call several times a day and do not leave a message and will hang up if the phone is answered

I work for a bankruptcy attorney and it is indeed a Capital One collector. They are ruthless. And Yes, the collection industry does pay well for those without a heart. That's why they have to pay well. No one in their right frame of mind would want to harrass and upset people all day. Disgusting slugs, indeed. The lowest form of 'life' in my opinion.

Call comes in as Tollfree Number. If it is Capitol One we have asked them over and over and over to take us off their calling list. They use different numbers all the time so they can't get in trouble with the DNC. Why is there a DNC when nothing is done about these calls. Just more government spin doctors telling us they will help. They probably have sub-contracted all the responsibility out to a company in India to give some more people of color jobs when legal American citizens can't get jobs, education or medical treatment because our own government and American companies keeps spend or jobs and spending money to help the people of the third world who don't give a flying F*&^ about American other than getting our jobs and free money. We have to the the stupidest nation on earth. Spending TRILLIONS to help people who hate us and not helping our own legal people who really do need our help.

I don't know why but I keep getting these calls from companies that I do not even have an account with either, so I have implemented a 'do not exist' list on my phone, since the 'do not call' list does not seem to matter.
If they are calling you on your cell phone, I have a stop-gap for you.
Just associate them with a silent mp3(an mp3 with nothing but a few seconds of silence). You'll never be bothered by them again because you won't hear the call. I have started this method a while back and whenever they try another phone number to call me from, I just add them to my 'silent' list.
It has made life livable again.

Thanks for the info J. Webber. on who this number belongs to. It has been a mystery until now.

This is Capital One and they call seven days a week and begin at 8:00 a.m. I've asked them not to call for about three months and I've complained directly to Capital One - to no avail. They're automatically paid each month directly from my bank account and I'm not behind with my payments. The account is in my husband's name, he's disabled and I handle all our business but they refuse to talk with me. They apparently are trying to get us to make purchases with a new type of car loan they have. Nothing I've said or done has helped and this is a cell phone and the number is on the Do Not Call list. It's from 8:00 a.m. til 10:00 p.m. every day, including Saturday and Sunday.

I get up to 10 calls a day for like two weeks now. It's REALLY, REALLY ANNOYING!!! It starts out by saying..."One moment please...thanks for holding...(like I called the number in the first place) then a human answers." I told them twice to stop calling my number. That is crazy because they want people to answer so when someone does a human is waiting, but if you don't answer they don't leave a message or do some kind of beeping message on the answer machine.

27 calls in one day with no message....some one needs a life....everyone wants to be a bill collector, telemarketer, or credit counselor...must pay real well for a person to give up their scruples, dignity, and self esteem to live in the shadow of 'unknown name'
one wonders how proud the parents or children of these slugs must be

they call 15 times a day, nobody is every there, just noise

Whoever is calling from this number starts at 8:20 a.m. and finally stops at 8:54 p.m. I get at least 8 calls/day and has been going on for at least 1 week. Who are they?

Multiple calls weekly.

Continous harassing phone calls at work and home w/ annoying music playing, but no actual person talking.

They are texting me as well as calling me...not cool, especially since no one can figure out who they are!

This past week, I'll get 2-8 calls a day on my cell phone. No message or answer. I no longer answer when I see the #.

Keeps calling but never leaves a message and caller ID shows as "Unknown Caller".

Got 5 calls today. When I pick up, there is no one on the other line. Everyone should report this to the Do Not Call Registry at donotcall.gov

Calls from this number to my cellphone about 4x a day and never leaves a msg.

Calls incessantly, no message, nobody there ever.
If its capital one (as stated above) I don't even have credit through them so it must be sales and I am on the do not call list.

They have been unrelentless and called already 14 times in the last 2 days. I am suppose to be on the do not call list. I don't get it HELP!

Over the last three days this # has called my cell phone approximately 6x's daily (or more), never leaving a message. I do not answer unknown calls like this.

We have caller ID and when they call, the number shows up with the words "UNKNOWN NAME". We just let it ring and don't answer it. They are very persistent though, they call back 2-3 times a night.

this # called at least 6x today...if i answer, no one is there and then i hear hanging up...if i don't answer, may ring twice or five x and of course, no message is left...toll free number is on caller id

If I answer this, there is music and no one ever speaks, it does not disconnect when I hang up for about 15045 seconds. Hope it is not charging me back.

Call asking for someone who doesn't have this # - tell them every time that the person they are asking for does not live here.

800 Service is all that shows on Caller ID, leave no message, probably some bill collector looking for someone used our number
