Who Called Us

I keep receiving calls from these people at this 3rd party company. I keep asking them to remove me from their calling list and they never do. I have no idea who these people are and it was later explained that they are contracted out by Discover Card and I recently got that card. I spoke with a rep named C. Divers and he got on my last nerve continually trying to sell me whatever credit payment protector service that he was offering. I kept telling him that I was not interested and he kept asking! I finally asked to speak to his supervisor, Mr. L Scramm. He also continually tried to get me to enroll in this program. I am completely fed up. I am on the "do not call" list and I am going to file a report against this company. I found my Discover Card terms and agreement regarding their privacy policy and I was able to opt out from them sharing my information. Hopefully, this will limit the very unwanted calls!

Called everyday this week. I asked to be removed from their calling list last year, thought it worked had not been called for three months. So i again requested to be removed was told it takes 30 days for the files to be updated. Maybe I'll get another 3 months of peace. Good luck to the others who try this.

Finally got tired of this number (1-866-290-4961) calling several times a day, and answered. In my instance, it was Discover Card, trying to send me a "free" credit report for the past 7 years (from Experian, as I recall). I just cut the operator off mid-sentence, said "I'm not interested" and hung up.

When redialing 1-866-290-4961 I heard a recording that said "welcome to discover. For a customer service rep, press 1". At that point Linda came on the line and asked me for my #. I told her that I was on the no- call list, and she said she needed my # to remove me from the list. I declined. I'll report this, but I have a feeling that I'm wasting my time.

Calls everyday, usually several times a day. Generally in the evening although I often come home to find the number on my caller id.

A pre-recorded voice identified itself as some bogus company that i could not understand (tried to hear it again 4 times). It claimed I had an order that could not be completed be cause my financial institution "did not authorize the transaction" and advice me to call back (at the same number) to get the thing resolve. Funny thing is I did not ordered anything in about weeks already. All orders before that got completed already.

As awesomedogtoys said, "call them directly at 1-800-347-2683 and tell them to remove your phone # from their Robo lists." This worked for me.

These f#$%^&*@ call many times every day. I never answer. 800 Service on caller ID. We are on DoNotCall list, it doesn't work. They must be stopped. Where are our lawmakers? Oh yes, I remember, out spending our tax money.

Just returned from vacation and over a four day period received 12 calls (7 in 1 day). I presume this is Discover as others have stated. They have also previously called 27 times on number 866-290-3289 and 16 times on 866-290-4957. I have these numbers blocked on my caller ID but they never give up. We have two Discover accounts and have always paid the full amount on time, so these are just annoying telemarketing calls. They are antagonizing their best customers to the point that people will be cancelling their accounts.

It is Discover Card and you need to call them directly at 1-800-347-2683 and tell them to remove your phone # from their Robo lists and then I would suggest to contact the Federal and State Attorney General, the President and then your Sen. and Congress to let them know that they need to have these Companies stop these practices of harassing robo calls.

Don't call 1 866 290 4961 number that has been calling you, because they can't do a thing.

Discover Card (again!) wanting to tell us about their new Business Credit Card.

This number calls atleast three times a day and never leaves a message. If it is important enough to call, you can leave a message too.

I get a call from this number almost daily, but they won't leave a message. Today I picked up and a girl kept saying Hello. Finally she asked "Is this J**** P****?" I said "Speaking". She started saying Hello? Hello? I said again, "SPEAKING!"... and she hung up. Frustrated, I finally called the number back and it's Discover card trying to sell me additional services. When you call back you get a recording, however. Totally infuriating! And I believe it's illegal for them to call without an identifying name on caller ID.

I keep getting calls from this #. Called it back & it is Discover card...I do not have a Discover card. I Pressed 1 to talk to someone, but you just get dead air & no one comes on the line. How do I get these people to stop calling me when I do not have an account with them?

For the past several weeks I have received calls, always without a message. They usually call in the early evening. Today, however, they called on a Saturday at 10 am. When I called this number back, I was met with a recording indicating their attempt to call me to offer a product or service. I was given an option to talk with a representative; however, the call disconnected when I selected that option.

We get calls from this number several times a day, sometimes only seconds apart, at all hours of the day and night. This has been going on for the better part of a year now, and is getting REALLY old.

This is NOT Discover Card. It is Epic Star Marketing. I called my Discover Card # after asking to be removed from this call list three time and Discover said they had NO record of calling me so I called back this number and drilled the Guy into telling me what the name of his Company is. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR INFORMATION!!!!!

I have received no less than 20 calls from this number. Usually a male caller asks for me by name in a Southern accent. I hang up since I am not interested in telemarketers. I Once asked to be removed from any list but apparently they do not oblige.

This number shows on my Caller ID everyday. I always ignore numbers that I don't know...and if it's something "important" they can leave a message, which they don't. I sure hope this reporting this number does some good...

I've answered this number in the past, it is Discover Card. They call 3 or 4 times a day. Telling them to take your name of their internal list is a waste of time, they won't do it.

I'm sick of Discover calling everyday. I finally called them back and asked them to take me off their solitation list. We will see if it works. If they don't stop within a few days, I will cancel my Discover Card and then I will make them take me off their list since I am on the National "Do not call list"

This company claims to be calling on 'behalf' of Discover Card. Well if it is Discover Card why doesn't the Caller ID say so? It is just a telemarketer who found a way around the 'No Call' regulations!

Same as everyone else--multiple calls per day, no one on the other end if I (very rarely) pick up. I just tried the Discover Privacy Preference Line" mentioned below (800-225-5202)--let's see if that does any good.

BEFORE HE FINISHED HIS INTRODUCTION WE WERE SUDDENLY DISCONNECTED (and it wasn't me that did the disconnecting). I HAVEN'T HAD A CALL FROM THEM SINCE. NOW AS SOON AS MY CARD IS PAID OFF, I'LL CLOSE THE ACCOUNT. THAT SHOULD STOP THE CALLS PERMANENTLY!

To turn off Call Block, dial *80. Call Block cannot block calls from some cellular phones, pay phones or business lines. It also cannot block most long distance numbers.

Discover Card selling credit report monitoring service

Discover card calling NUMEROUS times a day. Trying to sell some sort of service.

Don't know that it was Discover, because the only thing they said was; "Is ____, _____ there?" To which I replied; "She's not here right now." And they asked; "When would be the best time to reach her?" To which I repied with a bogus time. The person was very rude in tone and manner.

This number calls several times a day for several days at a time. It is an unknown id and I have never spoken with an operator. I believe it may be Discover because I recently reopened a Discover account and now the calls. I love caller id. I only answer numbers I recognize or desire to talk with. I figure if someone wants to talk with me they will leave a message. I usually ignore these calls but recently answere by unhooking the phone until they hangup. It does not seem to discourage them. I have a fart machine and sometimes play it into the phone. I am trying to screw up the courage to answer and at the same time activate the fart machine. I will ask them to hold a minute and then yell for toilet paper until they hangup. Currently that seems like a silly waste of my energy but I like the idea.

Guy said he was from Discover Card and was sending me a copy of my credit report with 7 years of history, he mumbled alot and cleared his throat alot, then he said it would cost $xx.xx per month and I said I'm not interested in anything that is going to cost me money so he said "you are making a smart decision" and hung up.

answered call from 866-290-4961 and it was Discover Card with an offer regarding payment protection plan. Stated that it's a service offered in case you ever become disabled from work or have serious health issues and are unable to make your payments. I didn't give them a chance to go over pricing and all of that. Actually didn't want to talk with me/couldn't talk with me b/c husband is the "account holder", but b/c they call 50-blue-million times a week I insisted on knowing what this product/service that they were offering was!

This number, 866-290-4961, has a caller id 800 service. They need to be stopped because they've been harassing our families and causing us stress by constantly disturbing our peace and quiet. This is very sad because we can no longer answer the phone that we paid for through Comcast. Our phone line should be private and is strictly for families and friends. The 866-290-4961 number has been calling us about twice a day for over eight months now. It is certainly a case of harassment. They don't leave messages and don't answer when I pick up the receiver. I called the number back and got a recorded message about how Discover Card had tried to contact me about a product or servive they are offering that I might be interested in. I'M NOT!

Interesting that this # is Discover Card. They have been calling me at least once a day but mostly 2-3 times a day for over 3 months now. Enough already!!!!

My daughter unknowingly answered the phone last night..they asked and she said she wasn't me. She couldn't undersrtand what they said next, so she just hung up, not knowing who she was talking to. You'd think that would have been enough for them not to call here again--no such luck.
I think I'll have my smartmouthed teenager answer it next time.

We are on the 'Do Not Call' list, but unfortunately, I do have a Discover card and am really starting to regret ever getting one, as they seem to be some pretty heavy telemarketers.

I am on Do Not Call List. This number on caller ID off and on various times for past 2 weeks. Shows: Toll Free, then 1-866-290-4961 at 10:17 AM today. Left one garbled word on my answering machine, sounded like "coy or poy".

I get 3 or more calls a day from this number, no message, never any messages, just hang ups, sometimes they manage to get a busy signal and my machine records that until they hang up....I am on the DO NOT CALL list and will be reporting the next call and every call after that

This numbrr also calls and asks for my husband. They will not say who is calling. We also are on the "DO NOT CALL REGISTER". As far as I am concerned that register is a joke. We do have a discover card, but it is in both our names. I usually say if you are trying to sell something, you must realize most people do work for a living. No he is not home!!! And I hange up.

Discover Card offering cardholders add'l service -in particular identity theft protection. Very polite Cust. Svc. I suggest decline the offer and request removal from call list, they graciously take care of it in less then a minute.

Call from Discover Card about Identity Theft Protection. Calls 3-4 times a day. I called them back and asked to be removed from their list, they asked for my number, name and address and said it takes 8-10 weeks to be completely removed but there may be other lists I am currently on through Discover that this will not remove me from.
