someone named susan called and left a message to return the call not a word about what it was regarding and to me thats a red flag not to return the call

I've been getting calls from RPM at the most annoying times. I didn't even know what it was about. I, finally, was available to answer and when I picked up, I was hung up on. I called back and a young lady answered claiming that I owe Cingular 100 and some odd dollars. I had PREPAID phone service with Cingular that I canceled over 6 months ago when I switched cell phone companies. It struck me odd that she asked me if a certain address was mine and when I said no, she never asked me for my current address, but said she was just calling to let me know that they'll be sending out a letter, after I told her that I do not owe this money. Since when do you need to call before you send a letter and wouldn't you want my actual address...and why is this the first time that I'm hearing about a bill when I had automatic payments set-up for years?! Sounds like a scam to me. I'm ready for war!

Hi everyone... Since I used to be a bill collector, I did some research on this company. Yes, it is a collection agency, but what they do is contract out their services to ALL DIFFERENT kinds of business's that need the 'expertice' of a professional collection agency. Receivablesperf might be calling 1 person on an MCI account and might be calling another person on a Wells Fargo account. It just depends.
Just so you know, if you answer, they have to ask for the person who's name is supposedly on their account, then they HAVE to identify themselves by giving you their name and the company their calling from and the company they represent. In order for them to verify they are speaking to the correct person, they CAN ask you to give the "LAST 4 ONLY" of your SS# (but ONLY AFTER they I.D. themselves). NEVER GIVE YOUR WHOLE SS# out anyone for any reason at anytime!!!
If you find that you do not owe the bill, tell them you want them to cease and desist. If you do know you owe this bill, tell them you will only work DIRECTLY with the original creditor.
At that time, get the original creditors number and make comtact with them directly. Trust me, in todays economy, the original creditor will be happy to work out a payment plan with you... (but BEFORE you send in ONE PAYMENT) GET THE TERMS OF THE AGREEMENT IN WRITING FIRST!!!!!).

I got calls from them a couple of times. When I called them back they said that they were looking for some lady whom I don't know. Told them to take my number off their "whatever" list and they did so.

Called me about 11:43 am Eastern. Did not answer cell, lady left a message. DId not say compnay name or what it was in regards to. She said her name was Lisa and to "Please call her back" at 877-233-8521.

Call several times per day at work. Asking for "Deleon". We are a non-profit medical facility. I advised the woman I spoke to that if she continued to call, they would be reported to our legal department and the FCC. They also called my home after 9PM two weeks ago. I informed them that according to the "Fair Debt Collection Act", that they were committing an illegal act by disturbing us after 9PM and before 7AM. They have since stopped calling my home altogether. If you show that you know something about your rights as a consumer, they get scared and go away. DO NOT PAY this company, pay the original creditor if at all possible. This will prevent most collection fees and sometimes most of the interest charges.

This company has been calling my phone constantly since I first received my current number. It was always an Attorneys Office looking for Ms. Tracy Greene! I always tole them she has never lived here,and that I want them to stop calling my home. This time,the lady said that I would be removed from their list,and I demanded to not be called again. Do Not Call list is only for telemarketers, they do not have to abide by this rule because they are not considered telemarketers as they are not selling anything, they are a collection agency.

I got 8 calls over 2 days for a bill that I do not believe I owe from years ago. Over the next few days I got lots of phone calls, hangups and was even threatened.I was then told that they needed the money right away and they were even willing to waive 9 $12 fees if I paid it right then & that I could not pay by check or money order. 3 days later I get a letter saying please send your check or money order to this address?¿ I never felt right about this company/debt so I looked up the license number that they had printed in the letter. Guess what? It does not exist! So I filed a complaint with the department of consumer affairs and the BBB. I was contacted by the DCA & told that this company was not licensed and NOT to send them any money!

This "company" called me asking for some mystery person with a name they could not even pronounce properly. I asked them to please repeat the name because I could not understand what they were saying and they gave me a huge attitude. I then got pissed off and told them that I don't know anyone by that name, and they hung up the phone on me. I called them back to let them know that I didn't appreciate how unprofessional they were and to assure that I wasn't called back again. We will have to see what happens.
By the way, I have never owned a MCI phone/cellular, and I don't owe anyone money, so I can't even imagine how I got on their call list to begin with...

These guys are still calling every day. Different people every time. Most importantly, they never seem to know what conversations have transpired in the past. They are very reluctant to identify. I received a call from RPM on Mar 3. The women asked me for information about a neighbor. I asked if this was a collection agency and she said no. I told her she was lying and hung up. Now I have received a letter from RPM stating I owe MCI/world com $57 plus dollars. I have never had an account or any dealing with MCI/worldcom. MCI has changed their name or been sold/merged so it is not possible to contact them. I don't own any company/individual. All my bills are paid on time!

Absolutely unbelievalbe what these people do. Just received a call about thirty minutes ago from this crazy woman from RMP and we are still trying to recover from her scare tactics, harrassments and rudeness. She wanted us to pay off a delinquent balance in the amount of $500 by check over the phone or else we would be reported to the credit bureaus. We refused because we know that it's BOGUS. She became belligerent. We hung up. We called Sprint who denied any knowledge of this and informed us that the balance on our account is $.71. Is anyone investigating this? Is Sprint addressing this? I am concerned that some poor soul(s) have been/ are being ripped off by this rogue company.

They don't leave messages, but when I picked up last night this rude, highly unprofessional guy says they were asked to call by Verizon telecom, and last night I said "I don't believe you" and the guy pretended to be so shocked, he said "I've never heard that before." Getting calls 1-3 times daily since early December. Have pushed the number asked for "that this person does not live here", but calls continue to come. Most the time we just don't answer at all. Have turned it in to donotcall.com, but so far still calling. Numbers used are 1-425-354-1555, 1556, 1557, 1558 & 1559. These calls are for a nephew we haven't seen in two years & have no clue to his residence. Something must be done to this outfit. They need a new system for getting the information that we have no contact for the person they are looking for.

In 2001/ 2002 mci sent me 2 free phones (said i won them). I was in a good mood and said, okay I will try them and ultimately received them and they were garbage. They then sent me a bill and i refused to pay it. I sent the phones back to the only address that I could find from the original boxes. They hounded me for a couple of years to pay the fees but I refused. Now 6 years later RPM has the account and is trying to get me to pay for the garbage phones. Such a deal.. i can pay 50% of the original charges. Fyi.. 50% of garbage is still garbage and I refuse to pay.

This number calls my house, my job, and my entire extended family multiple times every day. Normally they do not say anything, they just hang up, often they ask for me. One of these people called my family posing as my girlfriend Jessica asking for information about me. My 12 year old sister answered and told them she did not know where I was.... I again checked the caller id and it showed up as RPM. Apparently they did not get the memo that I filed for bankruptcy over a month ago and legally can no longer be harassed by them. I wish prosecuting them for it was that easy.

I don't answer my phone, but I have noticed many calls on my caller ID from this number and 425-354-1559, and 425-354-1563, and 425-354-1555. The 866 number says "Receivables Pe" and the 425 numbers all say "private call" on my caller ID. Don't these people have a life? Is the job market in Bothell, WA so bad that their citizens have to make their living by calling MY number so many times? This is indeed sad.

This morning at 1032 our "friends" at RPM called, Amy wanted to talk to my spouse who is at work (big surprise) and when I told her I already knew what she wanted and explained to her that PG&E was paid at the begining of the year. She wanted to know if we had a reciet number why would we if we mailed it. She actaully told me that we should have gotten or been given one I explained that we weren't. She typed something and said that it's my credit that could be affected well you know what we paid PG&E and if the people at RPM didn't get the update then that's not my problem. Amy said that until they were told that they would keep calling like that's going to scare me into paying them!

I don't answer calls from someone I don't know. I don't have a land line only my cell, which they call once a day. However, I just added the number to my contacts and set their specific ring to silence so I am not bothered by them anymore. If they left a message I might call them back, but they never do.

Surprise, surprise, RPM...as it seems per every other person who has logged a complaint....has called our home numerous times saying that my husband owes an MCI bill that's like $600 bucks. We have lived in the same home for over ten years (they say this is a 5 year old bill) and the phone was initially hooked up in MY name...and is Century Tel...formerly GTE...NEVER MCI. When I explain to them that it can't be possible...they tell me it's in his SSN and ask me to verify what his number is. UM DUH----NO! Then the gal preceeded to lead me to believe that my husband must be leading an alternative life...like he got his mistress a phone or something! Of course they say all of the rude, horrible things...but my favorite part, is they always ask for Deneccctia...supposedly that's my name. They even spelled it for me. Hint...my name is only six letters long...and only contains a couple of these letters...they're complete scam artists...there is no doubt in my mind. AND - there is nothing for MCI on my husband's credit report!

These people still keep calling, today it was some guy named Bailiey but he didn't tell me what company he worked for and wanted to talk to my spouse who big shock is at work. When I asked him what it was about he said it's personal and hung up! I looked up the number and big surprise it's our wonderful friends at RPM, so I called back at 1-866-212-7408 and got a live person and explained for the umpteenth time that the bill was paid to PG&E and if that PG&E didn't tell RPM then to take it up with the PG&E people, she said that they would keep calling until they where notified! Well I say bring it on!!

I spent hours last night researching this company – as well as the “Fair Debt Collection Practices Act”, and they obviously know the law well – not once did "Cynthia" do or say anything that wasn’t in compliance (well, besides the incredible rudeness, but even that is okay, because the Act is pretty vague in some places, which also gives them enough loopholes for getting away with their scam ftc.gov

The "company" name is RPM - "Receivables Performance Management", receivablesperformance.com (look at the home page - the photo of the "head office" is a completely blank building, no sign or anything – it looks like a totally empty building!)

There are hundreds upon hundreds of complaints about them online, many from other old WorldCom account holders, old Sprint accounts, Sears credit accounts and others. The sad part about reading through some of them is that many of the people believe the scam (I did, until I noticed all the red flags going off!)

Just wanted to remind everyone to be very wary of anyone calling and asking for money – even if you think it could be real, it’s entirely within your rights to request a phone number that you can call back on. And don’t forget to monitor your credit report!

The more I started thinking about it, I realized that the number "Cynthia" was calling me on is the same (and only) phone number I’ve had for 7 years – and is the exact same phone number that WorldCom assigned me when I opened the account in the first place... funny that they wouldn’t have been able to track me down for all this time, and then “suddenly” realize that they’ve had my phone number all along! This company had obviously purchased a list from the now defunct WorldCom Wireless, which shows that at one time I had an account there. Their job is to create doubt and intimidate you into believing you really do owe money and get you to give your financial information to them over the phone.

Tried to tell me that I owed $200.91 to WorldCom wireless. I had a WorldCom cell phone, oh, about 7 years ago - they, um, if you didn't already know, went out of business many years ago and sold out to AT&T. My phone number, account, bill, outstanding payments, EVERYTHING transferred automatically to AT&T. Demanded payment over the phone, offered me a $40 discount if I paid in full right then and there. I informed her that NOBODY SHOULD EVER GIVE PERSONAL INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE when to someone that has called them. She told me that if I didn't pay while I was on the phone with her, she would mark my account "Refused to Coooperate" and that I would then have to pay "involuntarily", and that my place of work (she actually said "if you have a job") would be contacted. She was very insulting, implied that I was a complete deadbeat and had been purposely trying to avoid the debt. Refused to put her supervisor on - actually tried to tell me that she didn't know her supervisors name! I finally got her to give me my "account number" and an 800 number to call back to make my payment, and as soon as I got off the phone ran my credit report - what do you know, there's nothing delinquent on my entire credit report. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE MONEY!!!!

They call every once and awhile. On 01/08/08, they called my cell and actually sent a page since I didn't answer.

I want this to stop. They call couple months ago, when calling back to the number, people in background were like playing around and laughing. I asked where am I calling to, they just kept asking who you want to speak with. I just told them you call me. I have been getting calls from 888 212 7408 and I didnt know the number so I never answered but they would call all day long, so today I answered they asked for a person by the name of "ERIC" they said hold on they will remove my number and then I got a call at my job with the same number asking for the same guy and they hung up. Very fishy and weired. I will be checking my personal information hoping and praying I am not a victim of Identity Theft!!! :(

I have been called by them twice on my home phone. Today I answered and she asked for a bogus person. I told her she had the wrong number. She said to hold on and she would take me off the list. Yea Right... Will See.

Repeated weekend and evening calls, always have recorded msg. I finally called, told them my number was on No Call List and I wanted calls to stop. They only wanted more personal information, would not assure me calls would stop. The person I talked to was young, rude, and argumentative. I've submitted at least 3 complaints to Missouri NCL and I'm still getting calls.

I am getting at least 2 or 3 calls EVERY SINGLE DAY from this number. When my phone is off, they leave a message leaving ONLY their name, and ask that I return the call and then provide the number. When I answer the phone, I get an automatic recording that says to HOLD FOR AVAILABLE PARTY. I think this is a ploy to get me to use minutes on my phone, since it is a cell phone and I would have to call voicemail each time to retrieve my message, not to mention the minutes expended in calling and holding for them. When they leave a message, THEY NEVER SAY THE PURPOSE FOR THE CALL. I have called them back twice, and each time I was automatically put on hold (without first speaking with a human person) for 5 minutes!!! If this IS someone from SPRINT calling to generate minutes on their customers' cell phones, I'd like to see the look on their faces when many of us switch to other providers!

My husband and I have had our phone number for 4 years. We do not have any connection with the people who had our phone number previously, having never met them. We still to this day get calls for them. RPM has called and asked us to verify our address. I advised that having my address would do them no good since we don't know the person they are trying to reach. They became very rude and announced that they will just keep calling us then. When we asked for the name of the company and supervisor, they hung up on us. We dialed *69 which is how we got thier number.

I called them back, got the RPM company automated answer. Then spoke to an exceedingly rude rep; after giving her the phone number she asked for a name. When I explained that this was a business and the name wasn't one I recognized, she said "I'll remember the number". Yeah. I'm going to hold my breath on that one.

I received a rude call from a male individual who called from 866-212-7408. I asked for the company name and he asked for an individual who does not live at this number. I informed this person concerning this and he asked for a contact number which I did not give. I again requested that he stop calling and stated "Do not call" after which he stated that "he would continue to call until he received another contact number" and then hung up on me. I immediately redialed this number and spoke with a person named "Ronda" and complained, she disconnected on me. I again redialed this number and requested to speak with a supervisor. A person named "Lisa Russell" stated she was a supervisor and took my complaint information and again I requested her to take my phone number off their list and "Do not call" me anymore. I also stated that I plan to file a complaint with the FCC and per our attorney's advice do not give any additional information to them. I also plan to have my attorney write them a letter as well. Tell them "DO NOT CALL" and get a name. If needed write your elected officials as well. This company was extremely rude and unprofessional.

found this number from my call record and called back to find out what it was. They identified themselves as RPM, when I asked what this calls were about, they hung up. I previously reported calls from RPM regarding Sprint. Instead of sending out the billing statement from the Sprint if they have, they are calling now using a different toll free number. I wish that they had a chance to listen to me that Sprint has never provided me with any service, even a second, instead of hanging up the phone.

Called and got a woman saying it was RPM, hung up on me when I asked who they were.

Called several times a day for two weeks, but hung up every time I answered the call. Several times I called back, was put on hold for twenty minutes and then disconnected. Heres the thing, if you want us to stop calling, just say the 3 words. And hang up.

"DO NOT CALL." By LAW we HAVE to stop calling if you say those and only those three words. We are only allowed to only call between the hours of 8am and 9pm YOUR TIME. (My ass gets up at 5 am just to call you Eastern states) haha. As a collector RPM is only allowed to call talk to the DEBTOR (Name we are calling for) 3 times a week. We can keep calling all day everyday until those 3times are up.

After talking to this number known as Sprint on July 10, 2007, I picked up the phone today at 7:12PM (EST) on July 11, 2007 when they called again, but they hung up the phone. I hope they talked to me to follow up with previous talking that Sprint has never provided any service with the resident under this phone number name. A complaint was also filed with "Do Not Call" reg. on July 10, 2007.

Just got my cell phone with a new number and got this call. Didn't know number, so I didn't answer. They even left voicemail which I didn't take either. Googled number to find out I'm not the only one to be bothered by these people. If they have anything to do with MCI it is definitely a rip-off. I was ripped off by MCI several years ago when they "telephone slammed" me at my business and tried to co-erce my 12-year old at home into okaying a switch of long-distance carriers!

They have called me atleast 2-3 times a day for the past few weeks and I have not answered. Today they finally left a message and all it said was, "This is Brittany, please please call me back at 866-212-7408." No explanation of for what company or what they needed. I googled the number and found out they are a collection company for Sprint, my current and only cell phone provider I have ever had. I checked my Sprint account and there was nothing overdue or late, these people are a fraud and I do not know how they got my number.

I guess this company is a collection agency. They call my number 941 928-0491 because a friend did not pay his SPRINT bill. I was finally home when they called this number has been on my caller id for the last 2 months at all hours of the day and night and they asked for Dennis. This is not me or my husband. This is an abandoned call per the FCC. When I answered, more than 2 seconds lapsed before a live person come on. In actuality, I waited 5 seconds for someone to answer then hung up.

I keep getting calls from this number. When I answer they hang up. I finally called back and told them I want to know who they are. They said they are "RPM". I gave him my phone number and he said my number was not in there computer.

I have been 4 or 5 phone calls a day for about the last ten days. If I pick the phone the person asks for Leslie. I say there is no such person here. The caller usually is rude, threatening, and shouts at me. I don't know a Leslie.

They have called repeatedly under MULTIPLE phone numbers. My husband did answer once and they are claiming that I owe money on an MCI account that was opened in 2000! I've never even had MCI. When my husband asked them to send something in writing, they asked for the address. Right then my husband knew something was fishy. If they have our phonhe number, why not our address? Now, we'll just let it ring.

Missed call, no message. It is RPM collection agency. They called long ago, looking for someone unknown to me. Regardless, they still call once a month.

These buttmonkeys keep calling my cell phone, all times of day. I never answer because I figured it's a scam anyways and looks like I'm correct. Funny thing is, my phone is a Tracphone prepaid so if they even tried to mention Sprint or any other company I immediately know that they're lying. They called and asked my daughter for my wifes number at work and cell number, I got on the phone and was told by a person name Kathy that my wife had an outstanding balance on an account from 1996 and if I would get my credit card they would settle the debt for 50 cents on the dollar. I asked for proof that my wife owed this debt but the representative didn't have an account number, a SSN or even a correct mailing address. When I asked for a supervisor I was given this number to call. I imediatly called back and got another representative and when I explained that I was in no way paying for a claimed debt without proof the representative became rude and nasty. I gave her my correct address and told her that if they had proof that my wife owed this debt then they can mail it to me and I would pay the bill. The representative told me that they would not send me anything and that if I refused to pay this immediately with a credit card they I was willfully defaulting on the account. When I asked for a supervisor I was told that she was not going to waist her time dragging a suprvisor across the floor to tell me the same thing she has been saying. I told them to send me proof via standard mail and then hung up.

I followed up this call to the company that RPM Collection company said hired them to collect these funds and spent 15 minutes on the phone trying to find out if we did in-fact owe them money and they could not find a past account that linked my wife to this company. They recommended I have a credit report run on my wife as this may be a scam!

They keep calling for my ex that I divorced 17 years ago. She just had another foreclosure and has moved to Dallas with our daughter Sarah LaFavers. We can not get them to stop calling

I began receiving calls from this number stating I have an important call please return my call my name is Rhonda. In the beginning I paniced thinking something happened. I returned the call finding it was a collection company. I started just hanging up the calls continued up to 30 per day. I finally started making payments since they said if I made a payment they would stop calling for 30 days. Well the posted the payment to the wrong account so the calls continued. When I attempted to find where the payments went the told me they couldnt talk to me about an account in which my name is not on it. They Said my MCI account was in collections. Never had an MCI account. When I asked what the number was, they hung up. They called me again today at work and said my mci account was in collections...I asked what the amount was and they said $4.76. I then said I've never had an account with MCI Worldcomm and they said "Well our records say you did, so why dont you just give me your credit card info to take care of this 4 dollars"...I hung up.

We get a call from this number every morning around 9:30 AM. When we pick up the phone there is no one there. If we don't pick up the phone there is no message left.

These people keep ringing my phone at work. I have no idea what it concerns. I have not returned the calls. Dear Sirs, I have been receiveing calls daily for over a week from 866-212-7408 which is from the above company in regard to my former daughter in laws Sprint account. I have no ties to this person or her accounts. She moved on over a year ago. Please make these people stop calling me. Please advise.

They are still calling my place of employment (especially) after I told them not to call me at work, call me at home. I was in a meeting when the receptionist told me that I had an important call, I get on the phone with ???? from (RPM) and I tell the guy that I was in an important meeting and to call me at home, if he had anything to discuss with me. Of course he was nasty and rude! After going back and forth with him, I told him that I would contact the Attorney General's Office for the State that this company is located in, and he hung up on ME!!!
The nerve. RPM is still calling me here at work, more than 7X a day. I don't even answer calls from 425-984-6246 because I know it is them.

RPM called me today claiming I owed MCI money. They claimed it was "court verified". MCI among other issues could not seem to bill me correctly, I know some people received bills for several K's erroneously.

I had MCI several years ago and didn't owe them a dime when I left their horrible service. When I say years ago, I mean 5+. This digs up a lot of bad memories of being on hold with customer support with MCI for hours on end.

They called three times in one hour, then again the next day. When I picked up they refused to tell me what it was about, even though the person they are looking for is deceased and I have power of attorney. They only wanted me to fax "something" to them, but when I asked what they hung up on me.

Calls 5 times a day, hang up when I answer, I looked it up online and it is a collection agency RPM, I tried to call them back, no answer, tried to email no response. I have nothing in collections, they are listed on rip off. com

Repeated calls from the number, never any answer or they ask for "Donald". As soon as I say there is no Donald they hang up immediately. I never get the chance to tell them not to call again.

They called in the middle of the night Sunday 12/17/06 and didn't wait for an answer. This is about the 5th time they've rung me.

12/1/2006 They have called me four times today. They sometimes leave a message, sometimes they dont. Today the man that called was Aaron. He left no company name or what the call was regarding. The number that came up on my cell phone was 425.984.6246. When i call that number it gives me a busy signal.

Have no idea why they keep calling as the cell phone that was in collections...now they have somehow obtained my work number and are leaving messages. I will threaten sue them for harassment if they call back.

Bothering me with calls. They have an all automated system, whichever option I pick I don't get to talk to an operator or someone in person, so that I could request them that they got a wrong person. very annoying.

Like all of these comments I have had the same thing. They call about 10 times a day, literally, and they never leave a message. Finally I did my research on the company right before I paid off my Sprint bill I did my research on the company, there were a lot of comments all over the internet from people stating that when they game them a credit card number or a check, they processed the card/check several times. I decided to go right to Sprint to pay it - DO NOT PAY THIS COMPANY!!

Very rude caller. Asked for my wife stated it was very imprtant business but would not idnetify themself. Also asked for a woman named "Jackie". When I would not comply they hung up.

This company RPM has called 35 times. Left messages. We do not know who they are, and want these called stopped.

I keep getting calls from this number. When I answer they hang up. I finally got upset about it and called back and told them I want to know who they are. They said they are "RPM". I gave her my phone number and she said she was looking for some guy named Viktor. I told her I have had this number for three years and I am not Viktor. I also told her I am on the do not call list, and she sid the list does not apply to them.

I don't owe anything to anyone and am on the do not call list. I am sick of the calls. They never respond when I pick up.

I didn't actually speak with them, since they asked for me and grossly mispronounced my name and I told them they had the wrong number. This is the second time they called. I have never had a cellphone of my own - the only one I've ever had is in my wife's name. Smells fishy to me.

They mentioned that my cellular phone was in collection.
