I am constantly receiving calls from ac either breast cancer or veterans. I have asked them to remove me from their list constantly and today a ride guy named Don called and when I said not to send me out a donation envelope and to remove me off the calling list again he proceeded to be rude and get angry and tell me fine cause I don't donate enough anyway and there are more donors who donate real money and hung up on me. This guy was extremely rude and I don't know what organization hires people like him.

This organization is relentless. I've told them I am unemployed and cannot make any donations and they become argumentative. I end up hanging up on them. If I don't answer the phone they call approximately every 30 minutes or so throughout the evening.

How To Stop These Calls
1) Contact your State's Attorney's General's Office, Charity Division.
2) Request help dealing with Commercial Fundraiser(s), and Charities harassing you.
3) You will need Both the Commercial Fundraiser's and Charity's contact information, name, address, and phone number.
4) Request the AG formally request these organizations, do not contact you, and do not sell/trade/transmit your personal information.

Wait 1 month, if they continue to call, contact the AG’s office again, and request further assistance.

If you know the charity’s name and I will post their contact information: Name, address, phone # of both the Commercial Fundraiser(s), and the Charity Associated. That you will need in order for the AG's office to take action.

I only check these every few months, so feel free to look them up your self. The Secretary of State of Washington state's charity search website: sos.wa.gov You could also try CharityNavigator.org

Sorry everyone. at acs we are not allowed to leave messages and are supose to hang up when we hear one (although as with any group of people some one will take advantage of the blank time and wait til it hangs up on them) sorry also for the people being rude. I am not the one to be rude to anyone (expecially if i dont know them or im calling their house) but this is a very hard job and people get frustrated. we get cussed out 8hours a day and people hang up and yell and say the some of worst things you could ever imagine would come out of a persons mouth and its sad but some people cant handle the abuse and get testy or even rude. And those people ALLWAYS get introuble, demoted, or fired. I do apopogise for people being so rude... we DO help the people we say we help and we call for whoever needs us too.

I have been receiving calls from AC Services under the guise of the Navy Veterans Association for two years now and have asked them on countless calls to remove me from their call list. Tonight, I did a little bit of research and found this contact info: 29777 Telg Rd Ste 3000

My call came 10-09-09 from 866-398-8233 with a woman giving her name and saying she was with A. C. Services for breast cancer awareness. She informed that she was not with one of the big organizations for breast cancer. She stated she was taking no donations today but would be mailing me something so I could give a 'small amount' and could she count on me for a 'small amount'? She started the call by calling me by what she thought was my name but was actually calling me by the name of an elderly member of our family whose name the phone is not listed under but receives mail at my address. So, my thought is they purchased a list targeting the elderly thinking they would be kind, generous, and easy targets. Not that it makes any difference, but, the woman sounded African-American. She was extremely nice and polite. I politely responded 'No thank you' and hung up. I am on the National No Call List, but I do not believe it applies to charitable organizations or poles/surveys.

I just called Associated Community Services (AC Services)248-208-9139 & left them a 3 minute message on their voice mail telling them to remove my number from their files. I also gave them a dose of blank air, as they always do when they call.

I'm on the DNC list and I'm quite tired of their calls for fraud charities. These people have several "charities" they call for and several different toll free numbers they use. I get approximately 10 calls a day from them (yesterday I got 11!). I will report each time I receive a call to the complaint section of the DNC (complaints.donotcall.gov).

I now answer toll free calls with "The number you have reached is registered with the federal government do not call registry. Your number has been captured and is being reported to the federal government of being in violation of the do not call law."

Breast Cancer Society called wanting a donation. I said OK (mother is BC survivor). Began to get suspicious when as soon as I said OK, she replied that my pledge was being documented with the Attorney General's office and I am required to pay the pledge within 3 days, would I be paying by check or cash?? Light bulb goes off . . something's not right. I told her I would think about it more after she sent me a invoice. A man got on the phone and "reminded" me that my pledge was being documented with the Attorney General's office. I asked him which office of the AT was handling these pledges and he hung the phone up.

They are a bunch of crooks. How a scam operation like this can continue to exist honestly makes me fucking sick. Instead of worrying about baseball players taking steroids our politicians should be cracking down on scam artists like this and putting them where they belong... behind bars.

I've been harassed by these people for 4 months now. They always ask for another person. A man who called this week screamed at me, demanded my name and then demanded that I was the person they had asked for. He was *extremely* abusive - I swore whoever it was must be owed money! Then I discover on the next call they're AC Services for the BREAST CANCER SOCIETY!?

The next day a nicer woman called - said she wouldn't call back. Today another woman called and when I said "you don't understand, you have the wrong number" replied "no YOU don't understand" and continued on.

I am on the donotcall.gov list - but I can't even get their site to load. Is this entire thing dead now? Do we have any recourse to get our name off this incredibly abusive company's list?

I agreed on the phone to send a donation.......they sent an invoice and I checked them out with the consumer affairs in both states & was told that 100% of the money went to management & 0% went to fight cancer. the # I received was disconected........just wanted to pass that along

I have simply made it a practice to not to give to any charity represented by Associated Community Services. If any one else wants me to do some research on these charities, let me know. You'll get a kick out of the Childrens Charitable Foundation in SC...theyre the ones who give only 8% to services. Gets me ill that they use cancer, veterans and kids to make a buck.

Called back the number, says it is the breast cancer society, recorded message talks about what they do . Cannot leave message as it says mail box is full. No option given to put on DNCL.

Caller goes on and on about helping women with breast cancer. When I would not commit over the phone and asked that he send a card with information to me, he keeps on and says they can't do so without a pledge from me to they can keep costs down. When I reinterated that I wanted some info from them first - while I was speaking - he hung up in my face.

Caller ID just said 800 Service so I let the answering machine pick up. They hung up when it answered. But from what I'm reading it was a telemarketing call trying to get money for breast cancer. I do give but once you do they never leave you alone. I have a block on my phone. Guess they get around it by using the name 800 Service.

They'd called earlier today and I found them here, so I was prepared in case they called again and ta da, they did! I immediately "burst into tears" and told them I was fighting breast cancer and I was so glad to know they were working so hard on my behalf. Woman strangled on her words and hung up. And I'll do it again if they're stupid enough to call here.

Called number back it was the Breast Cancer Society. Could not leave message the voice mail was full.

I took the call and spoke to 2 women, one of whom was supposedly the receptionist of the other. They asked me to donate so I said yes but found it strange that they requested the donation within 7 days of receiving mail. Got the letter today 12/31 and searched the Net for info before giving my money away. No phone number on mail except an 800 number; No website; no official letterhead; and the envelope is a plain white with no company logo. What???

I found an old email that someone sent to me with a link of a recording of comedian Tom Mabe, playing a prank on a Telemarketer. Why can't we do the same thing with these callers? This worked like a charm. Click here:

CALLED AND ASKED FOR MY EXWIFE FROM 8 YRS AGO.NO WAY SHE COULD HAVE GOTTEN MY NUMBER FROM HER.SO THEY ARE PROBALY SCOURING PUBLIC RECORDS.

Caller said they were calling "from AC services for the breast cancer society" - I said, I'm on the Do Not Call list, do you know what that means? She paused and I hung up. These are the same people scamming under the name of AC account services, trying to get your attention by using a legitimate cause.

A lady asked for me by name and said "I'm calling from the Breast Cancer Society and we're collecting money from ladies who have breast cancer" and then went on to ask for a donation. I was so shocked that I didn't know how to respond - except that I DO NOT have breast cancer (although I was recently in for a follow-up mammogram that proved to be nothing of concern - thank God!) so I'm wondering if my hospital/doctors office or whoever sold this company my phone number! I told the lady that I had just made a donation to Susan G Komen, that I wouldn't be donating to any group I'd never heard of and to remove from their calling list ASAP. If I hadn't been so very shocked at the complete lack of tact and manners of this woman, I'd have said some words I wouldn't type on a public website!!!

I receive numerous calls from this number, but they never leave a message, and don't have any identifying name on caller ID. Isn't that illegal?

This was an "abandoned" or "dead air" call. "Abandoned" calls (telemarketing calls that are not connected to a live representative within 2 seconds after you answered; characterized by "dead air") from any source - including "legitimate" charities and their telemarketing agents - should be reported as such to the FCC. Go to esupport.fcc.gov to do this.

Call started with a 'bot saying "Sorry for the delay, we will be with you shortly."
A man came on, saying "I'm with AC Services and we're asking for money for breast cancer research."
I said "I don't give to charities over the phone, put me on your do not call list."
"We never take money over the phone, we would like to send you a pledge card. Can I put down your support for the ladies?"

WTF you can't leave message now? Other people who have reported that this is Breast Cancer Socity that ONLY DONATES 20% to Breast Cancer & 80 % to Administrative Functions. This should be illegal. If Company doesn't give more than 60% to the cause why should I donate to them, Its a S.C.A.M. this is why they don't leave message, because the Internet allows you to look these Scammers up now!! Call at 8:36pm on a Sunday. Answered, but no response. Called number and got message that it was disconnected.

I get repeated calls from these people - answer the phone and it immediately hangs up. Same for message machine - immediate hangup. This crap has gotten old real fast! They call every single day at various times of the day - 7 days a week - every day! The Caller ID says: "Toll Free Svc" nothing more.

Called this morning at 9:30, asked her to place my number on internal do not call list. Lady was somewhat rude and said the NDC did not apply to them. I repeated that I wanted to be placed on the internal list. She said she would "try" to do it but could not sy for sure then launched back into a request for donation. Fed up i asked her if she did not understand my request maybe she would understand my foor up her ass. She hung up.............claimed tobe from some Breast Cancer Society.

Caller was asking for a donation for Navy veterans. Referred me to NAVYVETS.ORG.

The last thing I would do is give money to someone who calls me at random.

Identified herself as from Breast Cancer Society and was looking for Mary X. Mary X was apparently the previous owner of our phone number and we have had many calls from Barclays/Juniper Bank credit card looking for this person. It has been very difficult to convince them that this person no longer lives here and they have the wrong number. I think that Barclays Bank is using another collection agency to try to find Mary X. The woman caller asked if I was a relative of Mary X. I've contacted someone at the Attorney General's Dept. to see about getting this stopped.

I answered the caller informed me that they were a charity raising money for barest cancer and asked me to make a pledge. when i asked how much of the money went to the cause I was transfered to someone else who took a while to tell me that 80% was kept by them and only 20% went breast cancer. I declined and told them they were parasites.

I use Identafone to block all of these stupid calls. At least it only rings once. I've been using the software for over a year now and love it for blocking.

I received the call 4 days after I made an online donation to the standup2cancer tv program on FRI 9/5/08. Has anyone else had this happen? This is my first call from them. I will block the number.

The person asked for my husband and when I said that he wasn't here, he said "This is a courtesy call, we'll try again later." and then hung up.

Obviously an auto-dialer - the system called me on both of my phone lines one after the other.

Raising funds for Breast Cancer. I immediately asked to be taken off their call list, and the caller nicely said they would do it.

I used a reverse phone directory site and there wasn't a listing for the number. How they can use a bogus number is beyond me.

Take the number and block them!! If you don't have a telemarketer blocking program, I recommend PhoneTray. It works VERY well!! :)

Uses an automated dialing system. You can tell because you pick and say Hello and they don't hear it. You have to say hello again.

Said they want to mail me a plege card for Breast Cancer. When I asked to be removed she started saying more stuff about the cause. When I said again that I wanted to be removed, she said "I was just in the process of doing that.", somewhat rudely, to which I replied, and how would I know that from you continuing to try and sell me on your cause...? I then hung up.

I did *69 to get their number. The best thing you can do is request to be removed and make a note of it. If they call again you can sue them. The other options are to keep them on the phone as long as possible and waste their time, or if you can find a pay phone, call them and keep them on the line for about 3 minutes. Calling them this way makes them pay a hefty fee for taking the call.

Donated in memory of friend whose family requested a donation to this place instead of flowers. Now.. we are on their list and they call multiple times a day. We have requested to be removed multiple times. The kicker? They sold (traded) our information to other charities and now we get 10 -12 calls a day from all kinds of charities asking us for donations.

They called me first in 2007 right after my sister died from breast cancer. I asked them how they got my number and got some lame response. I told them not to call again but now they have started calling again, the latest on 8-15-08 at 10:45 am. I let it ring into voice mail and they did not leave a message. I am going to try to block the number with my Call Blocker.

This is done through providing our breast cancer patients with direct monthly financial assistance to help cover such costs as rent, food, transportation to and from medical treatment, medical bills, and so on. The amount of individual assistance is determined by the stage of cancer the patient is undergoing treatment for, as well as extenuating circumstances that may also be taken into account.

The Breast Cancer Society began operations only this year (Jan. 1, 2008) in regard to both our fundraising and our patient services. I do not know if you use telemarketers to call for donations for your organizations, but if you do, you should seriously think about investigating them and then finding another one or file charges on them for scamming people.
I have been getting bombarded with phone calls raising funds for "The Breast Cancer Society" and they are the rudest telemarketers I have that the previledge of repeatedly hanging up on.
The phone number from them that shows up on my caller i.d. is 1-866-311-7847.
I am not the only one with complaints about this company. Please go to "who called us", the following link, and read what other people have said about the people who are calling across this country on YOUR behalf trying to raise funds for you and get to keep the majority of the donations.

I would appreciate a follow up email from your charity and an explaination as to whether this is a company you are doing business with and what you plan to do about the rudeness these callers display to people who probably would be willing to donate funds to your organization, but will not consider it any longer because of the way we are treated by the callers.

I have been recieving calls from this number for over a month. When answered all that I hear is background noise, like an office and no one answers. I am on the Federal Do Not Call list too. On July 26th I recieverd three calls all from this number at 9:50am, 11:39am and 12:20pm. with our answering machiene the same background noise was recorded.

Said something about "breast cancer", asked how I was, I said "fine" and she said "THAT'S GREAT!". Then she rambled on and I couldn't understand most of it. Then I heard "will that be OK?" and I said "No" and hung up. Called at 9:09 in the morning!!

Called while I was away and left no message on answering machine. After checking here I'm sure it is a scam (since said organization does not exist) and will report it as a DNCL violation.

Initially, there was no caller on the other end of the line and I was about to hang up when a voice said "hello" ... sensing that it was some kind sales call, I inquired in a pretty snippy tone "what do you want?". She then mispronounced my name and I corrected her. The woman on the other end of the line accused me of "being pretty rude" and hung up on me. (Hey, in the privacy of my home and on my phone I can be as pleasant or as rude as I want to be ... I was mild in comparison to what I could have been.)

I called the number back and got a voice recording that it was Breast Cancer something or other ... I left a message for a 'manager type' to give me a call back with an apology. Until I get some kind of apology, I can continue to report their number on any board that I can find or am a member of.

Caller said she was with AC Services calling for the Breast Cancer Society and wanted me to pledge money. She was courteous but when asked who her company was she said they came to the aid of people needing help. Told her I would not pledge over the phone but if she wanted to send something to me I would look at it. She thanked me and hung up.

This is a cowardly sneaky way to ask for money, money, money. A bubbly smiley voice asks if they can send materials with a pledge card included, so we, the poor poverty stricken public may just continue to donate to them under the guise of helping cancer victims. Don't you just know it goes to line some body's pockets and they laugh all the way to the bank. If you answer the call at all, don't give them your address, etc. and just hang up on them. Better still, if you have caller ID, just don't answer.

just called tn back and "jeff" said thank you for calling cbc ..i asked what cbc is and he said convergent broadband communications. i proceeded to tell him why i was calling and he said that breast cancer society phone number is 800 3117847 not 8663117847 and that i must have misdialed. i told him im not studpid and that i had reported them to the fcc and police and that i was looking at the id screen and i didnt misdial. that he answered the phone at the number that i called . He doesnt sound like he is in the United States nor that his name is jeff.

(no pause to allow my answering machine to respond...yes i said answering machine. my recording says "hello?" and people who dont know me start babbling as if there were a live person on the line) i'm calling from the breast cancer society and although we understand how difficult it is in this economy with the price increases in gas and other ....blah blah eventually she said hello? is anyone there and then the beep ending her call. she didnt even hear the initial beep indicating it was an answering machine because she was too busy yammering away. pathetic.

I actually talked to the woman for a bit. She said they were raising money for men, women, and children with breast cancer. I asked her how common breast cancer is among children. She responded "Oh, it's becoming much more common. In fact we just had a 2 year old diagnosed." Being a breast cancer researcher, I know that's not true, told her so, and she responded with complete silence. :)

Me again. . . I just called the this number back and was able to leave a message that they were to remove my number from their call list and that I do not make donations over the phone. I also stated that I have documented the date and time of the message that was left and if I do receive another phone call I woud be reporting them for violations of the Do Not Call Registry, which does state that a telemarketer cannot contact you again once they have been asked to remove your name from their call list.

Just recieved a call from this number, but I let the answering maching pick it up since I was very busy at the time. Thanks to all of those who have posted so now I know it is another telemarketing asshole.

Trying to get a donation for breast cancer. I said no I can not donate anyone money. I need money. I dont call people for donations.

This company called me at 8:30 in the morning! The telemarketer claimed to work for ACS who is collecting money for the Breast Cancer Society. I told the caller that I am on the DNC list and she rudely explained how they don't fall under that guideline. I said regardless, 8:30 is too early for a call of this nature and that I do not donate to charities over the phone. I told her that they can mail me materials about the charity and she very rudely told me to have a blessed day. If I wasn't so annoyed that the call was so early I would have found the entire conversation pretty funny. The telemarketer was beyond rude. Oddly enough I received another call from ACS but this time it was on behalf of Navy Veterans with a different toll-free number (866-401-2547). This call was much later in the day and the telemarketer was much nicer but they again refused to send me anything by mail except for an invoice for my donation! These calls seem like a scam to me. I hope that people aren't being ripped off by these calls.

called and asked for my wife when i told the woman my wife wasn't home and asked if there was a message she said she was with the breast cancer..........and the line went dead. any money i give for breast cancer will go to SUSAN G KOMEN RACE FOR THE CURE. (the Goodman sisters went to the same high school as me)

Call came at 630pm CST, I just picked up the phone but did not speak, finally a lady said she was doing a fund raiser for The Breast Cancer Society and could she send me a pledge card to help "the women". I said I give to another Cancer charity and hung up before she could answer back.

Recorded message wanted to discuss our current credit card balance but gave no idication of what company they represented!

Breast Cancer wanted to send me some information on breast cancer and then, asked for donation. Told them "NO." I asked them if they are willing to pay for my electric, gas, water, mortgage bills since I was out of work.

They called me yesterday and I asked them to take me off their calling list. They called me again today. Will report them now.

i havent been answering, but i am utterly sick of them calling several times a day for weeks, so i finally called the number back and got an answering machine for the breast cancer society, i left a message with my number asking them to stop calling me. we'll see if they stop.

Looking at messages looks like Breast cancer collection. I answered the phone and they hung up on me! My mother died from lung cancer last year. Nice of them to be so rude!

If in fact this is a charity, they fall into a catagory of callers allowed to call under the DNC registry. There should be regulations put in place that make it mandatory that these callers identify themselves on caller ID. As long as it says unavailable on caller ID then they won't be getting an answer at my number, especially if they can't leave a message.

It is "Breast Cancer Society" in Canada and "Breast Cancer Foundation" in the US.
Regardless,it is my belief these are scammers posing as one of these charitible entities.
I suggest if they call, and you really want to make a donation, hang up and find the number for the real charity and donate.

I'm so tired of this... I probably should just get rid of the phone and save some money.
Back in the isdn-days I used a software to filter & block phone-numbers I didn't want to let through, and the phone wouldn't even ring at all.
Isn't something similar available for American lines/Caller-IDs? Something that would just filter out single numbers, a set of all 888* numbers or every number with "Unknown name"? I once did a brief search on the web and bought a modem, but this didn't work for me. Can anyone recommend a working solution?

we got this call today. caller id showed 866 311-7847 it hung up with no message when the answering machine answered. i will place complaint at dnc but i doubt if there ever is any enforcement action.

Since it was a toll free number, I called it back from my caller id. They had not left a message. The recording said they were Breast Cancer Society and talked about my "donation" and was I checking on the status of my donation! Said they offer support and nutritional advice, etc. I left a message, not to call me anymore. Also reported to FTC site.

I've been getting calls from this phone number every day. If I am at home, I answer and they never respond. This IS a scam. I've reported the number and the name of their organization (The Breast Cancer Society - no such thing) to the State Attorney Generals office. I've also called and left them messages repeatedly to put me on their do not call list since, and this is the kicker, THEY have to pay for each call received since THEY are responsible to pay for the calls they receive to their toll free number. You might want to try it:) Let's see how they like it!

rude caller trying to get committment for donation to Breast cancer Society. apparently this is a pattern as many adverse reports on several web reporting sites. the only org of that name does have a website and is doing telephone solicitations but has a wireless phone number out of arizona. don't know for sure that the two are connected...

Didnt know the incoming number on the i.d. so i let the machine get. They left a message that was obviously fake of an old person gasping for breath and moaning. Kinda creepy. Glad i looked it up. it will be blocked from now on.

Picked up and they asked for my brother who doesn't even live in the same state as me so I knew it was a junk call. Told them to remove the number and his name from their list and to never call again. It all went down hill from there. She said "this is the first time I've ever called" I replied don't call again, she then started yelling "hello" over and over again into the phone till I hung up.

I got a call from them this morning... When I told the young lady that I was not interested in making a contribution... she said ... "OHH I think you should be"... I replied that no I was sure... She then ever so politely (sarcasm used here of course) said well I hope "YOU" don't get it lady... and hung up.

I did not solicit this phone call and make it a habit of not giving my hard earned money to any organization unless I know who they are and what percentage of my money actually ends up in the hands of researchers. Her response to me was totally uncalled for.
