Called & left no msg. Called them back. Debt collector who states they were given my number in error & would remove my number. Second time this has happened. Reported them to the donotcall.gov

"ZOMBIE" DEBT COLLECTORS!: THEY ARE SOCIOPATHS WHO REFUSE LEGITIMATE WORK AND INSTEAD "BUY" OLD, EXPIRED, AND NON-VALID DEBTS FOR PENNIES ON THE DOLLAR. ***DO NOT PAY THEM ANYTHING, EVER!!!*** They harass you in hope that you will pay them $20, $10 0r even $5 just to make them stop bothering you. Once they know they can extort a few dollars THEY WILL NOT STOP! It is illegal. If you want the hassle, you can ask them for an address to send a check, and then send them a certified letter to stop. But chances are they will simply pass you on to another dirtbag agency. Their "business" consists of a phone machine and post box. They deal in numbers, so if they contact 10,000 people and only 1% respond with a few dollars, they make a profit by doing virtually nothing. Legislators will not help you outlaw this because financially destitute people have no political power or advocacy. Perhaps the best thing you can do is try to reach a person on the line, whisper, make them listen very closely, and then blow a very loud whistle into the phone, and procede to change your phone number!
