Who Called Us

received this call on 10/17/08 but didn't think anything about it since a name(James Anderson) was in the caller ID. Checked on another number tonight and went through my ID list and found this one and checked it out. Originally thought perhaps a wrong number, but now I see all these others. My machine got it and they left no message. I'm sure it's a scam.

This is a tired Phishing scam - I've received calls from 5 or 6 different numbers asking the same thing - to lower credit card interest rates. I'm on the National DNC List and have made complaints too. If you search the following number on this site: 386-409-3699 - and scroll down - you'll see just how many numbers these people are using - there are SO many, you can't block them all. Unbelievable.

Hung up - Numerous calls - All nuisance - All Hang ups!
I treat this crap as a SCAM against all people that have telephones.
If your stupid to fall for this crap and continue to promote phone scams
then you should be scammed. Report it to someone that can fix this crap...

Got a phone call from this phone number today while I was out on my business line. My caller id showed James Anderson... Didn't bother to call it back. They did not leave a voicemail. From all of the commentary from others, I figure its probably a telemarketer scam or something of that sort.

"James Anderson" doesn't exist, folks - you can't call the number back from any other phone than the one they called you on, or you get a phony beep+error message "this number is no longer in service" - baloney, if you call it back from the phone with the message on its caller ID, someone responds "Thank you for letting us reverse your debts" - seems to have a different message on different days, eh? What a loser!

My caller ID said Okeechobee, FL - but when I dial the number back - I get a recording of: "We're sorry, the number you have dialed is not in service at this time." I even think this is a scam. I'm going to try the Sheriff in Okeechobee...

Robocall asking to press 1 if interested in reduction on credit card payments or 2 for list removal. I pressed 1 and was immediately connected with a representative who said she was working for "Credit Services" and that they are located in Georgia. According to the rep, they are a "debt consolidation" company that negotiates with credit card companies to reduce your payments. She kept asking me if I paid off my bill every month or carried a balance of at least $3000 and had an APR of greater than 9.9%. When I answered that it differed from month to month, she hung up on me.

P.S. I also reported this call to the Do Not Call List (DNC) since I have been on there for years! If we all start reporting here & to the DNC List maybe the scammers will back off & go away (dreaming).

I also tried to call the number back and received a message that the phone was disconnected. Came straight here after that! Great website!

Phone range with number and Caller ID as "James Anderson". Was impressed to see this site. Glad to see people working on tracking the scammers down.

call back gets the same as others - a disconnected number - obviously these scammers have faked the caller ID number and probably made up the name - i didn't pick up, but next time they call, i am going to push for a live agent and then scream into their headset

btw, the two florida people listed at that number (david and pamela) clearly have nothing to do with this scam

Just received call from this number. Showed Anderson, James. Answered the call and it stated about last chance to lower interest rate. I pressed 1 and asked the man that answered to place me on their do not call list bank, and that I was on the DNC list. He stated that he didn't care. I told him "Well, then I just have one thing for you." He asked what that was and I blew my whistle in the mouthpiece as I hung up the phone. Let's see if he calls back now! If you don't want to comply with the DNC or my request to remove my number and stop calling, then I will give you a reason not to call.

Got a call from this # this evening advising "last chance to lower your interest rates". Just finished filing the FCC complaint, and I advise all to do the same.

Caller ID said James Anderson. Recording said account services and I could lower my interest rate. I pressed one and a man answered and said this is James. I told "James" that I was going to sue him and he had no right to call me. I am so sick of these calls. There must be something we can do to put these people out of business. The do not call list doesn't seem to be helping. Just for your information, I found in my research that those who use their "service" get no reduction in interest rates, but do get a charge of $599.00 to $999.00 on their credit card. They need to be in prison.

called my cell phone last week, when I chose to talk to someone and said stop calling me the man got all mad and hung up on me, this time they called my house with the same stupid recorded message

Recording saying not to be alarmed but it was our last chance to lower the interest rate on our account. No idenification, I have no credit cards and I am sure its NOT my mortgage co. Just another idiot.

I was called by this number but I hung up because a computer started talking about Interest Rates.
I checked my Caller ID and it gave a James Anderson as the caller and his number. I called that number
to let him know he called a "DONOT CALL NUMBER" and I got an Operator who said that there was no such
number. I called tree times and got the same answer. This shows that it is a SCAM !10 Oct 2008.

Same as everyone else here: Called ID lists James Anderson from 863-467-8918 - did not lave any message. When I called back *I ALWAYS dial *67 first so my number is not displayed*, said that number was not in service. Next step - reporting to the DND line: donotcall.gov

Just got call from "James Anderson" - "last chance to reduce interest rate". Hung up assuming its a scam & based on other comments below it is a scam!

This is the second call I've gotten from this number with no message. I thought maybe it was someone I knew and looked up the number.

This is not a caller named "James Anderson." It is a company that calls itself "credit services" and they claim they want to work with your credit card company(ies) to lower your interest rates. They immediately ask for your 16-digit Visa or MasterCard number. If you don't give it to them, they quickly put a supervisor on the line to harass you. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBERS! THIS IS A SCAM. I asked them to take my number off their calling list and they hung up on me.

An Anderson, James called me at 2:51 p.m. on 10/09/08. Seems they wanted info about my credit card, but I knew it was a scam so I just played along. I didn't give them any info of course I just wanted to know who they are and why they were calling me.

I googled the tel. # and a David A Thomas & Pamela Refoure are listed with the tel. no. of (863)467-8918.

My next step is to report this to the New York State District Attorney Office for attempted Identity Theft.

redialed this number 2 weeks ago, got avery crotchety older guy who seemed very annoyed by the call and claimed to not know anything about the calls being made from his number...

This is a recorded message which gives the person called the opportunity to press "1" to increase their credit limits or reduce rate/or something similar; or "2" to have their name removed from the list. It is deceptive that this company uses a name such as James Anderson instead of their business name to get you to answer the phone. They are scum of the earth.

These calls started after the onset of the 'govt bailout' Scammers come out of the woodwork. We waste a lot of time answering phony calls. With caller ID usually don't answer. Picked up phone out of curiosity, but got disconnected? Phone may only ring twice, then disconnect.

Got a call from "james anderson" at 863-467-8918; it was a recording of last chance to lower the interest rate on my credit card. WHAT credit card? I don't have one.

These horses asses one of these days are gonna get caught and when they do, i hope the feds throw the book ( or can of whoop ass ) at them big time. This criminal activity has got to stop !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GGGGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

James Anderson telemarketing called me too. I'm sick of it.

Recorded message - debt consolidation. I've received the same telespam from various numbers.

Call came through at 11:09 a.m. When I answered, I heard the same recorded message that I've received so many times before from other numbers: "Don't be alarmed but this is your final notice. . . ". At that point I hung up. I am on the do not call list and am very tired of receiving these calls.

Fortunately I was not home for this call (6:31 p.m.). Caller ID identified it as Anderson James, 836-467-8918

Answered the phone to an automated message about "lowering my rates." No specific account was mentioned, but I did not stay on the line very long. I also received the infamous Countrywide letter a week or two ago. I don't think the two are related, as this is probably just a scam trying to get people to enter their CC #'s over the phone.

Caller ID showed "James Anderson". The message was a female voice automated message advertising "Lower your interest rates on your credit card. Stay on the line and someone will be with you to assist you with this offer." I hung up at that point.

Love this site, glad I checked. I guess people are done using "unknown number" on the caller ID. Left no message, I will report this to the DNC list as well.

Called me today at 12:36 CST. I said hello two or three times and then was disconnected. I, too, am on the do not call list. I used to be nice and wait till someone breathed to tell them that, but now I just cut them off immediately.

Versa Debt Scam. James Anderson 863 467 8918 After scamming the telemarketer back Versa Debt called back in a threatening posture but hung up after I reminded them of the Do Not Call list and now that I know who they are I would forward a complaint.

Just received a call from this phone #.. caller id said James Anderson, switchboard.com showed the # belonging to a "David A. Thomas" of Lorida, FL. No clue what it is about but not answering.. I'm in CT.

This is the usual song and dance about a "special offer to lower your interest rate." Don't take them up on their offer; they won't do anything for you besides take your money. The number listed on Caller ID is fake, so don't bother calling it back, either. Since they're not a legitimate company, they ignore the Do Not Call List, so lecturing them about that won't help you any.

This is the first time they've called using a person's name on Caller ID. Next time someone calls with such a generic-looking name I don't recognize, I won't be picking up the phone.

I got a call today at 12:15. No recording, just a beep-beep when it got my machine. I did *69 and found out the phone number. I get a lot of these beeping phone calls. I am on the Do Not Call registry, both my land line and cell phone. This is against the DNC. I wish this guy would stop calling me. It is very annoying. He won't get to talk to me as I leave the machine on and I don't pick it up unless someone I know talks on it.

I received a call today from 863 467-8918. Caller ID showed James Anderson at a number I didn't recognize. I do know several James Andersons and almost answered. Glad I didn't after reading these comments.

Answered on 9/25/08 at 11:37 a.m. because it showed a name, James Anderson, on Caller ID; however, turns out a recorded voice that wants to lower interest rates, didn't let it finish and hung up. After reading all the comments, glad I did since it's a scam. We never keep a balance on any card so we have no need for lower interest rates. What I'd like to see is the interest we earn on our savings increase; wonder if these idiots can help us with that? LOL

Called the number back and the number is not in service. There are a couple different names and addresses that come up when I searched online. That is odd. Same number for 3 different people in different towns in the same state? Whoever it really is, hung up.

Call today, 9/23/08, at 3:50 pm with caller ID saying James Anderson. Went to answering machine and no message (hang up). I called back within minutes and got message that phone number is out of service. I hope he/it doesn't keep calling!

this call was from James Anderson at least that is what caller ID says, supposedly this number worked at 2:42 this afternoon. However by 6:45 this evening it was no longer in service. James Anderson caller ID, recorded message about "Last chance to lower interest rates on your credit cards" without naming them, press 1 to talk to a rep (or 2 to end these calls...yeah, right). Pressed 1 and talked to "Kimberley", who identified her company as "Credit Services", asked if they had a do not call list, and had to read her my phone number (so the worker bees don't get a data dump from the bot doing the calling). Our number is already on the national do not call registry, and so filed an FCC complaint at esupport.fcc.gov

I've received a call form the same number, James Anderson, but no message. I've also received an email from him. I've started a business a while ago and created and published a website....you have no idea the amount of scam and junk email and phone calls I get. Many of them look so legit taht I intend to suspend my website and go back to advertising the old-fashioned way ; word of mouth, local newspaper,biz letters etc....it's really frustrating and exhausting having to deal with all these crooks and I'm really tired of it....just a bucnh of losers

Company referred to themselves as CREDIT SERVICES from Atlanta, called requested me to give them my credit card number, Caller ID was James Anderson 863-467-8918.

Just received call from this number 9-18-08...the name James Anderson came up on caller ID...didn't answer...no message left. I am in MA.

I had this name/number on my caller ID today. I am concerned as I received a letter from Countrywide (my mortgage co) telling me our file along with millions of other customers were stole...so, who is this clown thats calling??? I hope anyone else reporting didnt receive the letter I did or there may be some relevence to it.

I picked up because it was a familiar name. 2 of my kids are in debt and the darn collecters call me about their financial affairs.
The phone had severe static and I could not understand a word. He did not call back, so it must be some collecion agency, in my opinion.

The usual message to call back regarding your credit card interest rate. Obviously a 3rd party. Not the credit card servicer or originator.

I have a metal whistle that I am going to blow in their ears when I call them. Same courtesy if you press 1 when you call and ask to be removed from their list. I don't know what happens if you press 2 as they instruct you to if you want to be taken off their list.

At least if you don't let it roll to your voice mail to leave a message, by picking it up and hangin up you don't clutter up the voice mail.

Calls often, today I pressed 1 as instructed in the auto message and reached a person who asked if I was calling to reduce my credit card rate and then disconnected me after asking to be removed from list.

When the asked me to read them my credit card number, I told them I was going to report them to the FCC, the FTC, and my local and state law enforcement officials. They quickly hung up.

just got a call from James Anderson at 10:30AM 9/18/2008. No message left. Now they are on my block list. I love this website!!!

There seems to be a conflict of information about who owns this phone number. Google's residential phone book gave me two names -

My caller ID said Okeechobee, FL, so I'm going with the second name on the list. Either way, I don't appreciate the phone calls and they need to stop.
