Fed "Do Not Call List."

Answered call, but no one there. I called back and it was TriStar (?) on behalf of Comcast. When I called again to confirm the company name, all I get is a "busy" signal, the kind you get when the number is not valid, not when someone is on the phone. weird. Wish they had a way for me to remove me name from there list!

I ahve the same problem. 6xs a day they call and hang up. Comcast corporate 1-215-665-1700 claims no knowledge. I spoke with an executive assistant just now who said she was going to forward it on to an executive. Call the corporate number for Comcast 1-215-665-1700 and complain.

866 is a toll free exchange, free for us, TelStar has to pay for the call. When you're bored, dial the number, listen to the msg, hang up and call back CONTINUALLY!

This is horrible. Why is this happening even though I am on the Do Not Call list? I'm considering using a sat. dish so I can get rid of Comcast. THIS IS HARASSMENT in the nth degree.

This number keeps calling our house. On Saturday 4/21/07 we received 47 calls in 10 to 12 minute increments starting at 8:00 in the morning and lasting all day. I called back several times and left a message asking them to stop. I have signed up (last year) on the Do-Not-Call list and much of the telemarking stopped but this number appears to persist. On Monday I plan on calling COMCAST and reporting the problem as well as reporting the number to the phone company. This Tel-star marketing company calls my house everyday sometimes 2x a day and when i answer it they never are on the other end. I searched for the company on the internet and couldn't find them, if we could find the company's address and phone number we could report them to the Better Business Bueareau.

I get at least 1 call from this number every day, and it has been going on for months now. I usually don't answer and they never leave a message. When I do answer, there is nobody on the other end. My caller id shows the phone number, and the caller is listed as '800 service'.

Comcastic, in all fairness, most complains posted here are because the caller doesn't identify, leave a message, hangs up, or is a recording.

This number is on my Caller ID at least 5 times a day. No one is EVER on the line when I pick it up!

It would probably be easier and quicker to pick up the phone, find out who it is, and ask them to please stop calling instead of looking up the number on the net then posting about how you "will never pick up the phone, why won't they stop calling!".
