Credit card scammers wanting you to give them personal info so they can steal or misuse your identity. Made fun of me when i told them I had no CC. Cussed me out after I told him to go F yourself, not professionals, no legit company lets their employees cuss you, even if you cuss them.

We need CRIMINAL penalties against the companies that are profiting from these calls. Follow the money,
slap them in jail, no one left to outsource to overseas boiler rooms, problem solved.
Since they are operating across borders it should become a federal felony and should be handled by the
FBI under the RICO Act.
These calls are coming from call centers in Costa Rica and India and they are using spoofed (false) numbers, which in itself is illegal. They do cold calling for or sell the leads to numerous companies in this country and they know that what they are doing is illegal. Tomorrow this same number may be selling Cruises, Timeshares or Security Systems but if you follow the money it usually ends up in the hands of an American LLC. Keep complaining to the FTC and FCC, and start bugging our politicians to pass laws to make it punishable in criminal court instead of handing out fines that they don't pay. Another course of action is to contact phone companies to find out why they won't block spoofed numbers. With today's technology that should be an easy thing to do, unless they are somehow profiting from the use of their systems.
Robocalls are illegal unless you have given them prior permission in writing (not worded into some small print contract from a 3rd party) and are absolutely illegal to a cell phone. The Telephone Consumer Protection Act permits individuals who have received certain unlawful telemarketing, such as junk faxes or telemarketing calls, to sue the violator in state courts where they may be awarded up to $1500 for each violation.

People should continually file complaints with their Attorney Generals office and also file with:

If enough people keep complaining then maybe something will get done.
Read comments below from Resident47 and Brent. I thought these calls were just annoying. Now I see they are illegal scams. There is a special place in Hell for these people.
called with no message or caller id. Blocked area code and prefix to prevent repeated calls.
Another call from these pests. I phoned this number back again and got a recording that the person I was trying to reach is unavailable and to try again later. They have called a least a half a dozen times in the last few days.
I asked to be put on their do not call list and was told by the operator that I was "STUPID". Scumbag bottom feeders!
I had the same experience as " Brent " below. I will report them to the DNC.
Ms. Skinner, the credit reprice scam calls are already illegal for trying to swindle people, and they violate the Telemarketing Sales Rule each time a DNC-registered number is rung. The primary problem in halting them is finding the actual call centers, which can hide behind spoofed numbers, shell companies, and sometimes international borders. Usually your only defense is to file complaints with the FTC and attorneys general, then work out some way to block the calls at your end.
Don't hesitate to make a complaint stink. Several ''Heathers'' and ''Rachels'' have been put away since 2010 based on citizen reports. One credit scam firm in Atlanta faced criminal charges nine months ago.

Caller left no message. When I called number back I got recording stating that if someone called you from this number it is a hoax. Reported to DNC Rgistry.
Is there not any way these type of phone calls can be restricted according to the 'do not call' list? When I told her to take me off, she hung up.
One of the "Important message about your credit card". Pressed "1" before the message went any further and got a live person. Hung up on him. This number is now added to my computer's software 'PhoneTray Free' which will answer future calls from this number after one ring and give them a message of my choice. Thanks programmers at phonetray.com
Definitely a credit card scam. Do not give them any of your private information, not even your name. Do not even bother attempting to get off their calling list, they just hang up on you. All we can do is not answer their calls. They are shameless thieves.
The recorded message states you can lower your credit card interest rate. Press 1. I usually hang up. However, this time I pressed "1". A nice young lady came on and asked me several questions. She continued as long as I gave her the information. She was trying to get me to give her my credit card number and ex. date. I suggested to her I would be foolish to give her that information. She attempted to promise me that she needed the information to determine the savings. She promised she could not use my card to purchase items as I she was not going to ask me for the 3 digit code. I asked her how do I get off of her mailing list and she immediately hung up.
Said it was my final notice, to tranfer my credit card information for a better rate. Duh! I wasn't born yesterday!
Credit card scam.
Claimed to be my credit card company - and I should input CC information to get a better rate. I hung up.
Caller hung up without speaking. I phoned number back and received recording stating that " the person you have called is unavailable right now."
jerks...they even canned Rachel
The recording was different than Credit Card services Rachel normally gives for information. It sounded very urgent and that my credit card might self destruct if I didn't press 1. There must be a lot of money in this scam or they wouldn't be wasting their time calling people. Wonder how many people they actually get to buy into this scam.
Some sale call. I pushed "1" to talk to someone and when they picked up before I could tell them to take me off the list they hung up. Can't call them back. They seem to call several times a month.
COLLECTION COMPANY.
They called & said "Important information about your credit account". I hung up after that.
Caller said "This is a very important message about your credit card account..." I hung up at that point.
This person calls, leaves no message. Trying to call back gets a message that "this subscriber can not receive messages at this time"...have no idea who it is.
